Blair's POV
Chapter 7: Blair’s POV
Blair helped Natasha down the stairs of the apartment and into the stolen car that waited in the back alley. After Natasha was gone she needed to dump it as quickly as possible. While Natasha called one of her teammates Blair had packed everything in her apartment and discreetly put it in a small bag in the trunk. The apartment would have to been bare by the time the Avengers showed up and Blair needed a new place to live. It had been worth it though she decided as she slid into the driver’s seat. She extended a tendril of her power into Natasha mind to check that she had not been lied to about her contact with one of the other Avengers. She found nothing and her power drummed happily in her head as she had been using it continuously for hours. She checked for tails as she wove through the streets. Nothing. A few blocks later she pulled around the corner of a local donut shop that Natasha had said was the team’s usual dead drop location.
“We’re early.” Natasha observed turning to look at her.
“Thank you” she said genuine gratitude filled her eyes
For the first time all day Blair felt slightly guilty as her reached across the middle of car and touched Natasha’s cheek.
“I’m sorry” she said before pushing Natasha’s mind into unconsciousness.
Blair got out the car and walked to the other side. Opening Natasha’s door she undid the other woman’s seatbelt and picked her up out of the car, laying her body on a blanket under the shop’s awning.
Blair then dumped the car and positioned herself several rooftops away to keep watch over Natasha. A few minutes later a car pulled up and a man in a flannel shirt and leather jacket jumped out of the driver's seat, running to Natasha’s side. From this distance Blair couldn’t focus her powers enough to confirm that the man was Natasha’s teammate but the expensive car and weapons hidden on his person were enough confirmation to ease any of her worries. She turned and exited the roof, climbing nimbly down the fire escape. As she trudged away from the building she grimly realized that she was no longer just hiding from Hydra but the Avengers as well.
