In The Garden (Franky x Reader)
You had been with the Strawhats for almost 2 years now and they had all taken a liking to you, Luffy was the one who asked you to join after all and the crew trusted their captain and his choices. Robin, Nami and Carrot where more than happy to have another female on the crew, another woman to talk to was always a joy for the ladies of the ship. The boys had also taken a liking to you. Sanji of course but Zoro liked you could hold your liquor, Luffy liked your laid back attitude, Usopp liked your green thumb and your awe of his sniping skills while Chopper loved your kind personality and your want to help the others. However, one Strawhat you had taken a liking to, Franky, was one of your best friends on the ship. You liked helping the shiprite repair the boat, make little trinkets and learn more about him, on the other hand he loved having the extra help on the ship and loved learning about you and your life that came before the pirates came to your aid and took you in. You spent countless hours repairing the ship when Franky wasn't around and did all you could to lighten his load of work, knowing he worked a lot under the deck, where no one saw what he was up to, you had even learnt how to change the cola the ship and Franky ran on, which was a surprise to you when you had first learnt not only the ship running on the dark sugary drink but also the man who built the ship, literally running on the same drink. You had asked Franky to see it, and by it you meant his compartment that held the cola that ran him, and he was a little surprised by your request as by this time you had only been on the ship for about 3 months. He was surprised as many people just took his word and didn't bother asking, other than Luffy obviously, but you assured him that you took his word but wanted to see such a sight yourself as you had never seen or heard of such things in the East Blue, where you were raised. Franky was more than happy to show you what held his cola, a solid metal box hidden perfectly in his stomach held three of the large bottles of the dark brown liquid, tubes running from the top of the bottles up through metal plating to more hidden parts of the cyborg. You awed in amazement at the wonders of the man before you, your finger gently running over the open doors hatch before sitting back on the chair that was given to you, telling him that you had never seen something so magnificent with your own eyes, the blue haired ship rite blushed a bit at the sweet comment and thanked you as you two got back to work.
"Hey Y/N? Yooooohooooo, Nami to Y/N, come in Y/N." Nami hummed softly as she waved a hand in front of your face as it snapped you back to reality from the now distant memory. Your feet were planted in the soft grass of the 1000 Sunny as you sat on the comfortable bench, in the warm sun of the summer, now looking to the oranged haired girl before you. "Ah, Nami. I'm sorry, what did you say?" You asked as Nami smiled a but at your confused look, giggling before she handed you a tangerine from her blooming tree, the sweet smelling orange fruit soft in your hands. "I asked what you were up to but it looks like I found my answer." She hummed as she looked to where you had been spaced out, following her gaze your eyes landed on a familiar blue haired cyborg who was sitting on the upper deck, soaking up his own sun. You felt warmth spread through your cheeks as you looked back to Nami, the girl holding back her laugh as you shook your head with a small smile on your lips. "I spaced out, it wasn't like it was on purpose." You protested but Nami just smiled and snickered as she started to the upper deck, basket full of the sweet tangerines, leaving you alone as you peeled back the fruits bitter skin and set it next to you, splitting the fruit in half as you started to eat the sweet flesh inside, secretly praying Nami wasn't embarrassing you to Franky. You had told Nami and Robin the first time you realized you had feelings for Franky but they had both promised to keep it a secret from him and anyone else as you had no real experience with any kind of proper relationship other than friends and your family. Robin found it rather adorable while Nami was nosey as ever and wanted to here everything she could from you, even if it was just you pinning for the man, sure, you wanted to tell him but that was embarrassing to you and what if he didnt feel the same? What if it was one sided? The thoughts alone made your heart hurt but you promised yourself not to expect or think like that until you asked him, then you could think whatever you wanted. You enjoyed the sweet fruit before picking up the peel and starting to the kitchen to throw it out, thinking about the plans for today as Luffy expected the crew to get to the next island before night fall but nothing was ever guaranteed out on the sea, at least, that's what Zoro liked to say.
You stared down below the ships deck to check the cola pumps, the last thing you needed was an empty bottle to slow the ship down, bare feet slowly descending into the well lit basement of the boat as you smiled to yourself, thinking again about the memories you shared with the strawhats but they slowly dissolved into purely thinking of the mans whos work you were currently admiring, the tall ship rite. You were once again pulled from your thoughts by the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs, continuing your task as you knew just who it was. "Hey Franky." You said happily as you started putting in a new bottle of cola into the machine, the empty one next to you.
"Ah, hey Y/N! I was wondering where you went, Nami had said you were in the garden but I didn't see you there so I went to the next best spot to find you." He chuckled as you fixed yourself and turned to him.
"Oh, yeah i was there for a bit but i started getting a little too warm so i came down here because its much cooler." You hummed and smiled as Franky agreed and grabbed the empty bottle from your side and started to the storage in the back, you close on his heels as the usual as you were his next set of arms, someone who helped so often that you were basically the second engineer with Franky. The cyborg put the bottle into storage and looked around the machines and pipes that ran around the area, noticing something about them. "Y/N?" He asked as you looked up to him, humming as he turned his head to you. "Did..did you clean the pipes?" He asked, normally you wouldn't have to such things but you had gotten bored the other night. "Oh..uh, yeah...I couldn't sleep last night so I decided I would come down and do some work but I guess I got carried away with it." You admitted softly as he smiled and looked back to you. "Now that's what I call suuuuuuuper!" Franky said happily, striking his signature pose, earning a small giggle from you. You had always thought his pose and saying was rather adorable but would never voice that to him, but it was still a nice thought to have with yourself, some of them weren't as common as that one but you still loved it, the blue haired man fixed himself and chuckled softly in embarrassment as he wasn't one to just pop the pose so casually. You were lost in a moment but it was quickly interrupted by a loud hiss of one of the pipes, making Franky jump a bit but he was quick to compose himself and move to the pipe that hissed, a loose bolt causing the pressure to change suddenly, the man was quick to fix the small issue and while he had his back turned you couldn't help but feel like you had some semblance of confidence.
"Franky..?" You started softly as the man was tightening the bolt, making sure it was tight as not to have another issue. You paused and looked away from the taller man as you blushed, the confidence you once had now gone from your system as you were already in too deep to try and back out. "Umm...well, I just had something...I wanted to ask you." You started as you could hear the cyborg turn around in front of you as you felt your heart do flips in your chest and your stomach screaming that you needed to stop but you really couldn't.
"Well, what is it?" He asked as he tiled his head and looked to you. You couldn't help but fiddle with your shirt before looking back to the cyborg, his face closer to yours than you had expected, making you blush and move back a bit. 'W..well, uh, you see, I, uh, umm." You stammered as you looked up to the much taller blue haired man, your heart in your ears as your palms got warm and clammy from the thoughts in your head. "Well, its just that...I...I like you.." You said pitifully as you felt your eyes avoid him, a small part of you waiting for the sudden rejection, the turn down you had heard before. The 'youre cute but I don't like you like that' that you had heard from others you had asked and yet, nothing came from him. Your eyes moved back to him as you hadn't heard him say anything as you, his jaw had dropped open and his sunglasses had fallen off his eyes, down his nose some as his eyes watched you in surprise, which caught you off guard as your face turned a light red as you felt ashamed. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't hav-" You started to move to the door but Franky was quick to grab your wrist before you were out of reach.
"Wait, please.." He said as he pushed his sunglasses to his hair and looked to you, his hand huge compared to your smaller arms, his hands just as clammy as yours as you gently stepped closer to him. "I...feel the same. I just never thought I'd...y'know.." He started as you moved closer to him, his eyes looking away for a bit as your heart had taken over your ears and you couldn't help but move till you where right in front of him, the man starting to blush and stammer as you smiled gently to him.
"Franky.." You interrupted softly as he shut his mouth and looked to you, not sure what to expect as you didn't know if he had any experience but that didn't matter to you. "I love you too." You whispered as you knew vaguely what he wanted to say. His gaze softened as his other hand moved and took your other hand in his, pulling you into him as you blushed but happily accepted the contact, Franky holding you in an embrace as he chuckled happily to himself, a single question immenating from your mouth. "When did you fall in love with me?" You asked, baffled that you could be loved so whole by someone like him. The cyborg man could only chuckle softly as he looked down to your smaller frame as he smiled. "Well, while you were in the garden of course, you looked so peaceful and calmed as you worked, and when you were helping Nami with her trees, and me with the ship, Sanji with his food and even when you help Zoro and-" He started to ramble before you interrupted him with a kiss to his lips, of course, you had to stand on your tip toes to reach him but it shut him up. Franky kissed you back as he held you close to his body, blushing at his rambling and now the soft kiss the two of you were enjoying. There was a moment of silence as you two kissed, a moment in which you two reveled in before you broke away for air.
"Wow..now that was-"
"-Suuuuuper?" You teasingly finished as he laughed and held you close.
"Yeah, very suuuuuper." He said calmly.
