Abusive Primary

The clues all led Weiss here. Her latest hunt and query had proven surprisingly adept at blending in and not drawing attention to themselves.

She had to hand it to them in that regard. If they weren’t a soul sucking parasite she might even respect them. Well that wasn’t true as she did respect them even if only slightly.

Most of the parasites she’d had to hunt had no problem leaving trails of corpses or broken families in their wake but this one was doing their best to blend in.

It was almost a shame she’d have to kill them, but vampires were all evil to a fault according to her ever experience with them. Some more than others, but they couldn't be trusted.

Her clues had led her to the Beacon Blood Bank. She hadn’t gotten a picture yet, but she knew it was one of the individuals who worked here, or was associated with one of them.

Her old friend Velvet also worked there, which was another reason she was so eager to end this particular monster.

Velvet had been her friend ever since middle school, and she was going to do her very best to repay her for her genuine kindness even if Weiss wasn’t the best at keeping in touch.

One of those ways to repay that kindness was making sure she didn’t end up as a snack for some monster masquerading around pretending to be a human. Velvet wouldn't know but Weiss would and that's what mattered. That and her safety.

Weiss, when she was younger, hadn’t known, but her family were hunters of creatures of the night. Vampires were their specialty, but she knew enough to at least fight, or avoid other various supernatural creatures.

Her mother had trained Winter who had trained her in turn after…certain events had happened.

At first she hadn’t liked it. At all. Had been in disbelief until she’d been taken to a room beneath their home where a monster laid in wait.

Horrid red eyes, with elongated fangs who wanted nothing more than to rend and tear every living thing it could for sustenance.

That had been her first kill, but not her last. She kept a journal of her own with all her notes and things she learned inside. Sadly however there were several bits of her own past she couldn’t recall. Blank holes where a memory should be, and trying to remember only brought her pain.

Winter had confided she had some as well but didn’t know anymore than she did,  and their mother wasn’t around to ask anymore sadly.

With every kill ,and bit of training she sharpened and honed her skills. She learned to see through various deceptions, and eventually shortly after her twentieth birthday Winter had proclaimed her fit to hunt on her own, although she had stressed that phones did exist as did email and she should make sure to still keep in contact or ask for help if she needed it.

The hard part was blending into society. Many of the remarkably few hunters still had day jobs, but thankfully for Weiss her mother had left them an obscene amount of wealth which made it far easier for the two of them.

Money made people stop asking questions, bought silence, treatment, information, and supplies they needed to make the world a better place.

She also had her mothers list of contacts although she hadn’t even opened that one yet. She wanted to make her own way and not rely on her mother for everything.

She was slowly working her way through her mother’s hunting journals as it was, trying to absorb and feel closer to her in any way she could without rushing things.

She would make her family proud.

Winter was currently in the same city, Vale, although she had a different target she was after.

Thankfully both vampires seemed to be rather solitary or so they’d come to find out which was good as they were much easier to deal with in that case.

She knocked on the front door and was let in, in short order. A shame for the precaution but with its location downtown she imagined the days of simply letting people come in and out were long gone.

She saw her friend give her a shy smile as she came in.

“Weiss you made it!” Velvet exclaimed as she did her best not to hop in place.

Weiss frowned in her mind but kept her smile plastered on as she cursed Cardin for his bullying in school. Due to Velvet’s build, general food preferences and the like he’d taken to mocking her by referring to her as a rabbit.

She hated the fact that years after they’d been done with the idiot he still had any hold over her friends actions.

Velvet was a lovely young woman with the cutest nose, chocolate hair, eyes…and she was here to work, and not drool over her friend despite how adorable she had remained.

“I did say I’d be by,” Weiss said after a moment with faux exasperation.

“You did, but I know you’re usually busy with your mysterious ‘job’, and have to cancel a lot,” Velvet said, complete with cute air quotes.

“It really is a job, and not some mysterious boyfriend Velvet,” Weiss responded patiently as Velvet came closer.

“Girlfriend maybe?” her friend teased and Weiss did her best not to outwardly react to that aside from shooting her an annoyed look before looking to the side.

“Well anyway,” Velvet said, switching tracks as she gave her friend a hug and took a step back. “You said you wanted to give blood, but you wanted to meet everyone first I think?” Velvet confirmed.

“That’s right. I want to know what’s going to be done with it, by who, and the procedures.”

“And the money you get paid too right?” Velvet asked, looking at her curiously.

“That goes without saying. Even if I don’t need it,” Weiss joked.

“Well not everyone is in today buuuut I can introduce you to our on site doctor. She’s really good despite her age, and she knows the ins and outs better than anyone here. She’s also…” Velvet trailed off with a faint blush.

Weiss put her jealousy and irritation aside and focused on being happy for her friend and decided to tease her.

“Why Velvet, will you be canceling our get togethers for a new partner?” Weiss teased.

Velvet covered her face with her hands. “She’s probably already seeing someone. She’s so pretty Weiss. As pretty as…” Velvet trailed off with a red blush staining her cheeks.

“Well I guess I’ll get to see her soon then?” Weiss joked in order to not focus on her own feelings. In doing so she missed Velvet’s quick glance over at her.

“Probably. So anyway here’s the intake room,” Velvet began as Weiss paid only partial attention as she clocked and analyzed various persons and places of interest.

So far no one was really standing out. There was a janitor who’d tried to flirt with her that she’d ignored but other than that every person had seemed to be who they said.

Perhaps they weren’t in today? She turned back in as they entered the storage and lab area.

“This is the lab and storage area, and this is Doctor Rose,” Velvet said shyly as she gestured to a woman sitting at a table with an uncapped thermos as she presumably jotted down some notes.

The doctor looked up and Weiss saw pearly white teeth as she smiled at her with kind silver eyes.

Unfortunately her instincts began to scream at her indicating that this was likely exactly the person she was looking for.

Doctor Rose was the vampire she came here to kill. Probably.

She took a deep breath as she saw the monster’s lips move and refocused.

“Thank you Velvet. Did you want me to take it from here?” Rose asked as Velvet shyly nodded, pinked a bit and left the room.

Well good. Now she could deal with the monster without having to explain to Velvet why she was killing her apparent crush. And that she was doing it because she was a monster and for no other reason.

“Weiss Schnee, was it?" Rose asked as she tilted her head to the side.

“What of it?” Weiss hissed, sure the vampire was aware of her family name and what it meant and got ready for a fight.

“Just wanted to make sure I got it right. I can be a bit bad with names sometimes,” Rose admitted as she bashfully rubbed the back of her head.

Weiss blinked. What in the world was wrong with this vampire? Did she manage to find a brain dead one who had no idea what her family name meant?

“So anyway your blood is usually stored here and we double check and test to make sure there’s no pathogens or problems with it. It’s stored for a little over a month and then we discard it. In theory we can use it up to forty two days afterward but we usually go with thirty five to be on the safe side,” Rose informed her.

“Is that what you were doing?” Weiss asked, gesturing to the pad.

Rose actually blushed at that. “Ah no. You see I was talked into getting another tattoo and I’m trying to think of a good one to use,” the doctor said as she held up her apparent sketchpad to Weiss.

She’d expected to see masterpieces but instead was presented what would barely be above a child’s scribble.

“These are terrible,” Weiss deadpanned before she could stop herself from potentially insulting a dangerous monster.

“Aw that’s mean. I worked really hard on them.  I just want to get one that matches this,” Rose pouted, pulling the sleeve of her shirt slightly to expose what appeared to be a rose tattoo on her arm before she covered it back up.

Wait a minute. Vampires couldn’t get tattoos. Or rather they didn’t last because once they drank blood their body healed their skin to pristine condition.

Not to mention the fact that the tattoo had seemed old and not fresh and red like it had just been done.

Had she been wrong?

“Doctor is that…tomato soup?” Weiss asked in disbelief. Vampire didn’t eat regular food, let alone pack a thermos of soup.

“Yeppers. You can call me Ruby by the way,” Ruby allowed before she refocused.  “Oh right cause it kinda looks like blood right?” Ruby asked, completely misunderstanding the reason for her question.

“It’s kinda a comfort meal of mine to be honest,” Ruby admitted with a small smile as she unpacked a grilled cheese from plastic wrap.

“Along with a grilled cheese. Burnt just the tiniest bit on both sides!” Ruby said giddily as she held it up.

“Comfort meal?” Weiss asked, feeling like the world made no sense anymore. She had been so sure this was the vampire she was hunting.

“Yeah my sister and mom always made it for me when I was feeling down. Just something about it always made me feel better,” Ruby declared brightly.

Damn this woman was bubbly, and cute. No wonder Velvet was smitten. She was exceptionally easy on the eyes.

She hadn’t paid much attention before but dark hair with red tips of all things, and a lean build with silver eyes painted a very attractive picture.

“Oh sorry I was rambling. I do that sometimes. What else would you like to know about getting your blood drawn? Are you not a big fan of needles?” Ruby asked kindly as she put her sandwich down.

“What do you do with the expired blood? Is it disposed of on sight?” Weiss asked to extend the interaction. She needed to understand why her senses were screaming at her when nothing was lining up.

Wait, she mentioned a sister. Could that be what she was getting the feeling from?

“Ruby,” Weiss interrupted the woman who had been going on about proper disposal procedures to blink at her.

When she focused on Weiss she took a deep breath and asked. “Do you see your sister all that often?”

Ruby gave her a strange look but relented anyway. “Uh sometimes? We’re both night owls though so it’s mostly usually at some hang out of hers. I think one of her girlfriends might be into night raves or something,” Ruby offered.

“Why do you say that?”

“Oh she has these weird red contacts she wears, like, almost all the time. I think,” Ruby said as she thought about it.

Oh…

“And what about your sister?” Weiss asked then clarified when Ruby looked confused. “Does she wear red contacts all the time too?”

“Oh, uh sometimes. Her eyes are normally kinda like lavender or purple I guess, but I think she wears them sometimes so her girlfriend doesn’t feel as bad she’s the only one. I have seen her girlfriend with green eyes before I think?” Ruby offered although she was clearly confused as to why Weiss wanted to know.

This made a lot more sense. Being Ruby’s sister’s girlfriend was close enough she was putting off the vibes from her close contact, and it ensured she probably had a fresh, or fresh enough supply of blood in case they needed it.

It would also explain why the vampire hadn’t merely killed them and moved on. Why waste a potential treasure trove?

Vampires could be very patient when the need suited them, and the reward was worth the effort. What could be more rewarding for a vampire than an entire nearly endless supply of mostly fresh blood?

Acting normal by having a partner would also help throw people off their trail.

Yes this made much more sense than the slightly goofy and adorable doctor being an inhuman monster.

Not to mention that it would give her an excuse to keep coming around to see both her and Velvet.

This was a much more solid and pleasing theory to work with.

“Say Ruby, would you say these visits to your sister are fun?” Weiss asked and winced. That was…her flirting definitely needed some work.

“Sure, but did you have any questions about giving blood?” Ruby asked confused as to why she was so far off topic.

“As long as you and Velvet are the ones that take it I’m sure it’s fine,” Weiss said offhandedly as she thought about making a new plan.

“Oh, alright then. If you want we could do it now? Normally you book an appointment but we can do some pre-screenings and take some now if you want since I have some free time. You’d have to make appointments any other time you came back though,” Ruby offered as she recapped her thermos.

“I’d hate to interrupt your lunch,” Weiss protested but only barely as Ruby stood up.

“Nah it’s fine. I get paid the same so I can just take the rest later. Let me call up Velvet and we’ll get you started. She’ll bring the paperwork,” Ruby explained.

“Paperwork?”

“Mhm gotta get your basic information down, call back number in case there’s an issue on either end, that sort of thing. No worries,” Ruby assured her as she quickly paged Velvet.

“You know I feel like medical practices are the only places with pagers anymore,” Weiss pointed out.

“Yeah I know what you mean, but I kinda like them. I like the quaint charm. It’s why I still have a flip phone,” Ruby giggled as she held up a battered old phone that looked like it had been in use for a decade.

“Really?” Weiss asked semi-amused. Then again everyone had quirks.

“Well yeah. It’s simple and does what I need, and I can use a computer or something if I need more when I get home. Why spend a house payment on a phone? Plus when I’m done I can snap it closed and feel like a super secret agent,” Ruby confided to her as Weiss lost her composure for a moment and giggled.

And to think she’d thought the woman a dangerous monster when she came in here.

“Ever think about what your code-name would be?” Weiss asked as they walked down the hallway toward one of the rooms.

“Not a bit. Agent Rose is kinda cool but I mean it gives the name away you know?” Ruby mused.

“I can see how that’d be a problem for a secret agent,” Weiss agreed as she continued to make sure there weren’t any monsters around as Ruby gestured for her to enter a room

“Velvet is just getting the forms so she’ll be here in a few seconds,” Ruby assured her as she went over to a small mini fridge.

“So typically to make sure you don’t get dizzy or suffer from low blood sugar we have cookies and juice afterward. Are you allergic to anything?” Ruby asked kindly as Weiss sat down in the provided chair.

“Not that I’m aware of,” Weiss replied as she gestured to a can of soda rather than the juice.

Ruby shrugged and made sure to put it in front of the fridge with a small packet of cookies.

“Ok, so like Velvet probably told you it’ll take about ninety or so minutes for a blood donation. We’ll put it in your non-dominant arm. If you want we can leave you be and you can just play on your phone or something,” Ruby offered.

“I’d rather you stay,” Weiss said before her mind could stop her from speaking.

Ruby blinked but shrugged agreeably.

She really needed to get a hold of herself but this blood loss was making it hard to…they hadn’t even started the procedure yet. Damn it.

“Hey Weiss!” Velvet said as she entered the room with a clipboard she handed over.

“Velvet,” Weiss greeted her friend as she accepted the clipboard and began filling out the paperwork missing Ruby leaving the room.

“So what did you think of the doctor?” Velvet asked suggestively.

Weiss couldn’t help it, her face flushed which caused Velvet to giggle at her. The traitor!

“Shhh!” Weiss tried to silence her.

“Don’t worry she got called up to the front a second ago so we have a few minutes before she’s back,” Velvet assured her friend.

“You get it right?” Velvet almost begged her friend who paused from writing down her information to stare at her.

“Velvet that woman can ignite a rock with desire. She’s absurdly attractive to any lesbian with eyes,” Weiss said before she gasped as she realized what she’d admitted to.

“Ha! I knew it,” Velvet said giddily. “Um sorry though if you didn’t want to actually tell me,” Velvet apologized as she shrunk back slightly.

“It’s fine. Truthfully I should have told you a long time ago. You’re my best friend Velvet,” Weiss promised as she gently took one of Velvet’s hands and gave the fingers a gentle squeeze.

“With how your father was, I don't blame you,” Velvet said softly as she squeezed back. “He just makes me so mad! I assumed you had to hide almost every part of your personality because of him!”

Weiss smiled. When Velvet was passionate about something it was adorable and heartwarming in equal measures, and to have it directed on her behalf?

Maybe she should do something about it.

Before she could however the door opened and the two burst apart like timid school children instead of the young women they were.

Thankfully Ruby didn’t appear to notice anything amiss as she was looking at a few papers.

“Alright so everything is squared away and they’ll call us if they need either of us back there. How’s the paperwork going?” Ruby asked as she looked up from her own for a moment with a raised eyebrow.

Weiss silently handed it over and Ruby flipped through it and nodded.

“Looks to be in order. Are you ready to get to the point?” Ruby asked with a cheesy smile as she raised her eyebrows up and down as a joke.

“I think I’ve changed my mind,” Weiss deadpanned.

Ruby thankfully just smiled at that. “Sorry my sister makes puns a lot. And my dad. Guess I got it from them sometimes,” Ruby apologized as she sat down.

What happened after that was a relatively normal half hour as Ruby and Velvet chatted with Weiss and each other as she slowly had her blood drawn.

It was…nice. The life of a hunter was rather lonely when you got down to it. Not that you couldn’t have loved ones, but most preferred the life of solitude.

Weiss had thought she might but over the last few years she’d grown lonely and was self aware enough to realize she wanted a companion, friends, and the like.

Reconnecting with Velvet, and perhaps getting to know Ruby better would be an excellent first step.

She felt herself drifting off. That was strange because ever since she’d started training it had been drilled into her to not sleep unless she was sure she was safe in her surroundings. She rarely even went to the hospital instead paying for a discreet doctor who was ‘in the know’.

Well he and his wife. Ren was very good at what he did and discrete, and Nora was a surprisingly good nurse despite her propensity for being loud.

She saw Ruby giggling at something Velvet was saying and then drifted off between one word and the next.

She woke with a start and saw that nothing appeared to have happened. Well not entirely, the machine was still whirring and Velvet was gone, likely having been called away.

But where was Ruby?

“You know it’s been a while since I’ve had such delicious blood hand itself over to me,” Ruby said sensually from the side as Weiss’s eyes grew wide as a pair of fangs glistened from where they barely poked out of her mouth and over her lips.

“Don’t worry, good hunter. It’ll all be over soon,” Ruby said as she leaned in close to her neck.

To her great mortification Weiss felt herself growing warm at the thought as much as she was terrified. All the signs! She should have known!

Right as she was about to bite down Weiss blinked and fluttered her eyes trying to calm her racing heart.

The machine whirred just as usual and there was no Velvet. She made herself turn to the side and to her relief there was no Ruby.

The other side of the room caught her attention as a figure sat at the desk slightly nodding their head in time to the music they were hearing on their headphones. A few notes so loud they escaped and made it over to Weiss’s ears.

What a nightmare!

Her eyes narrowed, or was it? She put her hand to her neck and felt for a set of holes and let out a sigh of relief at finding none.

The machine sputtered to a halt and a shrill noise rang out that must have pierced whatever music was playing as Ruby took off her headphones and came over with a smile.

“Howdy just let me check on this and we’ll get you a tasty cookie and your soda!” Ruby promised as she gently removed the needle from her arm and began labeling the bag.

Weiss however felt as though she needed another test to confirm the gorgeous woman wasn’t a bloodsucking monster. Her nightmare had brought the hunter inside her out in full force, and she needed to be sure before she spent any more time with her, or allowed her to be around Velvet.

She smiled as Ruby wrapped a bandage around her arm with a cotton ball and went over to the fridge.

The idea of trying to stake her called out to her but if she was as human as she’d acted so far the last thing she wanted to do was accidentally murder her, or worse alienate her so she couldn’t get her number, or get to speak with Velvet again!

She decided to be more subtle and instead took out a vial of actual holy blessed water and sprinkled it on her palms before she put it back up her sleeve.

“Alrighty! Check it out! Zeebler chocolate chips and Shark Punch Cola!” Ruby said, showing off the ‘stash’.

“Velvet is getting your card,” Ruby explained as she handed over the drink and cookie and Weiss made sure to brush her slightly wet hands against Ruby’s who didn’t flinch.

“Card?”

“Oh yeah, so we don’t keep cash on hand. Too much of an incentive for someone to try to rob the place, or hurt one of the workers.

Instead we give out cards that kinda work like credit cards now. You donate blood and the next business day we send you the money on your card which you can spend anywhere that takes normal cards. Safer that way,” Ruby explained.

“I see.”

“Thanks by the way,” Ruby said with a smile as she stood with her hand behind her back smiling.

“For what?”

You’re O negative! A universal donor! You’ll definitely save someone's life, so thanks!” Ruby said with a bright smile.

Velvet thankfully kept Weiss from making a fool of herself any further as she entered the room and presented a card to her she accepted.

“You can give twice a week if you want, but try to eat a meal heavier in iron than normal,” Velvet advised as Ruby nodded.

“Usually people do it once a week or even once every other week. You’ve got super cool blood though so if you want to come twice a week we won’t complain,” Ruby joked with a wink as she leaned back against the table.

“Actually I was wondering if you could introduce me to your sister, and her girlfriend,” Weiss said as Ruby made a face that looked halfway between resigned and disappointed.

“Are you another one of her ‘angry exes?’” Ruby asked, clearly not pleased at the idea.

Even Velvet was giving her a look that said she wasn’t all that fond of what she was hearing at the moment so Weiss rushed to clarify.

“No, I'm a detective working on a case,” Weiss lied, “and one of the possible persons of interest is a woman matching your sister’s girlfriend's appearance.”

“Oh man. You mean Yang could be in trouble?” Ruby asked worriedly.

“It’s only a possibility, but the person I’m tracking might be a murderer so I’d like to meet your sister as soon as possible,” Weiss said.

“That’s your job?” Velvet asked, looking impressed and a little concerned as she shot a look at Ruby.

“I just wanted to help people, but yes mostly,” Weiss said, trying to play it off.

“Uh well I think she’s out of town today, but she did send me a message asking to catch up later in the week. I think she mentioned a club ‘Dusk til Dawn’?” Ruby said as though she wasn’t entirely sure she had the name right.

“I’ve heard of it. It’s a popular restaurant and bar. Don’t go on dates often?” Weiss teased as Ruby blinked bashfully.

“Uh, not really. I just work here, hang with Velvet sometimes, or stuff like that. People think I’m kinda weird,” Ruby admitted as she toed the floor and Weiss noticed she was actually wearing sneakers.

She also shared a look with Velvet who was looking at Ruby with wide eyes.

“Then you’re in luck,” Weiss said as Ruby brought her head up to look at her.

“You’ll be on a date with two lovely ladies at ‘Dusk til Dawn’ later in the week.”

“Oh wow really?” Ruby asked with wide eyes as she looked between the two.

Velvet also looked like a deer caught in headlights.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to make things awkward. I just figured we’d go out and have fun while we waited on your sister.

If it turns out she’s not who I’m looking for, we can have a good meal, and well, if she is in trouble you’ll be able to help convince her more than I could randomly coming out of nowhere and trying to let her know her girlfriend is a killer,” Weiss reasoned.

“Oh…yeah that’s why. That makes more sense. Sure just set it up with Velvet and let me know,” Ruby said neutrally as she left the room with the blood bag to take it back to the lab.

When her footsteps faded away she saw Velvet had narrowed her eyes. “What was THAT?”

“I…I’m really rusty at flirting,” Weiss admitted.

“You don’t say?” Velvet snapped and Weiss winced. Velvet rarely got upset but when she did it was usually in defense of her friends, or someone close to her, and she was vicious as her tongue grew far sharper than any sword.

“Great now she thinks…and why wrap me up in this, Weiss? I know you, you always have a plan or idea. You don’t do spur of the moment things like that,” Velvet said tapping her foot in agitation.

“I just…thought that you liked her and might enjoy a chance to get to know her on a date?”

“Yes I would have, but you not only invited yourself along, which was fine, but made it seem like you were just doing it because of your case and not because you actually like her…or...” Velvet mumbled the last bit so softly even Weiss couldn’t hear her.

“Velvet I didn’t mean to-”

“I know, and that’s probably one of the worst parts. I just thought that after all this time…never mind. I’ll set it up and send you the information. I just hope it was worth it,” Velvet sighed sadly as she escorted Weiss out of the building.

She couldn’t muster up any words to say even as Velvet stood there and closed the door. Of course since the world had a sense of humor it was raining.

She stared at the door as she walked away slowly.

No. She was Weiss Schnee. She could fix this. She would do so! And she’d take her anger out on that vampire she was chasing as well.

And if she ended up with one or a pair of girlfriends? Well Ruby already said she was weird so Weiss would be weird with her! And Velvet!

“Your friend is interesting,” Ruby commented as an opening volley as Velvet came into the lab area where she was back at work already.

“Yeah. Listen, boss…Ruby,” Velvet corrected as she pinked a bit when Ruby shot her a light glare when she didn’t use her name.

“She doesn’t mean to be like that. Really she doesn’t,” Velvet said. “She’s always been a bit uh, well…”

“It’s alright. You mentioned she had an unpleasant home life so I don’t hold it against her really,” Ruby said although her voice was fairly soft as she sighed and dropped her sandwich in the trash clearly not hungry anymore.

“But she hurt you,” Velvet hissed, sounding almost possessive.

“And it was an accident. I know Yang has never meant to, but I’ve kind of always lived in her shadow. People ignore me, and are attracted to her because she has this bombastic larger than life personality and what not,” Ruby explained as she took a drink out of her thermos before putting it to the side.

“And I’m just me. Little old boring Ruby quietly puttering about in the background. I guess I should be used to it really.”

“You shouldn’t have to be used to it!” Velvet protested as Ruby gave her a sad smile that made her seem years older than she was.

“You’re sweet Velvet. Oh I forgot to mention it earlier but cute headband today,” Ruby complimented the woman who eeped as she made sure said headband was still in place.

“Come on we don’t have much left to do before we can get out of here alright?” Ruby said with a small smile as she continued her work.

Velvet frowned as she left the room.

Darn it Weiss! She knew her friend, and knew that she was mostly a kind and caring person, who usually did her best to avoid situations like this of her own making, but what a mess!

“I suppose I should see what time I do have off and make reservations,” Ruby mumbled to herself as she pulled out a small planner on her desk. “If only,” Ruby said as she thought about the potential of a double, or rather triple date or would it be more like a one and a half date? Yang would know for sure…,and then accidentally charm both of them away from her before anything could happen.

Such was the way of things in her life. A shame really since both Weiss and Velvet were rather cute. Perhaps she could use this time to set the both of them up on the date? There was clearly something there, and it would make things easier in the long run.

She’d call Yang up anyway.
