Chapter 1
We all feared a little of what was to come when it came to what the future held. So much has happened as time has gone past us. I was there through most of it. The beginning, all the way to the supposed end, and then… the wedding. Somehow, we made it here, from the beginning to this strange end. Sherlock had married William. It was a surprise to all of us really, especially Louis, who just happened to despise Sherlock. He believed him to always get in the way of the three brothers plans, and I couldn’t help, but describe the brothers as… very over protective of each other. It was around the time of the wedding that I made an agreement with them, I never thought I would ever agree with the lord of crimes associates, let alone see one of my best friends get married to the lord of crime himself, but that day was quite the surprise. A day that would change everything.
You see to understand this agreement you would have to understand Sherlock and William themselves. If you have read my other tales, though I believe that this specific script will never really make it to the public unlike my other tales, you would know the two already. If you happen to find this tale in my files… I would say you’re reading this in the future, perhaps you’re my future children in which case, I would trust you to do the smart thing with this story. Continuing on, it’s hard to say that Sherlock and William were never born to meet. They are both quite brilliant in their own ways. One was an arrogant detective whose whole entertainment derived from any sort of mystery he could solve. The other was a puppeteer. A cunning chess master who wanted to recreate the world in his own image. Given all the information it might have been easy for one of them to deduce what exactly this deal was about.
“Watson! We’re quite happy you could come. After all a wedding without one of the best men is really quite the predicament.”
I turned my head glancing over to the eldest of the brothers, Albert who tipped his hat curtly at me as he spoke, “Of course, despite our two groups many differences, I couldn’t quite leave Sherlock in the dark after all…”
“Yes… I would assume you would say something like that, but I’m afraid its exactly what I wanted to hear. After all we’ve put our differences aside for this one moment, why not put them aside a little longer, within reason of course,”
I pause glancing back over to the other after I stole a quick glance at the happy couple, “What exactly are you suggesting Moriarty?”
“Simple. We both know these two’s personalities more than anyone else. Simply put… It would be for the best for all of humanity as we know it… if these two never reproduce.”
I stood in shock for a moment before giving myself some time to think about the proposal. Yes. I could see where they come from. Perhaps it’s the idea in their heads that they wouldn’t exactly want to deal with a little Sherlock running around, and it was in my own that a murderous ideology like William’s would be quite difficult to deal with. Then of course there would be that such impossible probability that the children would be a tiny mix of both of them, which in all honesty might just end all life as we know it. This after all would be quite problematic for the both of us… after all the heinous things the three boys have done he knew them better than to assume they wanted everyone in humanity dead. It was quite this thought of reasoning that led me to accept this condition and agree to stop Sherlock and his husband William from reproducing at all possible cost.
This of course went well. That is at first, but I suppose it was only a matter of time before the two caught onto what we were doing, and their eventual baby fever became to much for the three of us to manage. They ended up having intercourse when each of the three of us had other matters to attend to. For myself it was watching over the son I had with Mary. For Albert, he had a date with Mycroft. Louis, the ever kind soul got caught up on a wild goose chase all deployed by William himself after he requested a specific item. Now none of us knew what occurred that day until it was too late. William was expecting and the two could no longer hide it.
It was a difficult, but quiet nine months. There were no cases, at least none that Sherlock could quite focus on as well as he would before the whole incident. Not like there were any cases that caught his eye in the first place with the lord of crime on the back burner. Though what surprised me was the interest he took in myself through questions about my life with Mary.
“What is it like?” Sherlock’s brow furrows as he sits on his sofa in the classic thinking pose.
“What is what like?” My brow furrows, not quite sure what he means.
“What is it like to be a father?” Sherlock shuffles frowning a little.
“I don’t say- Are you worried about it? I can’t remember the last time you were worried about something. Haven’t you thought about this when you well-“
“Just answer the question please,” Sherlock sighs.
“It’s hard, but worth it, to see someone you made grow up and learn is one of the most beautiful things this life could offer,” I pause before adding the last part, “I can not say your child will be as easy to raise as my Jacob though.”
“I know of that fully well,” Sherlock sighs, “After all it is London’s greatest detective and the crime lord’s child… but, I honestly cannot wait to meet them. It’s strange. I’ve only felt this flustered the day of my wedding.”
I shake my head, “Sherlock, I dare say it is too late to possibly have second thoughts, but I can’t help but wonder if you really thought this out fully before you did it, after all you would have to protect them from your two’s many enemies. Are you ready to give your everything to this child?”
Sherlock looks back at me with that same confidence he would have while solving a case, “I would give my life for this child and my husband,”
Later I would find out how true with this conviction he possibly was. Both him and William would risk it all for the family they would soon create. It’s a true love that even had me finally admit that maybe this family is quite really what the world needed right now.
The birth itself was a surprise to certainly all of us who were waiting. Especially for the ones who witnessed it first and like Sherlock, and myself who was helping to deliver the baby with James Bonde in complete secrecy from most of the outside world. My eyes widen when I finally realized the situation. William was giving birth to twins.
When they came out it was hard to tell if they were even related, let alone twins. The female had what it would seem to be light hair while the brothers was dark. The only thing that kept them looking like each other would be the pale skin, the same face shape, and of course… the eyes. Heterochromia with red and blue eyes, except for each twin the eyes would switch, the boy having a left blue eye while the girl had the left eye being red. Honestly, I couldn’t quite explain it, but I never had witnessed children quite like these ones.
I handed the children to William who looked at them with wonder in his eyes I didn’t quite expect from the lord of crime. He held them close with tears in his eyes before looking up to Sherlock. Sherlock looked like a fish out of water, especially when the girl looked over to him and opened up her arms for Sherlock to hold her. William chuckles and hands the girl over to Sherlock as she gripped onto his messy shirt and coat.
I never quite thought I would see this day, but here I was, helping my best friend and his husband receive the children that me and the brothers had worked so hard to avoid. I decided that I wouldn’t stop this outcome even if I could go back in time.
