Chapter 3 - Encounters and Reunions
*Months later*
Y/N had been a trainee for over two years now, and things were finally looking up. She had received news from her company that they were considering her for a debut team, and her heart was filled with excitement and joy. But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia and sadness.
Just a few days ago, the members of I*zone had said their final goodbyes to Wiz*one. Y/N had watched the emotional concert on her laptop, tears streaming down her face as she saw her idols leave the stage for the last time.
As she wiped away her tears, Y/N couldn't help but feel a deep sense of respect and admiration for the Iz*one members. They had worked so hard and had achieved so much, becoming one of the most successful girl groups in the industry.
But as she watched them bid farewell to their fans, Y/N couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to stand on that stage herself, to feel the love and adoration of thousands of fans.
As emotional as Y/N was at that time, she had to get herself back into training, spending hours perfecting her vocals and dance moves. She was determined to do everything she could to make her debut a reality.
“I'm going to make it,” she thought to herself with determination.
Y/N had been eagerly following the rumors about Chaewon and Sakura potentially joining Hybe Labels, constantly refreshing her social media feeds to check for any updates. The thought of being in the same company as her idols filled her with excitement and disbelief.
But as the months passed by, there was still no news or official confirmation. Y/N couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, wondering when – or if ever - she would get to meet them.
Despite the delay, Y/N remained focused on her training, determined to improve and show her best, pushing herself to the limit every day.
As she walked out of another successful monthly evaluation, Y/N couldn't help but feel proud of how far she had come. She knew there was still a long way to go, but she was so close. She could feel it.
For the past two years her daily routine consisted of hours of dance practice, vocal training, and physical exercise to keep her body in shape. She knew debuting was just around the corner, and she wanted to be ready for it.
In August 2021, the news of Chaewon and Sakura's signing with Hybe Labels spread like wildfire.
Y/N was over the moon with excitement, unable to contain her joy. “Did you hear? Chaewon and Sakura are going to re-debut under Hybe!” she exclaimed to her fellow trainees, who shared her enthusiasm.
Despite her excitement, Y/N knew that she still had a long way to go before she could meet her idols in person.
“I can't wait to debut and show everyone what I'm capable of,” she thought to herself, fueled by her passion and drive.
As more months went by, Y/N continued to impress her mentors with progress. She continued to score well in monthly evaluations, showcasing her dedication and hard work. Her fellow trainees looked up to her as a role model, admiring her tenacity and perseverance. Y/N felt amazing.
With a smile on her face and a heart full of determination, Y/N knew that she was one step closer to making her dream a reality. “I am going to make it, I can feel it,” she thought to herself with a smile.
As aware as Y/N was of her improved skills, she still couldn't hide her nervousness when the CEO of her company called her in for a meeting. Heart pounding with anticipation, Y/N wondered what the meeting could be about. There was one thing she hoped it was about.
“Y/N, congratulations,” the CEO said with a smile. “You're going to debut in our new group, LE SSERAFIM. We're planning to debut the group in May 2022.”
Tears of joy streamed down Y/N's face as she thanked the CEO. All her hard work and dedication had finally paid off. This can't be real. No way she did it. She's going to be an idol. Y/N will debut.
As she left the meeting, Y/N couldn't wait to share the news with her fellow trainees later at the dorms. However, as she walked into the practice room, she saw a familiar face. It was Huh Yunjin, who had just returned to South Korea and was also set to debut in LE SSERAFIM.
“Yunjin?! OMG!” Y/N exclaimed, her face lighting up with excitement. “I remember watching you on Produce 48. You were one of my favorites. What are you doing here?”
Yunjin smiled warmly and introduced herself.
“Hi Y/N. I'm Huh Yunjin. I was told you're one of their best girls. I'm excited to do this together.”
From that moment on, the two trainees quickly became friends, bonding over their shared love for music and dance.
Y/N was thrilled about the debut of their group, LE SSERAFIM, and couldn't wait to find out who the other members were. However, the company kept it a secret, and Y/N couldn't help but feel anxious about their secret identities. She was dying to know who the other members were, but she tried her best to focus on the practice. She would find out eventually.
Who could they be? (A/N Y/N was way too excited to put 2 + 2 together LMAO)
Days later, during a break, Yunjin called Y/N over, saying the staff had a surprise for them. Y/N was curious about what it could be. When she arrived, she saw KIM CHAEWON and MIYAWAKI SAKURA standing in the practice room. Y/N was stunned and couldn't believe her eyes.
Yunjin was equally shocked to see Chaewon and Sakura. “Sakura unnie! Chaewon unnie! I can't believe it!” Yunjin exclaimed.
Chaewon and Sakura were humble and shy, not wanting to come off as seniors or sunbaenims. “It's great to see you again, Yunjin-ah. And you must be Y/N, our new member,” Chaewon said with a smile and then bowed.
Y/N was in awe, unable to speak. She finally managed to muster up the courage to speak, “I'm a huge fan of yours, Chaewon sunbaenim. And Sakura sunbaenim, I admire you as well,” she spoke quickly before bowing several times.
“Oh, thank you so much, but please don't!” Sakura motioned for Y/N to stop bowing. “We're a team now. You don't have to see us as sunbaenims,” Sakura spoke for her and Chaewon.
Y/N blushed and nodded shyly.
As Y/N drifted off, Chaewon and Sakura were chatting with Yunjin, catching up on old times about Produce 48 and life in between. Y/N couldn't believe that she was standing right next to her idol and… well, her celebrity crush. Oh.
