Bus stop
The rain poured endlessly as Ningguang stopped by a bus stop, her umbrella dripping with water and her shoes being slightly soaked from the water splashing against her shoes. Ningguang watches the water flow from the streets, down the drains in a steady flow, and the rain clouds as her surroundings continue to fog up.
In the distance, Ningguang could see a figure running from the opposite side of the road to the bus stop, the woman had soaking wet clothes and her hair was flat due to the rain.
"Uh- hey...?"
The woman greets.
"Hello?" Ningguang looks at the woman who suddenly decided to start a conversation with her.
"I'm Beidou, nice to meet you, miss, waiting for a ride?"
"Beidou," Ningguang replies, in a slightly warmer tone than before. She noticed that she was squeezing her shirt to get rid of the water, and decided to take off the coat she was wearing and give it to this Beidou. She didn't mind getting wet, if anything, cold temperatures were something she was used to.
"Yeah. You?"
Then she cleared her throat and smiled, a genuine smile, which was rare for her, but the situation called for it.
"Here," she gave Beidou the coat.
"Oh, no thank you miss. You can have your coat."
Beidou kindly rejects Ningguang's offer.
"And yes, I'm waiting for a ride back home."
"I insist that you take it," Ningguang replied firmly, as if it wasn't up for discussion, as if she was forcing Beidou to have the coat.
"...It's fine. I can deal with getting wet."
"Please, it's alright. I'm already wet anyways."
Beidou smiles kindly
"You're too kind, miss."
Beidou sat down at one of the metal chairs before turning back to Ningguang.
"The rain probably won't disappear in a while, let's talk while we're at it, yeah? Oh and, what's your name?"
Ningguang's mind was racing, trying to figure out what she could say that would appeal well to Beidou. She did have all the time in the world, considering that it would be a while until the rain passed, so perhaps she could simply talk about her business? It was what she did best, after all.
"I am Ningguang," she replied. "What are you interested in talking about?"
"hm, I don't know. I guess I'll just introduce myself more!"
"I'm Beidou, a freelancer. I got a temporary job here recently and my salary is good enough to feed me for a week, how about you? Do you work here?"
Ningguang nodded. She had an idea of what a freelancer was. It was essentially someone who had the skills necessary to do a profession of a higher nature, but did not hold a fixed job for a certain company, and took up various gigs to make money.
The two talked for a while, getting to know each other until the rain stopped, as the sun appeared and shone the bright sky, and the sky in it's whole was a clear blue. As if it never rained at all.
"The rain stopped, that must mean you'll be leaving, right?"
Beidou looks at Ningguang
"Indeed, well, the conversation we had was fun."
"Yep! Hope to meet you again in a rainy day soon!"
Maybe, just maybe, Ningguang wishes to see Beidou again on a rainy day.
