Lil Pink and Her Nanny Pearl
The other diamonds always treat her like a lessor. Then she started studying the earthlings! White had been wrong when she had given her the planet! Not only did it have life, but in many ways it reflected their own. But, at the same time it didn't. Earthlings weren't born with their bodies and minds fully developed. They had to grow. But, she noticed that the way the big earthlings treated the small earthlings was just like how the other diamonds treated her!
During one of their fights, she yelled at Yellow about how they treated her like a child! Which in hind sight was a bad idea. It caused Yellow and the other diamonds to start studying the humans that they had let her start collecting in her zoo. They started to notice it too, but it interested two of the diamonds more than Pink realized it would.
White was more than willing to treat Pink like the toddler she acted like. Blue was excited to help the larger diamond with her plans. She was rather delighted at the thought getting to take care of Pink the way earthlings seemed to treat their young. It was just so interesting and beautiful. Getting things ready were rather easy. Specially since White was the most powerful of them all and could force gems appearances to change at her will.
The next time Pink acted like a child, she was transported her to her room, now changed to look like a giant playpen. Her hair done in cute pig tails, her outfit now changed to look like a onesie with frills, and a thing earthlings called diapers. Lastly a pacifier to help her calm down. Blue agreed that White had made Pink look even cuter than she normally did.
Now Pink's pearl was far too much of a playmate, she needed a pearl that could act like a caretaker when the diamonds were busy. A nanny of sorts. Even Yellow helped create the perfect pearl. She agreed that Pink needed a figure that could help her behave. So the pearl that was created was rather unique. She had a light blue dress with short puffy sleeves with a white apron with all three of their diamonds creating a heart (since you couldn't see white's diamond on the white fabric), her shoes were yellow along with the frills under the dress to make it puff out a bit. She had transparent pink ribbon that kept her coral pink hair in a bow, her skin was pure white. They all argued where the gem should have gone, Yellow felt like stomach was best because they were known to be more motherly, Blue thought chest because they were more emotional, and White felt like the forehead because they were more clever. In the end White won like she always did.
“Pearl” was given rules, she was expected to act like any normal pearl, unless Pink was being punished. She had two main forms, her “Nanny” form which was her true form and a more normal pearl outfit. When she was in nanny mode she was allowed to punish Pink as she felt fit. Only the other diamonds could tell Pearl when she had to go into nanny mode.
When Pink learned about the “punishment” she hated it! She had felt like they felt like she was lessor and this was just more proof. She hated when they would force her into her “little” form as White had named it. She hated when White would make her call her mama and Blue would go by big sister. Sure she had secretly wanted them to be more like a human family, but that wasn't what she meant.
There were things she did secretly like about it though. She liked how White would let her keep organic creatures from any planet, no matter how weird or silly they were. Even though she claimed to hate it, Pearl knew she did kind of like the love they gave her. But, she also knew that out of everyone she preferred being cared for by her Pearl the most. Pearl would do small things like have a chore chart with pearl points to reward her for doing her diamondly duties. And when she got enough stickers she'd be rewarded.
As Pink became more interested in human life, and protecting gems like her, defective gems, ones that didn't fit. She had to put up that side of her to create a rebellion, and Pearl had to stop being a nanny and start being a knight to protect the diamond she loved. It was hard and Pearl wondered many nights and days if Pink ever missed it like she had?
That answer would be revealed, before they got Amethyst. After the war had basically ended with the diamonds having corrupted all those poor gems. The guilt was too much for Pink. She naturally transformed into her “little” form, luckily Garnet was off doing something at the time. Pearl hummed gently and comforted the poor diamond.
Even after they got Amethyst who was much like a human child, even with all those human flings she had, even when she started dating Greg who started to seem more than just a human fling. Pearl always knew that while she might be the crystal gems' leader, a role model to the others. Secretly hiding just under the surface would be the little princess that she was made for. The more she was on Earth the more she became like a true child when she was little. Developing the desire to eat (which meant Pearl had to learn how to make food for her) to being put down for naps. Honestly Pearl loved every moment of it and she knew that no matter what Pink said she loved it too.
Every now and then when things would get too much Rose would tell Pearl that things were started to feel rather small. And they would sneak off to spend sometime as just a nanny and her little princess.
