Note
HI.This is a Todobaku story, I wanted to make one just kinda out of the blue, but yeah, no quirk AU.(I really suck at captions and stuff, so bear with me here.)Uhm something I wanted to say, was that I really like HeartStopper (The web toon/T.V. Show) and I liked the small Flower shop AU, so I wanted to make something of my own that was based off that!

Chapter 1

The Morning sun was bleeding brightly in through the blinds, not tightly drawn, but not completely open either. The rays were dancing beautifully on the flower petals, sinking down to weave onto the floor. Katsuki’s shoes squeaked against the tiles as he hummed to himself quietly.

He was carrying a basket of different bouquets he had just arranged for a few of the costumers who would be coming into the shop to pick them up later today. He had been taking anger management sessions because of Mina and Izuku — his best friends at the moment. They had told him that he needed it, and after about a month of nagging, he gave in.

The guy he was working with was named Parker, he was an average looking guy, black hair and blue eyes, he was pretty nice. Wasn’t an asshole like quite a few people he had tried to go to therapy with in high school. He was pretty bad back then.

He had really, really gotten better since high school, he was like a different person. He hoped that other people were actually noticing that. He set the basket down on the table, sighing quietly to himself. He had a class with kids tomorrow, and was actually really excited to do it. He had to show them how to make flower crowns and put them on the children. Something Katsuki had also noticed is that he really liked kids, and really liked to play or hang out with them. He even considered being a babysitter in his middle school summer, as a part time job.

He looked around the shop, Mina and Jiro were chatting quietly in the corner of the small shop, probably about some guy they saw at the bar or something last night, that’s usually what they talked about amongst themselves. They both were dating people, but I guess, who doesn’t like to gossip?

Bakugo walked over to the pair of girls, wondering if they were talking about a guy. Maybe he was cute. The sun scattered across their figures, but Katsuki noticed that the yellow rays were quickly starting to dull. The news did say it might rain today, he was just hoping that it wouldn’t; He had to walk home today, and really didn’t feel like getting soaked. But thankfully, he did bring an umbrella to work.

“Hey, Kat’s! What’s up?” Mina asked happily, a smile quickly replacing the smirk she had on while talking with Mina.

Katsuki looked at her, raising his arms and stretching them out. “The fuck you talkin’ ‘bout over here?” Katsuki deadpanned, staring blankly at Mina and Jiro, he was quite bored now that he thought about it.

Mina and Jiro giggled quietly and shared a glance at each other before the pink haired woman replied. “We were just talking about this really cute guy we saw at the bar, he was actually really hot, we thought that maybe even you would like him.” Mina said, giggling with Jiro for a moment.

Katsuki sighed, then looked at Mina with one eyebrow raised and a frown plain as day on his face. “When will you two stop trying to set me up with stupid ass people?” Katsuki asked loudly, but continuing none the less. “If I really wanna date some ugly ass guy from the bar, i’d go to the bar.”

Mina and Jiro burst out laughing at Bakugo’s comment, leaving Bakugo to sigh annoyed again and look out the windows. There was rain falling, heavily now. He wondered if he should have just left the flowers alone instead of putting them In bouquets; the people who ordered them probably won’t come since it was raining.

He decided that he would go to the cafe side of the shop. To elaborate, there was a flower shop side of this building, and a cafe side. Bakugo, Mina, Jiro, Tsuyu, and Ochako all worked on the flower shop side of the building. Koda, Sato, and Deku— Izuku, all worked on the cafe side, there were a few cats on that side that they let out every once in a while to play with the costumers. Bakugo walked away from the girls, giving a short goodbye to them over his shoulder as he walked through the arched doorway to the cafe side.

“Oh, hi Kacchan!” Izuku yelled waving over at him to join the pair of boys next to a tabby cat by the name of Kim. Kim was Bakugo’s favorite cat, mainly because if always hated Izuku, but also because it was the one cat in the shop that didn’t beg everyone for pets or food (It also loved to play with Bakugo and ask him for pets.).

Sato gave a nod to Bakugo, who returned it back quickly. Bakugo actually liked Sato more than a lot of people; they both really enjoyed cooking and baking, adding to the fact that both got along well, Sato was chill with Bakugo and didn’t mind him when he was annoyed or rude. Bakugo really liked the fact that Sato was mainly quiet, only speaking up when needed or wanted during conversation.

“Kacchan, do you wanna pet Kim? She still won’t let me play with her.” Izuku pouted, showing Katsuki a scratch mark on his hand that Kim had given him earlier.

Kim really didn’t give Katsuki a choice, meowing as she slinked around his pant leg. Katsuki knelt down scratching underneath her chin and behind her ears. Izuku stared in silence with a small smile on his lips. “Wish she let me pet her like that.” Izuku pouted once again.

“Hah! She’d kill you if you actually pet her, look at what she did when you just fuckin’ tried to!” Katsuki laughed as he pointed to Izuku’s scratched hand. Deku looked at his hand at glared at Bakugo as the blonde boy kept laughing happily to himself.

“Kacchan!” Izuku whined, still glaring angrily at the taller boy. Then, Izuku gave Katsuki a smirk, making him stop laughing and go quiet. Izuku grinned as he came up with a comeback, most likely a horrible one, but a comeback nonetheless. “Cassy doesn’t let you pet her either!” Yup. Horrible comeback. Cassy was another one of the few cats they crept in the shop, it was an orange cat with a big black spot on its back, it loved to play with Izuku, but never Katsuki. The funny thing is, that Kim and Cassy were actually like best-cat-friends, whatever the fuck you’d call it.

Katsuki looked up at Izuku with a smirk on his face, he was starting to snicker again at the boy above him. “Izuku, I get the good cats, you get the bad ones. I’m just better at picking them out.” Katsuki replied with a smirk as Izuku made a dramatic gasp at his comment. They both started giggling together quietly just before Sato called Bakugo over.

Katsuki was glad he and Izuku had become better friends in high school, otherwise they would probably still be at each other’s throats right now. Katsuki streaked Kim a few more times before standing up quickly, walking over to Sato. “What do ya want?” Katsuki asked, looking up at Sato as he talked.

“I was just wondering if I should start adding this Praline Sauce on this cake. I tried it and liked it, but I need an outside opinion about it.” Sato supplied, giving Katsuki a half smile as he pulled out a small piece of vanilla cake with a dark brown sauce, pecans scattered on top of it. It looked good enough, so he decided he would try it. Also, he trusted Sato’s opinions, so if he said it was good, then there was a 99.9% chance it was.

He grabbed the spoon that was sat next to the plate and scooped up a small bit of it, closing his ruby eyes to focus on the flavors swelling in his mouth. He felt like Remi’s brother, Emile from Ratatouille, in that one scene where he was tasting the flavors of the cheese whenever he did this. (Which was more often than you’d expect. Sato made a lot of experimental sweets or dishes for the explosive blonde to try.)

He let the sauce melt onto his tongue, letting the sweetness fill his mouth as he tried to name the flavors. It was almost… homemade like his grandmother had whipped it up one Saturday night and put it on a piece of pie or ice cream for him to devour.
It also had a kind of candy-like taste to it, like he had had it before. Caramel. It tasted like caramel.

It was good.

Really good.

Katsuki would even argue, too good. Had Sato made this at home? Because that would be even more impressive, honestly.

He opened his eyes to find Sato smiling widely at him. Bakugo found that he was also smiling, and when he did, he instantly frowned. He didn’t like to smile at people, at least not often, and even if he did smile it was usually for a picture or fake. Like when he was giving a rude child a flower, or when he needed tips, so he pretended to smile politely.

“It’s good.” Katsuki grumbled as Sato beamed. The bigger man swiped the plate from Katsuki and quickly grabbed another spoon as he turned around the corner to have the freckled boy a few feet away from them to try the cake. Katsuki stood there for a moment.

He went to grab a plastic cup they kept next to the espresso machine and made a quick black coffee, they were his favorite kind. Then he walked out the cafe side of the building, sending another wave over his shoulder that he knew Sato and Izuku saw. He closed his eyes and leaned on the arched doorway as he closed his eyes and took a quick sip of his coffee.

He breathed out a sigh, not many people had come out today yet, but it still wasn’t late at all, just barely hitting around 2:00. The shop closed at around 8:30pm, so he still had a few hours to get more costumers.

Katsuki heard the bell ring on the front door of the flower-shop side. Looking back to his workplace, he quickly heard Ochako call for him to help the newest costumer. “Coming!” He yelled back, taking another quick sip of his coffee.

Katsuki turned the corner as he navigated his way through a short maze of shrubbery, flowers, and plants. He moved some of his hair out of his face to be greeted with a tall man. He had red and white hair, perfectly split in the middle, he also did not have an umbrella. Stupid. Bakugo walked up to the man just to see him shivering and- is this guy crying? The fuck happened to him? Bakugo decided to be nice and polite to the man. He usually wouldn’t, but something in his chest pushed him to ask the man what had happened.

“Uh… do ya want a cup of tea?” Bakugo asked quietly, the man finally meeting his eyes. He had one teal eye and the other was brown. He also had a massive scar covering almost a fourth of his face. What the hell happened to this guy? The fuck happened to his face?

The man’s brow loosened, Katsuki hadn’t even noticed that he was tense in the first place. “Yes please. That would be wonderful.” The man replied, he sounded like he was just about to start bawling right there on the spot. Katsuki did not want to deal with that right now.

He quickly left to the cafe side as the half-n’-half guy followed quietly behind. Bakugo motioned to one of the tables in the middle of the room as he crossed behind the counter. The man nodded back to him as he quickly sat down. Katsuki could feel the man’s gaze on him as he grabbed a cup, started boiling water, and grabbed a tea bag. Katsuki walked back over to the table after he had finished laying everything down and had put the tea kettle to heat up.

The man looked at Bakugo as he walked over. He still looked upset. Very upset. Katsuki couldn’t control his mouth before he blurted out his next sentence. “The fuck happened to you?”

The man looked alarmed and Katsuki could tell he didn’t really want to talk about it. “I..” the man trailed off, opening and closing his mouth as he hesitated to come up with an answer for the blonde boy beside him.

“My ex… he told me to go and get some flowers… for his wedding.” The man answered, quickly continuing. “He… called me this morning, and told me to grab a bouquet of flowers before I actually got there.” His voice was barely above a whisper. “He-“ The man got cut off quickly by Bakugo.

“GOD. He sound horrible. Firstly, what kind of extra invites their ex to their own fucking wedding?!” Katsuki almost yelled pulling on the man’s arm to lead him back to the other side of the store, almost making him spill the cup of tea all over himself. “And second of all, who the hell demands they get flowers for the wedding?!” Katsuki bellowed as he angrily, yet somehow delicately, grabbed flowers from their pots and pulled them together with a tight, red bow.

He handed them to the taller man, who just took them, albeit, surprised by the man. Katsuki blushed a bit before looking down to the ground and stuffing his hands in his pockets. Before explaining what he had just done.

“The red ones are called Geraniums, they mean stupidity.” He pointed to the small red flowers he had picked out. “The purple ones, as you should know, are basil… they mean hatred.” Katsuki moved his hand slightly to point to the purple in the ocean of flowers. “And the white ones, are meadowsweet. They mean uselessness.” Katsuki looked back at the candy-came looking boy.

He was smiling now, his face was almost dry. “So… you could say that they basically mean ‘Fuck you’ or ‘Fuck off’.” He finished, the bigger man was looking at him with soft eyes and a soft smile.

“Thank you. Thank you very much.” The man said, looking at Bakugo, contemplating something. “How much are they?” He asked, getting straight to the point.

Katsuki sighed. He might just take another quick break after this. “They’re free. Just get the fuck out.” Katsuki ended with a grumble as he shoved his hands back into his pockets once again.
