Summary
My mind went frantic while thoughts of possibilities screamed mentally at me. My boots stomped against the cement pavement as I ran down the street. Blindly bumping into people and silently apologizing whenever I knocked someone down. Turning a corner into the alleyway which led to my studio apartment, the glimpse of someone’s aura stopped me in my tracks.A fading purple smoke with blue crackling chains flickered and shifted on the ground before me as it rose and fell in shakily. Like it was breathing. I didn’t need to physically see to know who it was - it was the black-furred monkey from my vision.OrFor thousands of years, Aurora has stayed out of sight. As a celestial primate and also physically blind, she makes the most of her life without anyone finding out about her existence while doing her job as a super secret mysterious seer. However, when a vision of the future tells her otherwise and that her peaceful days in secret are about to come to an end. So, who needs help this time?

Chapter Two - Butterfly Effect (Part Two)

‘It’s locked?’

That thought rushed through my mind as my hand felt the metal barrier with the other clenching my walking stick. Heavy breaths escaped my lips as I stood in front of Pigsy’s store, panting. Trying not to panic after blindly speed-walking through the streets.

‘If it is locked, then something bad had happen… But I didn't have any visions except for that annoying persistent one. Then-’

Suddenly I felt a burst of energy from far away along with a roar of triumph. Sharply turning my head to the sky where I saw it. A large greenish-purple, bull-shaped spirit aura towered over the city as it stomped forward, causing earthquakes to be felt through the ground. An aura that I haven't seen or felt for over five hundred years.

“That's-”

“It's the Demon Bull King! RUN!”

Without warning, my body slammed against the barrier grates when everyone ran away, screaming and shoving each other. As he roared, tearing through the streets and destroying valuable buildings. Not caring that they almost knocked over a white haired, lightly brown skinned human woman wearing dark sunglasses, a large off shoulder white sweater over a gray shirt and dark thigh high boots in their haste to get away from the raging Bull demon.

Meanwhile, I struggled to stay on my feet, burying my bandaged fingers in the groves of the wall - sadly losing my walking stick in the panic. Judging by the sound of it breaking under the panicking crowd’s feet.

‘Well, there goes my way home…’; I thought as my eyes darted back up to the sky where I watched the Demon Bull king’s vengeful rampage; ‘So Princess Iron Fan and their son, Red Son, actually managed to free him, huh…”

As my gaze had focused on a smaller spiritual aura that peacefully stood nearby the giant bull - one burning red male-shaped flame who beamed up with a wide evil smirk. Seeing those two together told me that things had gone very bad before my attention drew to the sounds of several thuds in front of me.

Not only that, the fact that I couldn't see them which placed me on high alarm - taking a defensive position. Being able to see spirit auras while having no sight helped me through the years to see the world on a different level. However, there is one downside to this ability which was…

‘Robots… Why had to be robots? One of the two things that I can't see because they have no soul… Well, at least it's not zombies this time.’

As I thought, my hand shot up, stopping the metal hand which was directed at my head. A smile spread across my face, hearing the confused robotic snorts of the bull minions around me. Bending my fingers, feeling the metal warp under my grip. Before ripping the arm off the bull robot squealed - listening to the shuffling feet as it stumbled back, definitely clenching the hole where its arm was.

“Huh… It's not my walking stick, but it will do for now.”, I mumbled under my breath, bouncing the metal arm in my hands.

Before rushing at the damaged minion without warning - using the severed limb. The sounds of metal against metal filled me with glee as I struck its head with its arm. And then striking it again and again, this time destroying it with more force.

“Well, then. Anyone else?”

My smile widened, almost wishing to be able to physically see the expressions of those robots. Especially when I heard how they stepped back when I destroyed their little robotic comrade. They probably weren't expecting a little helpless human female to fight back. But I am neither a human, nor a demon as I ripped off my disguise to reveal my true form - a celestial primate.

“You owe me dinner~”

With an animalistic shriek, I jumped into the fray as the bull robots tried to get away from one white-furred hungry monkey that they dared to provoke.

Meanwhile the gang ran into trouble as they set foot on the volcanic island barrier surrounding the Flower Fruit mountain. In the form of Princess Iron Fan. Mk tried and failed to attack the demoness with Monkey King’s staff which was taken from him. As Princess Iron Fan held him over a dome of lava with one hand while holding the staff in the other, purring in dark delight.

“Oh, you silly human~ This is not yours~ Now it is time to punish such a little thief~”

Pigsy, Tang and Mei watched as their friend and family was thrown into the fire by the demoness, screaming his name. As Princess Iron Fan laughed and flew away with the staff.

“Mk?!”

Before they could move to save him or recover his body, Sandy gathered them up in his arms and rushed back to the boat at urgent pace. While Mei screamed, fighting the strong blue giant.

“Wait! We need to save Mk!”

Pigsy had to look away, feeling his heart break at the end of his son as he patted a tearful Mei’s shoulder. When Sandy released them and turned the boat around, heading back to the city.

“Mei, he’s gone.”, Pigsy softly started before looking directly in the girl’s eyes with a fiery determination for revenge, “But we can save the city in his honor.”

Which made the teary girl perk up as she nodded in agreement. As the group minus one went back to save the world from Demon Bull King’s rampage.

While they left, a very alive Mk stood up on the other side of the volcanic barrier - rubbing his head. He looked up at a beautiful waterfall which opened up in front of him. Seeing the magical scenery in awe and amazement.

“Whoa~”

After that, he rushed in without hesitation. For directions, he followed a little cute white monkey up a mountain until he stopped before a mural wall, showing the monkey king and his pilgrim friends. Which he excitedly fanboyed over in hero worship.

“Whoa~ It’s Monkey King~”

Then his entire worldview changed into a golden haze as he blinked repeatedly. As he looked around, he saw how the murals around him became animated. Seeing all the people whom the Monkey King met or fought. Setting off his fanboy senses before he noticed a different mural. One unlike the rest as it was older and more ancient than the rest.

A mural depicting four different colored monkeys who were standing side by side with their backs turned to him in various postures - one gold, one black, one white and one amber brown. Which filled him with a sense of curiosity.

Before he could take a closer look at it, his attention was drawn away at the sight of Monkey King. Who he immediately chased after. Already forgetting about the mysterious mural in favor of meeting his childhood hero.

However, one day he will revisit that mural in future. For now, he is trying to kill one Monkey King who was in his butterfly form under his heel.

“Monkey King?!”

“The one and only. So, where’s my staff?”

Mk exclaimed before kowtowing, weeping long arching streams of water as he apologized to the golden monkey for losing his staff. When the simian turned back to his original form after showing off his shape shifting ability to the boy.

But the king just laughed, crouching down as he patted the boy’s shoulder, confessing.

“To be honest, I have been watching you for a while.”, when Mk looked up to see him sitting on his tail, scratching his back with a stick and then he struck a posture to add, “To be my successor!”

This prompted the human boy to question his mental state which Monkey King disproved, saying that he survived the first time he saw DBK and his family and that he managed to survive to see him. As the golden simian lay back on his somersault cloud, eating peach flavored chips.

“Not everyone can hold my staff. But you can, bud.”

However, the fact that he lost the staff to Princess Iron Fan and that the city is being in danger deflated Mk’s mood as he sadly turned away from his hero.

“What if I am not cut out to be a hero?”

Hearing the somber tone in his successor’s voice, Monkey king stopped mid-bite of a peach chip. Before sighing as he slipped off his cloud, walking up to his student.

“Look. If you can lift the staff, you can use it. Just believe in yourself. Even a smidge makes all the difference.”

With that advice, he patted Mk’s shoulder with a cheery smirk on his face as the boy perked up at his words.

“Yeah! Now how do I get out of here?”, Mk questioned, looking back at Monkey king who went back to his cloud, relaxing and eating his chips.

The golden monkey only pointed at his junk pile, not saying anymore when Mk noticed an abandoned jet mobile. Which he immediately used and blasted out of the mountain back to the city.

“And that's the last one…”, I said, patting myself down.

Dusting off my hands and clothes after dumping the destroyed robots into a pile in an alleyway near Pigsy’s store. That was a good fight, one-sided as much as it was. It has been a while since I let loose like that. It has been centuries since I felt the rush of adrenaline. It made me giddy, with my tail excitedly wagging. Before calming down as I reapplied my human glamor, patting my cheeks.

Then I looked up, feeling the spirit aura of the Demon Bull king suddenly spiked in power. Now seeing a silvery-red female-shaped mist next to the red flame, indicating that Princess Iron Fan had returned. From where, I don’t know… As she somehow boosted her husband’s power.

“And the city is deep in trouble…”

The worry of leaving the Demon Bull king to destroy the city gripped me heavily. The fact that he was freed nagged my mind for his rage is inexhaustible. If I wanted to, I could hopefully slow down the bull demon. It would be difficult if his wife and son decide to join in. Well, the more the merrier. However, this would expose my existence as a celestial primate to the whole world.

My hands clenched by my sides as I looked down to the ground, gritting my teeth. As a dark shadow overcasted my face. For centuries, I have spent living among humans and demons in secret while helping them out with my future visions. Am I willing to risk it?

“Here. Come. Monkie Kid!”, a mighty battle cry echoed through the city which caused my head to snap up.

I watched a golden-orange comet shot across the sky and straight at Demon Bull King. Before it disappeared into his chest, causing my jaw to drop in shock.

‘Well, that was short lived…’, I unfortunately thought, feeling the Bull demon’s power spike once more as well as the sounds of his gruff laughter.

I don’t know what happened next, but there was a sudden power drop from DBK before there was a sound of an explosion and a bright light lit up the sky. Which caused me to close my eyes and cover my ears, hissing.

‘So, this is what a flash bang feels like.’

When I thought it was safe to open my eyes, I was greeted by the sight of a male shaped golden orange star. Which filled me with awe as I watched the star move, pulling a very well known staff. One that I have recognized due to its aura, whispering its name.

“Ruyi Jingu Bang…”

Then the battle began as that bright star fought the Demon Bull king. It was beautiful, just watching as he gracefully flew through the sky like a comet. Straight towards the Bull demon. As he dodged the demon king’s fists, cheerfully laughing as he danced in the air. Wielding Ruyi Jingu Bang which he used to smack the giant bull through several buildings. For once, I am not going to comment about the possibility of the little star being sued for property damage. As he fought for the city. Like a rising hero…

However, the demon Bull King found his second wind as he managed to push the little star back. He let out a mighty roar as a blast of energy exited his mouth at the hero. Which made the star flinch to the side. A mistake that the Bull demon quickly took advantage of as he smacked the little star to the ground.

Watching with a bated breath, I hoped and prayed for the little star to get up. To continue on fighting. When I saw that there was no movement from the battle, I was about to jump in, regardless of how I felt about revealing myself. Before I was stopped by a large beam of light and then a shout.

“Here. Comes. Monkie. Kid!”

And then the Demon Bull king fell. The little star won. So why do I feel a sense of dread from such a victory?

Unknown to me, another person was watching the battle, hidden in the shadows. They looked down at Mk celebrating with his friends and then up to see Monkey King flying away. A smirk spread across their lips before disappearing a puff of purple smoke. Like they were never there in the first place.

Destiny’s clock has begun to turn…
