Jano's keys

Kaeya had always loved to travel, perhaps that's why shortly after arriving in Liyue he had already planned to visit other nations.

During his travels he had ignored anyone familiar to him, but at the same time he had met new people.

Sometimes he ended up realising that he was talking to the friends Traveller had told him about.

Inazuma was the first nation he visited, where he met several people, but the most important connections would be the Kamisato brothers and Yae Miko.

In Sumeru he had not stayed as long as in Inazuma, because Kaeya was afraid of meeting Lisa, who should still be there.

Fontaine was a strange experience, it was not easy to explain, it was in this nation that Kaeya met and talked to someone he had met for the first time, not counting Liyue, the person in question was Charlotte, who introduced him to Navia.

After this Kaeya had fled to Fontaine with the excuse that he wanted to return to Liyue because he missed his friends.

Natlan had been the best nation to visit, for it had been the only one where he had not encountered any important figures and had wandered quietly, the only thing to note was that there were quite a few redheads.

Perhaps for this very reason Kaeya let out a sigh as he set foot in Snezhnaya, a cold nation, where there were also redheads apparently.

Kaeya had avoided the Fatui headquarters a little too much and had wandered around the small villages alone, there was nothing strange about Snezhnaya at first.

Keyword, at first, for in his last week he met a little boy who looked too much like the 11th of the Fatui.

The boy was alone as his parents had to look after his siblings and Kaeya had felt responsible, had ended up extending his stay to look after the boy.

Now that Kaeya had returned to Liyue from his trip from Mondstadt he noticed that Venti had commented to him that the 11th Fatui was acting strangely.

"What happens if someone remembers after having their past changed? do they remember two pasts or do they forget one of them?"

Kaeya had returned quietly to Liyue, he wasn't in the mood to smile, but he also didn't want to worry anyone, especially Hu Tao.

Maybe right now the best person to talk to would be Zhongli, but on second thought it would be odd to seek out the King of Geo to talk to him about his problems.

Not to say that, even though Morax had fought against Celestia, even Venti wasn't sure where the old dragon's loyalties laid.

Without really knowing the reason Kaeya decided to go to the harbour, feeling the breeze and the smell of salt was soothing, it reminded him of how as a child he enjoyed looking for shells in the sand.

It was only when he was in a secluded spot, looking out into the sea that Kaeya was able to let his guard down and slap himself for what he had been about to do.

At night, when he had been talking to Diluc he had almost kissed him, Diluc had known him for only two weeks and Kaeya had almost kissed him.

He had almost taken advantage of Diluc's innocence, who knew nothing.

It was possible that Kaeya was exaggerating a bit, but even so, Diluc and he were just friends right now.

Not knowing what to do, he stared at the harbour for a little longer, perhaps if he closed his eyes for a moment all of what had happened could be forgotten.

Kaeya didn't even notice that he had fallen asleep.

It was already nightfall when something annoying woke him up by shaking him.

-Hey comrade don't go sleeping in places like this! Someone might try to rob you.

Ajax didn't expect to stumble upon a sleeping drunk in the harbour as soon as he arrived in Liyue, the drunk was also very attractive.

Ajax didn't have a weakness for attractive men at all...

In short, Ajax wasn't about to leave someone in a situation where he might be in danger, so he decided to wake up the sleeping beauty in front of him.

The sleeping beauty in question, Kaeya, could only be shocked to see the 11th Fatui in front of him.

"Look, strange things have happened to me but I'm sure this child is the 11th Fatui."

What Kaeya didn't expect was that this same Fatui would stare at him for a few seconds before shouting.

-Brother Kaeya! I knew you looked familiar! Long time no see!

At that moment Kaeya realised something, when he travelled to Snezhnaya when he was 13, he had met a little boy...

Apparently that same boy was the eleventh of the Fatui.

The only thing he remembered about the eleventh Fatui was that he fought alongside Morax, in short his information about him was between zero and nothing.

Cursing internally, Kaeya sighed and smiled at him.

-Ajax, how long has it been, how did you get to Liyue?

Ajax's eyes seemed to sparkle for a few moments.

-It's you! And you remember me! For a moment you made me doubt!

Kaeya didn't know what to make of the boy in front of him, he reminded him of Hu Tao, too much energy for one body.

-Well, you made quite an impression, and is not like you're hard to forget.

Kaeya could see the boy let out a soft laugh, on the inside Kaeya admitted that he was not against adopting another child in Liyue.

Ajax watched Kaeya rush out of his house, it was a normal situation lately, Kaeya had been preparing for his trip to Mondstadt for a month now and Ajax had decided to accompany him.

Staying in Liyue was boring, Kaeya was taking care of everything without breaking a sweat.

And Ajax was getting bored of fighting any Adeptus he could catch unaware.

Still, he didn't run into Zhongli, not even once, he didn't know whether to thank his luck or not.

Another thing to note was that he had become famous for being a troublemaker, he had been arrested seven times, all for misunderstandings if you asked Ajax, and each time Kaeya had to go and get him out of trouble.

Needless to say, Yanfei was exasperated with him.

Yet if you asked any resident of Liyue they would answer with a sigh, a tired face but a smile on their mouths.

'Ajax? That little bastard managed to break my roof trying out a new weapon, yet after apologising hundreds of times he fixed it and renovated it in record time, you get attached to him eventually'.

The biggest problem of staying in Liyue for Ajax was that he had kind of ducked his responsibilities, fortunately the Tsaritsa ended up allowing him to stay there and did not punish him.

Another problem was his family, that although he had been half sold to the Fatui, the little ones were not to blame.

From time to time he would return to visit Snezhnaya, when he finally returned to Liyue Hu Tao and Kaeya had already prepared a dinner and a sleepover for him, they never asked how it went, it was better that way.

Deep down Ajax knew that both Kaeya and Hu Tao knew what was going on, so he was grateful that they didn't force him to talk about it.

Ajax had noticed that those two looked older than they really were, Kaeya had that look that implied he had been through too many losses, while Hu Tao tried to hide her maturity with jokes.

Hu Tao was only a year older than him and Kaeya two, even if Kaeya hid it for some reason.

Still, Ajax had learned a lot from those two, for example Kaeya had taught him weapons he had never seen before.

And Hu Tao was the one who had been a huge emotional support, Ajax couldn't repay her enough for what she had done.

Now if anything, the biggest problem was getting strong and finding out what his teacher meant by everything she said.

Look Ajax wasn't dumb, he was actually pretty smart, but reading between lines wasn't his thing.

He wasn't going to rack his brains trying to figure out what the hell his teacher meant by all that.

For now he was going to concentrate on his holidays in Mondstadt, besides Kaeya had told him that he had friends there.

It was going to be really interesting, right?

One thing some people knew was that if you looked for Diluc you could find him in Vanessa's tree playing with a coin.

It wasn't always the case but the odds were high, Diluc was going to be 18 in two days and yet he couldn't help but feel that something was missing.

He had been on the verge of sending letters to Kaeya, only to finally chicken out and not send any.

Diluc was more afraid of Kaeya's reply than anything else.

Even so, he kept the coin Kaeya had given him carefully.

Hopefully if he kept it long enough one day Kaeya would return to get it back.

Diluc had begun to remember his dreams little by little, many of them made no sense, others were situations that could happen in the future, it was confusing but at the same time it made him feel an immense sense of emptiness.

The reason why Diluc had decided that after work he would go to the tree was because of the dream he had had, in the dream Kaeya was crying, there was only ruins behind and he could feel immense pain.

In the dream he had begged Kaeya to run away.

He closed his eyes and sighed, the bard had told him that when the time came he would know what the dreams meant, but when was that time?

There were times when Diluc just wanted to have Kaeya with him, Kaeya's presence itself reassured him, the look in his eyes let him wonder what would have happened if he had asked him to stay.

Would Kaeya have accepted? Or would he have been met with a look of disdain?

Diluc didn't know that with just one look from him, Kaeya would have done whatever he wanted, even if it was just jumping off a cliff.

In situations like this it was Lisa who usually came to bring him out of his trance, when Diluc fell asleep Lisa would come and bring him back home.

Lisa was surprisingly strong, absurdly so in fact.

Diluc sometimes wondered how strong Lisa would be if instead of sitting around all day reading she actually trained.

Yet Lisa sometimes looked at him with sadness, as if she knew something that he didn't.

It was very possible that this was the case.

Still, it didn't matter, after all there wasn't much he could do, at least for now.
