Chapter 1
KALIA EVE POTTER-BLACK entered the world screaming with burning lungs and sensory overload, eyes fading from a liquid gold to a deep blue as July became August in the seven seconds after her birth. Her mother, Lilium Jessamine Potter-Black nee Evans, was a beautiful red-haired, emerald eyed woman who had a mastery in Runic, Arithmetic, and Charm magics. Kalia's fathers, Jamison Fleamont Charlus Potter-Black and Sirius Orion III Black-Potter, both had dark hair of various shades and grey eyes.
Sirius' eyes were more mercury while James had those beautiful steel eyes. Like their eyes, they deferred in smaller ways. While both had a mastery in Defensive, Potion, and creation magics, Sirius also had a mastery in Astronomical, Charm, and Ritual magics and James had a mastery in Enchanting, Transfiguration, and Alchemical magics.
Kalia Eve wasn't too different at first, then she was taken home on her third day alive it became obvious that she was never going to be average. She was shifting her hair to different colors, making the little toys above her crib spin, and even rolling around when that shouldn't be possible at such a young age. Instead of fearing it, her parents encouraged her and so she thrived.
Within three months, she was walking, babbling soft words, and teething. That was when the fast growth was noticed. She looked like a small one-year-old. They worried but knew that it wouldn't affect her actual lifespan. With her quicker aging, they decided to take every three months as a year and so, following tradition, they did rituals on each 'birthday'. The Scientia ritual sped up and enhanced knowledge procession and retainment, the Maturus ritual sped up everything in the body and mind, and finally the Interiorem Fera ritual which granted a person the spirit of their inner animal much like an Animagus but more.
Even though she was three months old, her parents saw her as a year old and thus felt they needed to work a year worth of experience into every three months. They began to teach her and spend more time making sure she had fun. Kalia was a genius, she got a bit of something from each parent and grasped things quickly. There was a lot to learn, but each lesson was fun and never felt like a burden for the young girl.
Learning to ride a broom and do ballet, learning her numbers and letters, the dos and don'ts, etiquette and manners, the olde ways and the mundane ways, an introduction to the history of both Wizarding and Mundane worlds. She learned quite a bit before she reached six months. She loved each and everything she learned, having a passion for knowledge. That didn't mean she didn't get up to pranks with her Baba and Papa.
With the second birthday passing, Kalia got some new lessons added into her schedule. Languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Latin, French, Russian, and Bulgarian. One language at a time and once she reached near fluency, they moved to the next while continuing keeping the fluency sharp by speaking it as she learned to write it. Along with the added languages, she got more dance lessons, swimming, and now gymnastics.
Kalia went through another three rituals. One which matured her magic, one which strengthened her body, and one which crafted pathways, so she didn't need a wand. The final ritual was an old and secret Potter family ritual only performed on the heir.
Potter Cottage in Godric's Hollow, under the Fidelius Charm, was full of life and laughter. From pranks and sports to lessons in just about everything. English was spoken less and less, each language having its own day. Kalia was a happy child who was slowly losing her naivety and innocence through knowledge and lessons rather than the harsh wounds learning the hard way leaves. More magic went around the house, little spells taught to Kalia used in pranks and little things. Magic became less accidental and more focused.
Nine months, three years, and three new rituals. Enhancing the memory, senses, and creativity. With this new milestone came Kalia's first shift into a wolf. It wasn't an Animagus transformation, no, her bones broke, her skin felt flexible, and then a wolf was standing in her place. Her parents took this new change in strides, adding lessons and learning all they could about wolves, teaching her to embrace her instincts and how to make use of everything she had.
Lessons upped their level of difficulty. Learning about arithmetic, science, charms, transfiguration, etcetera. Kalia lived a life of freedom and learning. Physically training her mind, body, and magic each day. The speed of life in Potter Cottage was so fast and unique that James, Lily, and Sirius found themselves feeling younger and more powerful as time went by and they got a more balanced repertoire.
The first actual year had passed and with it the fourth birthday as well. In this time, Kalia became less of a child and more of a preteen. Lessons never lost their difficulty as her parents always upped it when Kalia learned enough. Boredom wasn't a thing for her. When she wasn't sitting and learning, she was racing around. Kalia matured the most in the 'year'. She learned of the cruel world, that humans needed to be seen with caution, that trust was to be earned.
The three rituals of this 'year' were to weaken her weaknesses. Silver had never been an issue, but wolfsbane was now no more than an annoyance. Her healing was sped up as was her stamina.

FORCING HER BODY YOUNGER wasn't comfortable, but Kalia did it as a guest would be coming that night. She didn't know who, but her parents were expecting their friend. She didn't know when she fell asleep, but when she woke, she was still wrapped in her blanket, but she was in a basket with the stars above her and her pack bond frayed. A strained one connecting her to her Papa was all that was left.
She looked around and grew back to her normal size. She slipped out of her blanket, grabbed the letter that was next to her and read it. Tears fell from her eyes as she stood and began walking with her blanket wrapped around her. She set the letter on fire, dropping the ash into a garbage as she walked. If her parents were gone, she was alone, but she wouldn't live with the woman her mother despised.
Kalia walked for nearly six hours before dawn came. Her blanket had been transfigured into a hoodie. She decided that if she was going to be alone, then she would travel. She reached up and found the chain around her neck holding her trunk. Her parents had prepared her for the worst. Sneaking onto a flight to a random place, Kalia vowed to spend one of each of her years in a different place.
Kalia spent hours each day in a library. She enjoyed time in different studios for different things. She picked up skills and knowledge wherever she went. Getting a diploma on her sixteenth birthday, Kalia decided to settle in Portland as she wouldn't age much more for a very long time. She invested a lot of money during her travels so she didn't need a job, but she got one anyways.
