Kyoko sat down on one of two maroon chairs made of metal that accompanied a glass table.
"You look wonderful today, honey." Celeste said, forming a small smile as she watched Kirigiri take her hair down. She wrapped her hand around the handle of her cup and lifted it, drinking.
Kirigiri smiled back at Celeste and fidgeted with her gloves. "Yes, as do you, Taeko." She replied. She scooted the chair closer to the table and clasped her hands, watching her lover drink coffee with the utmost grace.
"Whenever you feel like you can stop fawning over the way I drink my coffee, you can drink your own. It's getting colder by the second." Celeste teased, setting her cup on the table. She played with the end of her twin drills a bit, thinking of how lucky she was to have someone like Kirigiri.
Kirigiri gently chuckled, playfully rolling her eyes at Celeste. "Yes, dear." She breathed, dramatically emphasizing the 'dear'. She knew Celeste enjoyed their playful banter, and had no issue with playing along.
The two sat in silence for a few moments, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the café. People passed by outside, chatting and shopping, but inside the café, it felt like they were in their own little world. The soft jazz music in the background only added to the ambiance.
"So, how was your day at work, Kyoko?" Celeste asked, breaking the silence.
"It was busy as usual, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Just a lot of paperwork and meetings," Kyoko replied, taking a sip of her coffee. She lightly shook her head, still trying to get out of work mode.
Celeste nodded, "That sounds stressful. I'm glad you have this weekend off at least." She wasn't sure exactly how to comfort Kyoko with this considering she has never had an office job, but she could grasp the general idea of what her lover was feeling. Those days that she would come home distressed, all pent up.
Kyoko sighed. "Yes, it was a stressful day indeed. There was a lot of paperwork to be done, and the meetings were long and tedious. Togami was being as stubborn as always, which certainly didn't help. And Naegi was an absolute mess; he couldn't go 10 minutes without losing something," She paused, sighing as she reflected on the hectic nature of the day.
"But, I'm glad I have this weekend off as well," she added with a smile. "It will be nice to just relax and enjoy some time with you."
Celeste smiled back at her. She was fortunate to have such a kind and patient partner. Celeste wished she had half the patience Kirigiri did. She reached out and took Kyoko's hand in hers. "I'm always here for you, my love. You can talk to me about anything, I promise." She said softly.
Celeste sighed contently. She was lucky to have found such a wonderful partner. Kyoko was intelligent, caring, and gentle—everything Celeste could ask for in a partner.
The two enjoyed their coffee in silence, lost in their own thoughts. But for Celeste, those thoughts were always full of gratitude—gratitude for the love she shared with Kyoko.
