Chapter 6
Her lips were as soft as they looked. She tasted faintly of blood but mostly a strawberry lip oil. Her lips began to kiss her back and she felt a hand come up and brush the side of Wednesdays face. The kiss grew deeper and Wednesday felt her heart grow heavy. They had to stop for a moment to catch their breath, she felt her forehead rest on hers. Enid blew her breath, almost like a laugh, and met her eyes with Wednesdays. The brunette could tell she was nervous. She was bright red and pressed her lips into a thin smile, yet she was still able to hold the deep eye contact. Enid opened her mouth to say something but Wednesday spoke for her, "No questions, you need to rest. You have endured a plethora of events recently." She kissed her cheek, then her ear, then kissed her tenderly on her jaw. "You nearly petrified me. I was so scared I would never see you again." "I'm sorry Willa" she muttered softly, it's quite difficult to focus when your roommate was kissing the sensitive parts of your jawline. Wednesday stopped pressing kisses to look Enid sternly in the eyes. "Never apologize to me for things that are completely out of your control. Now rest. I'm going to go get us some breakfast, then we can talk." Once again, her lips found the girls. She could have stayed like that forever. Feeling Enid's lips push against her own was better than any drug known to man. Her lips were better than any high you could experience, and Wednesday was definitely already addicted. She pulled away and ran her fingers over the wolfs soft lips, They lingered there for a moment. She headed towards the door, feeling Enid's eyes on her. "Hey Winny." Wednesday turned around to meet the girls blue pools that seemed to be her eyes. "I'm glad it was you who saved me. I owe you the world, I hope you'll let me give it to you." "I would have done it over and over again. You've already given me the world by surviving, you are my world, Enid." Enid's hands flew to her face and she giggled like a maniac. The sight was too cute not to smile. She wanted to smother her in more kisses, but she really really needed to get some food. She slipped out the door and headed down to the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was filled with detectives and police. She tried to ignore it and headed over to a booth. She got a chocolate pastry and Enid pumpkin bread. She turned around to see a familiar sight. Weems was standing behind her with a relieved look on her face. Before she knew it, Her arms were wrapped around the short girls body. She allowed it for a moment, keeping her arms by her side with the food in both hands, then she pulled away. "I'm so glad you're okay Wednesday. You saved Enid. I am so incredibly proud of you." The praise made her uncomfortable, but she forced a smile and tried walking away with just a quick "Thank you." "I'm sure you two are just waking up, and want some time to recover, which I will allow. However, The chief of San Francisco Police Force will need to speak to both of you shortly." "Give us at minimum 2 hours. I don't want her injuring herself, and she needs time to process." "I can try, but no promises. They are....persistent." The raven nodded and headed back to the room. When she opened the door, she saw Enid trying to feel her wound from the knife. "Don't touch, Amore mio." She sat up straight in the bed when she saw Wednesday walk in. She set the pumpkin bread next to her. "make sure you eat, okay?" Enid smiled and began munching on the bread. "Thank you Wednesday. You're being very sweet. How's your shoulder feeling?" "I can barely feel it, I promise." "I'm really sorry you got hut because of me. I hope its a fast recovery." She can see the guilt flush over the wolfs face every time she once overs the claw marks on her face. "You don't need to blame yourself. I can tell you do. I had to protect you, Plus it brought me joy giving the bitch what she deserved." "I know.. I just feel really bad." Enid looked down in her lap and fiddled with the blankets. "Your face will probably scar, ya know? I just don't want you ever feeling bad about it... especially not because its from me." "Never. It's like you said.." Wednesday brings a finger to her own face and traces the cuts. "We match. You protected me with your life, as did I. We're now soul bonded and these marks are the living proof of that." Enid just smiled at that. It was so easy to make the girl red, which was surprising how outspoken and cheery she was. She loved that she is the only one who will get to see this side of her. The shy and easily flushed side. Wednesday sat at the end of Enid's bed and put her hand on her leg. "Okay, my love, are you ready to talk about what happened?" Enid bent down and pulled Wednesday's arm up towards her. She crawled into bed next to her and let Enid rest her head on her chest. "Not about Esther, not yet. A lot of bad things happened to me and the girls while I was in that shed." She heard her voice break. Wednesday brought her hand to Enid's hair and let it rest on her platinum hair. "Can we talk about something else instead? I'd like to talk about me and you." Enid said as she looked up to meet Wednesday's eyes. She looked just like a little puppy when she looked at her like that. "Of course, baby. What about us would you like to talk about." Wednesday knew that would make the girl blush, and surely enough it did. Enid shot her a goofy smile. "Welllll.. You're letting me touch you a lot and you're calling me cute names and well ya know.." The blondes cheeks were now a crimson red. It looked like she just ran miles. "I'm not sure I do know. What is it you're referring to, Mon cheri?" Enid threw her hand over her face with a slap. She nervously chuckled in her hand. "Come on you remember, you're being cruel." "Ahhh. You must be referencing our kiss?" Enid let out goofy chuckles when she heard Wednesday, hand still plastered to her face. Wednesday had to peel her hand off of her face to look her in the eyes. "I guess I'd just like to know like.. is this a one time kind of thing or... because I mean you know how important relationships are to me so I just wanted to establish it right away but if you don't want anything more and this was just like in the moment type of situation that is totally okay with me and obviously I'd never tell anyone I know you're more private and I appreciate that you have been so kind but like I said this really do-" "Enid, honey you need to breath." Wednesday said with a laugh. "Right, guess that's kinda important." " I would be honored if you would allow me to court you. This would never be a one time kind of thing. I've cared for you deeply for a very long time now. In fact the day you went missing was the same day I was planning on making my interest apparent." "So like court me... like girlfriend??" "Yes, like girlfriend." Enid giggled and kicked her feet. "Sure thing, girlfriend." She got reached up to kiss the goth on the lips. They fit together perfectly, like the 2 last pieces of a 1000 piece puzzle. The kiss lasted a while, and when they pulled away Enid had Wednesday's berry colored lipstick smeared on her lips. Wednesday licked her lips and could taste the familiar strawberry lip oil. The moment was quickly broken when the Chief of police entered the room without a knock. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Weems but I can't wait any longer. I have a job to do."
"Enid Sinclair, a few detectives and myself will need to speak with you privately now." Wednesday felt a hand tighten around her shirt. "Can't you give us a little longer? It's just that it like just happened ya know?" Her grip tightened around her shirt and tears formed in her eyes and immediately began silently streaming down her face. Wednesday placed a hand on her back to calm her down. "If you must speak with her then I'm coming with. That's the only way I'll allow you to see her." "That's not happening. If she doesn't get up now then we will be forced to take her by force." Wednesday's faced had no emotion as she got up and approached the police. She whispered something to him that was completely inaudible to everyone else in the room. His eyes grew with fear by the time she was done. "Alright, you both can come. However, at some point I will need a statement from just you, Mrs. Sinclair. I will also need a private statement with you as well, Addams." Enid nodded her head and carefully got up to follow the man out. Thankfully, the stab wound missed everything major so she was able to walk fine. "Hey, put this on. I brought it with me when I was leaving Nevermore. I figure its better than just your hospital gown." Wednesday handed her the wolf's pink sweatshirt. Enid smiled at her and Wednesday helped her into it. "What would I ever do without you?" Enid said and gave her a quick peck. The police men and Weems were waiting for them outside the room. "It's good to see you up and well, dear." Weems said to Enid. "Thank you so much Mrs. Weems. You and Wednesday saved my life." Weems put her hand on her back as they walked. The second they exited the hospital doors, they were swarmed with flashes from cameras and press asking the girls a million questions. Wednesday looked over to Enid, who was panicking from all the attention. "What did your mother do to you and the women." "Is it true you killed her mother??" "How do you feel knowing your own roommate killed your mother?" "Do you feel safe around your roommate?" The questions were infuriating her, but Wednesday was more focused on her girlfriend. She brought her hand to her mouth and kissed her knuckles, trying to sooth her nerves. When they got to the police car, Enid let out a loud sob. "Let it out honey. It's gonna be okay. I'm here to protect you." Wednesday whispered in her ear. The cop started the car and they were making their way to the station to hear about exactly why Esther held Enid and the girls in the building and what happened to her while she was there.
