Seems like the orange is sweeter today
It was a peaceful Saturday afternoon here in Paris today.
Marinette is designing a dress for one of her commissions, sketching all kinds of patterns that would look great on the dress. While sketching she got a notification on her phone, Marinette stopped what she was doing and got up to check her phone.
It was Kagami. Marinette and Kagami have started to be more closer ever since Marinette lost her crush for Adrien, Marinette opens the app and replies to her.
Kagami:
Marinette are you perhaps free today?
Marinette:
I sort of am, why?
Kagami:
Would you like to have a juice date with me?
Marinette:
Sure!
I'll get ready, so wait for me at our usual spot, See you Kagami!
Marinette puts down her phone and immediately went to her wardrobe to pick an outfit, From her excitement she didn't see the text Kagami sent to her.
Kagami:
I have something to tell you.
After Marinette was done picking an outfit she asked her tiny friend if it looks good on her, "It looks good on you Marinette!" Tikki said to Marinette, the other Kwamis getting out of the box agreeing with Tikki. "Thanks guys, Now please hide in the box till I come back, Tikki you can hide in my bag" Marinette said to the Kwamis and following what their master said, "I'll bring back something" she last said to the Kwamis before going downstairs,
She saw her parents in the bakery, "Oh, Marinette where are you going?" Sabine asked, holding a fresh batch of Croissants. "Just meeting up with Kagami" Marinette replied grabbing a croissant to eat on the way there and kissed her parents cheeks, Marinette waves goodbye and went to their usual place.
She sees Kagami already there sitting with two set of glasses of orange juice, Marinette takes a seat in front of the Japanese girl. "Hey Kagami, This is new I'm usually the one that invites you out" Marinette chuckles. Kagami stays silent and takes a sip of her orange juice, after she took a sip she remained silent, Marinette was the one that broke the uncomfortable silence. "Is something wrong Kagami?" The baker girl asked, "You know you can tell me anything" She added.
Kagami takes a deep breath. "Marinette..." She started, "As you know. I don't hesitate whatsoever." Marinette doesn't reply but nods her head letting Kagami talk, "But when it's about you, I hesitate, I second guess myself. I never done that Marinette, to anyone, except for you." Kagami takes a deeper breath than the first one,
"Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I like you." Kagami said straight to the point, She doesn't look at Marinette worried if the girl she loves looks at her with disgust. But after a few minutes of silence the Japanese girl looks up to see Marinette red as a tomato.
'Ah'
Kagami has forgotten about Marinette not being good with compliments or even confessions, "A-are you sure Kagami, that you l-like me?" Marinette stutters. "Yes i am certain that I like you Marinette" Kagami said, She looks at Marinette and asks her "What's your response Marinette?" a bit of worry coming out at the end. Marinette breaks out of her blushing mess,
"Look Kagami..." Kagami stiffs up "I honestly don't know if I like girls," Kagami slumps down a bit not enough for Marinette to notice. As Kagami was about to speak Marinette cuts her of, "But, I do know that I like being with you Kagami. So I'm willing to try to be in a relationship with you Kagami" Marinette said then freaking out and says "If you're willing to do it" She becomes a blushing mess again.
Kagami smiles and Marinette blushes harder "Thank you for giving me a chance Marinette!" Kagami said excitedly, which made Marinette feel warm in the inside 'No questions ask, I am definitely gay.' Marinette thought,
Kagami moves her chair closer to Marinette and holds her hand. "Can I kiss you Marinette?" the baker girl says nothing and nods, in mere seconds Kagami's lips was touching Marinette's. It was a brief kiss but to Marinette it felt like eternity, they then continued to talk about boundaries in their relationship.
But to Marinette it was a blur after the kiss, when she came home she still felt like she was on cloud nine. She went upstairs her Kwamis got out of the box and asked her if she brought anything back, all she said to them was "I have a girlfriend now."
