Bees in Springtime

Blake was sure she was dead. How could she not be? She bled out after being stabbed, her Aura was already gone before that, and she was beaten up. 

She didn't know what she expected the afterlife to be. She knows Heaven isn't real, and expected just a numbed consciousness, lost in the darkness forever, always cold. 

But strangely enough, she felt... warm. Comfortable. A faint beeping was heard in the background. What could the beeping be...? Why can she hear it...? 

Muffled noises too... Something warm touching her hand. That's when it finally clicks. She's not dead. 

Blake mustered up what little energy she had to wake up. Her eyes flutters open halfway. She sees a figure in the corner of her eyes. To which the figure stands up, looking over at her. Blake blinks a few times, trying to clear her foggy vision. 

It came to her realization that it was her mother. 

"Blake... honey... can you hear me?" Kali was crying a bit but she still has that smile on her face. She was holding Blake's hand. 

"Mmmuh.....mom...?" Blake mumbles. Kali was relieved. She put her other hand on the side of Blake's head, gently petting. 

"I'm so glad you're okay... I'm so glad...!" Kali's voice went up a pitch on the last sentence. She couldn't stop crying. It broke Blake's heart. Blake leaned her head against Kali's hand. Closing her eyes. She felt comfortable. Sore. But comfortable. 

Blake wanted to fall asleep again, but she has so many questions... Blake took in a deep breath. No longer smelling that metallic smell she dealt with. 

Blake opens her eyes. Feeling much more awake now, she took the time to analyze her surroundings. It's obvious she's at a hospital. She had bandages around some part of her body. There was an I.V attached to her along with the heart monitor stickers. So that's what the beeping was. It was kinda annoying to listen too.

Yang looks at Blake with a small smile. Trying to tell Blake it's gonna be okay. Cruel white lies. She had blood running down her mouth. Her face grew paler and paler. Yang looked nothing more then dead. 

Blake gasped and immediately sat up, regretting after feeling that sharp pain in her stomach. She cried out in pain. 

"Blake! Lay down! You're still recovering!" Kali tried to push Blake's shoulder down to make her lay down but Blake refused. 

"Yang...!" 

"Yang...? Oh!" Kali's ears perks up in realization. "Your dear friend you've told me about. I heard th- Blake...!"

Blake was sobbing into her hands. This isn't what she wanted. At all. She wanted to be with someone she loved. She made a promise to Yang. 

A promise to Yang, that she'd never leave Yang alone. Ever. Again. 

Now Blake was going to have to live her entire life knowing that she broke her promise. Unable to be with Yang. 

"Oh... my poor kitten..." Kali scoots closer to gently wrap her arms around Blake. "Blake... my dear, your friend is okay." 

Blake's eyes widened. She pulls away, staring at her mother in confusion. 

"Yeah...! Yeah... Yang is okay. She's stable." Kali smiles. Blake once again teared up. But not from sadness. Relief. Pure relief. 

"C-Can I... I see her?" Blake questioned. Kali's ears fold. 

"I'm not sure, I don't think it's a good idea to have you move around. I don't want you opening your wound by accident." Kali caressed Blake's face. Touching Blake's forehead with her own. 

"Have faith... you two will be okay. As far as I've been hearing, you two are so strong..." Kali spoke quietly. Blake nods as she cried. 

"And so- I went in- threw a punch, TO HIS JAW!- And WAK-POW!!" 

The door opens. A nurse was standing at the doorway. "A friend of yours would like to see you." 

Then Blake, who was being supported by Kali due to her broken ankle, which has a cast. Blake looks ahead. Her breath stills. 

It's Yang. She had her hair braided. It did look cute on her, but Yang was alive. Sitting up. Staring at her with those lilac eyes. 

Blake started to cry. Yang smiles and held her one arm out, gesturing that she wanted a hug. Kali brought Blake to Yang, to which Blake hugged Yang, sobbing. 

"You're alive...!" Blake cried. 

"Of course I am! I'm not gonna let death take me so soon." Yang smiles. She sees that Blake really was in so much distress. She never really realized on how much this caused so much pain to Blake. 

"Oh Blake... I would be petting you right now but-" Yang waved her amputated arm. "-can't exactly do that." 

"So this is your daughter, that's dating mine?" Kali whispered to Tai. Who nods. "You raised a good daughter." Kali smiled. 

"This is so beautiful...!" Ruby whispered with tears in her eyes. Weiss sighed. 

"I don't wanna let go..." Blake mumbles. Yang chuckles. 

"I don't either but we're gonna have to. You should be in bed. You still look- hm. Beautiful of course but you look tired and weak. I'd love to see you be better soon." Yang gently pushes Blake back. Her uncontrollable tears running down the Faunus's cheeks. 

"Deep breath. Deeeep breath." Yang reminded. Blake nods and took a few deep breath. 

"I'm sorry that I scared you. It was my fault. I should've known better to jump into a fight when my aura was already broken. I just-" Yang scowls. "I wanted to kill him! Avenge for you! And me. But the good news is that he's been arrested!" Yang smiled. 

"Arrested? Wasn't he-" 

"Mauled by grimms? Yes. Somehow that motherfucker survived. He looks ugly as fuck." Yang laughs before coughing. "OW-" Yang pouts after that. It did make Blake giggle a bit. 

"Sweetie... we should get you back to bed. I really want to let you stay longer but you need rest." Kali held Blake's shoulder. 

"Okay... I'll go get rest." Blake said. She looks at Yang with a smile. Thank god she's alive... 

Both of them made it alive. That was the most important thing. 

"YOU BITCH!!! I FUCKING HATE YOU!!!" Adam screamed at Blake from the cage. He was pissed. 

Blake scowls. She was accompanied by Yang, her parents, and some guards. 

"Miss Belladonna... he kidnapped you at a young age and did horrible things to you. He abused you. He murdered people. And he kidnapped you again. We will give you the power, to decide his fate since you were affected by him the most." The guard informed. 

Power... to decide his fate?

"Nice! So can he die? Like now? He doesn't deserve to be alive! He's a mur-" 

"No." Blake interrupted Yang, surpirising her. Blake walked up to the cage, staring at the chained up Adam who glared at her. 

"Adam... You used to be a good person. It's awful to see you go to a dark place. But you destroyed my life. YOU GAVE ME PTSD!!! I was never the same! You made me scared of you! I couldn't sleep most of the nights because I was just so scared of you. You TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME WHEN I WAS YOUNG!!!" Blake shouted. Ghira held Kali's shoulder when he saw his wife crying. 

"Adam... I want nothing more then to have you die..." Yang smiles at that, till she realizes Blake wasn't done talking. "But I won't do that." 

"Blake...?" Yang blinked in confusion. 

"I want you to live your entire life knowing that you harmed many people including me. I want you to realize your mistake. I want you to get help." Blake looks down at Adam. 

"Come on Blake... you can kill me... its fine. I deserve it..." Adam smirks. Blake scowls. 

"No. As much as I'd love too, I'm not a monster like you are. I am not a White Fang member, who has killed people before. I am not a murderer. I am Blake Belladonna, who has an amazing family... amazing friend, and my strong girlfriend. I am loved by them. I have a life, and it is mine to control." 

Adam stared at Blake in disappointment, which was soon replaced with fury. 

"YOU'LL REGRET THIS!!!" Adam shouted. The guard stared at Blake. 

"What is your decision on this Faunus's future?" 

Blake took a deep breath. 

"For him to suffer from his mistake. I want him alive. You do whatever with him. But I'm not going to give Adam what he wants." Blake then turned around walking away. When she left the jail, Blake felt a weight being lifted off. 

She felt tears running down her cheeks. Yang immediately pulls Blake into a hug. "You did amazing. I'm proud of you. You've gotten stronger." Yang comforted. 

"We're all proud of you." Ghira said. Kali smiles with tears. She hugs Blake as well. Till Ghira joins in and comes with a bear hug, lifting the girls up. 

Yang was laughing so much while Kali chuckled. Blake smiled. 

Blake was free from Adam. She's no longer haunted by him. She finally felt... happy and calm. 

It's all thanks to the people who's been supporting her. Blake never really realized this... 

But Blake has always been brave around Adam since she was young. She stood for herself. She wasn't afraid to hit. She sometimes talked back. 

But what really was the bravest thing that got her here, was leaving Adam on the cargo train while Blake was being carried away by the train.

She made the choice to cut that connection with Adam. If Blake had not done that, she wouldn't have been here in the first place. 

Really... 

It's all thanks to Yang. She gave Blake hope. Lighting up the dark world of Blake's. Taking away the shadows that haunted her. 

Blake cries with a smile on her face. 

"I love you all... so much...!"
