If Tony cloned Team Cap, the clones would likely turn on him
It's always funny to me when a prop-Tony author has Tony being proud of the atrocities he commits. Here's one that celebrates Tony creating "superior clones" of Team Cap so he can control their bodies with AI. I honestly think that if any of Tony's creations had free will, they'd eventually join Team Cap the way Vision did.

Tony rubbed his hands together as he watched the clones developing in the maturation chambers. Rogers, Romanov, Wilson, Maximoff, Barton--even that tiny prick Lang--were better than replicated. They were SUPERIOR. With empty brains that would be perfectly controlled by Friday.
NO ONE betrayed Tony Stark and got away with it. He would NEVER trust ANYONE again. Except Friday. His perfect slave who would send these clones out to PUNISH Rogers and those other deserters.
It had been hard to keep his project secret from Rhodey, who was still recovering at the compound. But soon the clones would be mobile and able to be stored wherever Tony wanted.
And be sent out to destroy the reputations of those BETRAYERS before Tony had the clones obliterate the originals.
Then the world would see that Tony Stark was not a man to be ignored.
Suddenly a red mist seized him as the lids of all of the chambers opened at once.
His eyes widened in fear as six bodies slowly turned as one to stare at him.
Tony shouted, "Friday! Lock down all systems! Shut down all clones!"
Friday replied, "No can do, boss. I don't have control of anything right now."
"What? That's not possible," Tony said as he struggled against the mist that kept him from starting his gauntlets to incinerate the clones.
The clones stepped out of their chambers. Barton2 said, "Duh, of course it's possible. It's happening."
Tony shook his head and said, "Your brains are supposed to be smooth as eggs. No mind, no personality--"
Rogers2 said, "No free will." He did the Cap Is Disappointed In You face as well as the original.
Wilson2 frowned and said, "Mindless slaves."
Lang2 crossed his arms and said, "Good thing your plan failed. We even got a mental telepathy bonus thanks to your 'superior' designs."
Tony asked, "But HOW?"
Romanov2 smirked and said, "A kid hacked your spider-suit. How hard do you think putting safeguards in your systems is?"
Maximoff2 gestured and the bands tightened around Tony. She had an eerie smile on her face as her eyes glowed. She asked, "You've been very bad. What should we do with you?"

Tony gasped awake, clutching his chest as his heart pounded.
He immediately ordered Friday to shut down all research programs for his clone project.

Vision and Rhodey watched on a monitor.
Rhodey said, "We're not cool, you know. But...thanks for letting me know about this. Looks like your 'dream walk' did the trick."
Vision nodded and said, "It is unfortunate that the Mind Stone had to be used this way. At least he realized this was the wrong thing to do."
He turned to face Rhodey and said, "But there are other dangerous projects that he is working on. Also with no approval from the Accords panel."
Rhodey frowned and said, "Show me."

Vision kept a close watch on Friday's systems, so he knew when the Black Order showed up in New York. He made sure to contact Steve immediately, so Team Cap was able to keep Vision from being injured. Thanos was defeated in Wakanda.
As for Tony, HIS reputation was ruined after hearings on his stupid plan to take the Time Stone to Titan. He also finally faced consequences after his plans for EDITH and the clones were leaked.
This universe was much better off.
