Road Trip Argument (Anarcia)
“Wow, so it’s my fault.” Anetra crossed her arms over her chest, glaring over at her best friend. Marcia was unfazed, glaring right back.
“It quite literally is your fault, yes! You’re the one who insisted your stupid bike could make it all the way to LA without stopping for gas. And now we’re stuck in the middle of nowhere desert with no phone service and we’re probably gonna get murdered the second night falls and it’s completely and entirely your fault.” She huffed out, kicking the tire of the offending bike just to get out some of the pent up frustration.
“Hey! Be careful, you’re gonna damage her frame,” Anetra snapped and Marcia barely held back her eye roll. How Anetra could worry about that at a time like this was beyond her.
“You’d better have a plan to get us out of here if you expect me to care about a hunk of metal.” She grumbled out, still glaring at the bike propped up on the side of the dusty road.
After a moment she felt a hand on her shoulder and glanced over to find Anetra had moved beside her. “Look… it was an accident, okay? I’m sorry. I can usually make the trip no problem. I just forgot to account for both of us. It’s only about a two mile walk to the nearest town, we can find a phone and call for a tow. We'll be out of here in no time."
Marcia was silent for a beat too long, and Anetra started to pull her hand away, before Marcia reached up to stop her from moving. "Fine, let's go. But i'm not forgiving you until we safely reach the hotel in LA."
Anetra let out a relieved laugh, squeezing her shoulder lightly, and Marcia leaned into the touch, her own anxiety about the situation melting away slightly with the contact. "You can stay mad as long as you need, as long as you forgive me in full eventually." She murmured. "Now come on. We should get going while theres still daylight."
