The Things We Bury (Part 1)
AN - Ok so I'm going to be switching back to the past a few times in this and maybe the next chapters but I want to explain a little - since I got rid of Skye's mom I'm having Reinhardt/Whitehall meet a future version of Daisy (basically she's going to get sent back to the past after rescuing Jemma from the monolith) and when she's in the past she gets captured and Reinhardt/Whitehall sees that she can hold the obelisk but she disguised herself as someone new but basically she can hold the obelisk then escapes stops Bucky from killing Tony's parents which I won't completely spoil just yet but he still grows up thinking they are dead, she also is with the howling commandos and Steve/Bucky for a bit before that but yeah then years later gets captured again when Reinhardt/Whitehall gets released from jail but obviously she hasn't aged (and she's started developing a following of people who believe in her and her powers which is when she starts gaining some of the titles listed in her temple) and that's when he experiments on her and regains his youth then she escapes and gets sent back forwards in time through the monolith and time catches up (so Whitehall will basically end up thinking that the future version of Daisy is her mom) but yeah - that won't happen for a bit obviously. Just have to come up with another name for her to go by when she's in the past - suggestions are welcome! I want it to be something that would fit into Steve/Bucky's time period and appropriate for someone who's pretending to be a gifted military nurse working for Peggy who then gets orders to work with the howling commandos. I might also just throw in a chapter with a quick description/photo of each of her disguises sometime soon. Anyways onto the story - oh and I'm going to be throwing in a little of Zeus's POV and I'm thinking - same guy from Percy Jackson cuz who doesn't love Sean Bean! He's also in Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones for anyone who doesn't recognize him.
(Future/Past version of Daisy with the different braided hairstyles cuz they're awesome! Like I said - just need to figure out what name to give this disguise - for the sites that don’t show photos - Marie Avgeropoulos)
The Past/1945/3rd Person POV
"Please, have a seat," Wernal Reinhardt said indicating that the woman in front of him should sit in the chair.
The guards dropped her in the chair in front of The Obelisk. Her eyes go down to The Obelisk as Reinhardt/Whitehall spoke.
"Do not be afraid. Feel free to pick it up, examine it," Reinhardt said. The woman looked up at him then back down to The Obelisk. "Please."
She looked down at the floor and spotted a burned finger lying on the ground. One of the guards shoved her closer to The Obelisk. She stood up from the chair but the guard restrained her accidently knocking over The Obelisk. He turned her back toward the table and forced her head down close to The Obelisk.
"No! Please, don't! Don't do this!" She pleaded.
"Discovery requires experimentation," Reinhardt told her.
The guard pushed against her moving her face closer to The Obelisk. When her cheek made contact, instead of burning her it began to glow gold. (Unlike when Raina touches it - it turns orange; because she's a half-blood) The two guards holding her down released her in astonishment. She lifted her face a bit and looked down at The Obelisk. She sat in the chair and took The Obelisk into her hands as her breathing steadied.
"Remarkable," Reinhardt commented. The woman just stared at The Obelisk in her hands as Reinhard moved to stand in front of her. "What makes you so special?" She looked up at him, almost guiltily, and set The Obelisk back down. "I think it wise we prepare her for surgery. We must examine exactly what makes her tick," he suddenly said.
A new guard ran into the room getting his attention.
"Herr Dr. Reinhardt, Red Skull has fallen. He's dead. The allies approach!" He exclaimed breathlessly.
Reinhardt shook his head disappointed.
"The world has lost a great mind," he said. The woman's eyes go back to The Obelisk as movement happened all around her. "Put her in a cage. We'll unravel this mystery later, yes?"
The guards took a hold of her arms, pulled her out of the chair, and led her from the room.

Present Day/ 3rd Person POV
"I've had this information for decades. Bring him in," Whitehall said, referring to the strange man who had recently approached him claiming to have information on the Obelisk (Daisy's Father) "It's time to prove your claim, that you're an expert on this Diviner.
"I could have saved you weeks of work. Instead, you kept scratching and pawing at it like a monkey. Expecting new results, the very definition of insanity," Zeus pointed out.
He took a step closer to Whitehall, suddenly all the guards in the room, (4 of them) pulled their guns and aimed them at his head. With an awkward smile on his face he looked at the guards.
"Mr. Bakshi's disappearance has everyone on edge. These men will remain in case your temper returns," Whitehall told him.
"Not necessary, I assure you," said Zeus. He gave him a warm smile which he kept on his face as he turned so all the guards could see it. "Cool as a cucumber. Smart to play it safe. Tell me what you do know, sir, and I'll fill in the blanks."
The guards lowered their guns.
"I know that a special few can touch it without suffering." Whitehall walked over to the desk where the tablet sat. "But I have yet to figure out how this weapon can be –"
Zeus's eyebrows quickly go up.
"Weapon? That's so small minded," he said with a laugh. "Uh, for someone with such a big mind," he added as an afterthought. He walked closer to Whitehall, shadowed the whole way by the guards. "It's a key. It can kill, sure, but only to protect itself from those it doesn't divine, hence the catchy name, to be worthy," he informed Whitehall - though having zero plans of telling the man that the device had been made for his own daughter centuries ago as a way to determine who in the future would become The Destroyer/The Savior of Universes.
"I'm interested in science, doctor, not folklore," Whitehall scoffed.
"Worthy of unlocking its true power," added. Whitehall tilted his head to Zeus, listening intently. "Ah, I got your attention. There's a place and if one of those special people you speak of takes this Diviner to that special place, it won't just kill. It will do something, scientifically speaking, much, much cooler," Zeus told him.

Daisy's POV
"Didn't want to crack him yourself?" I asked Coulson as I walked into the briefing room on the BUS.
"Bobbi's as good as they come. My job now is to keep an eye on the big picture," he replied.
"Bet she's not as good as Nat," I said smugly as he just looked at me. "And you found something to chase," I changed topics.
"Fury. I've been thinking a lot about what made him such a good director. His communication skills, flawed. But he could always see five steps ahead, which, for a one eyed man is impressive.," Coulson said.
"He knew his enemies," I pointed out.
"And for better or worse, he could think like them. Whitehall has a weapon that's unpredictable, but he's not. I don't want to be in a foot race to stop him. I want to be waiting at the finish line!" Coulson declared.
"Which is the city," I said, realizing what he was getting at.
Coulson swiped his hand over the Holotable getting rid of the feed from the vault and replacing it with the image of the city made up of the alien symbols.
"That's where I believe the Obelisk will lead HYDRA."

"What are we gonna to do, storm Oahu?" Coulson said sarcastically as he noticed Trip and I arming ourselves.
"We don't know yet," I told him.
"Ditch the guns," he instructed, setting down the case in his hands as he turned to me and Trip. "Take this."
"What is it?" I asked.
"It's a watch," I gave him a "duh" look as I rolled my eyes. "Deliver it to Cam, the owner of the Kahananui Repair Shop. Here." He handed me a piece of paper, which I took. "It'll need the following inscription. "Dearest Darren, I count the seconds we're apart. Love, your Island Flower". You got that?"
"Island Flower," got it. Anything else?" I repeated.
"If it starts to leak any fluids, drop it, run!" He said.
I held the watch more gingerly now as Trip leaned over and took a look at it curious now.
"This does not sound like a watch," I said concerned.
"Take this to the Ka Pua dry cleaners on Makamoimo Street," he said to Trip as he handed him a small item that looked like a pin of some sort.
"Maka-what now?" said Trip.
"Not the one on Hookelewaa," Coulson warned.
"Am I good with this in my pocket?" Trip asked as he slide it into his front pocket.
"That depends, you ever want kids?" Coulson told him, causing Trip to take it back out of his pocket and hold it just as gingerly as I was holding the watch. "And bring back the blue tie."
"You got it, sir?" Trip said.
"Get back here ASAP. This bus has to be wheels up in 40 minutes," Coulson instructed.

3rd Person POV
"Hmm. And that's why it's called the Diviner," Whitehall asked.
"Yeah. It decides who lives, who dies...who will inherit the Earth," Zeus told him, once again leaving out the part about his daughter being the one to inherit the Earth. Sure, it was unclear in mythology whether she would end up destroying the Universe or saving it but he had complete faith in her, but she wouldn't be able to do anything until she was at her full power, which couldn't happen until she activated them by getting rid of her doppelgängers so that the diviner could recognize who she was. At the moment her powers were still split between one other version and the diviner wouldn't work properly until all divine powers were back in one body. Once she did, it wasn't a weapon at all, but Zeus knew the only way to get the diviner to his daughter was to trick Whitehall - sure it had a self defense mechanism but that was all.
"And only someone who can carry the Diviner is allowed to enter the city?" Whitehall confirmed.
"Or, more importantly, the temple inside. But I can get you in," Zeus said.
"And if I let you take a team, where will you take them? How do you intend to find this city?"
"Well, I'll have to look everywhere really, really hard," Zeus replied sarcastically.
"I'm not giving you men and money on the off chance that you'll find this place," said Whitehall. "Or if you do, that you'll not take its true power for yourself," Whitehall looked over at Zeus suspiciously, not knowing that he had no need for more power. He already owned the earth - it was his job to make sure his daughter inherited it from him when the time came.
"Me?" Zeus scoffed. "Nah! No, I'm not management material." He walked out from in front of Whitehall putting distance between himself and The Obelisk. "I'll leave that power part to you."
"Then why? What do you have to gain?" asked Whitehall.
"I have nothing to lose. I've lost everything important to me," Zeus looked down and grabbed the bag he had been looking through. "And I want to kill those who took it...and finally have my family reunited. He turned with his bag in his hand and walked away from Whitehall.

"Hey. Whatever you're doing, just take a break!" I told Fitz as I saw him slam his fist down on the table in frustration.
Fitz got up from the chair walking away as I strode over to the table and looked at the components.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Coulson has me patching a transceiver into a system that's not even meant to handle one," he replied.
"You can do that in your sleep," Trip assured him.
"In my sleep, yes I'm quite good at it. Problem is, I'm awake," Fitz complained as he shook out his left hand. I wished again that I had the power to heal other people. "I think Coulson's testing me."
"Coulson doesn't roll that way. If he has you in the dark, it's for a reason," Trip assured him.
"Mm. Or just keeping me busy," Fitz argued.
"I just gave a button to a 300 pound Hawaiian dude. Look, we've been through some crazy, we two especially, but the whole time Coulson's been our anchor," Trip said. "He may seem lost sometimes, but he's always got a plan."
Coulson picked that moment to come down the spiral staircase joining us. Trip handed him the box he was holding.
"O captain, my captain. One blue necktie," he said as he gave it over.
"Any complications out there?" Coulson asked.
"Kept waiting for that other shoe," I shrugged.
"Great. Everything's in motion then, except The Bus," Coulson looked at Trip. "Get us airborne."
"Where to, sir?" Trip asked.
"Australian outback. We got a satellite network to steal and very little time," replied Coulson.
"Copy that," Trip headed to the cockpit, Fitz sat back at the table and I walked up to Coulson.
"What's the story with the tie?" I asked.
"It was a gift from Audrey and I spilled poi all over it," he answered. He looked from the tie to Fitz. "Under six minutes. You can do it."
