They were all gathered at a party hosted by Katinka, a well-known socialite and her girlfriend matilda. It was a grand event with a huge guest list, which included many famous personalities such as Derek Zoolander, the famous male model, and his archrival, Hansel. These two shared a history that went back to the time when Derek accidentally threw a book at Hansel's face, leaving an ugly scar on his cheek.
The atmosphere was lively, with people chatting, laughing, and enjoying themselves. The air was filled with the sound of music, and the smell of delicious food and drinks. Guests were seen mingling with each other, some catching up with old friends while others striking up new conversations.
As the night progressed, people started to loosen up and indulge in drinks. Many were seen holding glasses of champagne and other beverages, sipping away and enjoying the party to the fullest. The dance floor was packed with people swaying to the beat of the music, and the whole room seemed to be alive with energy.
“Hey brah,” Hansel said, greeting Derek with a nonchalant nod. He was used to being the center of attention, but this time he felt out of place. Nevertheless, he put on a brave face and greeted Hansel with a curt nod.
“I'm not your ‘brah’,” Derek answered, his tone serious and stern. He was not in the mood for Hansel's antics, and he wanted to make that clear from the start.
The two of them continued to exchange words, neither willing to back down. Derek couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration; he was tired of Hansel's constant taunts and insults. But he knew that he had to stay calm and composed if he wanted to come out on top.
“Whatever, dude. Whatever. Peace. God bless,” Hansel said, his words dripping with sarcasm. Derek gritted his teeth, struggling to keep his emotions in check. He knew that he had to think of something fast if he wanted to get back at Hansel.
And then it hit him.
“I'm really sorry you didn't get Mugatu's Derelicte campaign. Maybe next time,” Derek said, his voice laced with a hint of smugness.
“What's that?”
“Mugatu's derelicte campaign. Sorry you didn't book it.” Derek could see the confusion in Hansel's eyes, and he knew he had the upper hand.
“Oh, yeah ? I've never even heard of it,” Hansel said, taking a step towards Derek. “Me and my friends have been too busy bathing off the coast of st. Barts. Tripping on acid changed our whole perspective on shit.”
They stood mere centimeters from each other, Hansel looking him in the eye and said, “So I guess you can ‘dere-lick’ my balls, capitan.” Derek was taken aback by the sudden aggression, but he refused to show it. Instead, he stood his ground and watched Hansel leave. As he walked away, Derek couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had come out on top, and he knew that he had won the battle of wills against Hansel.
After Derek finished his fourth drink, he felt a little tipsy and decided to step out onto the balcony to get some fresh air. The cool breeze felt nice against his flushed cheeks. As he approached the balcony railing, he noticed another figure leaning against it. It was Hansel.
"I got here first, leave," Hansel said, his voice laced with hostility.
Derek hesitated for a moment before deciding to stay. He took a deep breath and leaned on the railing next to Hansel. The silence between them was awkward, and the tension from their argument was still palpable.
"You know, I don't actually hate you, right?" Derek said, feeling self-conscious. He had never been good at confrontation, let alone apologizing.
"How would I? You don't show anything but disdain for me," Hansel retorted, his voice cold and distant.
Derek felt a pang of guilt. He knew he had been unfair to Hansel, but he didn't know how to change it. After a few moments of silence, he decided to break the ice.
"I'm sorry about earlier. I shouldn't have said those things to you," Derek said, his words sincere.
Hansel didn't respond right away, but Derek could sense that he was considering his words. Finally, he spoke.
"I accept your apology, Derek. But we still have a lot to work on if we want to be able to work together effectively," Hansel said, his voice softening.
Derek's cheeks flushed a deep red, making him feel warm despite the crisp autumn air. His heart raced as he looked at Hansel, wondering when he had started feeling this way about his friend. Derek could feel the heat radiating off Hansel's body. He was so close that if Derek leaned forward just a little, their lips would touch. It was a tantalizing thought, one that made Derek's pulse quicken. He couldn't help but wonder if Hansel felt the same way, if he could feel the electric tension between them. Despite the fear of rejection, Derek refused to back down, determined to explore these new and uncharted feelings.
He leaned in, his heart beating out of his chest. It was an indescribable feeling, like the explosion of fireworks in his chest. For a moment, Hansel hesitated, but then he returned the kiss with a passion that made Derek melt into it.
As they kissed, Derek felt like he had finally found what he had always been searching for. It was as if all the pieces of his life had finally fallen into place. He had never felt so alive and complete before.
After a moment, Hansel pulled back and looked at Derek with a mix of surprise and confusion. "What was that?" he asked.
Derek felt his face flush with embarrassment. He struggled to find the right words to explain what he was feeling. "Well, I just...you know...it was..." he stuttered, his mind racing.
Finally, he took a deep breath and spoke the truth. "I think I like you, Hansel," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Derek looked down, his mind racing with thoughts of what Hansel might be thinking. He could hardly bear the silence that lingered between them as they stood there, awkwardly. He had just taken a chance and kissed Hansel, and now he was waiting for a response. He couldn't bring himself to look into Hansel's eyes, afraid of what he might see. Had he ruined everything? Was this the end of their somewhat-dysfunctional-but-still-kinda-there-relationship?
But then, to Derek's surprise, Hansel spoke up. "Good." Derek looked up at him, his confusion evident on his face. Had he heard right? Was Hansel really okay with what had just happened?
Hansel must have sensed Derek's confusion because he continued, "Good, because I think I might like you too." Derek's heart leapt at these words, and suddenly he felt a wave of relief wash over him. Maybe this was the beginning of something wonderful between them. As they stood there, gazing at each other with newfound hope and affection, Derek couldn't help but think that this was the start of a beautiful love story.
