Night
Entering your home, you see your dad, which surprises you. Zir’s is never home this early. (You only call zir dad because xe acts like one. Xe doesn't seem to mind though.) You walk in, saying hi.
“Hello. I got sent home early if that’s what you are wondering. For reasons I won’t specify.”
Oh. Well, you guessed that made sense. You sit at your usual spot at the table. Looks like xe alreadly made dinner. Even though you enjoy your mom’s cooking, it wasn’t always the best. You remember when you were younger, watching your dad teach your mom hove to cook. You also remember when she also burnt the house down. They were banned from cooking for a month.
Turning your attention back to your dad, you ask how zir day went.
“My day went well, yours?”
You tell zir it went ok. You also tell zir that you met a new friend.
“ Oh really? What’s their name?”
You tell zir the friend you met goes by Robin and uses he/they pronouns. Thinking ahead, you tell xe that your friend is an avian.
“Oh! You met an avian? They usually try to avoid other species. How ya find ‘em?”
As you tell zir how you met your new friend, you hear the door open and close. Sounds like whoever opened the door tried to be sneaky. Your dad must’ve heard it too, as xe also turned toward the door. Not even five seconds later, you see a small pair of wings and two tiny horns. You hear your dad sigh.
“Come out boys .”
You turn all the way around , only to find that your brothers have shown themselves.
“You're No Fun Dad.”
Tym(mi) was the first to speak.
“Yeah, No Fun.”
While Tyler was second.
“How Come *Koray* Never Gets In Trouble? They ALWAYS Get Home Late.”
“That’s because they never TRY to get in trouble, unlike you too.
So, which house did you burn down this time?”
The more casual the conversation gets, the more you wonder how crazy this family really is.
“We Didn’t Burn A House Down, Dad.”
“Then who did you boys hurt then?
“......”
As you hear your dad sigh, you excuse yourself from the table. As you walk up the stairs, you hear your dad getting more and more annoyed with the boys. You wonder what they did. You know that Tymmi likes to cause more problems than Tyler but, when they're together, you just know how chaotic they can get.
As you are heading towards your room, you see the same blue light you saw last night. Instead of going into your room as you planned, you head towards the blue light for closer inspection. On closer inspection, you notice this light is really a small… flame? You move closer. You notice the little flame seems to have a body. For a second, you relaxed. It hasn't really moved, and it seems like it hasn’t spread anywhere. You jumped back as it suddenly flew past you and down the stairs.
Without thinking, you chase after it, somehow avoiding your family view.

As you follow the flame, you realise you’re headed toward the forest that surrounds the little town. Upon entering it, you hear a familiar voice.
“Koray. Where are you going?”
You jump, startled by the sudden appearance of Faith. You tell them you were just following a flame.
“Why?”
That made you think for a second, why were you following the flame? Instead of answering their question, you reply with your own. You ask Faith why they are out here.
“Saw you running towards the forest. What else, now answer my question.”
You sigh, realising you have no way to avoid answering that. You tell them that you don’t know why, you just did. You shiver under Faith’s gaze, which you now just noticed was icy and cold.
“Let’s get you back inside. It’s freezing out here.”
They place their hand on your back as you notice their gaze softened and warm. Did they not like you being here?

Walking back inside your home, you find your dad sleeping on the couch with your brothers on either side of zir. Closing the door quietly, you head up to your room.
Laying down on your bed, you start to drift off. That was until you remember, your mom gets upset if she sees you wearing the same clothes you have on during the day.
Taking a quick shower, you change into your pj's, and drift off to sleep.
