Cástor and Pólux
Diluc woke up in a cold sweat, it was Friday and he had nothing to do, yet he couldn't get yesterday's dream out of his head.
What was going on? Why?
Not knowing what to do Diluc ended up in front of the door of the room where Kaeya was staying.
Kaeya was someone mysterious, someone who had come to Mondstadt from Liyue, someone who knew the adeptus and talked about them as if he had known them all his life.
Kaeya was someone who even without a vision fought better than anyone Diluc knew.
But what struck him most was the look on Kaeya's face, it was not the look of someone young, Kaeya seemed to have lived a long time, so long that he was tired.
Diluc wanted to help but at the same time he didn't even know what was happening to himself, the dreams he never remembered were starting to appear in his memory, blurred and distorted but they were there.
And in all of them Kaeya appeared, many times deformed, it was impossible to see his full face, but it was obvious that it was him.
His way of speaking was different, his way of behaving too.
But Diluc knew it was Kaeya, no matter how distorted his memory was.
But all this frightened him, why had he dreamed of Kaeya when he was young? He didn't even know Kaeya, all this was driving Diluc crazy, he was afraid that Kaeya really wasn't who he thought he was.
He was afraid that Kaeya was just pretending.
With these thoughts he entered the room and sat down next to the bed where Kaeya was sleeping, Kaeya didn't seem to notice that Diluc had entered so Diluc relaxed.
Kaeya never let his guard down outside the house but inside he seemed especially relaxed, not to say too relaxed, as if he was sure that no one would harm him.
On impulse Diluc brushed a strand of hair away from Kaeya's face which was positioned between his mouth and nose. Unable to resist he let his bare hand rest on Kaeya's face longer than necessary.
Realizing what he had done he pulled his hand away as if he had been burned and left the house without making a sound.
He ended up arriving at Vanessa's tree by chance, it was a place where his father and he used to go to relax, it was usually empty and it was a good place to go for a picnic.
Still as he turned around he could see that he was not alone, there was a bard sitting in one of the branches of the tree.
"I've seen him somewhere before, isn't he Kaeya's friend?"
-Ohoh, isn't this the little one from the Ragnvindr?
Diluc frowned, the guy in front of him seemed quite annoying without knowing why.
-Come on! Don't frown! The winds have brought you here because you are looking for answers, right?
Diluc wasn't stupid enough to fall for a scam, people who spoke ambiguously were usually liars.
-Why are you looking at me like that? Aren't you here for Kaeya?
Diluc reconsidered if he should fall for this scam to satisfy his curiosity, look Diluc was sixteen he could afford to be scammed from time to time.
-What do you know about him?
Venti blinked, not expecting to convince Diluc so quickly.
-I know a lot and at the same time I know little, he's not an easy person to get to know, you see. But I know someone who knows more about Kaeya than Kaeya himself.
Diluc stared at Venti, he didn't know if Kaeya would appreciate a stranger telling Diluc about his life, they all had things they wanted to keep private, Diluc wasn't that desperate either.
Desperate?
Diluc realized that maybe he was a little desperate, he didn't want Kaeya to leave, he wanted Kaeya to stay close to him even if it was just a little longer.
Oh Diluc wanted to be with Kaeya.
-Why are you turning all red now Ragnvindr?
Letting out a fake cough Diluc looked at the bard.
-Why are you telling me this?
-Because that person wants to talk to you and only I can make you two talk.
Diluc stared at the bard, his eyes didn't lie but it was all too hard to believe.
-Don't look at me like that, you will know when you talk to him.
The bard's smile was ominous.
-What do you mean?
-Sweet dreams Master Diluc
When Diluc opened his eyes he was in an office, in front of him stood someone faceless.
-You are young
The person in front of him looked confused, as if he expected someone to arrive but not who.
-I didn't expect Kaeya to make a move so soon, it seems he is quite desperate to help you.
-Help me?
-I'm actually feeling a little surprised, I didnt expect this to happen
-This?
Diluc was getting more and more stressed, the voice of the person in front of him was distorted in his memory, impossible to recognize.
-I want you to promise me something, no matter what happens, don't hurt Kaeya.
Diluc frowned, why would he hurt Kaeya? He would rather cut off a limb.
-I would never hurt him.
He got a dry laugh as a reply.
-Yeah sure, whatever you say, Hey you little bastard, I'm not really a person, I'm a kind of illusion recreated by memories and data, you'll soon know why this information is necessary.
Diluc couldn't help but feel a headache every time he looked at the person's face, it was really a grotesque and unpleasant image.
-There's something important you have to do for now, get stronger, you're really going to need it.
-Why me? And what about my dreams? Why is this happening? What is even happening?
Diluc heard a sigh.
-Well, I guess I can give you some information in advance, I'm an artificial intelligence created through someone's memories, my designers chose me because my body had been preserved in perfect condition thanks to an idiot using his power unconsciously.
Diluc assimilated the information little by little, it was difficult to understand what exactly was going on.
-Of course not only the memories of that person were implanted, memories of my designers were also implanted to fix the void, then little by little I got my own consciousness, when you go to Sumeru we can meet in person and I will give you more information, for now this should be enough.
The artificial intelligence looked at Diluc a little more and decided to take pity on him.
-Your dreams are not a bad thing, I can't tell you much but soon you will understand why you have them so don't think too much about it.
-Why did the bard tell me that you knew Kaeya better than he knew himself?
-I have the memories of the person who loved Kaeya the most, I'm also connected to the Irminsul, which gives me even more data about him, I guess Venti just wanted to be mysterious since I'm the one who knows the most about Kaeya right now.
Diluc watched him without daring to ask for a while.
-So who knows Kaeya the most?
-Oh that would be D̴͙͓͓͓͓͓͓̔̈́̈́͐i̸̟͕̿͆͜͠l̵̡͍͕̓̐͘u̵̡̙̠̽͒̾c̴͖̺͐̾͠
The name sounded distorted and impossible to understand but Diluc was sure, it was the same name Kaeya had said in his dream, with cold sweat pouring down his back he opened his eyes only to see the bard, Venti, looking at him.
-Good morning sleeping beauty
-They have not answered any of my questions.
The bard looked at him laughing.
-Well, if it's something like what's his favorite flower, I can answer it for you.
Diluc returned home with a lamp grass bouquet.
Fujin returned to his little doll body, his physical form was a rag doll enhanced for ease of movement.
-Oh Fujin, you're back! How did it go?
A little girl greeted him with a smile, behind him another young boy looked at him also a little worried.
-He didn't say anything cruel to you, did he?
-No, he was more like a worried child, I was surprised that I didn't consider myself even a little bit like him, I don't share his feelings or tastes, really curious.
Buer and Kuni looked at each other before replying.
-As much as you have his memories these were just a base for you to have information, so you are someone completely different, even so Diluc Ragnvindr's memories will be eliminated as time goes by, in fact many of his memories have already been eliminated, haven't they?
The little doll nodded, at the beginning he could remember all the memories perfectly, now on the contrary it was more like remembering a story that a friend had told you.
Fujin was an artificial intelligence that had achieved self-awareness, his creators had treated him like a little brother and that's why Fujin had never doubted that he was a person.
-I guess we can only wait for now.
Kuni watched the horizon, for a moment he thought he saw Inazuma.
Ajax stared at the ships for a while longer, he didn't know what to do, he had become a habinger too early but now he had too much free time to spare.
Going to Liyue would be dangerous.
Going to Liyue would be suspicious.
Going to Liyue might endanger him.
So his best option was to go to a nearby place and by chance end up in Liyue, after thinking about it for a while he decided that Sumeru was his best option, after all Sumeru was really interesting too, with a little luck he might meet an opponent strong enough to keep him entertained.
Without thinking twice Ajax got on the first ship bound for Sumeru.
Kaveh stared into the void, after dying in an accident he had returned to the past, the problem was that he had ended up living with Alhaitham regardless.
Even earlier than normal, which was weird, now he didn't know how to act when the future Grand Sage was acting so cute. Was it because he was young? Was Alhaitham always so cute?
Kaveh didn't know what to do, at least he had gotten a new friend, Hat Guy! Surprisingly he also remembered and although they hadn't been very close in the past they now got along quite well, it was really fun not having to study and being able to hang out with friends.
Kaveh for the first time felt like he was lucky, although he was still worried about something," why do I feel like I'm getting too lucky?"
For some reason Kaveh felt that there was something that no one was telling him.
Tomo watched as Kazuha played with Tama, his cat and smiled.
Tomo had returned to the past and didn't know what to do, luckily someone had spoken to him by chance, the indigo haired young man, with a uncanny resemblance to the Shogun, looked at him and reassured him, he didn't look like a bad kid.
With a smile he looked forward to introducing his new friend to Kazuha.
