Oh how I love you
Tony barely slept.
He woke up in the middle of the night to Peter practically sleeping on top of him and his legs in his face so Tony pushed him over and tried to fall back asleep but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t.
He eventually got out of bed to go to the kitchen to grab some much needed pills to stop the pounding headache he felt coming on. It felt like a head cold but he wasn’t going to accept that right now.
There was no time for him to get sick. No time at all.
Peter needed him at all times right now, he had a video conference call in a day and Rose was supposed to be coming soon to talk with them.
Tony already had a fight with Peter over him not wearing pull-ups to bed. Tony knew that Peter was lazy at this point and didn’t want to have to wake up to use the toilet but Tony eventually got him to bed without any pull-ups which was a win.
He couldn’t have that fight again tonight if he was sick. It just wasn’t an option.
Tony unlocked the medicine cabinet, struggling with the safety locks he had on it so Peter couldn’t wander inside. He managed to get it open and searched for some Advil, dry swallowing two pills and closing his eyes.
He was so tired but he didn’t know why he couldn’t sleep. He just wanted to fall asleep but sleeping with an octopus didn’t help his situation.
When Tony got back upstairs, he went to crawl back into bed but the bed was wet. He sighed loudly. Not now.
Tony moved the blankets back and felt Peter’s pyjama pants just to be sure it was what he thought it was and he was right. He was too tired to deal with this right now but he had to.
He turned the lamp on and removed all the blankets. After Peter started sleeping with him, he added a mattress cover to protect the bed, for situations like this and it came in handy.
Tony patted Peter’s leg to wake him up. “Pete, wake up.” He hated waking Peter up in the middle of the night but he didn’t really have a choice right now.
Peter was rolling onto his side and stretching. “What?”
Tony was already starting to take off the sheets, wanting to get this done with as soon as possible. “Put a pull-up on.”
Peter rubbed at his eyes when he noticed that the bed was wet, along with his pyjama pants. “Mm. Grab it for me.”
Peter kicked off his wet pyjama pants and held his hand out for the pull-up but Tony was feeling like he was about to pass out. He laid down but once his head hit the pillow, he was out, bed half made and lamp still on.
.
.
.
Peter woke up pressed up against the bed rail. He shivered at the blankets having been kicked off the bed instead of on him and opened his eyes to look around the room.
His dad was still asleep on the other side of the bed and the sun was shining in, making Peter’s eyes burn. He grabbed part of the sheet to cover himself up the best he could but it was cold and wet so it didn’t offer any warmth.
Peter moaned as he stretched on the bed then sat up to crawl over to his dad. “Dad. Wake up. I’m awake now.”
Tony didn’t move so Peter sat up on his knees to lean over his overheating body. “Dad, you’re all sweaty. Wake up.”
Finally, Tony was rolling onto his other side and opening his eyes to look at Peter. “Go to sleep.”
Peter groaned. He wasn’t tired anymore but as he was about to say that, Tony was pulling him against himself and hugging Peter against his chest. Peter shifted to get more comfortable since he loved cuddles from his dad, especially since he was super warm.
After a few minutes though, he was getting restless and impatient so he tried to get out of his arms but he couldn’t so Peter began fake crying so his dad would wake up and let him go which worked.
Now that Peter was out of his arms, he sat up and whimpered loudly. “Dad, wake up. I-I wanna go downstairs with you and cuddle on the couch. Not in here. And-and the beds all wet and it smells.”
Tony listened to Peter but it sounded so muffled. He opened his eyes and watched Peter play with a tiny string from a pillow. Just as he was about to close his eyes to pretend he didn’t hear Peter, Peter was looking at him and grinning.
“Yay. Can you make me waffles in the waffle marker for breakfast? I’m super hungry. And I want um… what’s the red juice called? I want that. And syrup.” Peter crawled towards the end of the bed and slid off of it before walking over to his box of pull-ups. “I wanna wear one today. Not my underwear.”
Tony didn’t have the energy to fight Peter on this so he sat up and rubbed at his eyes. “Sure.”
“Yay. Help me.”
Tony didn’t have the energy to fight with Peter on anything today so he helped Peter then went into the bathroom to go pee, brush his teeth and change his pyjamas since they were half wet from Peter’s pee that was still in the bed and his sweat.
He looked in the mirror at himself and cringed. He looked so bad. His face was pale and he had extremely bad under eye circles that made him look like death.
Peter was knocking on the bathroom door which gave Tony an immediate headache so he opened it so his pounding headache didn’t get any worse.
Peter was then walking past him and into the bathroom. He was dressed in track pants that were backwards and from the dirty laundry pile, according to the stains all over it.
“Hurry up.”
Tony walked into the bedroom just as Pepper was walking in. “Hey. I thought you guys got lost or something up here. It’s so late.”
As she walked closer to Tony, she froze. “Woah. Are you okay? You look awful.”
Tony scuffed. He couldn’t be sick. Not now.
Peter, completely oblivious to Tony’s sickness, followed him out of the bedroom and downstairs into the kitchen. Peter opened up the fridge as Tony opened up the cabinet with the good drugs to feel better.
“I wanna see.” Peter pushed past his dad’s arm to see what he was doing. “I want it. Let me have some too.”
“It’s not candy, Peter.” Tony took two more Advil’s and then filled a glass up with water to wash it down this time.
Pepper was walking up to him and placing a cold hand on his forehead. “You’re burning up, Tony. You look awful. I think you’re sick.”
Tony waved her off. “I’m not sick. Peter wants to make waffles so let’s get started.”
“Yay. We need um… what do we need?”
Tony tried to stop his head from spinning. Pepper was rubbing at his back. “Tony, you’re sick.”
“No. No, I’m fine. I need a coffee and I’ll feel better. Can you help Peter get the stuff out?”
Pepper didn’t move from her spot next to Tony. “Then let’s check your temperature and see.”
She opened up the cabinet that had all kinds of thermometers and pulled the one out that was a simple forehead scan. Before Tony could say anything, the thermometer was beeping and she was reading it out. “101.5. You’re sick. Go back to bed. I’ll take care of Peter.”
Tony wanted to argue but going back to bed sounded super nice right now. “Uh, yeah. Actually, Peter wet the bed last night so I have to clean that up first.”
Pepper patted his back. “I can go clean it-”
“No, it’s fine. I’ll do it quickly.” Tony hoped Peter didn’t whine and beg him not to go anywhere. “Pete, I’m not feeling good so I’m gonna go lie down upstairs for a bit.”
Peter snapped his head to look at him. “What? Why aren’t you feeling good?”
“I’m sick, bud. So I’m gonna go lie down-”
“I’ll come with you.”
Tony knew if Peter came with him, he wouldn’t get any sleep. “No, you stay here with Pepper.”
“I have a meeting with SI in an hour but he’ll be fine by himself for a bit.” Pepper told Tony and if he was more alert, he would say that that’s not a good idea but all he was thinking about was his bed.
“Yeah… I’ll probably only rest for about an hour.” Tony went to walk away but Peter was chasing after him.
“No. Stay with me. Please, daddy.” Peter used his puppy dog eyes and lifted his arms up for his dad but Tony wasn’t picking him up.
“I’ll be back. I’m sick, baby.”
“Why’re you sick?”
Tony smiled, despite feeling awful. “I’m sick because… I just am. So I’ll be back.” Tony gave a quick hug to Peter before leaving.
Peter stood there and watched his dad walk up the stairs. He usually skipped a few steps when he went up but now he wasn’t so Peter knew it was because he was sick and Peter wanted to do something special for his dad.
“He needs rest, Peter, but we can have fun together. Do you want to eat a quick breakfast then go do something fun?” Peter tried to think of what Pepper’s idea of fun was. His dad’s idea of fun was cuddling on the couch or working in his lab and those were coincidentally Peter’s idea of fun too.
“Like what?”
“We can build legos together and watch a movie while we build.” Pepper suggested and it was fine with Peter so after breakfast, they both headed over to the living room and sat down on the carpet.
“I’m gonna build um, the tower and I want you to build the house in Miami.” Peter dumped out the giant bin of random lego pieces and spread them out so the two of them could start building.
Pepper got started, having no idea what she was doing so she decided to start a conversation with Peter while she built. “Do you miss Miami, Peter?”
Peter thought about it. He always wanted to be in Miami so he could swim freely in the ocean and lie in the sun but he was happy anywhere his dad was. “Yeah. And I liked your house too and when I went to that big play thing that one day.”
“Maybe one day we can all go back. I’m going back to Malibu at the end of the week so maybe one day you and Tony could visit.”
Peter sat so he was more comfortable with his legs bent out. “Noo! I don’t want you to leave.”
“It’s okay, I’ll be back soon.” Pepper couldn’t get over how adorable Peter was and the fact that she was realizing just how much she loved him.
“You can live here with us and sleep in your bedroom.”
Pepper smiled, reaching over to gently caress Peter’s cheek. “My bedroom is right across from yours. We’re neighbours.”
“Uh no.” Peter shook his head. “My bedroom is at the end of the hallway where dad’s bedroom is. We share.”
Pepper decided not to talk about the most sensitive topic in the house. No one dared to bring it up with Peter, including Tony himself. The ultimate Peter whisperer.
Peter moved to grab a lego across the floor and that’s when Pepper saw it. Peter’s pants were slightly down and his shirt was tucked behind his pull-up. She sighed. “Peter.”
“Yeah?” Peter innocently asked.
“You’re wearing a pull-up?”
Peter nodded, not taking his eyes off his legos. “It’s mine and dad said I could.”
Pepper pictured Peter asking Tony this morning when he was still half asleep and dead to the world with his cold. “But the doctor said your kidneys are all better now. You don’t need to wear it anymore.”
Peter bounced a bit with annoyance. “No. I want to.”
“You don’t want to wear your new underwear that your dad bought you?” Pepper briefly saw the underwear’s but she knew Tony knew Peter best and that’s why he got those designs.
Peter kicked his legs out and rolled onto his stomach. “No. Not without daddy.”
Pepper patted Peter’s back and stood up, holding her hand out for him. “Let’s go together. Come on.” She forcefully pulled Peter to his feet, now understanding why Tony tossed Peter around like a doll since he was as light as a feather.
Peter rubbed dramatically at his dry eyes and followed her upstairs.
“But dad’s sleeping.” Peter said once he realized where they were going.
“Then we have to be really quiet.” She whispered before pausing in front of Tony’s bedroom. “I’ll quickly go in to get your underwear so you stay out here.”
Peter tried to peek inside when she opened the door. He could see his dad asleep on the bed and he wanted so badly to go and wake him up to get some cuddles in but he knew he couldn’t. He had to let him rest.
Pepper walked out with the underwear and shut the door behind her. “Let’s go into your room now.” Pepper began walking but Peter didn’t move. If he focused, he could hear his dad’s heartbeat and he liked that. “Would you like to change in the hallway?”
Peter crossed his arms. He liked when his dad helped him. “I don’t want to wear underwear. My dad said I didn’t have to.”
Pepper wasn’t going to give into what Peter wanted because what he wanted was ridiculous and she wasn’t going to let him wear a pull-up because he was too lazy to get up and actually go pee in the toilet.
Pepper opened up Peter’s bedroom door and walked into the room, pulling Peter in with her and shutting the door behind them.
“Here you go.” She handed Peter his underwear and sat down on the bed. “I’ll wait here while you go change in the bathroom.”
Peter whimpered and looked at her to see her reaction. His dad usually gave in but Pepper didn’t look like she was going to give in. He remembers back when he was thirteen when he didn’t meet Pepper yet, he was so scared of her and then after he met her, he felt intimidated by her but now, he was comfortable around her.
“I don’t want to.” Peter sat on the ground and went to crawl towards his closet but Pepper was standing up and shutting the door, standing in front of it. “You’re mean.”
“You’re not listening to me, Peter. Go get changed in the bathroom.”
“I want to get changed out here.” Peter straightened his legs and looked up at Pepper for her reaction.
“Then get changed in here, I’ll go grab something from my room and come back.” With that, Pepper left.
Peter stayed on the floor for a little bit while he debated on what to do. If he was with his dad, he would have started crying so his dad gave in and then demanded Tony help him but he didn’t think Pepper was going to help him. She was strict. And kinda scary.
With that, he decided to kick off his pants and pull-up and replace it with underwear instead. It was a different feeling that he now had to get used to but he didn’t want to get in trouble so he listened to Pepper.
He put his track pants back on and waited for Pepper to walk back in.
Pepper observed the room and smiled, grateful that Peter listened to her. “Good job, Peter. Now, when you need to go pee, you can go pee in the toilet.”
Peter turned to shove his face into his carpet. “I know. I’m fourteen. Not a baby.”
She tried to stop the laugh that threatened to escape. After what she just had to get Peter to do, it was quite comical. “That’s true. So how about you stand up and we’ll head downtown.”
“I’m gonna crawl downstairs like a crab.” Peter said then quickly crawled out of the room and down the hallway.
Pepper smiled fondly at the boy. She never got to see this side of him enough. Peter was always with Tony and acting crazy around him but it was funny to watch.
Once they got to the stairs, Pepper decided to cut in now to stop the fun. “Okay, crab boy. Stand up and walk down the stairs so you don’t hurt yourself.”
Peter sat on his knees, debating on what to do. “I want to crawl down it.”
“No. Stand up.” Pepper got on the stairs and stood in front of Peter. “Right now.”
Peter was looking up at Pepper, giving her a dirty look. “That’s mean.”
“I have to go to a quick meeting in the lower levels so you’re gonna stay here by yourself.”
Peter looked down at Pepper’s outfit and realized that she was wearing a dress and heels. He didn’t know how he didn’t notice before. “Not alone. My dad’s here. I want Steve to come up to play with me. Tell him to bring my kitten too.”
“The team went on a mission.” Pepper didn’t know how much Tony told Peter about these things, she only knew because Tony was sleeping and he gave her access to this information. She had access to everything Tony had access to.
Peter had access to nothing. Tony didn’t trust his extremely young and curious child having access to certain Stark tech and doors that led to that Stark tech.
Peter bounced on his butt. “I want my kitten. He misses me.”
Pepper sighed. After Peter’s injury and him nearly dying, Steve agreed to take care of the kitten for Tony. The whole team fell in love with him so the kitten was currently living on their floor. Tony had yet to decide whether or not he wanted to have it come live with him and Peter as of right now.
“How about we go get him and then you can play with him up here until I get back, but only if you walk down the stairs and hold the railing.” Pepper didn’t need Tony’s son getting hurt on her watch.
They were quick to grab the kitten and get back to their floor. After Pepper gave strict instructions to Peter on what he could and couldn’t do, she left.
Peter wanted to do something nice for his dad.
He knew he was sick but his dad was always there for him when he was sick so Peter wanted to do something nice for him. So, Peter carried Mimzy into the kitchen and placed him on the counter. “Be a good kitten and stay. I have to cook.”
Peter couldn’t reach the stove buttons at the top so he pulled up a chair to stand on it.
“Peter, Boss has restricted your access to use the stove.” FRIDAY told him but Peter ignored her.
He began to press all the buttons but nothing was turning on so he moved over to the oven but that didn’t work either. “Turn it on, FRIDAY. I have to cook for my dad. He’s technically your dad too because he made you so turn it on.”
“I suggest making your dad something that doesn’t require using heat.”
Peter groaned and jumped off the chair. This was so stupid. He just wanted to do something nice and he wasn’t even allowed to use the stove.
“Fine.” Peter tried to think about what to do. He opened up the fridge and looked around. He spotted his yogurt drink so he drank that while he got his ingredients out.
Peter decided to make a tray of different options. That way, his dad could decide what to eat.
Peter got out the meat slices, apples, strawberries, blueberries, cheese and Peppers. He giggled at the Pepper’s because it reminded him of Pepper.
In the cabinet, Peter grabbed some Cheetos and crackers. Now, it was time to place it all on a tray and make it look pretty.
It was hard to slice up the fruits on the table since it was high up and he couldn’t comfortably cut the food up so Peter squatted down so he could cut it on the floor on a plate.
Peter ended up eating half of the strawberries because he just couldn’t help it. It tasted so good.
Next, he had to roll the chicken slices up like his dad always did but it was so hard to do. He managed and pinned it down by piling crackers on top with the cheese.
Peter opened up one of the bottom cabinets and went to pull out the bag of flour but the bag fell over and spread flour everywhere. Peter coughed, feeling the powder go into his nose and mouth and now it was all over his clothes so he stood up to brush it off.
“Oh no. It’s all over the floor, FRIDAY. Mmm.” Peter groaned. He would have to clean up the mess later. Or… he could get Dum-E and U to clean it up for him. Peter loved his father’s creations and hadn't seen them for a while so he would get them up here to help him.
“FRIDAY, tell Dum-E and U to come up to help me.” Peter said then walked out of the kitchen, leaving a flour footprint trail behind him.
“I cannot send them up unless I have Bosses orders.” FRIDAY said, once again, being unhelpful and rude.
Peter was going to give up but then he thought of something. His dad usually had all the codes for things like this in his office so Peter went to go see what he could find.
Peter walked over to the chair and sat down but he got a bit distracted in it since it was comfortable but he only ever sat in it on his dads lap.
There was a bubble popping up on Tony’s computer so Peter tapped on it, surprised when two faces popped up.
“Mr. Stark. We thought we’d give you a call but- oh. What the hell.” One of the men through the screen said, looking at Peter. Peter stared at him. “Who are you?”
“I think that’s Stark's kid.” The other guy was saying. “Hi Uh, where’s Mr. Stark? Where’s your daddy, kid?”
Peter frowned. These men were talking to him like he was five. “I’m fourteen.”
“... alright. Maybe go get your dad.” The first guy was saying but Peter crossed his arms and sat up on his knees.
“No. He’s busy. I was just looking for something but I’m done talking to you now.” Peter clicked the button at the bottom of the screen to end the call. He sighed. He wasn’t going to find anything in here.
“FRIDAY, please. Daddy’s sick and-and I want Dum-E and U to come help me. Pretty please. I-I’ll be your best friend. We’re siblings, FRIDAY. Please.”
Peter used his puppy dog eyes but he didn’t even know where he was supposed to look. He knew FRIDAY had cameras all around the tower but he didn’t actually know where they were.
“Since there is no protocol preventing Dum-E and U from coming upstairs, I will send them up.”
Peter jumped up and down in his excitement. He was so excited.
When the elevator doors were opening, both bots were coming out faster than Peter expected them too. They were beeping in their excitement at being on the penthouse floor for possibly the first time and at seeing Peter.
“Follow me. Don’t go in the living roo- hey, don’t you listen? I said don’t go in the living room. Clean up my mess in the kitchen or I’ll send you back downstairs.” Peter led both bots into the kitchen but they were loud and clumsy.
Peter tried to hand them each a wet cloth to clean up the mess but they ended up bumping into each other and chasing after Peter when he went to run out. “Stop! It’s not funny. I’m trying to clean and you guys are being bad.”
Peter sighed. He would just have to bring his dad’s food up for him along with a drink.
Filling up a cup of apple juice, Peter took the first sip and tried to carry both the apple juice and the tray of food upstairs.
He spilled some juice in the hallway a bit on his way to the bedroom so by the time he got to his dad’s room, the cup was mostly half empty. That’s what he gets for not taking two trips.
Peter placed the tray on the bed and crawled on, holding the apple juice with one hand. “Dad, wake up. I made you food to make you feel better.”
Peter leaned over his dad but accidentally spilled some juice over his face. “Oops.”
That had Tony waking up. He wiped at his face and looked over at Peter. He had to blink a few times to make sure what he was seeing was right. Peter had flour in his hair, all over his face and his clothes. There were red food stains on his cheeks as well as his shirt.
Tony wanted to go back to sleep and deal with this mess later but Peter wouldn’t let him.
“Dad. Look, I know you’re super sick so I wanted to make you feel better.” Peter pushed the tray of food closer.
“Oh.” Tony rubbed at his eyes and sat up, leaning against his pillow. The food looked nasty. It looked like Peter cut it up with a plastic fork. “Oh wow. This looks delicious.”
Peter smiled proudly. “And look, I even rolled up the chicken like you do.”
Tony looked at the rolled up meat but that was the last thing he wanted to eat. Although the strawberries looked good… “Did you take bites out of these?”
Peter smiled shyly and turned one over. “Just some. And- but I couldn’t even use the stove because FRIDAY said no.”
“Why are you covered in all that white stuff? Is that flour?” Tony wiped his thumb over Peter’s cheek to see what it was.
“Oh, yeah. I spilled the bag on the kitchen floor.” Peter said nonchalantly.
Tony took a calming breath. He did not want to see the kitchen of the rest of the house for that matter.
“Wow. Well… thank you.” Tony swallowed and pushed himself up a bit. Besides for a slight headache, he was feeling better. It must have been a twenty four hour bug. He hoped.
He could have gone for a few more hours of sleep but apparently Peter could not be left unattended at all.
“Eat some strawberries.” Peter picked one up and shoved it in his own mouth. “It was hard to cut it on the table so I cut it on the floor.”
Tony nodded. He was so scared to go downstairs.
“Alright. Come here.” He held his arms out for Peter but Peter shook his head and ate another strawberry. “Hey. I want a kiss. Come.”
Peter ate another strawberry and crawled over the tray to be in Tony’s arms.
Tony picked Peter up and put his hand under Peter’s butt and gasped. “You’re wearing underwear.”
“Yeah. Pepper said I wasn’t allowed wearing a pull-up.” Peter told him with his mouth full.
Tony was so happy. “I’m so proud of you, baby. Did you go pee yet?”
Despite Peter wearing underwear for two days, he had yet to go pee in the actual toilet. Once was in his pants, also on Tony’s pants and the other was in the bed. Tony didn’t want any more accidents.
Peter plopped another strawberry in his mouth and bounced on Tony’s leg. “Hey, chew first, then bounce. Actually, no. Stop bouncing on my leg. Did you go pee?”
“No.”
“Do you need to go?”
“Nope.”
“Can you go try?”
“No.”
Tony grabbed Peter and lifted him up so he wasn’t sitting on him anymore. “Then you can’t sit on me.”
Peter immediately stopped bouncing and stuck out his bottom lip. “Why not?”
“Because I don’t wanna get peed on.” Tony got out of bed. “Take notes. I’m going to pee in the toilet, flush and wash my hands. Three things you don’t do.”
Peter hit his hand out. “Rude.”
By the time Tony was finished in the bathroom, Peter ended up eating all the strawberries and moved onto the cheese. “Are you gonna come sit back down with me?”
Tony thought about it although the inevitable mess downstairs was making him extremely anxious so he walked towards the door. “Not right now. Let’s go downstairs and see the damage.”
Peter slid off the bed. He left Dum-E and U down there to clean it up so he hoped they did a good job for his dad. “No damage. I-I Wanna go get ice cream, dad. Can we go now?”
“Not today. And we’re not doing anything until you pee so forget about it.” Tony didn’t feel like leaving the house and he knew Peter wasn’t going to willingly sit on the toilet anytime soon.
He got to the middle of the stairs when he saw what his living room looked like and froze. There were tiny footprints everywhere which were Peter’s but what made his jaw drop was the fact that both Dum-E and U were there driving around the living room and spreading flour everywhere.
He looked down at Peter to see his reaction and Peter didn’t even seem phased which made him even more annoyed. “What’s all this?”
Tony began walking down the stairs and towards his first babies who stopped to stare at him. “What the hell.”
Both bots began wheeling towards him but he didn’t want to see them. There was a reason why they weren’t allowed upstairs and this was that reason. They were as immature as Peter was but at least Peter he could pick up to get him to stop doing something bad.
“Peter, did you let them up?” When Tony didn’t hear an answer, he turned around to glare at Peter who was sitting on the stairs with his legs pulled up. The way he was grabbing onto the railing and peeking over his arm was adorable but Tony couldn’t focus on anything adorable right now when his house looked like this.
He didn’t even know how this was possible. He was only asleep for a few hours.
“Peter?” Tony asked again but Peter turned to run up the stairs so Tony was quick to grab him before he got very far. “No no no. You’re gonna clean up this mess.”
Peter arched his back like he always did when he didn’t want to be held, forcing Tony to put him down. Tony wondered if all kids did this technique or it had to be learnt.
“Dum-E, get away from him.” Tony warned his bot after he placed Peter on the floor and watched Dum-E race to Peter’s side. Tony knew that his boys sometimes got too over excited with Peter and were a bit too rough with him.
Dum-E slowly wheeled away but then U was making his way towards Peter so Tony forced Peter to stand up. “You too, U. Clean up that mess.”
Tony pulled Peter into the kitchen and handed him a wet dishcloth. “Wipe down the counters while I go get the broom and mop.”
Peter watched his dad leave but he began crying. He was trying to do something nice for his dad and now he was getting in trouble for it. “I-I didn’t mean to!”
Tony walked back into the kitchen and put both items to the side for now. “Aww, baby. What’s wrong?”
“I-I was try-trying to cook for you but FRIDAY said I’m not allowed but then I couldn’t so I made cheese and-and Dum-E just wanted to help.” Peter cried out. He tried to explain everything to his dad so he didn’t get in trouble or be forced to clean up.
Tony pulled Peter in for a hug but then Peter was raising his legs up so Tony would pick him up but Tony didn’t. They had to clean. “I’m not mad at you. I just think this is a really big mess and I don’t exactly know how it was possible but…” I’m not surprised “we’ll clean it up together.”
Now that Peter knew Tony wasn’t mad at him, he wiped at his eyes and grabbed everything he took out of the fridge to start putting it back in while Tony went to go deal with his bots that were rolling all over the place.
“Hey, you two,” He walked towards the elevator and led them over. “time to go back where you came from. Get in here.”
U began wheeling into the elevator but Dum-E decided to take his sweet time which was why Tony had no problem naming him Dum-E. “Move faster or I’ll gift you as an early birthday present for Steve.”
Once both of his bots were out of his sight and no longer a risk to his once clean house and Peter, we walked back into the kitchen to see how Peter was getting on.
He would have his bots up here more often if Peter was older but he honestly didn’t trust those two thousand pound bots with his barely seventy pound son.
Before, he would be worried about any valuables breaking in his penthouse but after he started bringing Peter over, way before Aunt May died, Tony basically Peter proofed the whole floor.
“When’s Steve’s birthday?” Peter asked from where he was sitting on the counter instead of cleaning.
“July fourth. If you’re not gonna clean then you need to go entertain yourself so I can clean. Okay?” Tony didn’t mind a messy house but a dirty house drove him crazy.
Peter stuck out his bottom lip. “I want you to play with me.”
“Nope.” Tony picked Peter up off the counter and awkwardly carried him over to the living room to watch tv for about thirty minutes. “You stay here and I’ll be finished soon.”
As soon as Tony placed the remote in Peter’s line of sight, Peter was all set to go.
Tony sighed. He went to finish putting everything away in the kitchen then wiped the counters down and picked up the broom to try and clean up most of the flour as possible. He couldn’t remember the last time he even sweeped.
“What happened in here? Where’s Peter?” Pepper asked, seeming to appear out of nowhere.
Tony wiped at his face and looked up at her. “The mess maker is in the living room. I have no idea how he managed to make such a mess.”
He went back to cleaning but felt Pepper watching him. “What?”
“Nothing. I shouldn’t have left him alone. I didn’t know.” Pepper put her bag down on the counter but Tony could tell something was on her mind.
“Hey, it’s fine. That’s Peter for you.” He tried to make her feel better since it wasn’t that big of a deal. FRIDAY was watching Peter twenty four seven so she would have woken Tony up if she found Peter doing something dangerous.
“Yeah, could we go talk somewhere? Without any ears possibly listening in?” Pepper sounded nervous and she never sounded nervous so it scared Tony a bit. He tried to think if Peter did or said something bad that she wanted to mention to him.
“Uh, yeah. Is everything okay?” He asked, quickly switching out the broom for the mop to mop up the kitchen and the trails that his bots made, as well as the tiny footprints.
“Let’s just go talk.” She gave Tony a weak smile and began walking towards the stairs, looking behind her to see if Tony was following her.
He started to panic, not knowing what this was about. “Hey, Pete. Don’t walk on the floors because it’s wet. I’ll be right back.” Peter was too busy watching his show and currently picking his nose to pay any attention to him so Tony left it and followed Pepper up.
She led him into her room and shut the door but he wasn’t in the mood for that right now. He still had a headache and innocent ears down there possibly able to hear them…
“I don’t feel like doing this right now, Pepper.” He went to walk out but she was blocking the door.
“No, I’m not…” Pepper sighed and walked over to her bed to sit down.
“If you’re mad about me not wanting to-”
“I’m late.” Pepper blurted out, stopping Tony in his tracks.
He tried to process what she just said. “You’re late?”
“Yes. I’m late and a few nights ago we had sex and now I’m late.” Pepper made eye contact with Tony for the first time since they got into her room.
Tony ran his hand through his hair. “Woah. Okay. Okay, I’m…. I don’t think it works like that, right? I mean, we just had sex and it takes a little while.”
Pepper stared at him. “I’m late, Tony. We didn’t use any protection and now I’m late.”
Tony sat down beside her on the bed but not touching. “Are you sure? I mean, how were we just in this situation? Like last month or something.”
“I can’t believe this.” Pepper said, mostly to herself. “I’m probably pregnant and you don’t even want a baby with me.”
Tony snapped his head to look at her and stood up. “What? I don’t want a baby because I already have a baby and he’s downstairs right now. I… I can’t have two kids in diapers. Peter’s still healing and is still wearing pull-ups.”
“I got him to put his underwear on today. He doesn’t need them anymore.” Pepper told him and Tony knew Pepper took Peter’s pull-up and gave him underwear but now he was thinking it was for the wrong reason.
“Wait… did you only do that because you might be pregnant? Because Peter shouldn’t be in diapers if there’s a baby on the way?” He asked, ready to walk out if the answer was yes.
“No. Absolutely not. I know he doesn’t need them anymore and I’m trying to help you so he doesn’t get used to it.” Pepper sighed. “I didn’t even realize until today when I was talking to a lady down in SI who’s pregnant and it made me think about when my last period was.”
Tony sat back down on the bed. “Alright. You need to take a pregnancy test then.”
Tony was freaking out.
He couldn’t do this. He couldn’t have another baby when he was putting all of his attention on Peter and that still wasn’t enough sometimes.
“What if I am? What are we going to do?”
Tony didn’t know. He didn’t even want to think about that right now. He didn’t want any more kids since one was enough for him.
“Can we not talk about that right now. Just… pee on a stick.” He stood up and went to leave but Pepper was giving him such a dirty look when he turned back to look at her. “Okay. I didn’t mean it like that.”
“This is a big deal, Tony. I could be pregnant and it’s with your baby.” She stood up to stand in front of him. “This is the second time this has happened in a short time and I don’t want to go through this again so maybe we should stop having sex with each other.”
Tony grabbed her arm when she went to leave. “Why are you suggesting we have sex with other people? I don’t have sex with anyone else. I haven’t in like a year.” Since Peter came along.
“Well, we aren’t dating. We aren’t married.”
“No. No. What, absolutely not.” Tony was not okay with what Pepper was saying. “I don’t want you having sex with anyone else. Are you?”
She glared at him. “No. I’m not.”
“I don’t know what you do when you go to Malibu.” Tony regretted saying that as soon as he did.
“Oh. Who do you think I am? Sleeping around every chance I get?” Pepper pushed past Tony to leave. “You know what, just forget I said anything. It’s fine. Okay?”
Tony watched her leave. He was an idiot.
Downstairs, Pepper spotted Peter on the couch and went to go sit next to him to clear her head. “What are you watching, Peter?”
“Craig of the creek.” Peter answered, eyes glued onto the tv screen still.
Pepper sat back to watch the show as well but then Tony was walking down. “I have some work to do in my office. I’ll be an hour or so.”
No one answered him so Tony left.
Shortly after that, the episode was ending and Peter sat up to look over the couch. “I want ice cream.”
Pepper turned to face Peter. There was no harm in asking his opinion. “Would you be excited if I was pregnant, Peter?”
Peter gave Pepper his full attention. “Uh… with a baby?”
She nodded, smiling. “Yeah. A tiny little baby.”
“Uh… is there a baby in your stomach?” Peter asked and reached out to touch her stomach but he didn’t feel anything so he sat up on his knees on the couch.
“I don’t know. Maybe.” Pepper smiled and waited for Peter’s reaction but he didn’t seem too interested. “Would you want a little brother or a sister?”
“No. I don’t want any sisters or brothers.” Peter didn’t want to share his dad. Tony was all his and he would hate a baby if it came and took the attention away from him.
Pepper didn’t like the sounds of that. “But then you could play with him or her and teach them stuff.”
Peter thought about it but he was thinking of something else. “Are there milk in your boobies?”
Pepper wasn’t expecting that and it made her laugh. “Oh, no, honey. That wouldn’t happen until after the baby was born.”
“Dad said he doesn’t either.” Peter frowned then laughed at the memory of him asking his dad if he had any milk. “I want some milk. Can you go get me some in my blue water bottle?”
Pepper didn’t think Peter understood or even cared what she was talking about so she stood up to go fill up a cup of milk for Peter and finished watching tv with him until Tony was done.
When Tony was walking out of his office, he was heading straight over to Peter. “Did you go in my office?”
Peter looked up at him.
“Peter? Answer the question.” Tony sat down on the ottoman and pulled Peter’s ankles out so he was sitting in front of him. “FRI, mute the tv. Did you go in my office?”
Peter tried to turn onto his stomach but Tony held him still. “Um, no.”
“Don’t lie to me. Because I was just on a video call with Regio and Ricci and they said they tried to call me before but they spoke with a little boy. And I don’t know any other little boys but you so…” Tony didn’t want Peter in his office for multiple reasons and this was one of those reasons.
“I just… I just wanted to bring Dum-E and U up. Then I saw your computer light up so I pressed it.” Peter told his dad while looking down. He didn’t want to get in trouble.
“What were you wearing, huh? Were you wearing pants at least?” Tony knew how Peter walked around the house and he really didn’t want to have to deal with two of the old men he worked with seeing his kid in his birthday suit.
Peter shrugged. “I was wearing this.”
“Okay. Just… my office is off limits. I don’t want you going in there. Do I have to lock it as well?” Tony asked but he was fully prepared to put a lock on that door as well as the many other doors in the penthouse. “Hey. I’m talking to you.”
Peter crossed his arms over his chest. “Okay. I won’t go in your stupid office.”
Tony sighed and looked over at Pepper. He didn’t know if he wanted her here right now but he wasn’t going to tell her to leave so he just left it.
“Can you go pee?” He asked Peter who grabbed his water bottle and ignored him. Tony sighed. “I’ll hold onto this while you go try to pee.”
Peter stood up with a groan. “I don’t need to go.”
“Try please. I’ll be here.” With that, Peter was slowly walking to the bathroom while Tony took a seat. “How are you feeling?”
“I ordered a pregnancy test.” She told him.
“Okay. Do you want me to wait with you while you take it?” He regretted reacting the way he did. He understood that this was a huge deal but Pepper didn’t have any kids, he did.
“I’m gonna take it in the morning. That’s supposedly the best time so it’s fine. I’ll let you know, okay?” Tony gave her a nod and then she was standing up to go upstairs.
Tony didn’t want to be that evil monster that hoped his girlfriend wasn’t pregnant just because they weren’t trying, not that Pepper was his girlfriend or anything.
He pulled out his phone to answer a few important emails to try and take his mind off of it but then he realized that Peter had been gone for quite a long time so he put his phone in his pocket and went to go see what the problem was.
When he arrived at the bathroom in the hallway, the door was open and Peter was squatting on the bathroom floor with his pants around his ankles, not sitting on the toilet. “What’re you doing?”
Peter quickly stood up and sat back down on the toilet. “I was just looking at the snow globe there.”
Tony put his hands in his pocket and leaned against the doorframe. “Oh. I didn’t even know that was in here.”
“It’s cool.”
“Did you go pee yet?” He asked but he knew what the answer was.
“No. I don’t need to go.”
“Why don’t you stand up instead?” Tony never understood why Peter always sat down. “You’re a boy.”
Peter eyed him. “Obviously.”
“Okay, sassy pants. I mean stand up and hold yourself.” Tony knew Peter peed everywhere but the actual toilet so he wasn’t going to force Peter to do anything.
Peter shook his head. “That’s uncomfortable.”
Tony didn’t know how long this was going to take but maybe Peter really didn’t need to go since it’s been about ten minutes. “Alright. If you really don’t need to go then pull up your underwear and pants and let’s go watch something.”
“Can we build legos? I really wanna build a pond with a log cabin.” Peter asked as pulled up his pants and followed his dad out of the bathroom.
“Yeah, am I building that as well or can I build something else?” Tony asked as he took a seat on the carpet. Peter always dictated to him on what he could and couldn’t build and if he was really cranky, he would cry if Tony used the wrong colour.
Peter sat down. “Ummm… you can build what you want.”
The two of them began building, Tony found it relaxing. He loved spending time with his kid, it was really the only thing he absolutely loved doing. Basically anything with Peter.
“How is a baby made?” Peter asked, not looking up from his legos.
Tony felt all the colour drain from his face. Why was Peter asking that? Did he somehow know Pepper was pregnant? He also didn’t know how to answer that question, does he tell Peter what sex is? Didn't Peter already know?
“Uh, well, didn’t you have some sort of like health class in school that talked about that?” Tony asked. He never spoke to Peter about any of that but he assumed Peter knew. Peter knew he was going to grow body hair at some point but maybe not other stuff.
Peter shrugged. “No. Aunt May kept me home on those days so Uncle Ben could tell me but then he died and he never did.”
“Oh.” Tony didn’t know what to say. “Did your Aunt ever tell you then?”
“No.” Peter stopped building his legos to look at his dad. “How does the baby get inside Pepper’s tummy?”
Tony tried not to panic. Oh fuck. Was Pepper actually pregnant? No. No no no.
“Why are you asking me this?”
“Pepper said so. She said a baby might be inside her but I don’t know how it got there?”
Okay. So Pepper talked to Peter about this without asking his permission. Tony was going to be talking to her about that since that was an extremely important conversation that Tony didn’t want Peter apart of.
“Uh… well, bud, um… you know, actually, how do you think it got there?” Tony asked to see what Peter knew. Peter is also the only person to ask a question that leaves him so speechless. Tony Stark doesn’t stutter. Unless Pepper’s around.
“I think the bad word.” Peter gave Tony a serious look and Tony couldn’t stop from grinning.
“What’s the bad word?” He had an idea.
Peter hesitated. “Umm… the s word.”
Tony didn’t know Peter knew that word. “Do you mean s-e-x?”
Peter gasped and nodded. “Yeah. Then the baby comes there.”
That was interesting. Tony wanted to lie and tell Peter that didn’t exist and that it wasn’t true. That someone could only become pregnant from a kiss but he kissed Peter all the time so that would be weird and confusing.
“You’re right. But do you even know what that is?” Tony asked and to his surprise, Peter was nodding.
“Uh huh.”
“Oh yeah. What is it?” Tony was both curious and scared.
“When you’re older and a boy and girl are naked and kiss and touch butts together then the baby is made.” Peter told Tony so seriously that Tony couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
That was the most innocent yet most funny thing that he’s ever heard Peter say in his entire life. He was so in love with Peter it actually hurt.
“Oh god, FRIDAY, save that please.” Tony said once he managed to stop laughing a bit.
“Heyyyy. Stop laughing at me.” Peter didn’t appreciate his dad laughing at something he said since he didn’t exactly get it.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry, it’s just… you’re so cute, Peter. Please, promise me you’ll never grow up.” Tony wanted to invent a time machine to freeze this moment in time so Peter stayed this small and this innocent for the rest of time.
Peter shrugged. “I can’t help it. I’m gonna get bigger one day and maybe I’ll be as big as you.”
Tony wouldn’t allow that. He was Tony Stark, he could invent a time machine, right? He just didn’t want Peter to grow up.
“No. That’ll never happen. Come hug me before we continue our legos.” Tony held his arms out for Peter but he suddenly realized he sounded exactly like Peter in that moment.
Ever since Peter’s accident, he’s been terrified of the thought of losing him and what he would be doing if Peter never woke up or if he died. Now, he couldn’t stand to be away from Peter.
For once, he loved that Peter had separation anxiety so he knew Peter was okay with being around him at all times.
Peter crawled over to him and sat on his thigh to hug him but stayed there. “You’re so comfy.”
Tony chuckled. “Oh, how I love you.”
Peter was turning around half way to grin at his dad. “Oh, how I love you too, daddy.”
Tony wanted to cry with how much he loved Peter.
He couldn’t imagine his life without him, not if Peter died but if Aunt May never died. Tony wouldn’t know what he would be missing out.
A lifetime of happiness and Peter.
“You’re so perfect, my baby. Did you know that?”
Peter nodded. “Of course.”
That had Tony playfully pinching Peter and Peter screaming in his ear so Tony pushed him off his lap. “You’re so silly. And loud. You could probably sing.”
Peter didn’t respond and instead, jumped back onto Tony’s lap.
Tony picked Peter up and forced him onto the ground so he could pin his arms above his head with one hand and lift up his shirt with the other to blow raspberries on his stomach.
Peter tried to buck his hips but it wasn’t working.
“Ahhh! It tickles!” Tony let Peter roll onto his back and stopped. He didn’t want to torture the poor boy.
“Okay. All done. The tickle monster is full now.” Tony groaned and took a seat on the couch while Peter finished with the giggles still in his system.
“No, not the tickle monster!” He pointed at his dad and turned around to finish building his legos but quickly turned his head to check if his dad was coming to him.
Tony raised his arms up in surrender. “The tickle monsters gone. Relax.”
“Just checking.” Peter then went back to building while Tony went onto his phone.
Peter had already opened up his new lego box but he didn’t start building it yet so he dumped the pieces out and started with that.
There were a bunch of tiny pieces he’s never seen in any other lego sets before so he looked at them carefully, biting the top of one just to see.
He swallowed a yellow one after biting it.
He continued with his building but he spotted a blue piece that looked really cool but he didn’t know where it went. Out of curiosity, Peter tried to fit it in his nose and was surprised to see that it actually fit.
When he went to take it out, it was stuck. He tried to stick his finger up there but it only made it go further up so Peter started panicking.
Tony looked over to see what the problem was. At first he thought Peter peed his pants or something but he didn’t understand why Peter would be freaking out so much if he did.
“Pete, what’s wrong?” Peter was whimpering and making scared noises but he didn’t know why.
Peter turned to face him. “It’s stuck.”
“What’s stuck?” Tony scanned Peter’s body, looking at his fingers to see if Peter stuck them in anywhere. “What is it?”
Peter stood up and walked towards Tony. “It’s stuck in my nose. It hurts!”
Tony looked in Peter’s nose and saw it. He couldn’t believe what he was looking at. “Is that… a lego piece?”
Peter nodded. “Yeah. It’s stuck.”
“Oh my god, Peter. Why did you put that in your nose?” Tony stood up and tried to think about what to do.
Peter whimpered. “I wanted to see if it would fit. It hurts, dad.”
Tony didn’t know what to do. “Okay um, blow your nose.”
Peter tried but he couldn’t so Tony blocked the other side. “Blow. Hard.”
Peter tried again but whimpered and stomped his feet when he couldn’t get it out. “It’s stuck! It’s gonna go in my brain!”
“It’s not gonna go in your brain… just,” Tony grabbed Peter’s hand and led him into the kitchen to get better light. “Blow again.”
Peter started sucking in so Tony had to quickly stop him. “No! You’ll make it go further up. Blow out, Peter, out.”
“I can’t!” Peter stomped his feet again and then Pepper was walking down.
“What’s wrong?” She asked.
“Peter shoved a piece of lego up his nose.” He answered but now that he said it out loud, the whole situation was so funny. And a tad scary.
“Oh my. Peter. How did this happen?” She asked, tilting Peter’s head up to look inside his nose at the bright blue lego piece.
Peter rubbed at his eyes. “I don’t know. I-I wanted to see if it would fit.”
Pepper turned to Tony. “I was watching him. I was right there, I don’t know how he did this. Or why.” Tony said.
“Okay. Try blowing your nose, Peter. I’ll block the other one.” Pepper blocked the other nostril and told Peter to blow which he did but it was still stuck.
Tony didn’t know what to do. He was ready to bring Peter down to the MedBay now.
“Try blowing again, Peter.” Tony went to block his nose but Peter shook his head and pushed his hands away.
“Try blowing into his mouth and blocking his nose.” Pepper suggested. Tony would never have thought of that idea but it made sense. “Just try and if it doesn’t work, we’ll take him down there.”
“Okay. Open your mouth, Pete. I’m gonna blow into it.” Tony waited for Peter to open his mouth then leaned down so he was at Peter’s height level. He then blocked his other nostril and blew.
It took two blows but then the lego piece was flying out and into Tony’s hand. “There it is. Wow.”
Peter wiped his mouth and went to reach for it but Tony held his hand away. “No way. Never did I expect I was going to have to blow into my kids mouth when I became a parent yet here I am.”
Tony scanned the lego piece before throwing it out. “Where did this come from?”
He walked back into the living room to get rid of all the other pieces. “From my pull-up box.”
Tony knew Peter meant the lego box he got to get him out of pull-ups. It made sense and it was Tony’s fault. “Well, that’s what I get for buying you a box that says sixteen plus on the box.”
Peter joined him on the carpet as Tony grabbed the box and started cleaning up all the pieces. “You can play with this in a few years. And Peter, please don’t put anything up your nose, okay? It’s dangerous.”
“I want to build it still.” Peter said, sitting up on his knees.
Tony didn’t stop putting all the pieces away until it was gone. “Not anymore. I shouldn’t have given this to you.”
Pepper rubbed Peter’s back. “In a few years you can build it again, Peter.”
Peter watched his dad take the box away. He crossed his arms over his chest and debated telling his dad what he did with another piece. “I ate another piece.”
Tony froze and turned to face Peter. “You ate a lego piece?”
“Uh huh. It was yellow and I swallowed it.” Peter didn’t see how it was a big deal. He would poop it out.
Tony couldn’t help but laugh. Today was an odd day and he never thought he would ever have to ask someone if they ate a lego piece. Why was Peter even eating lego pieces at his age?
“Why?” Tony rubbed at his eyes and asked.
Peter shrugged. “I don’t know. It looked funny and I wanted to see.”
Pepper was laughing on the couch. “Oh, don’t worry, Tony. He’ll poop it out soon.”
“Yeah, and who’s gonna be the one to have to check for that.” Tony wasn’t surprised. That was his job but he wouldn’t change it for the world.
Peter grinned. He thought that was funny but then he felt the need to pee and wetness spreading in his underwear. “Uh Uh. I’m going pee!”
Both adults turned to watch Peter run towards the bathroom and even though Tony was pretty sure Peter didn’t make it, he was so proud of Peter for actually trying to make it to the bathroom instead of letting it happen.
“I’m gonna go check to see if he made it.” Tony said and followed in the direction Peter went. He leaned against the doorframe again and looked at Peter sitting on the toilet with his pants still on. Why wasn’t he surprised. It was such a Peter thing to do. “Oh, Pete. You never cease to amaze me.”
Peter gave him a weird look that Tony chuckle. “What? Why?”
“Let’s go change. Actually, you’re all sticky and dirty so go in the shower and I’ll be up soon.” There was no point in Peter changing since he needed a full body scrub.
Peter got off the toilet and looked down at his pants. “It’s uncomfortable.”
“I can imagine. Go upstairs and I’ll be up in a sec.” Tony wanted to have a quick talk with Pepper first. He walked Peter to the stairs and told him to get the bubble bath ready then walked into the living room. “Pete’s going in the bath and I’m gonna go up with him in a sec but he told me that you told him you were pregnant.”
Pepper looked surprised. “I didn’t tell him I was pregnant.”
“Well did you say you might be? With my kid?” Tony crossed his arms.
“No. I didn’t. I just asked him if he would want a little brother or sister and then he started touching my stomach and asking me if my breasts have milk in them.” Pepper explained to Tony, slightly annoyed herself.
“God, Pepper. Why? Why did you ask him that?” Tony didn’t know what Peter thought now or if he was expecting a sibling. “He’s like a sponge. You can’t tell him anything like this. It’s none of his business anyways.”
“You’re ridiculous.” Pepper stood up and went to walk away from Tony but he wasn’t done yet.
“Don’t walk away from me. Peter’s my kid and it’s my decision if I want you to talk to him about that because then it leads to other questions like what sex is and how a baby’s made.” Tony didn’t want to talk to Peter about that. He didn’t see how it was important. He grew up knowing about all that at a very young age, he turned out to be having sex with a bunch of woman and he didn’t want that for Peter.
“Stop shielding Peter from the world. I understand that he got hurt and you’re scared but he’s fourteen. He’s going to be curious about certain things and how his body works and that’s your responsibility to tell him.” Pepper told Tony, raising her voice slightly.
Tony didn’t want to hear any of this. He knew Peter wasn’t ready yet. It would scar the poor boy if he did. “That’s not your decision to make. Next time, talk to me first. I gotta go.”
Tony hated fighting with Pepper but it frustrated him that she didn’t understand. The only thing that could calm him down now was going to see his kid. The only thing that ever calmed him down.
He walked into the bathroom and found Peter sitting in the bath and sitting on the fossett, watching the water come out.
“Pete, you’re gonna break it. Get off.” Tony took a seat on the bath tub step and reached into the water to feel the temperature. There were a lot of bubbles meaning that Peter went a little crazy adding them in.
Peter smiled at him. “It’s funny up here.”
Tony reached to feel the tap and if it was about to break. He knew it wouldn’t but he still didn’t want Peter sitting on it. “It’s funny in the bath too. Come on. Hop off.”
Peter stood up so he could sit back down in the bubble bath that went up to his ears. Both of them began laughing at Peter’s head just sticking out of the bubbles and just like that, all of Tony’s worries were gone.
Bath time was over and done within about thirty minutes and then Tony was going to get Peter ready for bed before he got himself ready for bed.
Peter wrapped his towel around his shoulders and ran into the bedroom after brushing his teeth. He reached into his pull-up box and pulled one out. “I need to wear one tonight.”
Tony followed Peter out, looking at the pull-up in Peter’s hand. He didn’t think Peter did but he didn’t want to take that chance. “Alright. Put it on but if you need to go pee you have to wake up to go.”
Peter nodded and put his feet through the holes, pulling it up on him and jumping into bed. “Can I watch tv before bed? And I want my water bottle. Give me the remote.”
“Is there anything else you would like me to do for you my king?” Tony teased his bossy kid although he would do anything Peter asked.
Peter grinned. “A back massage.”
Tony playfully smacked Peter on the foot and went to go grab the water bottle.
He was basically Peter’s servant at this point but he was okay with that.
