11 // Calm Before the Storm
Steve taps his pencil down on the table top, staring at the blank piece of paper in front of him. Currently he's alone in the apartment as Bucky decided he wanted to take Francis out to the park for the day, leaving him alone with nothing to do.
He would've gone with them, but Bucky had said he just wanted some time alone with Francis. In truth, Steve wasn't too keen about the idea of Bucky going out with Francis to the park alone (not yet anyway), so he had talked him into getting Wanda to go with him.
He knows Bucky can take care of himself, but considering he's currently six months pregnant, and still a little shaken by the revelation that Tony is his son, Steve just wants to be on the safe side and have someone go out with Bucky. Although he's sure that even though he is pregnant that Bucky can still kick someone's ass.
It's only been a couple of days since the discovery that Tony is Bucky's son, and they've not told Tony about it yet. Bucky was planning on telling him yesterday, he even got about halfway to Tony's lab, but then he ended up turning around and heading back to their apartment. He wasn't ready yet. He's afraid, and Steve's not going to pressure him into doing something he's not ready to do just yet.
But they can't keep this secret forever…. Neither do they want to keep it forever. They definitely don’t want a repeat of last time.
Sighing, Steve sets the pencil down and gets up. He thought he was in the mood to draw, but he'd been staring at a blank piece of paper for about twenty minutes now, and... nothing. Absolutely no inspiration to draw anything.
So he heads into the kitchen to make himself a coffee. Although, he pauses in the doorway as he sees who's sitting at the table….
"Tony?" He asks, glancing over to the front door. "How'd you get in?"
Tony rolls his eyes. "I own this place, dumbass." He says, like it's the most obvious thing in the world - which Steve supposes it is…. Tony's bound to have ways of getting into every room in the compound.
"I didn't hear you come in." Steve says, making his way over to the bench to make coffee. "You want a coffee?" He spares a glance at Tony, finding the beta watching him.
"Yeah, sure." Tony says, not removing his gaze from Steve, which Steve finds a little uncomfortable, but he doesn't mention anything about it.
Why Tony is here, he can't help but wonder. Yes, sure he's been avoiding the guy ever since finding out about him being Bucky's son, but Tony also hasn't made any effort to actually talk to him when he's out in the common room.
He'll admit, it's a little difficult to look at Tony now that he's found out that he's Bucky's son. And he's not sure if it will get any easier. Nothing will ever be the same again once they tell him the news when Bucky's ready.
"So… where's your omega?" Tony asks.
"He and Wanda have taken Francis to the park." Steve says, grabbing a couple mugs out of the cupboard at the jug boils. "He needed some fresh air."
"You really think that's wise, letting him out into the general public like that?" Tony asks.
Closing his eyes, Steve clenches his fists, biting back a growl at Tony's words. Bucky is completely harmless. He's not the Winter Soldier, and hasn't been in a long time.
But others just can't see that. He can understand why, after all the things Hydra made him do while he was under their control, and the negative press certainly doesn't help. He can only imagine how much worse it'll get once it comes time for his trial. But regardless of all that, Steve just wishes that people would start to see Bucky for who he really is, not what the media portrays him as, or what Hydra turned him into.
"Why are you here, Tony?" He asks, not turning to look at him.
He can imagine that he's just here to annoy him, and to tell him how much of a danger Bucky is, but he gets the feeling that's not why he's here. There must be a better reason as to why Tony is sitting here right now.
"Why do I feel like there's something you and Barnes are hiding from me?" Tony says after a moment's silence. "Come on, Rogers. You and I both know we don't want another repeat of last time, and I doubt Barnes is in any fit state to fight."
"Like that would stop you from trying to fight him in the first place if it came to it." Steve says, turning to face him.
With the way Tony talks and acts towards Bucky, Steve has no doubt that he'll still attempt to hurt him. Even if he wouldn't be able to do much damage out of his suit. Tony may be smart and have plenty of heroic aspects, even some form of combat training if Steve is remembering correctly, but without his Iron Man suit, he's no match against two super soldiers, even if one is pregnant.
Tony looks a little taken aback by that. "I wouldn't attack a pregnant person, even if it's Barnes." He says. "Do you really think so little of me now that I'd do something like that?"
Steve sighs. He doesn't think that at all, really. But his overall opinion of Tony had been damaged back in Siberia when he tried to kill Bucky instead of even attempting to talk things through first.
But Tony was thinking more with his emotions than rationally, and Steve knows it. He had just found out the truth behind his parents death, and the one who killed them - albeit forced to - was standing in the same room as him. Not to mention the person he had called his friend had known about his parents murder and never told him.
Over all, they both did wrong in Siberia, and it gravely damaged their friendship.
"You and I both know our friendship will never be the same after what happened in Siberia." And after what we've recently uncovered…. He sighs, crossing his arms as he leans back against the bench. "But no, I don't think so little of you that you'd attack a pregnant person. Even if it was someone you hated."
Although, that doesn't mean he wouldn't do something to hurt him…. Steve isn't sure if Tony would really do anything more than threaten, but he'd rather not take any risks. But he knows for sure that he wouldn't just attack a pregnant person, no matter who it is.
Then again, that might change once they tell Tony the news….
Tony nods, wincing a little. "Let's not talk about Siberia." He says. "But answer me this, Rogers. Am I right in thinking there's something the two of you aren't telling me?"
Steve hesitates. Yes, there is something that he and Bucky haven't told Tony yet, but they've only found out a couple days ago themselves. And, it's not his place to tell Tony the news. It's Bucky's. Except, while Bucky does want to tell Tony as soon as possible, Steve isn't sure if he's ready to tell him.
"It's not my place to tell you, Tony." He sighs, turning back to the bench, where he distracts himself from the conversation by making coffee.
"So there is something you're not telling me?" Tony asks. "Why?"
Why? Because Steve doesn't want to go behind Bucky's back and tell Tony himself. While he's sure Bucky would appreciate Steve telling Tony for him, this is something that Tony should hear from Bucky.
Not to mention they haven't known for very long….
"Because it doesn't have anything to do with me." Steve says, which is true. Tony isn't his son, but Bucky's son. It would be better for him to hear it from Bucky. "This is something that you need to hear from Bucky. But… I'm not sure he's ready yet."
"And when will he be ready to tell me whatever it is you can't just tell me yourself?" Tony asks.
The answer to that, Steve doesn't know. He doesn't know when Bucky will be ready, and he's not going to push him into telling Tony if he's not ready. But they cannot leave it much longer. And they definitely can't leave it much longer now that Tony seems to suspect something.
Which gets Steve wondering something…. What is making Tony think they're hiding something from him? Well, he supposes them avoiding him doesn't help, but they've mostly kept to themselves since coming back here.
"What makes you think we're hiding something from you in the first place, Tony?" He asks.
He's sure Wanda wouldn't have spoken to Tony. She'd never do something like that unless she absolutely had to.
Unless… Tony's been spying on them? That's the only other explanation he can think of, and due to the hostility between them currently, Steve wouldn't put it past Tony to spy on them.
Tony doesn't say anything, Just looks away from Steve, which gets him thinking that his theory is correct.
"Have you been spying on us, Tony?" He asks.
"So what if I have?" Tony asks. "I can do whatever I want here. And no, before you go looking there's no cameras here." He says. "I hacked into F.R.I.D.A.Y's database. She sees everything that happens in the facility."
"And that's not like hidden cameras, how?" Steve asks.
To hear that Tony's been spying on them hurts, but honestly, he rather expected it. Of course he would be. Which means he might already know exactly what's going on, but wants to hear it from them.
Tony hesitates, seemingly having to think about that. "Okay, maybe it is like hidden cameras." He admits. "But F.R.I.D.A.Y is the only one who can actually view them unless I hack into her database, or she shares them with me if it's something important."
Shaking his head, Steve didn't bother trying to understand that anymore than he already does. He can mostly understand what Tony's trying to say anyway.
Setting down a mug of coffee in front of Tony, he sits down on the opposite end of the table with his own mug of coffee.
The two of them drift into awkward silence after that, the pair of them not quite knowing what else to say.
It's definitely strange actually sitting in silence with Tony now. Before the incident with the accords and then what happened in Siberia, he doesn't recall ever actually sitting in silence with Tony. Back when their friendship was still pretty good, there was always something coming out of Tony's mouth, mostly stuff that Steve could barely understand back then, but regardless, there was never a moment where there was long silence between him and Tony.
And admittedly, he does miss the old friendship he had with Tony. The guy may have annoyed him half the time, but it sure as hell beats the strained friendship they have now….
******
“Mommy, mommy!” Francis shouts excitedly as he runs towards Bucky and Wanda, a young girl - possibly around five or six - running along behind him. “I met a new friend!”
Bucky smiles as he sees how happy his son is, and the fact that he seems to be making friends fairly quickly. And depending on the little girl's parents, he'll have to get their number so they can keep in contact.
"That's great, sweetie." He says, as Francis stops in front of him, along with the little girl.
"Mommy, this is Evie!" Francis says.
Bucky turns to the little girl as she stands next to Francis, staring up at him with big brown eyes filled with wonder as her gaze drifts to his metal arm.
"Hi there, Evie." He says, before looking around, trying to see if he can spot her parents.
There isn't anyone running towards them, but there does appear to be a man stretched out on the seats over by the sandpit. And he can't quite tell from where he and Wanda are seated, but he appears like he might be asleep. If he's Evie's parent, Bucky isn't sure how he feels about the man being asleep and not watching his kid.
"Where's your parents?" Bucky asks, looking back down at the young girl.
The girl looks behind her, brown curls bouncing with the movement. "Dada and papa are busy filming car stuff for work. And daddy's over there." She says, pointing over towards the man. "I think he's fallen asleep again. He gets tired a lot. Dada and papa said it’s cause he got hurt really really bad a long time ago. And he always ends up upside down when driving."
And Bucky finds himself concerned upon hearing this. Who takes their kid to a park and falls asleep while watching them? Well, he knows for a fact that looking after children is tiring, even for him, but still…. There’s no knowing what might happen to your kid if you take your eyes off them even for a second, let alone fall asleep in a public place while you should be watching them.
Though, he supposes the reason could be what Evie had just said about him. But what injury that the man sustained a long time ago could cause that? And does an injury from a long time ago really excuse someone from not watching their kid properly in a public place? Bucky isn't sure….
"I'll go wake him up!" She says. "He'll love to see your arm!"
Bucky frowns a little as he watches the girl run off towards her father. He’ll admit that he’s a little nervous to meet the girl’s father. While Evie is blissfully unaware of who he is, and doesn’t seem afraid of him in the slightest, her father no doubt knows of him, and he’s rather worried about what the man’s reaction will be.
And he’s also interested in seeing what sort of parent falls asleep when they should be watching their kid in a public park where anything could happen to them….
As he watches as the man sits up after Evie wakes him, Bucky has to do a double take as he gets a look at the man. At first glance, he honestly looks a little like Tony in a way. But he doubts the man has any relation to Tony, and in turn himself. Mostly because of Evie’s clearly British accent, and he’s assuming that her father is also British, so likely no possible relation. Then again….
“Is it just me or does he look a bit like Tony?” Bucky asks, turning to Wanda, who has a look of surprise on her face.
“Uh, a little.” She says, before turning to face Bucky. “But I can tell you now that there isn’t any relation though, or that he’s one of the children Hydra made you have if that’s what you’re thinking cause he looks a bit like Tony.”
Admittedly he was thinking that, but he doesn’t say it out loud. It might just be pure coincidence that the man looks a little like Tony. Or maybe it’s just because the man has a similar hairstyle and facial hair to Tony.
Although he is curious how Wanda knows for certain that there isn’t any relation. Though he doesn’t get the chance to ask, nor does she get the chance to tell him like it seems she was about to as both the man and Evie have walked over to them.
“Daddy, look at Francis’s daddy’s arm!” Evie says.
“No, he’s mommy .” Francis says, correcting her. “It’s cool, isn’t it?”
“Yes!” Evie says. “Can dada and papa see it too?” She asks, looking up at her father.
“Well it depends on what Francis’s mum says, and when your dads finish filming.” The man says, before looking apologetically at Bucky. “Sorry about that. Evie can be quite excitable.”
Bucky nods. “It’s alright.”
Honestly, while he doesn’t like too much attention being thrown at him due to his arm, he doesn’t mind when it’s from little kids. They’re bound to be fascinated by it, and he can deal with it. It’s the adults he’d rather not get any attention about it from. Some can just be way too judgy about it.
“I’m Richard by the way.” The man says, holding out a hand for Bucky to shake. “And I’m guessing you’ve already been introduced to Evie.”
“Bucky.” Bucky says, shaking Richard’s hand. “Francis’s mom. And this is Wanda.” He indicates to Wanda sitting next to him, who gives a small wave.
Some recognition seems to cross Richard’s face, like he recognises who Bucky and Wanda are, but he doesn’t make any comment about it, just takes a seat on the bench next to Bucky. And Bucky finds himself relieved that Richard doesn’t appear to be scared off by who he is.
“That prosthetic is really impressive.” Richard says. “What’s it made out of?”
“Vibranium.” Bucky says, lifting his arm out for Richard to see, figuring the man seems genuinely interested in checking it out, and he doesn’t get the feeling that there’s any malicious intent in the man wanting to see.
Actually, maybe it’s because the man is an omega from his scent, but he doesn’t sense any danger from the man at all. In fact, the man seems pretty harmless, albeit the fact that he seemed to be asleep instead of watching his kid….
“Jesus, it’s fully functional?” Richard asks, pulling out a pair of glasses from his bag and putting them on as he examines the arm carefully. “How is it engineered?”
“Honestly, I have no idea.” Bucky says.
He really has no idea how it’s engineered. It’s a complete mystery to him. And if he’s being honest, as much as he does like a lot of science fiction related stuff, he’s not sure he’ll be able to understand how a lot of things with his arm works even if he was told how it works. He doesn’t even quite understand how he can actually somewhat feel stuff with it.
"It's remarkable!" Richard says. "I don't think I've ever seen anything like it!"
“It’s better than your knee, daddy.” Evie says, which causes Richard to laugh.
“Oh, is it now?” Richard laughs. "Would you have liked it if I lost my leg and gotten a cool robotic leg instead?" He stops, seemingly contemplating it over. "Actually, that sounds pretty cool."
"No, I don't like you getting hurt, daddy." Evie says. "It's scary."
Now Bucky is a little interested to hear how Richard had injured his leg. Though surely that's not the injury that Evie was referring to when she says her father gets tired a lot because he got hurt badly a long time ago. An injured leg doesn't make someone tired a lot. As far as he's aware….
"I know darling, and I promise it won't happen again." Richard says. “Now why don’t you and Francis go play for a bit before your dads show up or we have to go looking for them.”
“Okay!” Evie says, before she’s taking ahold of Francis’s hand and they’re running off towards the sand pit.
As Francis and Evie both play together in the sand pit, Bucky, Wanda, and Richard just sit back together on the bench, keeping an eye on the kids as they make small talk. Bucky and Richard decide that they want to keep in contact so Francis and Evie can play together some other time, so they exchange numbers. Well, Richard gives Wanda his phone number and email address, and Wanda gives him a phone number and email address so they can keep in contact.
Of course, with the issue of living in different countries, and Richard, Evie, and his partners only being in America for work related reasons, they’ll have to work around that. It might mean they won’t be able to see each other frequently, but still. Even if they can only make time to see each other a couple times a year, then that’s better than nothing at all.
“Mommy, can we get ice cream?” Francis asks running back over to them from the sandpit with Evie running along behind after a while, just as Bucky notices an ice cream truck pulling into the parking lot next to the park.
“Yeah, can we?” Evie asks, turning to her father. “Can we, daddy?”
“Of course, darling.” Richard says.
Bucky nods, turning to Wanda. “Do you mind taking them to get an ice cream?”
He’d go and take Francis to get one himself, but his feet are sore, even though he’s literally done nothing but sit on the park bench the whole time since they got to the park. He blames his pregnancy hormones for that. And well, he thinks he’d like to just sit here with Richard for a bit. Especially as he notices the guy suddenly looks a little tired, and like he’s in pain as he rubs at his forehead.
“Sure.” Wanda says as she stands up. “Do you want anything?”
Bucky shakes his head no. He doesn’t really feel like anything right now. Besides he’s more worried about how Richard is rather than if he wants anything from the ice cream truck.
“Richard?” Wanda asks. “You want me to get you anything?”
“Just coffee if they have any, thanks.” Richard says, not looking up as he rubs at his forehead.
Nodding, Wanda glances over at Bucky, the concern evident on her face as she too notices the sudden change in Richard. Though she doesn’t say anything as Bucky just mouths to her that he’s got this, that he’ll find out if he’s okay while she takes Francis and Evie to get ice cream.
“Okay, come on you two, let’s go get some ice cream, yeah?” Wanda says, as she leads Francis and Evie towards the ice cream truck.
Though Evie hesitates, looking over towards her father as she notices his change in mood. But as Richard assures her that he’s okay, she’s off to get ice cream with Francis and Wanda.
“You alright?” Bucky asks, concerned as he turns his full attention to Richard once Wanda has taken Francis and Evie to get ice cream.
“Just a headache.” Richard sighs, as he begins digging around in his bag for what Bucky is assuming is pain killers and a bottle of water. “I’m fine, don’t worry. Just a side effect from a bad accident over ten years ago that’s stuck around.”
Upon hearing that, Bucky thinks that that might be the injury that Evie had mentioned that causes him to get tired a lot. Although, even though he is curious about what the injury might’ve been, he decides not to press for details on what happened. He doesn’t know the guy, and it might be a tough subject for him to talk about. It must’ve been pretty bad if he’s still suffering from it over ten years later.
But Bucky does know about getting some bad headaches. Being put in and out of cryo freeze for seventy years definitely has its side effects. Fortunately they're not as frequent and as bad as they were at first when he broke free from Hydra, but they're still there, and Bucky doesn’t think he’ll ever be rid of them.
“Hey, Richard?” Bucky starts after a while of them just sitting on the bench while they wait for Wanda to return with Francis and Evie. “Thank you for not freaking out about who I am, and treating me like I’m just some regular person.”
He’s absolutely grateful that Richard didn’t react badly upon figuring out who he is and the whole Winter Soldier business. A very large majority of people would’ve freaked out at first sight of him and absolutely would’ve not allowed their kid anywhere near him. But Richard has treated him like he’s just some regular old John Doe you’d meet out at the park with their kid, and Bucky really appreciates that.
He didn’t even bat an eye at the fact he prefers to be called mother instead of father. Although, times have definitely changed in that aspect as he’s come to learn. Male omegas now have the choice if they want to be referred to as mother or father instead of being forced to refer to themselves as mother like they were when he was growing up in the ‘20s. From what he’s discovered, that stopped being a thing in the ‘90s.
“You’re welcome.” Richard smiles. “I’d rather get to know someone instead of judging them on things that happened in their past. Especially when it comes to things they were forced to do."
And Bucky wishes that more people had that mindset. No one seems to care about who he really is, just that he was the Winter Soldier, and all the bad things he did as the Winter Soldier. Just once he wants to be remembered as just James Buchanan Barnes, a war hero. One of the Howling Commandos who fought alongside Captain America in the war.
Hell, he'd take being remembered as the best friend of Captain America over anything.
“It’s also nice for Evie to make new friends in different places. She’s the only one of our kids that comes out with us most of the time when we go overseas for work since she’s the youngest, by a lot , and she gets lonely not being able to hang out and play with kids her own age." Richard continues. "I'm not a young man, nor was I a young man when I had her, and my partner's certainly aren't young men either, so Evie getting a sibling closer to her age is off the table. So if she can make new friends wherever we go, then that's absolutely a great thing."
And Bucky is absolutely glad that Francis has managed to make a new friend too. He's a little worried that it'll be difficult for him to make friends as he grows due to his history. No doubt a lot of parents won't want their children to become friends with the child of the Winter Soldier, so he is absolutely glad that Francis and Evie have become friends, and Richard is absolutely fine with it. Although he has no idea what Evie's other dad's opinion on this will be, but for now he's not going to worry about that, and just enjoy the fact that his son has made a new friend.
And that for once, since returning to America after staying in Wakanda, there is actually someone, other than the majority of the Avengers, who isn't treating him like a villain, but as just any old human being.
******
Bucky stops, standing in the doorway of the apartment as he sees Tony sitting on the couch in the living room with Steve. He hadn't expected Tony to be there at all, and all he wants to do now is just run out of there, but he can't. Not when both Steve and Tony have noticed him standing there, carrying a sleeping Francis in his arms along with a couple shopping bags.
"Hey, Buck." Steve says, walking over to him and kissing him on the check. "How was the park?"
"Uh, fine." He says, pulling his eyes away from Tony to look at Steve. "Francis met a new friend at the park, then we went to the store and he got some new toys."
“That’s great.” Steve says. “Did you get the kid’s parent’s number? Maybe we can organize a playdate with the two sometime.”
Honestly, Bucky really likes the sound of that, and Richard did give him his number, and he’s sure that Francis would enjoy having a little playdate again with Evie. However….
“Yeah, one of her dads gave me his number and email address, and Wanda gave him the number for the compound. Or the number to call our apartment specifically along with an email address to contact us. I’m not sure.” He says. He’s not entirely sure, but Richard was given a number and email address from Wanda to contact them on. “There’s a slight problem though. Her dads are only here for work. Something car and TV related I think. They live in the UK, so it'll be a little difficult to organize something."
He supposes they can always organize something whenever they come here for work related business (of which Bucky isn't entirely sure what they do for a living, only that it's car related and for TV). Or maybe depending on how things go after his trial, and if he's able to leave the country, they can take a trip to the UK and see them.
Steve nods, looking a little disappointed at that. "Right." He says. "Well I'm sure we can make something work."
Yes, Bucky definitely hopes that they can make something work. He would very much like it if Francis could have some playdates with Evie whenever possible, even if it isn’t very frequently. And he’d very much like to get to know Richard more, and meet his partners. He especially would like to keep in contact with Richard, as it seemed that Richard didn’t seem to care about who he is, and wasn’t scared off by him.
“I would like that.” Bucky says. “Be good for Francis to keep in touch with her.” He glances down at Francis, who’s still fast asleep in his arms. "I should put him down to bed. He managed to tire himself out."
He should really put Francis down to bed. Not only because he tired himself out playing with his new friend, Evie, but also because he himself just wants to get away from Tony. But while he also wants to get away from Tony, he feels he should tell him the news now while he has the chance.
"I can take him to bed if you want." Steve offers.
Shaking his head, Bucky sets the shopping bags he's carrying onto the floor, before adjusting his hold on Francis carefully without waking him.
"No, it's fine, Steve." He says, glancing at Tony, who's thankfully no longer watching him. Then in a voice barely above a whisper so only Steve can hear him he asks, "you haven't told him, right?"
Steve shakes his head. "No, but he knows there's something up." He says, in an equally low voice.
Sighing, Bucky nods. He'll put Francis down to bed, then after he gets changed, he'll come back out here and tell Tony. "I'll be back out in a minute."
He doesn't give Steve the chance to reply, before he's making his way out of the kitchen and down the hall to Francis's room.
As he sets Francis down to bed, he takes his time getting him changed into his pajamas as Francis wakes up - though still half asleep. He might just want to drag this out a little longer than needed, so he can figure out what to say to Tony.
Although, he’s not sure if there’s any other way to tell him that’s not just outright telling him that he’s his son. At least, not that he can think of anyway, so the best course of action might just be to outright say it and hope things don’t end badly. But fuck, things are no doubt going to end badly no matter how he says it. Tony already hates him, and this revelation isn’t just going to magically end well and they’ll end up as one big happy family.
Nothing will ever be the same once Tony knows.
But it needs to be done.
Tony needs to know the truth.
And finally, once Francis is down to bed and once more fast asleep, after he’s stayed in Francis’s room a bit longer than needed to by himself sometime, Bucky is making his way back towards the living room.
Tony is still there, sitting on the couch with Steve looking through all the new toys he bought from the store for Francis today. Mostly a bunch of Hot Wheels cars, but there’s a few cheap toddler friendly action figures of the Avengers, and Bucky can’t help but notice the way Tony lingers on all the Iron Man merchandise longer than all the rest.
There’s a lot of Iron Man merchandise, and Francis picked out every one of them at the store.
“You’re Francis’s favorite Avenger.” Bucky says, and Bucky guesses that Tony must’ve not noticed him coming back into the room as it causes him to jump a little and drop the figurines onto the couch in fright. “When we were still in Wakanda Steve would tell him stories about the Avengers. He’d always want to hear more about Iron Man.”
“Kid’s got good taste then.” Tony says. “Now… talk. Steve tells me there’s something I need to know that only you can tell me and I want to know what it is.”
Walking over to the couch, Bucky hesitates a little, before taking a seat between Steve and Tony. Although, he’s not sure if it’s the best option to sit this close to Tony, given what’s going to come up soon, but if anything does end up happening, Steve is right there next to him.
Shifting around on the couch so he’s facing Tony, Bucky begins to grow rather nervous about what’s going to happen once he tells Tony the news. It’s not easy, but it needs to be done. And sooner rather than later. They don’t need a repeat of what happened last time Steve had kept something from Tony.
"Tony…" He starts, afraid of what Tony's reaction will be. “ You’re one of the children Hydra forced me to have.” He says. “You’re my son….”
