chapter 3
"So do you wanna tell me what happened?" Keith and Lance were sitting on the bed. Lance leaning on Keith, and Keith rubbing circles into Lance's back.
"Nightmare." Lance's voice was soft. Almost close to a whisper but loud enough for Keith to hear.
"About what? It might help if you talk about it." Lance leaned closer into Keith. It was cold in the room and Lance had kicked the blankets off while he was struggling to breathe.
"He found me. I'm sorry." Keith kept rubbing circles onto Lance's back. "Don't be. It'll be ok. I'll protect you. Do you want some water? Or something to eat?"
Lance nodded and got off of Keith. "Nope. You're coming with me I want to be able to see you to make sure you're ok."
Keith picked Lance up and placed him on the counter while he grabbed a bowl of Lucky Charms and some water. He slid them over to Lance.
Lance ate the cereal and finished the water. "Alright wanna watch something or do you wanna go back to bed?" Keith picked Lance back up and waited for him to answer.
"Bed. I'm tired." Keith nodded and they walked back to his room. Lance laid down but stayed away from Keith.
"You know, I don't mind when you cling to me. It's kinda nice but if you don't want to, then that's ok with me."
Keith said this in hopes that Lance didn't feel bad for clinging to Keith 24/7. Lance clearly knew that and moved closer to Keith but not all the way.
Keith didn't want to make Lance uncomfortable so he just opened his arms and waited.
Around two or three in the morning Lance ended up crawling into Keith's arms.
At 8:00 Keith woke up to start getting ready for work. Lance woke up from all the movement.
"Where're you going?" Lance was groggy and his words were slurred but Keith could still tell what he was saying.
"Work. You can come with but I don't know if you're gonna wanna hang out at a starbucks all day." Lance nodded and shoved his head deeper into the pillow.
"You coming or no?" Lance shook his head. "Don't want Lotor to see me." Keith nodded and finished getting ready. At 9:00 he got ready to leave.
"I gotta go now I'll be back around 4:30. I had to pick up a double. Shiro and Matt are here. Pidge slept on the couch you can hang out with her if you want."
Keith left to go to work leaving Lance on his own. Pidge woke up and hour later and knocked on Keith's door.
"Yo lover boy. You up?" Lance opened the door. "Hi."
"I put on Avengers if you wanna come watch." Lance nodded and followed Pidge to the couch.
"So do you like Keith?" Lance looked at Pidge. Of course he liked Keith. He's helping him.
"Of course I do. He helped me."
"No I mean do you like Keith." Pidge put a hand on Lance's shoulder. "As in do you have a crush on him?"
Lance turned red. "Well I mean, I would date him if he wanted to date me. But I wouldn't say that counts as a crush."
"It totally does! Shiro is gonna love this!" Lance kept his eyes on the movie. Was it really a crush? He just got out of a toxic relationship. Well he didn't really get out he kinda just ran away. But still was he ready for another relationship?
Shiro and Matt walked out. "I'll love what?" Pidge looked at Lance to make sure she can tell him. Lance nodded and smiled.
"Lover boy over here has a crush on Keith!" Shiro went wide eyed and jumped on the couch. "What?!" Matt and Shiro yelled in unison.
"You have to tell me all about it." Matt sat next to Shiro both being on the left of Lance and Pidge being on the right.
"Well as you probably know Keith kinda kidnapped me. But technically not cause I agreed to come with. Anyways, he's just been super kind to me. Maybe it's because of that or maybe I just miss dating someone. I'm not sure yet, but Keith is special to me and that's what I care about."
Pidge, Matt and Shiro all stared at each other. "You got it bad." They all said in unison.
~With Keith~
It was a long day. Taking orders and names, making sure you got everything right. The common cat calls and rude people.
He just couldn't wait to go home. Most of all, he couldn't wait to see Lance. He got his break around 1:45 so he decided to call Shiro and the others.
"Hey. I just got on my break how's everything going? Is Lance ok? I don't need to come home right?"
Keith was a little worried, sure, but he couldn't help it. He doesn't know what will happen if he isn't near Lance.
"Everything is fine. Lance is perfect and actually really sweet once he starts talking. We've been talking almost all day and it's really interesting. No you don't need to come back."
Keith sighed. He wanted Lance not being ok to be an excuse to go home but he was relieved to know that he was doing well.
"That's good. I was a little worried."
"Can I ask you something, Keith?" Shiro was whispering.
"You just did. But sure."
Shiro took a deep breath. "Do you have a crush on Lance?"
Shiro couldn't see him, but Keith went red.
"Why? Was he asking? W-what do you mean a crush? I mean I wouldn't say that-"
"I'll take that as a yes." Keith sighed.
"Yea. I do. But don't say anything. He just got out of a really bad relationship and I don't wanna push him into anything."
"You don't have to worry about that. I won't say a word."
Keith's break was over. "Gotta go. See you when I get home." Keith hung up and got back to work.
~With Lance~
Keith liked Lance? "Omg. Keith likes me. Omg! Keith likes me!" Lance got louder the second time. "I knew it! You guys have to go out!"
~Time skip cause im lazy~
When Keith got home, Lance was watching TV on the couch. He was watching Adventure Time.
Keith thought about Lance for the rest of work and now that he's home he doesn't know what to do.
"Hey I'm back." Keith walked into his room to change into something more comfortable then walked back out to sit next to Lance.
"Hey." Lance didn't look at Keith, he just kept his eyes on the screen. "You ok?" Lance finally looked at Keith and nodded. He was flushed red and couldn't hold back a smile.
That made Keith a little worried. "You sure? You're all red." Keith placed the back of his hand on Lance's forehead to check if he was warm or not.
He wasn't. "Im fine Keith. Just figured something out. That's all." Lance grabbed Keith's hand and pulled away while talking. He never let go.
He went back to watching the TV. "Did Pidge and Matt leave?" Lance kept his eyes on the screen. "Shiro and them are at McDonalds. Shiro and Matt can't cook and Pidge wouldn't let me."
"You can cook?" Lance nodded and smiled. "My mama taught me and my best friend. I haven't seen either of them in a while."
Keith pulled his hand away from Lance and placed it around his shoulder then started to lay down and pull Lance with him.
Lance and Keith stayed like that till the others got back. Keith fell asleep so when the trio walked in Lance immediately shushed them.
"Have you asked him?" Pidge was very persistent and wouldn't stop asking Lance if he had asked or told Keith about his crush.
He obviously didn't.
He will thought. At some point. Preferably after dinner.
Lance woke Keith up so that they could eat and everyone sat at the table. "So, Keithy. Has Lance asked you anything recently?"
Pidge was butting in again. Lance sent her a glare, telling her that he will get his revenge.
"No? Is everything ok? Lance whats wrong?" Shiro and Matt looked at each other, mouthing words like "He's worried. Same thing happened when he called me." And "He's so in love."
Lance looked at Keith. "I'm fine it isn't a big deal. If you really wanna know then can we go in your room?" Keith stood up immediately. Really wanting to know.
Lance followed him into his room and closed the door. "Ok. Here goes." Lance took a deep breath and walked towards Keith.
"Keith, you've been helping me a lot recently and I really appreciate it. And over time I may or may not have started to grow feelings for you." Keith stood there mouth wide.
"And when Shiro called you, you were on speaker phone and he asked on purpose so that I would know if you liked me or not."
Keith started walking closer to Lance. "And now I know you like me back but I don't know if you'd actually want something to happen between us. And I don't wanna make anything awkward."
"Lance."
"You don't need to say anything. I bet it was just a spur of the moment thing. If it wasn't though - probably was - I wouldn't want to rush you into anything."
"Lance."
"You really don't have to sugar coat the rejection. I completely get i- mm."
Keith kissed him.

Keith! Kissed! Him!
When Keith pulled away Lance whined. It was amazing. Now there weren't any fire works like in fairytales but it was just as magical.
"I like you too. You already know that but I mean it." Lance smiled.
"Actually no I don't like you." Lance frowned. "Wait what?" Keith walked closer and grabbed Lance's hands.
"I love you." That did it. That set Lance's heart on fire. "I love you too." They both were smiling and as they leaned in for another kiss, the door burst open.
"YEA GET YO MAN!" Lance snapped his head towards the door and Keith leaned over so he could see.
"Pidge! You're ruining their moment!" Matt was trying to pull her away from the door while screaming and Shiro was in the back giving Keith a thumbs up.
