Segin Squad pt. 1
Nemona dismissed the timer, and started to gather up all of her stuff. Despite Nemona’s assurances to Penny she really wasn’t sure how she felt about the Cassiopeia thing. I mean, yeah, Penny did lie to her and would probably have continued lying had Penny not “come out” about it.
Nemona left Penny sitting on the bed to grab her bag from the kitchenette, “Hey Pen, I’ll leave you in here if you want. I’m more than fine with battling Giacomo on my own.”
“I’m fine with that,” Penny shuffled around the room, “I’ll check us out of the room.”
“Hey, why don’t you challenge the gym while I take the Star boss!” Nemona suggested with a big smile.
Penny nodded gently and left the room, letting the door shut with a sharp click. Nemona released the breath she’d been holding, glad that they were on good terms. It would be terrifying if your friend/crush who could hack your accounts thought you hated them and were a big transphobe.
Nemona booked it to a recent Pokémon center to add a couple Pokémon to help win. She wanted it to be a bit challenge, which, granted, was kind of mean to Giacomo. She sort of remembered him as a class president several months ago, maybe a year now. He wasn’t a bad person but now he was pretty much in the same position the kids who’d bullied him. She decided to add Floragato, Goomy, and Rockruff to her team. This was going to be an amazing team to trial, maybe she could make Florian come around.
Nemona stretched and leisurely walked in the direction Cas-Penny had marked on her phone. South Providence was so pretty, Nemona was jealous she hadn’t grown up here like Florian had.
A couple of trainers on the way challenged her, but they were all quickly defeated. Reaching the gate thingys of the dark base, Nemona noticed a door bell type thing, she raised her hand and pushed it as fast as she could.
“Woah, woah,” one of the Team Star members swung the door open so fast that Nemona poked him in the eye trying to ring the bell again, “Ugh-What? Who are you?”
Nemona smiled brightly at him, “I’m here to take down your boss!”
The Team Star member looked her up and down before sighing and begrudgingly moving aside, “You’ll have to beat 30 of our Pokémon in 10 minutes and then you can battle the boss.”
“Yes, I can totally do that!” Nemona smiled before letting out Floragato and Goomy.
The Team Star member whistled a weird little tune and let out a Murkrow. Goomy made quick work of it and Nemona ordered her Pokémon on. The further into the base they got the more sad it looked, sort of run down and dead over all, there weren’t that many members even. The ratio of Pokémon to trainer was largely skewed. Beating 30 of them wasn’t really even that difficult, she had even chosen Pokémon to be in level with these guys according to Penny!
An abrupt yell and car noise(?) startled Nemona deeply, “You've done a real number on us, party crasher! Nemona, was it? I'm Giacomo! At the deck, I go by DJ Vice! Call me whichever—it's a vibe either way. Nice to meet you and all...but how 'bout we skip straight to your outro? Don't worry—I'll play you a sick requiem as you crash and burn. Let's get this party staaarteeed”
