Would You Be A Dear
Summary
Carol & Therese refuse to get out of bed.

“Are you guys counting each other’s gray hairs again? Who does that!” Rindy walks into the bedroom where both her mothers snuggle in bed together. Sunlight spills out from the curtain windows brightening the area.

“We only did that once,” Therese was smiling, resting the side of her face against Carol’s breastbone.
“Will you shovel the walkway please?”

“That would be helpful,” Carol adds, holding Therese close.

“There’s only a dusting,” Rindy scoffs.

“Sweep the stairs then,” Therese instructs.

“Mom, you love the snow, though,” Rindy picks up a wooden carved elephant displayed on the armoire.

“The mailman doesn’t,” Carol states flatly. “Now go do as you’re told, please. If he slips and falls, we’ll never hear the end of it.”

Rindy snickers at the thought and puts the elephant back. She leaves the room to sweep off the granite front steps outside.
