mizuki is in pain.
everything feels so agonizing and they can’t even think straight. is this even worth the stress?
why is she feeling so anxious anyway? she doesn’t know. nobody knows. why are they even taking this personally? why are they making this harder for herself?
tears in no way will solve the problem, but they wail anyway. there’s nothing they can seem to do about it, she can’t even control her emotions anymore, let alone fake a smile for once.

everyone asks mizuki the same question, every single day, at any given chance. she doesn’t know how to reply to this without breaking, so she simply acts like they didn’t hear them.
yet as time passes by, they just start feeling worse. they didn't know exactly who to go to for advice, so they felt like they had no choice but to succumb to this and eventually curl up in a ball and die.
she tried so hard to remember the last person they actually talked to. it was probably only recently, but it feels like it’s been forever since she opened up to someone in this state.
right now, mizuki was alone in the local ramen restaurant, covering her face as tears form from her eyes. she didn’t want anyone to see her like this.
minori did anyway.
and as soon as she saw mizuki, she immediately ran to them, as if she knew exactly what was happening and why they seemed like this.
she wanted to ask if they were okay, but they seemed too out of it to even notice that she was right beside them at that moment.
the brunette felt like crying as well, but she savored the tears for later. hesitatingly, she rubbed the shorter girl’s back gently, signaling that she was right there for her if she needed to let something out.
mizuki looked up to minori, shocked that she noticed her of all people. before she could say anything, the taller girl pulled her into a hug that felt so warm they wanted to start crying on her shoulder. and they did.
she hadn't received this kind of treatment in so long, but she had no choice but to succumb to it.
that didn’t matter though, it was nothing to complain about. in fact, it was something she wanted to feel for eternity… the best feeling in the world.
it was the same for minori, who held onto her like it was the end of the world. this girl, who she loves so dearly, starts sobbing for what feels like an hour and a half, and didn’t stop for as long as they were being held.
