Your Average Day in NY With Godly Fights, Robot Births and Hot Dogs

2015

Swiss Alps, Switzerland

A pair of heeled combat boots made a soft thud on the grass as a woman landed on her feet like a cat, brown eyes scanning the area. Long dark hair fell down past her shoulders, wearing a black velvet dress with organza sleeves. An amethyst moon necklace hung from her neck as well as matching earrings. She looked like she was about to turn into a bat and fly to the moon.

Not so different from that teenage girl four years ago, eh? Well, not really. If she had stayed in Sokovia, she might've ended up yelling at the protests that were still going on, stayed in a country that was torn apart by a civil war Matthew Patrick ignited with his weapons.

Weapons he stopped producing after the Americans got hurt, he got hurt. Not giving a second thought at the damage he made when he killed her parents and hundreds, if not thousands of Sokovian lives. Coward.

Instead of demanding change, she could change it herself just by possessing a power that could tear people apart from the inside.

"Look who's finally arrived," a voice drawled and she whirled around, eyes narrowing to slits. Her brother leaned against a tree, no doubt waiting for her to arrive because he didn't wait for her like the douchebag he was.

Jc had changed too, perhaps more than she did. At least physically. His mop of a head was blond and curly now, unlike her dark and straight locks. He got tattoos too, lots of them. And a bit of a tan surprisingly. He kept it casual with his black t-shirt and red sweatpants and white sneakers.  "Just because you can run fast now and be the dollar store version of Flash does not mean you can be obnoxious about it, Justin."

"If I'm the dollar store Flash, you're the dollar store Rachel Roth!" Jc flung back, approaching her.

The telekinetic put her hands on her hips, scowling. "Hey, Rachel is actually cool. Flash is not."

He folded his arms, mocking her expression. "Who's the obnoxious one now, huh?" The twin stuck her tongue out at him and he did it right back. Very mature, they're both well aware of that. She groaned, glancing over to Jc with a sour look. Her eyes widened exponentially, though, when she spotted someone coming up from behind her.

"Jc!" she hissed. His eyes widened as he spun around, only to get shot at. Safiya screamed, recoiling backwards as Jc fell to the ground, a bullet wound in her stomach.

"Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t!"the woman hissed, stumbling backwards as the man advanced toward her.Lifting her hands to use her powers, she was about to throw the man backward, when something hit her in the back of the head. Hard. Safiya crumpled at once, her hands flying to her head with a cry of pain, feeling blood underneath her fingers.

"Safiya. Run." Jc gritted, struggling to pull himself up. "You're hilarious if you think I'm leaving you behind," Safiya countered before all she could see was darkness.

New York City, USA

Roi had just gotten off the subway stop and bought a hot dog, whistling merrily while munching on his hot dog.

The period of tranquility didn't last very long. It was always like this when he was just trying to enjoy life and have a good time.

The cons of being a superhero. You never get peace and quiet. That's not in a superhero's vocabulary.

A beam of light appeared, and out walked a very angry looking man in a leather from head to toe, consisting of the colors gold, green and black.

A gold headpiece with horns sat upon his black hair, glistening in the afternoon sun. In his hand, he held a gold scepter with a deadly sharp silver end. There was a blue egg-shapped gem holding the two ends together.

Roi sighed, assuming it was a bad guy. He looked down at his hot dog and said, "I'm sorry, hot dog."

He tossed it in the trash can that was conveniently a few feet next to him and started running into the empty alleyway, pulling out his Spiderman mask from his bag.

"Here we go again," he murmured.

"Bretman, what the heck are you doing on Earth?" Andrea hissed, following the god of Mischief. "You never come here!"

"That is none of your concern. Stop following me."

She pulled out her sword and held it to his neck, blue cape flowing behind her. "I don't think so. Not until you tell me what you're up to."

"If I tell you, you're going to be an annoying pesk about it."

"Which is why you shouldn't do it!" she snapped, digging the sword deeper into his neck.

"You're not the boss of me-" Something slammed into Bretman, knocking him onto the ground. The Valkyrie blinked, not sure of what just happened.

Then she saw a masked man in a red and blue spideresque suit stand in front of her, Bretman wrapped in webs, stuck on the ground.

His scepter was still within his grasp. "Hiya there! I'm Spider-Man."

Before she could answer, Bretman broke free from his cocoon and leapt onto his feet.

"Uh oh," Spider-Man squeaked, fully aware that he pissed the god off. "You little-" Bretman began, the blue gem glowing. Andrea lunged to maim him.

All of a sudden, lightning struck the area.

"What the-" Spider-Man started, a little freaked out. He looked around, wondering where the lightning came from.

There wasn't a single cloud in the sky. The sky was as clear and blue as it could be. So why was there thunder-

A hammer came flying down, smacking Bretman in the head, making him collapse and black out.

"What is this, 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs' but with hammers?" The human asked, then looked at the unconscious body on the ground. "At least he's taken out."

A man in black and gold armor with a billowing red cape came flying down, picking up the hammer.

"Whoa," commented the Earthling.

"Impressive, huh?" the god of Thunder said, tossing Mjonir in the air and catching it again. "The name's Oli, god of Thunder, Prince of Asgard and future ruler of the Nine Realms. And you are?"

"Spider-man."

Oli looked at Andrea. "Insects protect Earth now? Time really has flown. I remember when the Romans were running about, sparring with each other."

"Felt like yesterday, doesn't it? Now it's the twenty-first century," Andrea agreed.

"Huh? The Romans were here a thousand years ago. How would you remember that?" Spider-Man asked, confused.

"Like I said, I'm the god of Lightning."

Spider-Man burst out laughing then noticed the serious look on Oli and Andrea's faces. "Wait, you're serious? I thought it was a joke."

"I forget these mortals don't believe Norse mythology is real," Andrea muttered to Oli, who gave her a look of 'Let me handle the spider human '.

"I wasn't joking, kid."

"So...you're a god? The god of Thunder?"

Oli nodded. "Yes."

"So is she a goddess?" He pointed at Andrea. "No, she's a Valkyrie."

The man in the blue and red suit tilted his head."What's that?"

"Asgard's fiercest warriors. All women by the way. I hear Earth is all about 'woman empowerment' now."

"Where's Asgard?"

"You certainly ask a lot of questions for an insect," Andrea sighed, sheathing her sword.

He flinched at the jibe. "Well sorry, it's not everyday Earth gets invaders from another planet. Actually, that never happens."

"We would answer your questions, but we kind of have to take care of something," Oli said, referring to the still-unconscious Bretman.

"Oh sorry! It's just... I'm curious."

"Well, curiosity killed the cat-" Andrea began and Oli elbowed her. "Leave him alone, Andrea. He's overwhelmed. As all mortals would be if they meet a god they didn't know existed.Though this one didn't ask for an autograph."

Andrea pursed her lips and kept quiet. Oli turned back to the mortal. "Well, since I took care of this for you, can you do me a favor?"

"Of course! What is it?"

Oli picked up the scepter from the ground, handing it to him. "You seem like a good kid. Take care of this for me. Don't let it get in the wrong hands. Infinity Stones are very dangerous, Spider-Man."

He took it from the god of Lightning. "I will. And actually, my name is Roi. Spider-Man is my made-up name."

"Thank you, Roi. Until we meet again."

The Asgardians left the Earthling with many questions, all to be answered in time.

Manhattan

~~~
"Just another day running a billionaire company," Matt said in a sing-song voice, sipping from his mug of Diet Coke.
Setting it down, he immediately got to work on his latest project.
An android who possessed a synthetic body made from vibrainium.
Why you may ask?
Because he was lonely and didn't have any friends, so why not make an artificial one?
Kidding, he has friends and socializes with people, but often times hates socializing, but has to socialize because he's the CEO of Patrick Industries, a defense company that develops and manufacturers developed weapons and military technologies.
The real reason is that he needs someone to do his research while he's off in some faraway land and doesn't trust a human to do it, so an android is clearly the best alternative...right?
He trusted the robot anyway, this robot was going to be J.A.R.V.I.S after all. He knew J.A.R.V.I.S, this was his own creation. The robot wouldn't get corrupted.
Working on the finishing touches, Matt suddenly heard a crash and whipped around, immediately, arming himself with a rocket arm.
"Who the hell is here?" Matt shouted, arm held up to blast someone to outer space.
"J-just me, M-mr. Patrick?" Roi stammered, coming in throw the window, dressed in his Spiderman costume. Matt gave him a confused look. "You know there's a door right?"
"Yeah, but windows are way more fun."
Matt blinked and disarmed himself. "By the way, call me Matt. Pretty sure we've established that. Multiple times."
Roi planted his feet to the ground and nodded. "Sorry, it's just a habit, Mr- I mean, Matt."
"What brings you here to Manhattan? You live in Queens and it's pretty late. Shouldn't you be at home?" Matt arched an eyebrow, wondering why he broke in without warning.
Or broke in at all for that matter, but better him than you know... a serial killer.
"I wanted to bring this scepter to you because I figured you might want to do research on it. Doesn't seem like something from Earth."
Matt gave him a curious look, putting a hand on his chin. "How did you get it if it's not from Earth?"
Roi leapt into the story of how he obtained it. "I stole this scepter from this weird-looking dude who looked pissed off and wanted to destroy New York-"
"You-you stole it-"
"Let me finish. So he was about to start destroying New York, but my spidey-senses had kicked in so I was there before he could start and I started fighting him. Apparently he's some god of Mischief and so I stole it. Then, all of a sudden, lightening started showing up out of nowhere even though it wasn't predicted to rain and then this dude with a hammer just flew down from the sky. He had a sidekick with him who was some badass warrior. Anyway, so I took the scepter and came here to you."
"They let you take it?"
"Hammer Guy did. I told him I was just friendly neighborhood Spiderman. He seemed to trust me and told me to bring it to somewhere safe. Said that they couldn't have another thing called an 'Infinity Stone' on Asgard, whatever that is. So I brought it to you."
Matt looked at Roi as if he just committed first degree murder. "What the actual hell, Roi-"
"I don't know, Matt. It's been a weird day today. I don't even know what that thing really is."
The two stared at the strange scepter with a yellow stone. "Huh..." Matt set it on one of the tables in his lab. Then he looked at the robot he was creating and got an idea. "We may not know what this thing is, but what if I added the stone to the robot? Wouldn't it absorb the information since the stone would be a part of it?"
Roi looked unsure of his idea. "Are you sure that's a good idea, Matt? This thing seems dangerous."
"You know I thrive off danger. It's practically my middle name. What's the worse thing that could happen?"
"A lot could go wrong with this. I don't think you should do it." Matt ignored him completely and started powering up his machines, fingers flying over the control panels. Roi sighed, but didn't do anything to stop him.
Stephanie chose this moment to burst into his lab. "You have got to be kidding me," she groaned, approaching her boyfriend. "You're really still working on that android? It's getting late, Matt, we should head home." She saw Roi standing in the corner. "Oh hey Roi."
He waved to Stephanie and she gave him a small smile before scowling at her husband, linking arms with him. "Come on. Take a break. You can work on it in the morning."
"I'm almost done," he murmured, not even glancing in her direction. She sighed, shoulders sagging and unlinked her arm from his. Then her eyes landed on the strange scepter and pointed at it. "What's that? Matt, you better not be experimenting again. You know you can't stop doing things like this. One day, it's all going to go wrong and bite you in the ass."
"But it hasn't and it won't, Steph," he assured her, kissing her on the head and going back to uploading J.A.R.V.I.S into the android. She rolled her eyes and frowned. "What's your plan with that anyway? Mount it on a wall?"
"Use it for the android." Her mouth fell open. "You're giving an android a scepter-"
"No, I'm taking the stone in the scepter and giving it to the android." Her eyes narrowed. "Why? It's just a stone."
She walked towards the scepter, about to touch the stone. "I wouldn't touch it if I were you," Oli warned and she spun on her heel. "Why not? It's just a stone."
"It's no ordinary stone. There's something unique about it. Called an 'Infinity Stone'."
"Infinity Stone? What's that?" She furrowed her eyebrows, trying to figure out what that was. Matt finished uploading J.A.R.V.I.S and was getting ready to add the final touches. The stone.
"About to find out," Matt answered, approaching the scepter and grabbed it. "Matt no."
"I'm doing it."
Stephanie and Roi groaned loudly, shaking their heads. The former grabbed the scepter, holding it as well. Her husband tried to wrench it out of her grasp, but she only tightened her grip. "Matthew... I'm serious... don't do it. We don't know anything about it!"
"That's exactly why I'm adding it to the android. So we can learn what it is and not let it get into the wrong hands if it is as dangerous as we think it is."
He wrenched it out of her hands and Stephanie pursed her lips, crossing her arms. "You're cleaning the mess yourself if this goes badly."
She stormed out and slammed the door behind her. "Now I see why Stephanie doesn't like coming around here," Roi remarked and Matt glared at him, continuing to work on his android. "Be quiet, Spiderling."
