It had been a few days since Mary gave the last letter, the next person was Lilith, and she was hard to find because of how much she would teleport. Mary had noticed that Mother Superion seemed more happy and not so tense since she read Ava's letter, which made Mary feel a little bit better.
It was a matter of a few days before Lilith went back to Cat's Cradle, and Mary wanted to give her the letter right away, but she arrived in the night and was tired, so she couldn't hand her the letter. It wasn't until the morning after that she went to Lilith's room, but she didn't find her in there, which immediately made her think of where she was; she went straight to Camila's room and knocked on the door, Camila opened the door a few seconds later and blushed a little as soon as she saw Mary's smirk, the older woman went inside the room and took a pillow to hit Lilith lightly on the stomach, which caused the taller woman to wake up quickly, startled and worried; she looked up and saw Mary smiling at her, the taller woman rolled her eyes before flopping back on the bed.
"Wakey wakey sunshine", she said, smirking and chuckling a little, Camila looked at Mary for a few seconds, noticing the paper on her hand, she knew what it was, and she knew Mary had to give it to her alone, she took some clothes and walked towards the door, "Lil, I'm going take a shower, you keep resting, okay?", she waited a few moments for Lilith to answer, but all she heard in response was a muffled growl, which was enough for her. She left the room and closed the door, leaving Mary and Lilith inside, in complete silence.
Mary took out the letter for Vincent and showed it to Lilith, seeing how the look on her face went from anger to happiness in a matter of a few moments. She couldn't blame her, the fact that Ava only left a small note for him that said "Fuck you" was funny, and they knew that he knew he deserved it, so he wouldn't be upset, he would probably even laugh a bit. Mary stood still for a few more moments, wanting to give Lilith the letter but not sure how.
"What else do you need, Mary?", the taller woman finally asked, looking at her, the older woman avoided her eyes, fidgeting with the paper in her hands, this seemed to bother Lilith a little, she was tired and Mary wasn't letting her rest, but she could feel something was wrong, she could feel Mary's nervousness. "Here, take this", Mary said after some moments silent, handing the woman on the bed the letter, she took it and stared at it for a few moments, "Are you going to confess your feelings for me or what?", she joked, paying more attention to the letter, seeing a little bit of the handwriting, "Is this-", she was cut off by the older woman, "Yes, it's from Ava, she left it, for you", she informed, still fidgeting with her hands. Lilith stared at the paper for a few moments before putting it on the small table next to the bed and putting a pillow back on her face, "I'll read it later, when I feel, ready", she said to Mary, the older woman just nodded her head and walked to the door, opened it and left the room. She went outside, wanting to feel fresh air.
Lilith closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them and taking the letter to look at it once more. She doesn't know how long she stared at it, but it must have been a while because she heard the door opening once more, seeing Camila entering the room, she looked at her long enough for the shorter girl to notice, she smiled at her before sitting on the next, right next to Lilith, she saw the letter on her hands and her smile dropped a bit; "You want to be alone?", she asked the taller girl a bit nervous, but Lilith shook her head, moving on the bed to be closer to the younger girl. Camila let Lilith put her head on her chest before opening the letter to read it, she knew Lilith needed some sort of privacy, so she took a book that she had nearby and started reading.
Lilith took a deep breath, Camila must have heard it because she started to stroke her hair gently, making Lilith feel better. It took her a few seconds before she could start reading the letter.

Yes, my goodbye letter for you had to have at least one curse, so you're gonna suck it. I have no idea if this letter will reach you, right now, as I'm writing this, you're still kind of in Adriel's side, so you're still a bitch, but I hope that you realize that you are, indeed, on the wrong side here; I really hope you get this letter because even if you're a bitch, I still consider you my friend, and I know that you'll say something like 'We're not friends', or something along those lines, but I consider you a friend, even if at first you were a bitch, and you wanted to kill me with a stick, you still gave your life for me. And I know that it's sort of your job, to protect the Warrior Nun, but, I'm grateful for that, I really am, and you have no idea how happy I was when you came back, still, I couldn't help but feel guilty, I mean, I kind of, sort of, I made your job difficult, and I know I caused a bunch of trouble for everyone, and I know I sucked at training and I know all of this and more, but I feel like I'm already doing you a big favor saying all of this things that I planned taking to my grave.
But, I guess it won't make a difference, you can't really make fun of me if I'm dead, can you? So I win this. But I kind of wish I didn't, sounds weird, but I wanted to fight with you more, you know? But, not like this, not on different sides, I wanted to train with you more, I wanted to show you how much I've improved, and to show you that I'm not the scared girl you met months ago, but, I mean, this also works, I'm still going to beat your ass when we fight, and hopefully, that will be enough to bring you back.
But I wish you were here right now, with all your new powers, we would have a bigger chance of winning, I would have a bigger chance of living, but, I don't know, sometimes I think that things wouldn't be that different even if you were with us; I mean in like, this war, things would be much different if you were here, for example, Camila wouldn't be so alone, and you would've been a big help for Mother Superion when she, Yasmine and Duretti were in danger. And also when they were in danger fighting those assholes that attacked Duretti and killed Mother Superion. But I get your reasons, I mean, I don't really know how it feels, I've never been in a similar situation, but I know it must be hard, not being able to be what everyone, what your mother, wanted you to be.
But you know what? You don't need the Halo to be amazing, you are already so powerful and badass and awesome and you're a good fighter, an awesome fighter, being completely honest. Lilith I don't know what to tell you, I'm kind of mad at you but I still think that you can come back, I know you can, you always know what's wrong and what's right and I'm sure you will soon realize that Adriel is not on the right side. I wish I could bring you back, you would be a great help, but most important, we wouldn't miss you this much, Lilith we all miss you and want you back, Camila doesn't say anything, but I know how she feels, I know she would do anything just to bring you back home, she misses you a lot, you know? And I know Mary does too, and also Bea and Mother Superion, and I do too, if it's still not clear yet, I miss you, but not as much as Camila. I find her constantly looking around when she's outside, I know she's looking for you, but I don't say anything.
Lilith I have no idea what's going to happen, maybe you'll read this letter on your own, or maybe you'll read it with that asshole next to you, or maybe you'll read it back at Cat's Cradle, or not there, but with Camila by your side, I have no idea, I don't know what will happen after this fight, but please, if you're not with your family yet, come back, come back home, you're loved and missed and you deserve people who love you by your side, so please, Lilith, just come back to

Lilith had tears on her eyes, Camila kept stroking her hair the whole time, not wanting to interrupt Lilith mid reading, it wasn't until she heard Lilith folding the letter back to how it was and putting it back on the envelope that she stopped stroking her hair and put her book down, "You okay, Lil?", she asked, concerned at the sudden tears that she noticed on her lover's eyes. Lilith nodded her head and smiled and Camila, "Yeah, Ava's just a bitch", she answers, and Camila immediately poked her cheek with her finger, "Language", she warned before hugging Lilith, making the taller woman's head on the crook of her neck; Lilith couldn't hold it in anymore, more tears left her eyes as she slowly moved to hug Camila back, truth is, Ava did leave some impact on her, and she was the main reason of why Lilith came back.
On their last fight, she saw how Ava gave her life for people she knew only for a few months, meanwhile, Lilith gave everything up, and she left people she knew for almost a year just for power. She realized how different they were, and she finally understood that Ava did deserve the Halo and not her, but now, now Lilith was back, and she was going to make sure she did Ava's job well, she would make sure to try and be a bit more like Ava, not in the 'goofy funny silly way', but in the 'I will give my life for the people I love' way.
Lilith looked up to Camila, directly in her eyes, Camila looked back at her, with a shy smile and a confused look, "You know I love you, right?", the older girl asked, her eyes filled with love and appreciation, the younger girl nodded her head and kissed her on the nose, "I know you do, Lil, I love you too", she said. Lilith once again put her head on Camila's chest, and Camila went back to stroke her hair, they stayed in silence for a few moments. "You sure you're okay?", Camila asked once more, Lilith stayed quiet for a few seconds before shaking her head, "I'm going to miss that idiot", she admitted, her tone shy and low, if it wasn't because the younger girl was so close, she wouldn't have heard it, she didn't answer, she just hugged her tighter and kissed her forehead, Lilith got comfier on their positions and smiled softly, closing her eyes to fall asleep once more. She felt at peace, she knew Ava wasn't really gone, so she swore to bring her back and tell her the truth, that she saw her as a friend too.
