Until Death do Us Part

As they entered the room, Ei quickly opened the shelf grab the futon and lay it on the floor beside hers. "You gonna sleep here." 

"Hmm~" Miko smiled teasingly. "It seems you already prepared that somebody will live together with you. Did you have been waiting for this, Ei?" She teased again with a smirk. 

"Tsk, you are just so full of yourself. " Ei replied shortly then turned to Miko. 

"Instead of teasing me, why dont you just change your clot-"

'thud' 

The pink haired girl immediately lay down on the futon. Seconds later, Ei can heard soft purr from Miko.  

She huffed. Well, Miko already stood up for more than 6 hours in front of her building. No wonder she can be asleep as soon as she saw the futon in front of her. After covered Miko's body with the blanket, Ei join the sleep beside that strange woman.

Miko opened her eyes slowly. She found Ei who slept right besides her. Miko smiles while eyes still locked to the woman next to her, enjoying the view.  

She has luscious eyelashes, her lips are shapely with natural rosy color, her dark purple hair spilled over the pillow in soft waves.  Oh, Miko just realize that woman has tiny mole under her right eyes. Make her more appealing.

"Hmmhh.." Ei humph in her sleep as she turned to the other side, back facing Miko.

At the same time, the door bell rang for a few times. Miko walk out and look at the front door. "Ei, looks like you have guest.."

But the later only covered herself with a blanket. Miko  just smiled, she turned around and walked to the door, deciding to see for herself who had come.

The door knob turned and the door gently opened. Miko met a tall girl with short hair standing in front of the door. The guest looks surprised as she saw her. She look at the flat number, make sure that she is not wrong. After a few times, the guest asked her.  

"Who are you?"

"Dont test my patience. Now tell me where is Ei?" 

"I have said to you there is no Ei in this room" 

"Do you think I am a fool? I am her childhood friend!! And who the fuck are you?" 

"No! You cant enter my room! This is my teritory!" 

"Ei!! It's me, Sara! Answer me! Where are you! Should i call police?!! " 

Ei was dreaming. A good dream that she barely had it since few weeks. In her dream she is busy pushing her rank. After a while she began to hear the noise. She tried to ignore but the noise is getting louder. Her good dream changed into a noisy dream. Finally, Ei choose to open her eyes to end that noisy dream.

Unfortunately the noise still there. She wake up and groans, "ugh... Who the fuck shouting each other at this hour?" 

She gets up and walk to the front room, wondering what happened in the outside. 

"Let. Me. In!" 

"No. Fucking. Way." 

A rare sight happening in front of Ei. Two girls bickering with each other. A short haired girl want to enter her flat with force versus A long pink haired girl who block the other  with all her power. 

"Sara?" Ei rubbed her eyes, make sure that she saw the right person. and yeah, it is her friend, Sara. 

Both of them stop the fight and turned around. The girl called Sara grins happily and rushed towards Ei and hug her. "Ei!" 

"I hear the news. Are you okay?" Sara look at her with worried face. Ei only nods and let her in. 

"I am fine. Besides...." Ei glance at Miko who looks at her with cynical stares. Weird, isnt it Ei who supposed to gave a cynical look since Miko being rude towards her friend? 

"Why you dont let my friend get in?" Either way, Ei still need to know Miko's explanation. 

But Miko just pout and look away, didnt want to answer the host of this flat. 

"Ei, who is she and where did you meet her? I believe something is wrong with her brain..." Sara whispered as she saw Miko walk away from them, made her way to the bed room and slam the door. 

"The story is kinda long... I will tell you when we have the time. Just ignore her be for the time being.  Now..." Ei sat on the sofa and look at Sara. "Why do you come here?"  

"Is that true? that you have a fight with some students?" Sara who already on the couch look at Ei with concerned face.

Ei just nods. "it is okay. It already happened many times." 

"Many times?" Sara sighed. "Ei, this is a serious case. I heard they are preparing to make you drop out from the schoold. Why didnt you tell me earlier? I could help you, i can ask my adoptive parents to help you out.." 

"Nope. I dont want to use you as well as your connection. Believe me, it is okay Sara. I can handle it by myself." Ei reject it politely. Even if Sara can convince her parent to help her, that won't be the permanent solution. Ei already has bad images in the school. This kind of shit will happen again in the future. 

Ei noticed the dissappointed expression from Sara. "But I appreciated your kind of Sara. you really grown up, huh? From crying little girl to a president of student council. Such a character development." Ei chuckles and that make the other girl blushed instantly. 

"A-ah.. you- you are exagerrating. I think if you didnt protect me from the bully back on the orphan, I would still be the crying little Sara until now."  

Sara and Ei belong to the same orphanage. Just as Sara told, they become closed friend when Ei always beat out the guys who always distrubed them. years later, Sara got adopted by a kind parent so she leave the orphanage earlier. Destiny brought them back together when they coincedentally entered the same high school even though they have different circumstance now. with her new social status as the daughter of Kujou family, Sara has her own circle and high self-confidence. Despite of that, she still the same Sara that Ei know. Eventhough they are in different class, they still keep in touch with each other. 

"Oh, i almost forget about this." Sara opened her bag and  hands out a bento box. 

"For you." She said it shyly. 

"Oh, thank you. I will eat it later."  Ei accepted the bento box and gave a warm smiles.

"If you ever need help, please just call me, okay? I'll leave now." Sara smiled. She still looks a bit dissappointed but she is trying to understand. Ei dont want to trouble her. 

After Sara left, Ei entered the bed room and approached Miko who still lying under her blanket. She opened it and found Miko backface her, didnt turned at her even after Ei took away her blanket. 

Ei sighed, "You havent eat right? Here, have some." Ei hands out the bento box and some cola.

Her ears move a little, She quickly get up.  "Oh, What is the menu for today?" She asked with shining eyes. 

'It's so easy to change her mood...' thought Ei. She opened the bento box and found a complete karage menu set that looked tempting.

"Ittadakimasu!!" Miko excitedly grab the chopstick and eat the bento. Ei smiled as she rested her chin on her palm."It's from Sara, by the way."

"cough cough!" Miko choked. She stopped eating immediately after Ei said that. 

"Ah, i see.. that's why I taste something wrong in that food." She said sheeplessly.

"pfft" Ei cant hold her laugh then give her a cola can. "Do you think I will believe your words after seeing you eat that bento wholeheartedly?"

Ei took back the chopstick from Miko and try the food given by Sara. "Hmm, there is nothing wrong with this food. Delicious as usual." She glances at Miko, "Why are you so rude to Sara anyway? You even dont know about her."

Once again, Miko didnt answered. Ei frowned as she noticed Miko's cheek is flushed. She look at where Miko's stare at her and it was...

her hand that hold the chopstick.

".....D-does that mean we have indirect kiss?" She asked nervously. 

"...Foolish question." Ei put the chopstick and told Miko to continue her eating.

"You havent answered my question by the way." Ei bring the topic again.

"....Let's just said that it is a woman instinct. I dont like her for some reasons and dont ask me why." 
In summary, Miko is jealous. But the girl just didnt want to admit it blatantly in front of the woman she likes. Ei just sighed hearing the answer.

"First, Sara is my close friend. I never see her more than a little sister. Which is, I didn't love her as a woman or something like that. Are we clear?" Ei amazed with herself. Why would she go this far? Explaining this unimportant explanation to someone she just met.

Yae Miko only nods. Her hand began take the chopstick and start eating. Like it or not, the bento from Sara is quite delicious.

Ei gazed at the pink haired woman who still eating passionately, "Miko." She called. 

"Do you really can see the future?" Ei asked while staring the other girl who eats quickly. 

"Yes. Well there is some limitations though, and it would be a long ass essay if you want to know more about it." Miko answered.

Ei take her cola can and opened it. 

"Then, what will I be in the future?" Ei asked again before sip the coke. 

"My wife."

'Bruust' Ei spats out her water. And some of it reached Miko's face.

"S-sorry..." Ei quickly take a tissue and wipe her face gently. While Miko just exhales heavily, trying to understand Ei's reaction.

"Anyway, how you are so sure about that? And what I want to know is what's my  job is. Not about our relationship-" Ei look at her disbelief.

"Hmm.. I dont know about your job.." Miko shrugged before continue eating.  

"what I remember is we are together in altar.. and you vow to me in front of the priest. That you will protect me..."

"Until death do us part."  She ended her words.

Ei freezed. She still can't believe this. Any words comes from Miko just give her more goosebumps. 

"How do I look in the future?" Ei asked again curiously.

Miko slurped her last noodle. "You look so beautiful with that white dress.. your hair is much longer than this and you braided it..."

"STOP." Ei snaps.

"Okay. that is too much story. I cant take it anymore." She feels goosebumps as she imagined herself based on Miko's story.  She hands out the cola can again to Miko, a sign to change the topic.

" it's okay. I still love you." Miko smiles sincerely and opened her coke can that given by Ei.

"Tsk," Ei geezed at Miko. she feel annoyed with her words, somehow. 

"So, how you gonna pay me?" Ei changes the topic to lift up her mood. Actually she doesn't interest with the money, she just curious with Miko's abilities.

"Oh, right. hmmm..." Miko looks at the clock. "I will pay it around 7pm."

"Huh? why cant you pay it now? " Ei looks intrigued.

"You will understand it later. Now.. i want to take a bath. Can you lend me some clothes?" Miko smiles and get up. 

It seems Ei have to wait to know the answer.

"Give me your phone" Miko extend her hand to high school girl. It is already 7 pm , which means... paytime!

Ei gave Miko her phone without asking. Eventhough she don't understand what Miko gonna do. 

"Turn on the TV." Miko starts using her phone, which make Ei become more curious.

"What are you doing?" She moved to Miko's side to look closer after turned on the television. Her eyebrows creased knowing Miko installed online horse race application. 

"D-dont say that you-"

"Yes." The pink haired girl winked at Ei. 

"We are gonna bet on horse race~"  Miko added happily. Horse race is regular show in Teyvat TV everyday at 7pm.

Ei gulped. She saw Miko linked the app with her bank account. 

"I dont have much money and if we lost this game..."

"Ssh, just believe me." Miko placed her index finger to Ei's lips to make the latter keep her mouth shut.

Miko choose the closest upcoming horse race which will be live in an hour. She closed her eyes for awhile, then be Ei's money to horse no. 7 for  200.000 mora.

Ei panicked,"That's the only money left in my bank account!"  If she lost she doesnt know how to survive this month. 

"Relax~ I actually want to max the bet which is 500.000 mora for better profit but unfortunately you dont have enough money." Miko give back her phone to Ei. Her stares then changed to the television. Ei dont have any other options but follows her.

This is the first time Ei bet her money and she felt so nervous. She bite her fingers and watch the race seriously. While Miko glanced at Ei few times. The nervous Ei definetly more interesting to watch than the horse race. 

The horse race begins. At first, No. 7 runs slower than the others, make him fall behind. Ei can feel her heart beating fast.

 
'What if I lose?

Should I begging Sara to let her live in her house?

No, it will just make her friend goes into trouble.

The most important is this fox girl, she is the on who has to be responsible if something bad happened to Ei.

If that happened... Looks like gave back Miko to that gangster for amount of money is not a bad idea... '

Last turned, in a split of seconds the horse no. 7 did his sprint and drove fast throughout the way.  As expected, Miko's pick got the first spot which make Ei shouted instantly. "WOAH WE WON!!" 

Ei look at Miko in disbelief,"WE WON! T-THATS MEAN..."

Miko nods, "You can check the apps." 

Ei opened the horse race apps and checked her balance. It become 600.000 mora. Ei get triple amount of money!

Miko yawns, "we are lucky that today winner is an underdog so we got the best odds. Now I need to sleep again..." 

"Oh sure. Wait a minute-" Ei quickly get up to tidy up her futon. This time, Ei owes to Miko as the latter give her much money. Not mentioning she feels guilty after thinking what she will do to Miko if she lose. "You can sleep now." Ei said after the futon is ready to use. 

Miko smiled at her. A smile that make her heart melting silently. 

How can this girl effortlessly beautiful? 

"Thank you." She lies on the futon comfortably. Ei sleep besides her and stares the woman for a while. 

"Why you keep stares at me?" Miko asked with eyes closed. Ei's eyes widen. She didn't expect to be caught like this.

"D-did you see this on the future too?"

"Nah, I just have sensitive feeling."

"... Can you tell me the other future that you see now?"

Miko paused for a while.

"I think yes."

Ei looks curious, "What is it?"

"You will kiss me tonight."

"Bah!" Ei rolled her eyes. She turned her body, back facing Miko. 

"That won't happened 100%. I guarantee it."

Bonus Scene: Ei's 1st POV

"Ei, your hair is so messy... let me tidy it." 

"Nee-san... I dont like getting my hair braided."

"Why? You look so pretty tho with this hairstyle." 

"R-really? but the guy will mock me if I appear with this hairstyle..."

"Who cares? you can just beat them up like usual."

A voice of laughter comes between them. 

"You know, Ei... When we grow up I wish i am the one who braided your hair in your wedding."

"Why you suddenly talked about wedding? it is still so far away, nee-san. "

"Hmm...Just because~" 

Since you passed away, I never remember that memory up until now. Until a woman with pink hair who looks like a fox appear in front of me. She keep talking nonsense, saying that she can see the future, she will be my wife, and what ridiculous is my hair is getting braided during my wedding. 

That's impossible. I will never let anyone braided my hair but you, sister. 

"STOP. That is too much story. I cant take it anymore."   I stopped her talk before her imagination get wilder. 

 "it's okay. I still love you." She replied. How can she say that words so casually to me? 

I look away, trying to look annoyed.

Wish she cant see my blushing face because of her cheesy words.
