T.K. P.O.V
I woke up multiple times this night. Buck got up every time and helped me to the bathroom, got me painkillers, an ice bag. I'm so thankful that he's there for me. I look at my phone. It's almost 9. Carlos texted me. Buck is asleep. I put in my headphones and call Carlos via FaceTime.
T.K.: hey *smiles* merry Christmas
Carlos: merry Christmas *smiles* how was your night? Everything okay?
T.K: it was okay...Buck helped me a lot...I want to do something for him but I don't know what. *sighs*
Carlos: when you are back on your feet again then we can think about something. Now you need to get back on your feet again. When is your physiotherapy today?
T.K: it's Christmas. I don't have Physiotherapy today. I have it tomorrow. I'm glad to have a break right now.
Carlos: i totally believe that. So tell me. What happened with your dad yesterday?
T.K: it's just...he really said that I was home alone so often and that its no problem...Carlos when I was in the hospital he visited me 30minutes a day...Buck was longer at the hospital. Gosh. He called me so many times this night. I don't want to talk to him. I don't want to see him. It was so embarrassing yesterday...I tried to make pizza and the plate fell down and broke...then I needed to go to the toilet and yeah turns out I can't go alone...I peed myself *sighs* this was so embarrassing...
Carlos: it's normal That you need help at the Moment. I wish I could help you. I miss U
T.K: I miss you too *hears Carlos mother in the background* I think you need to go *smiles softly*
Carlos: yeah sorry...I'll call you later okay? *smiles* love you
T.K: love you too *smiles and hangs up*
Buck: Morning *smiles*
T.K: Morning. Merry Christmas *smiles*
Buck: merry Christmas. *smiles* you hungry?
T.K: yeah *laughs*
Buck: then let's go. *smiles and gets up* oh your phone is ringing.
T.K: it's just my dad. Again. I'll turn my phone off. It's Christmas and I don't want to use it today. Let's go
I grab the crutches and we walk downstairs. Maddie already prepared breakfast. We eat breakfast together. After that I take my bag and pull out two little packages.
T.K: it's not much but I have something for you two. To say thank you. *smiles*
Maddie: gosh T.K you're crazy *smiles* thank you
Buck: thank you *smiles* you didn't have to do that
T.K: but I wanted too. *smiles*
Maddie: I got you a small gift too *smiles* you can't sit here with us without any gifts *smiles*
T.K: Maddie you didn't have to get me a present.
Maddie: *smiles* just open it. It's Christmas.
Buck: one question Maddie *laughs* where's your boyfriend? I really want to meet him.
Maddie: he needed to work until this morning. I invited him for dinner.
T.K: thank you so much Maddie *smiles* it really means a lot
Maddie: I have to thank you. It's beautiful *smiles*
We play some games together. I decide to sleep a little bit before we eat dinner. Buck is helping Maddie in the kitchen. My phone is still turned off. I am able to sleep almost 4 hours until Buck wakes me up.
Buck: come on. Time to get up *smiles* dinner in ready in 20min and the mysterious boyfriend arrives soon *grins* can't wait to meet him
T.K: I'm sorry that I interrupt your Family dinner..
Buck: its fine. I like having you around. Now come on. *smiles*
He helps me to change clothes and we go downstairs. I sit down and put my leg on another chair. The doorbell rings. Maddie opens the door and gives a kiss to a man. They come inside the dining room.
Maddie: Buck this is Chimney. *smiles* Chimney this is my brother Buck and his best friend T.K. He's staying here for a few days because his dad is at work.
Chimney: hey *smiles* you look familiar to me. Who's your dad?
T.K: Owen Strand. He's captain of a firehouse here in La. I think it's the 118 or something like that
Chimney: oh yeah I worked with him yesterday because my captain is sick. He's cool *smiles*
T.K: yeah *sighs annoyed* can we change topic?
Maddie: of course. Dinner is ready in 5 minutes.
It was a nice evening. We talk about work and school and different stuff. After a few hours I go upstairs again. I want to check my phone and go to bed. I turn my phone on and see a lot of missed calls. Most of them are from dad. A few are from Carlos. Oh my gosh I forgot that he wanted to call me...now it's too late...it's almost 2 in São Paulo. I sigh and go to bed.
Next Morning Maddie wakes me up. I don't want to get up. I slept horrible and I just want to stay here. I pull the blanket over my head.
T.K: no please. I don't want to get up.
Maddie: you have to. You have physiotherapy in 40 minutes.
T.K: no...it hurts...i don't want to go.
Maddie: you have to. Come on. I'll wake up Buck so he can help you to change clothes. It's your privacy.
T.K: thanks *smiles*
Maddie: Buck come on get up.
Buck: no I'm tired and on vacation. Let me sleep
Maddie: just help your friend to change pants. Please. After that you can go back to sleep.
Buck: fine *sighs*
He helps me to change and goes back to sleep after that. We drive to physiotherapy and after that back to their house. A car is parking in front of it. I know this car. It's my dads car. Oh no.
Owen: there you are. Buck said you are gone. Come on let's go home
T.K: *laughs annoyed* no.
Owen: T.K. Lets Go home. Now.
T.K: i will not go home with you. I'll stay here. You are at work again tomorrow and then I'm alone again. I'm not able to be alone right now. You are leaving me alone permanently. I don't need That. You can go now.
Owen: T.K what do you want to say.
T.K: That you are a bad dad! You leave me alone the whole time! You are always at work. Work work work. Always work. What about me? What about me? Sure I can be alone but right now I can't. The day of the surgery I needed you. I needed you so much and you weren't there. Carlos was there. Buck was there. Eddie couldn't be there but if it was possible he would have been there. And you? You came for 20 minutes after surgery. Wow thanks for that dad. I'll stay here until I'm better. Or maybe at Carlos house when he's back. We will see. I will not come home. Have a nice Christmas dad.
Before he can say anything I go inside. I lay down on the couch and sigh. I hate it. I hate it. I hate this situation. Normally I would go on a run now or go to the fitness center but yeah. Not possible right now. I scream into a pillow.
T.K: don't say anything Buck. I know what you want to say. *sighs*
Buck: it's okay. You know how my relationship with my parents is so. I understand you. You wanna play some video games?
T.K: sure *laughs* lets go
Lets see how long I'll stay here. I need to get new clothes tomorrow. Buck will drive me. My dad is not home tomorrow. That's good. I miss Carlos.
