She Wasn't The Villain...
Summary
You're dating Lena Luthor, and everyone thinks that she's the villain and that you're hero...reality is...between the two of you, you're the real villain.

To the public’s eyes….everyone thought Lena was the villain, after all…to them, being a Luthor meant you had to be evil… You however, you were seen like a gentle soul who wouldn’t hurt a fly, you were a national hero having served in the Navy SEALs for years and having made a name for yourself after you saved the new president of the United States during their inauguration address. Someone had managed to take out most of the security measures and was holding the attendee’s hostage. You had been there as you had been dating the vice president’s son. The moment that the intruder felt like he had won, that he had everything under control, and that he was going to get what he wanted… you launched a surprise attack and apprehended him swiftly. The people that had were being held hostage were quickly evacuated and you held him down till back up finally arrived and were able to help you.

After that day, you had been hailed as a national hero for having saved the president and their family among countless others, so when you appeared in tv years later and they saw you at charities and doing philanthropy work….it was a complete match to what they had thought about you. In reality, you were only doing it because Lena didn’t have any time to be able to do it so she often asked you, her fiancé, to do it in her place. You didn’t mind at all as you saw how happy Lena was when she saw how many people were being helped with those organizations but it wasn’t what you loved doing. If you were being honest, you didn’t care for humanitarian efforts, you determined the worth of a person by the benefit they provided for you...after all, if they weren't of any use to you? Why would you involve yourself with them.

Nobody suspected that as all they saw was that you were always smiling and you were always positive, to them you seemed like the kind of person that would give up your life if it meant you could save another person. In reality, you would sacrifice another if it meant you got what you wanted…Of course, things did change after you started to date Lena…. she was so different from others...there was so much hurt in her heart and she was just looking for someone that wouldn't betray her. You knew that wasn't you....that your real self was probably someone that would disgust her.... but she made you want to be good…she made you wish that you were good enough to deserve her. You took steps to become someone good, someone that at the very least, wasn't doing bad in the world like you had before...it wasn't until two started to date that things truly started to change and you were playing a more active role of doing good, even if it was only on Lena's behalf.

Reality was...no matter how much you tried to change.…old habits were very hard to kill…

At that moment you were seating back a bit as Morgan Edge was writing a confession letter. His legs were completely broken from a small ‘accident’ and you were watching him making sure he continued to write. “Come on Morgan…hurry it up, it’s game night with my girlfriend’s friends, should I give you some more motivation?” you ask with a smirk as Morgan glances up at you. When you had approached him, he hadn’t thought too much about it, sure you had been a Navy SEAL, but everyone knew that you were clearly a pacifist that only wished to do good in the world….of course that thought was scrapped the moment you broke his legs with his paperweight.

“your girlfriend… doesn’t have what it takes to do any of this or order anyone to do it…so why are you doing it? I mean she didn’t have the guts to pull the trigger when she had the chance to” he says as you just smirk a bit at that.

“why? because people like you only get a slap in the wrist….”

“Ahhh so you want justice for those that can’t get it? What kind of idealistic nonsense is that? No wonder you’re dating Lena, you both have such childish hopes” He said scowling a bit as he continues writing.

“Justice? No, not exactly…. Lena doesn’t like hurting others….she hates it…Lena is very dangerous when it comes to protecting others….but when it comes to her own well-being…” you take a deep breath trying to calm yourself before you shake your head a small smile forming on your lips as you thought about your fiancé, she was so good and kind…she just wanted to fix the wrongs her family had done. You hated that she was so used to having to deal with shitty people that she was willing to bear it all.

“So you’re doing this just because she doesn’t have the big boy pants to take care of things herself? This is why women don’t belong in the business world….they don’t have what it takes to see things through” Of course that comment made your blood boil but you kept a calm face.

“Lena is twice the business person you’ll ever be…that’s why your only option was to sully her name” Your tone is calm even though you want to scream it at his face, you want to grab his smug face and beat it repeatedly until he takes back a comment like that. But truth was…there would always be misogynists like him, and you couldn’t exactly kill everyone of them, it wasn’t the way to fix things.

“that’s just dirty business 101, everyone gets their hands dirty, even your precious fiancé”

“Not Lena” you grab your bat and hit him on his back as he lets out a loud cry of pain as he falls forward hitting his head on the ground. Honestly, him getting a quick hit on his back was very tame compared to what you wanted to do to his face.

“…Lena works hard to help others…Lena works hard to do things in a clean manner….and you bastard…you couldn’t stand it….you had to drag her name through the mud” you hiss as your anger was getting out of control as you remember how Lena had taken it…how she thought she had poisoned innocent children…how she had cried on your shoulder as she seconded guessed the goodness in her heart. You a hit at their head but pull up right at the last second as you hit the wall, the bat is shattered on impact, which causes Morgan to scramble back a bit knowing that if that had hit his head, he would be dead.

“Lena already has a recorder with a confession, what more do you want?!”

“…finish the damn letter”

He glances at the paper and sees he’ll have to start again as there’s blood on the paper from when you his head earlier. He grabs another piece and starts again having to glance at you from time to time.

When he’s finished with the letter and you’re satisfied with it, you fold the letter and place it away. You force him to clean himself up with a bucket of water and a sponge, before you throw him a clean suit and get him to change. You make him film a video confessing to everything he did, and right after you were content with the video you place away your phone.

“You got what you wanted, now take me to a hospital”

“A hospital?”

“yes a hospital, you broke my damn legs you psycho”

“…I never said you were going to a hospital” you walk over grabbing him by his hair pulling his head back a bit a sneer on your face. The man in front of you disgusted you, even if he hadn’t targeted Lena…the world was going to be much better without him.

“w-what?”
“…you idiot, did you think I would let you live after what you did to Lena? She was horrified at the thought of hurting those children! She nearly killed you herself! I’m glad you were such a coward that you kept her from doing it because that would have hunted her for the rest of her life…but you nearly killed her!” you grab him by the neck and slam him against the wall starting to choke him. “there’s only one way that you leave this place alive, and that’s if I’m dead”

He tries to push you off and struggles a bit but he grabs the pen he had been writing with and stabs your side with it. You hiss a bit in pain but smirk as you throw him to the side. “that’s the spirit” You breath out as you pull out the pen from your side. As a little gift, you were going to kill him with the pen he had used to try to defend himself, you knew it was going to be painful…but he deserved it for everything he had done.

After a while, you make yourself out of the abandoned building after you made sure he was dead. You took out your phone and called a cleaning company that didn’t ask questions to handle the mess and dispose of the body. Soon after, you go to your house and change burning your bloodied clothes in the fireplace making sure they were completely gone before you head to the hospital. When you get to the hospital they start to treat you and after a bit Lena gets there hurrying over when she spots you and hugs you.

“what happened?!” she asked taking your face in her hands looking you over for injuries.

“I got into a bit of a fight”

“Again?!”

“yeah, bloody bastard had a long pointy object and jabbed it into my side, can you believe him?”

“why didn’t you call for help?”

“It would be embarrassing for a Navy Seal to have to call for back up to handle a civilian” you said with a laugh.

“where are they? did the cops capture them?”

“No idea love, I just wanted to get this checked out, I knew it would worry you if I didn’t come here right away” You grin at her as she relaxes a bit.

She hugs you tightly at that. “…as long as you’re okay” She adds before going silent as she looks over at the news as she noticed you were watching, they were presenting Morgan’s video and letter that you had sent to them anonymously. You sent it to a CatCo competitor as they asked a lot less question than CatCo. They were also experts at making things go viral an that’s what you wanted…you wanted everyone to know that what had been said about Lena was a complete lie.
“that’s odd…why would he confess” Lena said surprised knowing that Morgan had tried to get the recorder where he confessed back. You grab her hand pressing it to your lips which makes her turn her attention back to you.

“Love, you promised to not think of him for at least a month, you’re breaking your promise” you place her hand on your cheek and her gaze softens a smile spreading on her lips.

Lena lets out a bit of a laugh and nods. “I did promise you that, sorry darling” she leans in and places a small kiss on your lips.

She was aware that you weren’t as innocent as you appeared, that your manner of dealing with things was to…eliminate them, but she also knew that you had been making great effort to change your ways because of her…that you tried your best to be good just for her…and that’s what was what mattered. She was sure that as long as you were beside her, you would always try to do the right thing.

While she wasn’t wrong….she still didn’t know just how far you were willing to go for her. The public thought that Lena was the villain … that she would sacrifice the whole world for money and power just like her family…but that wasn't true….she would sacrifice herself in order to save you and the world…you on the other hand…you would sacrifice the world for her. There was no point of living if she wasn’t by your side after all.
