Chapter 1
ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
CHAPTER ONE
The alarm rang over and over again, but far from waking her up from those beautiful dreams, Wanda immediately turned it off by getting out of bed.
She hadn't even been able to sleep, all night so excited knowing that the next day, she would finally get married.
Wasn't that wonderful? Finally fully uniting with the person she loved so much, in a beautiful, perfectly planned ceremony. That was heaven.
The Sokovian got out of bed so she could take a hot shower and brush her teeth. She looked at herself in the mirror once more, her green eyes fixed on that reflection.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
Oh girl, you're about to fulfill your princess dream.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The knock on the door snapped Wanda out of that reverie, turning off the tap and walking to the door.
She stopped for a moment to enjoy it, to feel it, biting her lower lip for a few seconds until Wanda opened the door.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
In front of her, Natasha Romanoff and Darcy Lewis watched her for a few seconds until the three of them squealed like teenage girls.
They helped Wanda get ready, Darcy took care of her makeup and hair while Natasha helped her with the beautiful white dress, that made her loose hair stand out.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
An hour later, Wanda Maximoff was ready to get married, looking like a goddess.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Wanda, darling, tell your father he can’t wear that suit.” Melina complained, while being followed by Yelena and Luna, the young daughter of Pietro and Monica.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Mama, he looks nice in it.” Yelena stood up for him without question. Alexei entered the room looking at himself, of course he looked a bit scruffy but it was really good. Except for the huge beard that he refused to shave.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
The Sokovian peeked through the door, barely showing her face. “You look nice, papa.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Thank you, zaychik.” Alexei smiled happily, Melina was about to say something when Natasha interrupted her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Auntie Yelena, why is the alphabet in that order?” Luna asked curiously as the blonde finished arranging her hair.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Okay, Wanda, get out of the room. We want to see you." Yelena said quickly, trying to change the subject of the talk since she didn't even know what to say to that.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
At that moment, Wanda left the room, leaving everyone completely speechless. With a beautiful white dress, a transparent neckline but such a delicate touch. The hair was loose, she left behind the redhead to change it to a very pretty dark blonde.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“What do you think?” Wanda swallowed, noticing how her family was gaping at her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ
“Holy shit!” Alexei exclaimed, amazed and happy. His little girl looked like a princess. The Romanoff family adopted the Maximoff twins when they were very young, saving them from all the horror that the war left in Sokovia.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, dear.” Melina smiled tenderly, finally those icy hard eyes left all the coldness to show the love she felt for that girl. Feeling an enormous pride; Wanda looked beautiful.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You look like a meringue.” Luna giggled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“That’s good.” Wanda finally smiled, feeling all that support from her family.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Oh, this would be a big step. Everything in her life was going to change in two hours… In two hours, she would be Wanda Maximoff-Stark.
Wasn't that wonderful?
“I want something that says, umh… ‘I'm sorry he's dead... but not that sorry. He was an asshole his whole life, and you shouldn’t have love him more than me’.” That lady asked, her face reflected nothingness itself. “Can you do me a bunch that says that?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She worked at that flower shop all her life and requests like these never ceased to amaze her. Y/N Y/L/N took over the flower shop when her aunt Claire died, the only one who decided to take care of the kid since Y/N's mother abandoned her when she was a kid.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Umh, yeah. Yeah, of course.” Y/N went from confusion to a fake smile, writing down everything the woman needed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
It took perhaps a 3 minutes to finish making the bouquet and the note she wanted, earning a few good bucks for that work.
The brunette looked at her watch, completely forgetting the time. Panic hit her like a bolt of lightning.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Fuck!” she growled taking many floral buckets in her arms and ran to the backyard, leaving them in the car. It took her maybe five minutes to do it until she heard the garden gate open.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You’re late!” Y/N grumbled as she pushed some bouquets so others could fit.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oi! For God’s sake, how many times? I was helping Kate!” Jules fought back, walking to help her close the door of that beloved car. That Irish accent always stood out in that city. “What’s the job then?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Wedding.” Y/N sighed tiredly, and she hadn't even started that damn day. She looked at herself in the mirror and was thankful she hadn't gotten dirty, had to look good for the wedding.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Interesting… Nice couple?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Haven’t met them.” Y/N shrugged. “The mother was the one who hired me. All about them mother.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Isn’t always?” Jules picked up some flowers that had fallen and tossed them back into the car. “Kate said that ye should come see her later.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The brunette hesitated for a moment, she just nodded quickly and opened the car door ready to escape. “Sure!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You will?” Jules narrowed her eyes suspiciously.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Absolutely!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Cool, you go and I stay at home.” Jules leaned against the car door.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, no, I’ll meet you there. If I go, you go.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Shut your bake! You’re not coming!” Her friend exclaimed in outrage. “You want me to go alone, I told ye I won't!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay, sorry. It’s just… Warrior Nun is out tonight. New season!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Y/N, you need a love life. You must go, I don't want to go. I need 'Warrior Nun' more than you.” Jules raised her eyebrow, noticing how Y/N rolled her eyes lazily.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I have a “like” life. It suits me fine.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I'll tell Yelena and she'll kick your arse! She was going to introduce us to her sister or somethin’! Just arrived from Sokovia!” Jules exclaimed as Y/N started the car. The girl sighed as she watched as Y/N sped away through the streets of London.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Who needed a love life when you had a busy work life?
The path to the church seemed endless.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda watched through the window trying to escape her thoughts and the nervousness she felt. Anxiety devoured her little by little, and the damn car seemed to go slower than it seemed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“So, Alexei, how long have you guys been married?” Darcy asked the man who seemed as lost as his daughter.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Thirty years.” he mumbled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Ow.” Darcy smiled tenderly, not expecting the next.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“So damn long... I remember all the way to the church I just wanted to shout ‘Stop the car! This is a horrible mistake!’ The man was thoughtful, perhaps a little more drunk than he expected, leaving Darcy completely speechless. “But you can, you know?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Darcy looked at Wanda who seemed so lost in those words.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“So, you just sit there, say nothing as the wheels keep turning, leading you on to the longest sentence…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Stop the car!” Wanda finally exclaimed, coming out of her reverie.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Alexei and Darcy looked at her in surprise, not because they were surprised by that but because she was so brave to do it. Or not.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I forgot to pee.” She bit her lip so embarrassed, getting out of the car to enter a restaurant and run towards the bathroom door, before the incredulous gaze of the people there.
The brunette walked through the huge garden of that church, an old and gothic but very beautiful structure. She greeted a few people she passed her way, maybe mistaking her for someone else.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N searched for one person in particular, finally finding the groom.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, no! I feel good, actually, bizarrely good.” The man said with an unmistakable English accent. “Yeah, no nerves at all. None whatsoever. Thanks.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“There.” Y/N whispered to herself reaching out and gently touching the man's back to get his attention. A tall, blond man with bright blue eyes. He was wearing a rather nice and apparently quite expensive suit.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
When he turned around, she smiled kindly holding a small bouquet. “Hi… you’re Vision Stark, the groom, right?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yes, I am. Call me Vis.” He said with a charming smile.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Well, I did your flowers.” Y/N explained, hoping he would understand. “I’m the florist.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, did you? Well, they’re fabulous!” Vision exclaimed happily. “Aren’t they, Tony?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
His brother Tony, who was beside him a bit distracted, nodded quickly, turning to see her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yeah, they’re great. Although, I wound’t know a nice flower from a can of beer.” He answered sincerely, of course in a very flirty way.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“But they’re fabulous, aren’t they, Tony?” Vision insisted making Y/N laugh.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They chatted for a moment while Y/N arranged boutonnieres for the groom and his bestman very carefully.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“All panic over, we’re here now!” Darcy exclaimed walking with some haste next to Luna.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Good luck, Vis.” Bucky and Steve told him before patting his shoulder and walking away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N watched as everyone greeted and wished the groom luck, perhaps a little uncomfortable but Tony with his funny faces seemed to make her feel better.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I do work out, yes, thank you for noticing it.” Tony teased arching an eyebrow, he was flirting with her of course but also trying to make her feel less uncomfortable.. “Don’t have a six pack tho.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, no?” Y/N teased.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“No, twelve pack in fact.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N giggled and shook her head, listening as little Luna tried to ask her aunt Darcy something that even she couldn't understand.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Vis, I’ve got a question.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Not now, peanut.” Darcy tried but Vision leaned in to speak to the little girl.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What’s the question, darling?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What happens when an unstoppable force meets a immovable object?” Luna frowned, surely she heard it on some TV program that Pietro used to watch.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Everyone waited to hear Vision's response, who only managed to stammer.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I haven’t got a bastard clue, I’m afraid.” The blonde said confused. He was too busy thinking that in a while he was going to be married.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“There you are, see?” Darcy arqueó una ceja, aun sosteniendo a la pequeña. “Now we can let him get married in peace.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Darcy was about to take Luna away when Y/N crossed paths for a moment, to get her attention.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“It never happens.” Y/N began, explaining to the little girl as she leaned in to look at her. “If there’s a thing that can’t be stopped is not posible for there to be something else which can’t be moved, and viceversa. They can’t both exist.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You see, it’s a trick question...” Y/N winked at her, seeing how the girl was watching her with excited eyes full of curiosity. Finally, someone understood her. “… is the answer.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Luna smiled and looked up at Darcy. “Can she sit with me?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“For sure.” Darcy winked at her and walked past them into the church.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The little girl smiled taking the brunette's hand, she headed towards the seats.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“So... what am I doing here?” Y/N whispered to herself as they sat down. She was just supposed to be there to make sure the flower arrangements were okay, make sure everything goes well at the wedding and then take off. But that little girl was really adorable.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“When do fish sleep?” Luna asked once more.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
While she listened to all the babbling of the little girl with an adorable smile, Y/N could also hear how the groom was chatting with his brother.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“She’s coming round, is she?” Vision turned to look at the entrance, but he only saw guests crowding in like fish.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“She is coming.” Tony assured him.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Of course she is.” The blond said to himself as well, calming down and taking a deep breath. “But when? When she’s coming?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N shook her head and turned to look at Luna.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What’s your name, anyway?” She poked her tiny shoulder making the little girl laugh.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Everyone calls me Luna.” The child shrugged. “Some tell me it’s short for ‘Lunatic’, but it’s not. I think it’s short for ‘Jesus Christ’!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What? Why?” Y/N frowned.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Because that’s what my mom said when she found out she was pregnant with me.” The girl finished the joke making Y/N laugh, who had to control herself. That girl was definitely very funny and eloquent.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I’m Y/N Y/L/N.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Luna Maximoff-Rambeau.” Luna smiled broadly and shook her hand. The girl turned to see the groom with an excited look. “Isn't Vis handsome?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Umh…” Y/N avoided to say something and was grateful when everyone suddenly shut up. Melina approached and sat next to them saying: ‘she’s here’.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay, I’m gonna set up the reception.” The brunette took advantage of the moment to escape, it was her big chance.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
While the wedding march began and the bride arrived at the entrance with her father, Y/N took the opportunity to escape through the nearby door, trying not to be seen.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
And she would’ve made it and her life would have continued the same if she hadn't turned to see that woman halfway.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She looked magnificent. The white contrasted with her loose hair that danced with every step. The bride was holding a lovely bouquet of lillies that Y/N picked out especially for her.
And those eyes, her beautiful green eyes, Wanda smiled at her when their eyes met.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
'How beautiful she is, for god’s sake.' The brunette thought.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Especially when Wanda turned to look forward again, showing that beautiful and delicate side.
But when Wanda turned around again to see who was that woman, who was looking at her like that, there was no one there anymore.
In front of her, Vision was watching her with a hopeful look and she wasn't going to deny that he looked very handsome.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
That was her future now.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Alexei held out ger hand to Vision who took it gently, both turning to see the priest in front of them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“All good?” Vision asked.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Always.” The Sokovian replied, swallowing but finally giving him a smile.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You look beautiful.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
‘Dearly beloved, we’re gathered here in the sight of God… To join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony.’
“Contratulations!” they all yelled and threw endless rose petals at the newlyweds.
Wanda and Vision smiled broadly as they walked out of that church, being photographed by their friends and the photographers hired for the wedding.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Vision took the opportunity to dance with little Luna who seemed delighted to spend time with him to the rhythm of ‘You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)’ by Dead or Alive. The ceremony had been beautiful, and the party seemed to be a success.
Alexei kept moving in a very funny way, clearly under the influence of alcohol.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Alexei, please, keep your arms by your side!” Melina complained. “It's like dancing with a gibbon.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
But the bearded man didn't listen to her, he just kept dancing the way he wanted, fed up with his wife's insistence.
Natasha rolled her eyes as she crossed the dance floor after two boys tried to dance with her, one too enthusiastically for her.
Maybe if she had turned two seconds before to the left, she would have met Y/N there, but no. Doesn't fate seem fun to you?
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N walked around the place looking for something to drink, happy to finally find some punch on the table in front of her.
The beautiful blonde in her wedding dress was trying to help herself, but she quickly pushed everything aside when she saw the brunette approaching her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Who was she? She didn't recognize that woman.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hi.” Y/N smiled kindly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hi.” Wanda greeted her a bit confused, smiling politely.
The connection between the two gazes intensified again until the brunette decided to speak.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“We haven’t met. I’m Y/N.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Wanda.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I did your flowers. I’m the florist.” Y/N explained, noticing how the blonde now relaxed as she understood who she was.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You did?! Oh, my flowers are nice.” Wanda smiled broadly, grateful for the woman's work. “They’re perfect, thank you!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N was stunned by that smile but just nodded, pointing to the punch.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Anyway, I was just gonna get…” The brunette took a step forward but Wanda stepped in, clearly preventing her from doing so. “… a drink.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I wouldn’t.” The blonde continued to smile widely, this time somewhat nervous.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What? Is there something wrong?” Y/N whispered amused. “I’m here to help.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda sighed, knowing that she was the only one she could trust. “My ring.” She gasped. “I was getting some of this punch crap and…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They both approached to see the punch, and indeed the burgundy liquid did not allow them to see anything.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Your wedding ring?” Y/N giggled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“It fell off!” Wanda started stirring the punch, trying to fish it out as they both whispered. “My wedding ring is in there.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“And you tried the ladle…” Y/N took the ladle so she could try it herself. Wanda just nodded, of course she was trying for several minutes. “And you can’t empty… no, it’s too big.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Right, only one thing to do.” She pressed her lips together and then took off her jacket. “Cover me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What?” She was terrified that everyone would find out.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Cover me! Use the dress. I’m going in.” Y/N took the Sokovian woman's waist and positioned her in front of the punch.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You can’t just… Oh, yes, really, you can.” Giggling, Wanda just held still trying not to make a fuss.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
As Y/N tried to fish for the ring with her bare hand, Wanda covered her long enough until a man walked up to them, holding a glass.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“They say white's the color of virgins.” The nasty fella named John Walker, who seemed to be the biggest jerk the world had ever seen. “If I know Vision, the only thing virgin round here is the olive oil.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda smiled ironically. “The old jokes really are the best, aren't they?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I'm John. Vision works underneath me, but not in the biblical sense.” He took her hand and squeezed it, coming closer than he should have. ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
‘What an ass’ Y/N thought as she tried to get that ring out at once. Smiling as she finally took that ring and pulled it out triumphantly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You're just like he described.” Wanda muttered with some displeasure, but then tried to calm down. That was her wedding day, everything should be fine. She couldn't make a fuss about any jerk she came across.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Now, I need booze. I've just met a cracking filly thought I'd grease the passage, so to speak…” John turned to take some of the punch, Y/N bit her lower lip to hide that cheeky smile and took Wanda's hand.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Carefully and without him seeing it, she put the ring on the Sokovian's finger, then walked away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
"Hi." Y/N smiled widely, looking at John.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
"Hi." The blonde looked at her curiously.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“This is Y/N. She's a florist.” Wanda explained but tried to stifle her laughter when she saw how Y/N shook his hand, squeezing hard. Her hand so wet from the punch.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I’m John. But you can call me anything you'd like.” He tried to flirt but then he looked at his hand, completely sticky.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yeah, I'm sure I will.” Y/N winked at Wanda, who pursed her lips to keep from laughing.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The music was still playing and everyone there was dancing with genuine joy and fun. The groom and the bride always together, dancing as if they were made for each other.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hey Shuri, can you do me a favor and give me something that's soft and smooth, yeah?” Tony asked the DJ.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N took the opportunity to dance with Yelena who was surprised to see her friend there. They were fascinated to realize that the wedding Y/N talked about so much, was that of Natasha and Yelena's best friend and sister.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Tony approached them trying to gain courage and touched Yelena's shoulder, who turned around somewhat annoyed to see who the hell was touching her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yelena, I think your big sister is looking for you.” Tony undoubtedly lied so he could get what he wanted. Being alone with the florist.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay!” The grumpy blonde grumbled ready to look for Natasha.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Tony Stark looked at the flower girl who was alone and took advantage of the moment, when the happy music changed to a slower and more romantic one.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh…” Tony smirked trying to flirt. “Our turn for this dance, I think.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Smiling and shaking her head, Y/N just agreed to dance with him just one time. At least just one piece, he was nice enough to know where to go and where not to.
Y/N was never interested in men.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“We fit nice, don't we? Together.” The brunette man moved slowly, at least Y/N was grateful that he was good at it and didn't step on her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yeah, of course.” She rolled her eyes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You okay?” He moved forward, closing the distance between them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yep.” She patted his shoulder pulling away a bit. “Bit tight there, Tony.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I like dancing with you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The dance was suddenly interrupted by the voice of Alexei, who took the microphone with one hand and held a glass of vodka with the other.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hello, everybodyyy.” Said the big russian man, his shirt was loose and his tie too. “Is this- Is this thing... Is this thing on?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Tony, there you are.” Melina reached over to take Tony’s arm, pushing him away. “Get this drunk bear off the microphone and make a proper speech.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
It was time for the speeches to the bride and groom and Y/N watched them from a distance. First Natasha, then Pietro, now it was Tony's turn to give his.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“(…) Anyway, these guys are in love... and I think that that's boring.” Tony joked while holding the microphone, making everyone laugh. “They've been in love for years… Years that have seen endless amounts of alcohol consumed...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“And meaningless sex thoroughly enjoyed by… me! They just stayed at home, as they do.” He rolled her eyes, noticing how Wanda just tried not to cry excitedly and Vision just pressed his lips together. “They've been like a married couple for so many years... it's a relief that they're finally married. I would like to raise a glass to Wanda and Vision!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N applauded like everyone else, smiling to see the joy on the faces of the newlyweds. Though Vision seemed a bit worried, maybe because of his speech. She attended many weddings due to work, wedding speeches were always difficult.
And apparently Vision was no exception.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Umh…” The blonde man got up and tried to expose everything he felt in front of all those people, but nothing came to his head or to his mouth.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda's green eyes shone, showing how terrified she was when she noticed that her now husband was trying to stammer a few words and nothing came out.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I know something that helps, Vis. Imagine everybody naked.” Melina advised him and apparently that terrified him even more.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Wanda quickly got up to take her husband's arm and caress it, showing that she supported him. Or perhaps praying that he would finally say something and she would be relieved.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hi, everyone. I'm Vision...and welcome to my wedding.” She started saying trying to fake a manly voice, making everyone laugh again. Vision smiled when he felt the support of that woman, Wanda was definitely an incredible person. She wasn't going to let him fall.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
That's what Y/N thought, what a great woman Wanda was. She didn't let herself fall even though her husband didn't know what to say in their wedding speech.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“So, I'm glad you're all here looking at me because... 'cause I want to tell you how much I love Wanda.” The Sokovian continued to imitate him, making the moment more enjoyable and fun. “What an amazing, wonderful, uniquely fantastic person she is.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The florist smiled and decided to go outside to get some air. The love stories that she saw daily surprised her too much, some were so beautiful and others were so painful.
But strangely, she had never allowed herself to experience one like this.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay, this is me, Wanda right now. I've been looking forward to this day all my life. And I'm glad to share it with so many people I love... and a few people I've never met before. I feel like I've known Vis all my life. And I know I'll know him for the rest of it. He's my best friend.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“They say fairytales have happy endings, even though the passage can be rough. But Vis and I were mates and then lovers. And it's been smooth all the way. Maybe that's a better kind of fairytale. So…But if you could all just wish us luck, Vis and I would appreciate it very much.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
While Wanda continued with her speech and everyone toasted the couple wishing them their best, the brunette walked down that path lit by torches to finally drive home.
She turned on the lights in the house, noticing how her friend and cousin was completely asleep on the sofa, curled up among many blankets.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hey, luv.” Y/N whispered when she saw that the girl didn't wake up. She just tucked Jules and then walked to her own room. She took a relaxing hot shower and end up lying on the soft bed that waited for her all day.
Y/N’s gaze was fixed on the ceiling, there was something inside her that wouldn't let her find peace, she couldn't understand what.
What was wrong with her?
Maybe the constant loneliness that enveloped her at night. She just sighed and turned off the light, ready to sleep.
The autumn sun finally came out, taking the people of London by surprise as they expected a huge storm.
Y/N grunted and picked up a huge bucket of flowers to carry out of the flower shop, some people enjoying passing by on the street and just being happy to see the colorful flowers greet them. Or that was what her Auntie Claire used to say.
Without her even being able to do anything, a man rushed into the shop with unmatched speed.
“Hello?” She followed him, expecting to know what he was looking for.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hi.” The man muttered looking at various bouquets of flowers. “You gotta help me. I need a flower. Just one. A good one. The best.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay.” Y/N nodded as she took other buckets outside.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“This is my last chance.” He explained taking a flower and sniffing it and then putting it down again. “My last-chance flower.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Your last chance?” Y/N asked, agitated by exhaustion. “I don’t what you’re lookin’ for. What kind of message you want to give?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I really fucked it up. Only the right flower can save me. What about a rose? A red rose, what would that say?” Peter Quill pointed to the bouquet of red roses.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Love.” Y/N nodded.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Love's nice, that works.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“And fidelity.” She wrinkled her nose, clearly not the right message.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Not a red rose, then.” He shook his head and turned to see the other flowers.
“Nope… Not a rose at all. It's too obvious. Umh… If this really is your last chance, we need to find you something spectacular.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N went away to find some flowers and put together a special bouquet. The knocking on the door indicated that there was a new customer. “Be right with you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“That’s fine. I’ll wait. ” Wanda said and in a second, maybe faster than that, Y/N turned to see her. The biggest smile formed on the brunette's lips, perhaps the most sincere smile she had in weeks.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hey!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Hi.” Wanda smiled.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“How are you?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Good.” The blonde nodded quickly. “Great. I just...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She was going to say something but Peter left the flower shop abruptly. Wanda opened her eyes in amusement, not understanding what was happening, and Y/N just shook her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Came by to say thanks.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N kept her hands in the jacket pockets. “It was a total pleasure.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The connection between their eyes regained strengthuntil Peter started banging on the window, trying to get the florist's attention. “What about this one?!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Listen, sorry, I'm just dealing with...” She pointed to Peter who was looking at her so confused through the window.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, God, of course. Go right ahead.” The blonde stepped aside but now Peter pointed at Wanda, quite uncomfortable.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“You, blondie, what's your favorite flower?” He frowned.
“I don't know. I think I love lillies.. and daisies.” Wanda smiled kindly, not understanding too much.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“No… Not those.” The man shook his head and went back into the flower shop.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“How about this? Bird of paradise.” Y/N took that flower. A delicate, long flower with hints of orange.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Keep talking.” Quill sighed almost defeated.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Real name's Strelitzia, named after Charlotte of Strelitz.” She explained to Peter, he seemed more confused than ever. But Wanda seemed lost in the story that Y/N was telling with so much passion. “She married King George III, had 15 kids. They never spent more than an hour apart.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Okay, stop talking.” Peter raised his hand stopping her suddenly and then left that place without saying anything else.
Y/N and Wanda looked at each other in surprise, a big what the fuck.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Anyway…” The Sokovian licked her lips, watching as the brunette returned to arrange some flowers. “Do you want to come to dinner?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Sorry?” Y/N frowned so confused. What was that?
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Dinner with us, Vis and me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N was speechless for a moment, didn't know what to say.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I mean, you don't...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I'd love to.” Y/N finally said quickly, she couldn't deny that woman or her beautiful green eyes anything.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Really? This Friday?” Wanda's eyes lit up.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Yeah, Friday. Why not?” She smiled and inside she cursed herself.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Great, I'll just write down the address...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
What the hell was she doing? That's what she repeated to herself over and over as Wanda wrote her home address on her notes.
The brunette just watched that beautiful woman talk to her in such an adorable way, she was so nice.
And Y/N would definitely regret it.
“Okay, baby, now you got to glare, give out the red eyes.” He said with that English accent while they entered that huge auction. There were really valuable and important things for a much lower price.
“I'd do it, it's just that you're a lot more frightening.”
“No, I'm not.” Wanda whispered while they looked at some objects. “Who am I glaring at?”
“Anyone who wants that sofa.”
“They can't have it, it's mine.” The Sokovian raised an eyebrow as Vision tried an old 60’s hat but then left it in its place.
“Ours.” The man clarified. “If it’s under the limit… £200.”
“I don’t see how we need a limit.” Wanda pouted, playing with the auction sign.
“I like limits, otherwise, you’ll go mad, darling.” Vision whispered in her ear.
“Damn right I will.” Wanda giggled. “That sofa is mine.”
They kept looking at some stuff until Wanda decided to express what she had in mind for a long time, she just didn't know how to do it.
“I invited someone to dinner, this friday.” She bit her upper lip. “That florist, Y/N?”
“Great, darling. I’ll cook.”
“Please, don’t.” Wanda laughed nervously. “Your paprikash is not… ideal.”
“How dare you?!” The blond joked, but they were silenced thanks to the fact that the precious sofa they wanted was about to be auctioned.
“…the very attractive leather sofa, there. Brion leather Chesterfield, bass stud decoration… in slightyly distressed cndition at £90.”
Vision and Wanda sat on the couch so they could try it out. The blonde turned to see her husband, who seemed to be busy feeling the leather.
“I asked her because… this is my plan.” She whispered very excited.
“Oh no.”
“I thought we’d get Tony too.”
A double date? Great, sure. Like those things don't go wrong.
“Great idea, darling. Excellent, but what would be better is if we didn’t do that!”
“Why? I think they’d be perfect for each other.” Wanda frowned, seeing her husband who was busy listening to the auction. “Don’t you think they’d be perfect?”
“£90? £ 100?”
“Red eyes, darling. Still trying to buy this beauty…” Vision stammered, looking around. “What are you taking about by the way?”
“Tony and Y/N. I think they’d be perfect.”
“He said that he flirted with her before she left.”
“There you go. We will invite both.” Wanda smiled triumphantly and nodded. She already won.
‘£150 at the back?’
Vision settled so excited, ready to raise his sign at any moment. He was so close…
“It's funny. I went round to say thank you for what she did at our wedding.” She pursed her lips and looked down to see those rings. Specifically THAT ring. “You know when you've just met someone but straight away...”
“Aha.” He paid no attention to her, of course. But she went on.
“… and you feel as if they're going to be your friend?”
“Yes, darling.” He watched as one of the buyers lifted the sign, exclaiming that he would pay £190.
“Who knows why? Past life, physiognomy.” The Sokovian sighed deeply trying to understand what her true interest was. That girl was so kind to her. “But for some reason, you just kind of click.”
“Almost there, darling. That sofa is ours…” he whispered, But when he was going to raise his sign, another man offered £210, exceeding the limit. The english man frowned at him annoyed while Wanda continued to babble. “Bollocks!”
“I don't know what I'm saying, but do you know what I mean?” Wanda smiled lost in her reverie. Of course she wasn't listening to him either, she was just trying to finally get the thoughts out of her. She turned to look at Vision and frowned. “What?”
“Darling, we lost it. The sofa.”
“What?” Wanda's eyes widened.
The blonde shrugged. “They offered more. Over our limit.”
Without hesitating for a second, Wanda took the sign up yelling: “£400!”
Everyone turned to see that desperate sokovian to win, while Vision smiled embarrased trying to hide behind her.
The brunette opened the last lock and finally entered home, feeling the delicious smell of scented candles.
In her hands she carried a beautiful bouquet of flowers, different from each other. In her other hand a bag of groceries.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N walked to the living room where she found her best friend in pajamas lying on the couch, trying to read a book.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What are you doing?” Y/N left the keys on the table.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I live here. What are you doing?” Jules raised an eyebrow, curious.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“I came to see you, to tidy and cook something for you to eat. Also I live here too.” Y/N left the flowers in water and removed the old ones, throwing them away. “You should be dressed, Jules.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Well, I was. I'm just settling in for the evening, jesus christ.” Jules wrinkled her nose, trying to get back to her book.
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“It's 5:00. You said you were going out later with Yelena and Kate.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“No, I didn’t say that. Ye said that I should do it and I told you that I didn't feel like it. By the way, have you finished work already?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N didn't say anything, just smiled and carried the grocery bag into the kitchen. “I’m busy tonight.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“What? A date?” Jules grinned and got up from the couch to follow her. “Does my cousin have a date?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N rolled her eyes and started unpacking things, putting the juice and milk in the fridge. “No. But you could have.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Jules sighed and just shrugged. “Bars, clubs, Tinder… so full of stupid brits! Tragic attempts by lonely lads to meet someone before they give up and die.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Maybe one day you will find it. You have no idea what crazy love stories I've seen in that bloody flower shop.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“Oh, yep. Everybody looking for love! Well, they won't find it, and they certainly won't get sex with me.” Jules grumbled and picked up an apple to take a big bite. “Ye know, those people are sad.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
Y/N smiled and placed a kiss on her best friend's forehead. “Jules, you are sad.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
“No-oh. I’m not sad.” She gently poked Y/N’s belly. “I'm depressed. There's a difference.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
She just stared at Jules for a moment, thinking about the ways she could or wanted to help her, but sometimes just didn't know how. “I would like to... I- I wish you could help-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
The Irish one smiled tenderly, realizing that Y/N always cared for her and would always be by her side. Even in these moments where she fell deep. “Yeah, luv, I know you do. One day maybe I’ll feel better.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤ
They chatted for a while, Y/N made something so her cousin could eat and continue with her book.
Night finally came and Wanda was feeling so nervous. She looked at herself once more in the mirror and then wrinkled her nose, she definitely needed some color on those gorgeous lips.
“Sorry I’m late, darling.” Vision entered the room and placed a kiss on her cheek, definitely quite rushed and tired. “You look spectacular.”
"How was work?" The Sokovian asked as she put some lipstick, a rather peculiar scarlet red.
“Shite.” Vision grunted removing his tie. “Quitting soon.”
“Oh, you always say that, love.”
“Just watch me. One day… I’ll do it.” He sighed. “Tell them I don't like them or their cash. Although I do like their cash.”
Wanda smiled and shook her head, for a long time she had been advising him to look for something else, something that would make him happy but Vision never gave up. “I'll be waiting with champagne.”
“How much do I wish it was just us tonight.” The blond left the room to change his clothes, of course he didn't want guests, but he couldn't do anything about it.
“Tony definitely be into her, right?” She frowned a bit worried now. She wanted everything to go perfectly, she didn't want Y/N to be disappointed.
“Well… She’s pretty, right?”
“Yes, of course. Do you think she is?” Wanda bit her lower lip.
“Well, she’s not really my type, darling, but… Yeah, I suppose?” Vision took off his shirt and buttoned up a different one, a burgundy shade one. “So, what do you think?”
“Of her?” Wanda thought about it for a moment, of course she was pretty. Y/N was beautiful, she had very pretty eyes and a lovely smile. If Tony didn't want her, he was surely blind or stupid because she, Y/N, was wonderful. “I haven't really... I mean she’s…”
“No, darling.” Vision smirked. “The shirt.”
“Oh!” She laughed nervously. “No, it’s gorgeous. You’re gorgeous.”
“Oh, yeah? You want to…?” The Englishman looked at her mischievously, but before she could say anything, the doorbell rang, interrupting the whole moment. “Saved by the bell.”
Vision finished buttoning his shirt and walked towards the front door, finally finding that brunette waiting a bit nervously.
“Hey! Come in. You look fab.” Vision exclaimed, stepping aside so she could come in.
“Thank you.” Y/N entered the house with a huge bouquet of flowers. She was wearing a black shirt and a leather jacket, one of her favorites. “Guess what I brought?”
“Oh, bless you. Wanda will flip.” The blond man took the flowers.
Almost as if she was summoned, Wanda arrived with a huge smile on her lips when she saw the guest and the flowers.
“Hi.” Wanda didn’t understanding this sudden joy that she felt inside.
“Hey.” Y/N whispered; they both got lost again in that connection that completely left the blond next to them aside.
“So…” Wanda took her husband's hand and walked with both of them towards the living room. “Come check out our new sofa.”
“Our expensive new sofa.” Vision added opening his eyes wide.
“You can't put a price on comfort.” Y/N said looking at the home, it was nice, not cozy as she would want it, but… really nice.
“You see, a woman after my own heart!” Wanda pointed at her without knowing that this could perhaps end up being true.
“Y/N, do you believe in reincarnation?” Vision smiled watching Y/N, who was taking off the leather jacket. That emotion in his wife for having a new friend seemed really adorable and fascinating. Vision had never seen her like this. “It's just that Wanda thought you guys had met before.”
Wanda felt her face blush and shook her head, so embarrassed. “That's not quite what I...”
“I'd have remembered, I think.” The brunette rushed to say, her heart pounding and fighting not to show.
Wanda didn't say anything, she just took the flowers her husband was holding and decided to put them in water.
Y/N and Vision were having a nice chat on the couch about his book. Or his wishes to ever be able to write.
“Well, so, basically, the book I've wanted to write is... a guide to wherever is the coolest place on the planet at the time.” Vision explained as he poured some wine for the three of them. “If it's February, it's the Rio Carnival. And if it's, I don't know, May, it's bulls in Pamplona. So, if you…want a holiday/party, then, you know, you open the book and there's me telling you where to go.”
Y/N accepted the glass of wine he handed. “'Cause you've been there.”
“Yeah… it was the plan, but, you know…” Vision sighed and looked thoughtful. “Wanda, life, work.”
The florist nodded, feeling sorry for him. You could tell that he tried to put his dreams aside in order to continue with the life he had. “Someday.”
“Anyway… how about you? Married?” Vision drank some wine and watched her out of the corner of his eye, hoping that Wanda's plan would work. “Ever been married, ever gonna be married?”
“Nope. No.” Y/N wrinkled her nose, of course not. Never. “Maybe now the laws have changed.”
“How do you mean?” Vision put the glass down on the table, he liked her. It sure would be a good match for Tony.
“Well, I’m gay.” Y/N confessed with a kind smile, noticing how the blonde chuckled amusedly, as if it was a big joke. Of course, noticing that Y/N was serious, he stammered:
“Uh… oh, lovely.” Vision nodded nervously, especially when the doorbell rang.
“That’ll be Tony!” Wanda left the kitchen hurrying to open it, but not before giving them both an adorable smile.
“Tony’s coming…” Y/N nodded, smiling somewhat awkwardly. Hell yeah, this was some horrible double date. How didn't you think of it before?
Though dinner had been more fun than she'd expected. Vision was definitely not very good at cooking so the food ended up being really gross.
Still, Y/N had a good time getting to know them all.
“Vis?” Tony started, trying to eat but it was too much. Even for him. “This Paprikash is absolutely revolting.”
Vision looked up. “You think so?”
“It is, sweetheart. It's atrocious.” Wanda wrinkled her nose.
Y/N just nodded trying to swallow that bite but it was so harsh.
“Anyway, more importantly, listen. It's been three weeks now.” Tony smiled so smug. “Let's have it. How much better is sex after marriage?”
“Oh, please.” Wanda took the glass of wine and smiled.
“Because, when I've had sex with people after they were married, they have said that it's fantastic.” Tony admitted without further ado.
Y/N just listened to that talk, drinking the last sip of wine.
“Get wed and find out yourself.”
“Come on, darling, Tony couldn't make that commitment.” Vision took the bottle of wine and poured some for Y/N who just nodded. “We're talking about two or three years of his life.”
“Well, not a one-person person.” Tony raised a brow.
“You really don't think your other half's out there? Or, you know, in here?” The Sokovian leaned to see him, perhaps trying to throw a hint that neither of them would end up catching, making it more uncomfortable.
“Actually, darling…” Vision tried.
“What, there's some gorgeous women around.” The blondie only shrugged, trying to look innocent not noticing that Y/N bit her bottom lip and looked down.
“Yes, there are, and I'm trying to sleep with as many as I can.” Tony smiled somewhat flirtatiously.
Vision smiled thinking about the terrible blow that his friend was going to give himself, and far from stopping him, Vis let him continue. “And you never fail, do you, Tony?”
“You know, they teach the birds and the bees about me.” The man from New York winked at Y/N, who just giggled. He was not going to stop.
“It'll all change when you meet Miss Right.” Wanda sighed. No one seemed to support her on this.
“And how am I supposed to know when I do that?” Tony raised an eyebrow and Wanda just mumbled as she played with her wine glass.
“You don't know, not straight away. It just feels... warm and comfortable.” The Sokovian licked her lips thoughtfully and looked at Vision. “And you hang in there and give it a chance, before you know it, you're like... Yeah, this is it. Must be love.”
She finished that little speech leaving everyone surprised, but definitely smiling.
“Yeah, I'm with her.” Vision nodded.
“I'm with her, too. Give me that.” Tony said and getting up to help pick up the dishes. But as Wanda was about to get up to do so, Y/N put down the wine glass and intervened, getting Wanda's attention.
“I don't agree.” Y/N shook her head “I think you know immediately. You know, as soon as your eyes connect...” She searched for the right words. “…then everything that happens from then on, just proves that you had been right in that first moment.”
The brunette fixed her gaze on those beautiful and surprised green eyes, Wanda was speechless. “When you suddenly realized you had been incomplete and now you are whole.”
And definitely, that was the truest definition of what love really was, or the way Y/N saw it. But the way she said it made a shiver run through Wanda's skin, her heart racing.
“Actually, I'm with her, I'd say.” Vision nodded and his friend agreed without hesitation. “Excellent, so, who’s for pudding?”
“Me.” Y/N smiled, happy to end this talk, but Wanda stopped her, frowning.
“No.” Wanda shook her head.
“No?” Y/N looked at her the same way. This was the great war.
“If you think that, you think that everyone that doesn't have all that... they settle for less.” The Sokovian annoyed by that way of thinking, so absolute. How could that work? That was not the way to see love, the right one. It did not work with connections and an instant click. Those are fairy tales.
It was build.
Or maybe, why not, both.
“That's not what I'm saying.” Y/N shrugged, actually more amused to see her so upset.
“That kind of is what you're saying.” Wanda snapped, narrowing her eyes. She wasn't going to let it go that easily.
“I think she said it a bit nicer.” Tony watched them with amusement, finding the dispute quite entertaining.
“Pudding anyone? Vision asked coming back from the kitchen, trying to make the moment less tense.
“You look tired, chief. You have a good day at work?” Tony asked as Vision discarded the remains of his hideous paprikash into the trash.
“Shite. I'm quitting soon.” The englishman sighed deeply and put the plate in the dish washer.
“Did you check out flower girl back there? Made that speech for me.” Tony drank some of his wine, his chest puffing out with pride. “Later on tonight, we're gonna fall madly in bed.”
Vision tried not to laugh and simply narrowed his eyes as he washed the remaining dishes. “Oh, it's going well for you guys?”
“It's going very well.” The american was so confident, he knew that without hesitation, that girl was crazy about him. Or at least that's what his head told him.
After turning off the tap, the blonde one turned to see his friend and smiled expectantly to see Tony’s face. “She’s a lesbian, mate.”
Laughing so bad, Vision took the trash can to take it out leaving Tony surprised, but more than anything, curious.
“Is that right?” He didn't seem discouraged. “Cool.”
“You don't think that slightly impedes your plans for seduction?” Vision went back into the house, locking the door.
“Anyone can change teams.” Tony shrugged but then realized what he had said. “Not anyone. I wouldn't... 'Cause, you know... But anyone, I mean...”
And while they chatted pleasantly, Wanda went out to the terrace to look for the brunette whom she hadn't seen for a few minutes. The rain began to fall, a torrential rain but cold and beautiful.
The Sokovian found herself with the most beautiful and perhaps strangest image she has ever seen.
Y/N was sitting on the balcony railing, watching that amazing city.
The most lovely or funny thing was that she was holding an umbrella.
A smile was born on Wanda's lips. What a pretty picture, so pretty that she wished she had her phone at that moment. “What are you doing?”
Y/N turned when she heard Wanda’s voice, smiling too. “It’s gorgeous!”
“It’s raining!” Wanda exclaimed from inside, crossing her arms to fight the cold.
Y/N sighed and looked the city once more before walking to Wanda, closing the glass door behind them.
“You have a beautiful view here, Wanda.”
“Thank you, I love it.” She watched the raindrops hit the window, sighing. “Vis won't come up here.”
“Why?” Y/N studied her face carefully. The shape of her nose, that birthmark on her cheek, those lips and her chin. Wow, it was impossible not to be completely stupid with that woman next to her.
“They say it's subconscious fear you'll throw yourself off... but he freaks when I go near the edge, too.” Wanda remained thoughtful, feeling guilty. “Sorry about dinner.”
“I've eaten worse.” Y/N nudged her making her laugh.
“Kind of went off.” The Sokovian looked down. She had never behaved like that.
“You didn't go off.” Y/N shook her head, playing with her a bit. “Maybe… You went a bit off.”
They both turned to see each other and again, their eyes met. As if it were a magnetism impossible to resist, those green colliding with hers. The height difference, the beating of their hearts, searching for each other but neither of them knew it.
Wanda mumbled some nonsense and only took a step back, allowing Y/N to notice that her jacket was slightly wet when she opened the window.
“You’re wet!”
“I'm fine.”
Y/N ignored her, she just brought her hand to Wabda’s cheek and felt the cold. “You’re cold, Wands.”
“I like that… Wands…” She sighed, then snapped back out of the reverie. “I’m fine!”
“No, you’re cold and you’re wet! ” Y/N took off her own leather jacket and put it on her shoulders, though Wanda tried to resist Y/N ignored her. “You can have it. Really, you can have it.”
“And now YOU are cold!” Wanda giggled at that battle but ended up giving in, not realizing how close they were to each other.
“Hey, what are you guys up to?” Vision make the two to quickly separate.
“Nothing!” Wanda said quickly.
“Well, Tony wants to play strip poker or strip-Tony... and I really want him to go home.”
About five minutes later, Y/N said goodbye to them and agreed to let Tony drive her home.
“Next left.” Y/N told him.
“It's one option, yes.” The man slowed down to turn onto the other street. “How about instead, we just go straight back to my place?”
“Tony, take the next left.” Y/N rolled her eyes, this time she was more direct and less kind. Her gaze was lost on the road, thoughtful.
“You alright, Y/N?” Tony asked sincerely concerned.
“Why? 'cause I don't want to fuck you?” Y/N raised an eyebrow but far from taking it badly, Tony smiled. Perhaps he was not understanding that NO is no.
“You're welcome not to fuck me, just don't sit in my car all bored like that.”
Y/N cocked her head to look at him, the man had no intention other than to accompany her. Maybe he’s an arsehole sometimes and of course, really gross. But he wasn't a bad guy. Maybe, he seemed like a nice guy with a good heart and a huge barrier and 'fuck boy' attitude.
“I’m sorry.” She said sincerely, running a hand over her forehead. Tony wasn't a bad guy, just a little annoying but his natural charm didn't work on her for obvious reasons. “Really.”
“You've got something on your mind, that's obvious.” Tony nodded without taking his eyes off the front. "You know what you should do? You should share with me.”
“Should I?” She arched an eyebrow.
“Yes, because beneath this rugged exterior... there beats a sensitive soul.”
Y/N chuckled and shook her head. “No, there doesn't.”
“No, there doesn't, but tell me anyway.”
Y/N was a bit thoughtful.
Without even she could believe it, about fifteen minutes later they were in a cafe, sharing a delicious black coffee.
“Bet it's a girl thing, no, right?” The raindrops were constantly pattering against the window. “I mean, it's got to be. It's a hot and horny scene…”
“Oh no.” Y/N closed her eyes.
“It's you and another vagitarian.” He nodded as she just smiled at how ridiculous he was. “Come on. Tell Uncle Tony all about it. Spare me no detail.”
“Have you ever met someone and just...” Y/N stopped, swallowing. She didn't even know how to say it, she didn't know how to describe it. “But there was someone else already?”
“Yeah, sure.” Tony shrugged. “Hot ones are always taken.”
“So, what do you do?”
“What do I do?” Tony pretended to think about it and then rolled his eyes. “I shag them. That’s it. Partner is their problem, it's not mine.”
Y/N smiled at how simple that sounded, it was simply not a problem for him to break up a couple.
For her it seemed to be much more difficult. For days now, she hasn't stopped thinking about Wanda, a woman who was married and had a very kind husband. A woman she met on her wedding day. Everything was so ridiculous.
“Yeah, I think you don't mess with other couples.” The brunette lowered her gaze. If only it were that easy for her. “Don't cause that pain, ever.”
“You just face facts that it can't happen... walk away.” She told him a bit seriously, of course she wasn't telling him, she was telling herself. “Hook up with someone available instead.”
“Well, your place or mine? Come on, let's... I'm so good in bed.” Tony joked one more time. Y/N shook her head and laughed again, this guy couldn't get enough.
“Sorry, lad, I'm thinking of someone else.”
