Giraffe!
Luz was just walking the streets. On her way to the zoo. She hadn't been on years. Even by this times standards. She saw someone that was familiar...
"Samantha?" She asked, as the face looks like Amity, but the hair was blond and pink.
"Luz?" Sam asked back, and then sighed.
"What are doing here?" Luz asked, hoping for an answer. Sam looked at her weird.
"School trip? Wait. Didn't you get suspended. What are you doing here?" Luz started getting nervous. Crap.
"I came to see the giraffes." She trailed off, as some other kids showed up.
"What's up Sam?" Lila asked. Her brown hair, and brown eyes made her hard to spot in a crowd.
"Nothing." She said. Huh. That was... Nice?
"Who's this?" Oh. Oh right. No one would recognize her, due to the clothes and scar.
"She's a friend." Sam said, and then shook her head.
"I'm Dawn. Nice to meet ya." Not really. But a lie wouldn't hurt. Sam looked at her weird.
"Well. Best get back to the group. You wanna join us Dawn?" Max asked. His mullet bringing a rage only Belos knows.
"Ok. Sound fun." Her sketch book in hand, Sam fell back to talk to her.
"So, What happened. How did you get that scar. And I have never seen you wear sleeves, even in winter. What's going on." Luz got a smirk.
"You cheeking me out?" She asked, and the red face was so bright, Luz felt bad.
"Sorry. But. Umm.... How do I say this... You look like my girlfriend." Luz held up a photo of her and Amity from a few months ago. Sam looked at it.
"Ok. Creepy. Doesn't... Are those pointed ears?" She asked. Luz nodded.
"Whelp. Not going to ask." Sam muttered. And then looked scared.
"Oh. Worried about the whole joke about you cheeking me out? I'm Bi. And you... Probably Lesbian like your Doppelganger." She said. Sam breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hey. Where do you wanna go?" Max asked.
"I was thinking the otters. And then rub it in Luz's face." Lila said.
"I was think giraffes." Max said. Oh shit.
"How about the tigers?" Sam asked. Three choices. Shit shit shit shit shit shit. Her sketch book was being held tightly.
"Giraffes. No one should be there right?" Luz asked. Max nodded.
"Yeah. No one wants to see those freaks." Luz gave a loud snort. And burst out giggling. Sam looked at her weird.
"Sorry. Just something my Tiá said." Lila smirked.
"You auntie?" Luz stopped short. The giraffes were standing in front of them. She flipped to the ice spell. Stab them in their necks if need be.
"What's that design?" Sam asked. The others went in the direction of the otters. They would just continue on their own.
"Ice." She said, rubbing her left wrist. Sam looked at her worried.
"Ice? Do you expect the giraffes to attack or something?" Luz scowled.
"Those demons need to die." The giraffes all looked at her. Samantha shrieked.
"Oh go to hell. Actually. You got a banished form there. Go to heaven." She snarled. The face of the demon opened up. Sam was flat out screaming.
"Well. This was fun." Luz smiled like she didn't just see the muscles of an animal. Sam was backed up at a bench.
"What the fuck. What the fuck. What the fuck." She repeated over and over again. Luz frowned, and took pity on the blonde.
"Sorry. Forgot you didn't know." A shadow covered the tanned girl, and blonde. It got out.
"So... Can we just talk this out, or am I going to have to kill you?" She asked, taking off her pack, that had a bat sticking out of it.
"..." Sam was just rolling in a ball shape. Luz winced. Yeah. If she didn't read so much fantasy, and played Persona. She would be doing that too, the moment she stepped foot on the isles.
"Fight it is then." She slammed the Glyph onto the ground. It almost pierced the demon, but it had dodged.
"Well. Titan." She said, as she felt her left arm open up again. She removed her jacket, as to not get blood on it. It was the ice Glyph.
"Freeze!" The giraffes was encased in ice, it's head flailing around. Sam rushed forwards with the red bat, and hit in multiple times in the head.
"Thanks." Luz gasped out. Sam just stared at her.
"We are going to the diner, and you are explaining this." She ordered. Luz just nodded.
Luz ate another chip, as Sam took a sip of her soda.
"Explain why the hell I just bashed a giraffe's brains out, and why it could open it's face like a bloody Demogorgon." Luz nodded.
"Three years ago, instead of going to camp, I ended up in a place called the Boiling isles. Rain was boiling, sea boiling. Rainbows can turn you inside out. Demons everywhere..." Sam looked terrified.
"So at age 11, you went to hell!?" She whispered. Luz shook her head.
"Age 14. In the summer." Now Sam was confused. Sure, today Luz looked older, and more feminine. But, she was pretty sure she was the same age.
"I'm 18. It's been about three years since the day. Well. Almost. Still got about six months left." Sam nodded.
"Time travel?"
"Time travel. Apparently when your little brother is a titan, shit gets weird." Sam just looked at her.
"... Why is that not making me freak."
"You just killed a demon that was banished from the Isles. I don't think even Freddy Krueger could scare you."
"True. Continue."
"Almost got arrested. Helped a witch break into prison. The warden tried to ask her on a date." Sam looked weirdly at her.
"Try being there. Anyway, I stayed, and later learned how I got away with it. Someone took my place. A shape shifting demon. A basilisk. Vee."
"Like... Harry Potter, or different."
"Different. Mamá didn't even realize until the nutjob from the museum kidnapped my sister." Sam just looked done with everything.
"Ok. So Amity?"
"My girlfriend. Could be mistaken for your twin. Willow looks like Hannah. Gus is... I think the Gus we know. Same age too. Hunter... He's already a clone and double ganger." Sam just nodded.
"Eda became my second mum. Rain is like a... Parent... Genderless you see. And Lilith is my Tiá." Sam just nodded again.
"Your aunt has the same name as the queen of hell." Luz snorted.
"Yeah, anyway. Seems like magic is leaking into this world. And it needs sorted out. Me using the glyphs?" She opened her book. A Glyph that was for light was on it.
"That's new. Shouldn't work due to no magic is meant to be here. Kinda the reason why Amity wants to move here." Sam nodded.
"If you ever visit... I would suggest staying away from Hooty." And the two talked for hours. Until it was time to go home.
