"Looks like you're going out", Mikey said as he took her messenger bag and threw it at her.
She and his brother made a bet: if she lasted a week without drinking blood, Mikey would get her her blood supply for a month, if not, she had to accompany him to parties and/or bars (or wherever he went) to 'socialize' in that same time.
It's not that Gee didn't like the taste of blood -quite the opposite- but it makes her go feral and that scares her. She doesn't want to kill someone at all, she has never done it and never wants to, but it sorts of pressures her to after driking it, and she has to fight the urge back. After a -mild- incident at a bar a few weeks after turning, she didn't want to take that risk again, so she stayed inside her house most of the time, and refused to leave unless it was neccesary. There weren't many other options either. Nocturnal visits to hospitals was better than rats ("I swear they're sour, taste 'em yourself!"), or Mikey going to butcher shops and buying the bloodiest packaged meat he could find.
No I'm not", she grabbed it and put it on the ground, "You're not gonna win, my resistance is getting better, plus I-"
"You're shaking and your skin's reddish, your 'increased resistance' is bullshit, and you know it"
Shit, she did. And so, after pondering for a few minutes, she reluctantly grabbed the glass that her asshole brother put in front of her when he saw her starting to tremble, and drank it.
""I know you haven't assimilated it yet or whatever, but you can't live like this forever", and he was right. She spent most of her time by herself in the basement since (most) of her friends and aqcuaintances thought she moved to the west coast. It was driving her mad, even when she was a human she didn't leave her home that much, and yet, somehow, now even less.
"So where are we going? At least I should know if I've been there before or if I might meet someone I know, you know, to prepare", she asked.
"A friend of mine has this gig in an hour or so, she's a nice person but if you think you're feeling too tired, Ray's gonna be there too, just don't stand in the corner the whole time", he put his jacket on, "Mom lent me the car, be ready in 30 minutes, we're gonna pick them up"
