In his new room, Loki lay still, seemingly lifeless to the casual observer but vaguely aware of his surroundings while unravelling Odin’s magic web.

Oh, we truly are a jealous lot, he thought. It was an old observation of his: whenever a group of mages assembled on Asgard, they’d do their best to outshine each other while displaying their undervalued, despised art. And they always ended up with an array of conflicting spells instead of a simple yet powerful one. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
