Come Along with Me
“See, aren’t you glad you’re with me right now?” Marceline asked.
“Yeah, yeah, I guess I am,” I giggled a little bit, and Marceline looked at me with a warm smile on her face.
I looked over and caught her staring. “What?” I asked. She placed her hand on my cheek, leaned in, and placed her lips on mine, and gave me the most tender kiss I ever had with her.
Okay, I’ll explain how all this is happening…
The Gum Wars
I was getting attacked by this one monster and I was trying to use my powers to destroy it, but it wasn’t enough, so it pretty much smashed me. Luckily I had my gum shield, but I did pass out for a moment. Apparently Marceline saw what happened and she was angry. And when I mean angry, I mean she turned into like a giant beast like the vampire king did, kind of angry.
She took down that one beast like it was nothing! Like she just smashed it and it turned into mush. She changed back to herself and I just didn’t know how to thank her. But I called her name and she flew down to me so fast that she hugged me tightly and explained how she was worried how something bad would happen to me even though we stopped talking. And my brian just exploded. I couldn’t even get my words right.
“Hey, I’m a tough gum. Nothing never happening to me, never.” That was embarrassing, but you’ll see why I said it like that.
“I know, I- girl you phrased that so weird.” She smirked as she had one eyebrow raised. “I may have a concussion.” I told her. We both laughed, then she leaned in and kissed me. Kissed. Me. That- that was something I was not expecting. Marceline. Kissing me. Like she used to. I had no idea she still had feelings for me after all these years. I felt...happy again. Like I had finally felt my whole self after all these years.

After the whole Gum Wars, Marceline and I sat down and talked. I was nervous, of course, but it was really important we did this. We needed to talk about our relationship.
“OK, you know I’m not the one to actually sit and talk with someone. Especially if they’re sitting across the table,” I chuckled a bit, “but I think we should talk about our relationship.” I nodded in agreement.
“Uhm, glob how do I start this..?” She thought and thought, but I ended up talking first. “Marceline, if you’re wondering, I do still have feelings for you. After we became friends again, you were in my head so much to the point where I thought about you all the time and even wore the shirt you gave me again. I thought it would have been bad to start crushing on you again, but it was honestly a good thing. Because after you kissed me, I thought you didn’t have feelings for me again. But I’m just so happy that we had experienced that again. It made me feel whole again. Like I found my real potential, like...I found a whole new you.” She admired me, I could see her blush a little, with a bit of tears in her eyes.
“OK, forget this.” She got up from the table and grabbed my hand and took me outside. “Marcy, where are we going?” I asked as I chuckled a bit, a bit surprised by what she was doing. “You’ll see! Hold on tight, Peebs!” She yelled, I reacted quickly and held on tight to her waist.
She started to fly up in the air as she held onto me tight. “Marcy!”
“It’s okay, Peebs. You’re safe,” she smiled softly towards me. I just blushed and smiled back. She took us up to a beautiful spot where we could watch the sunset. I had my head nuzzled on her chest, and when she stopped, I looked up to see the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen. I was so admired. Marceline knew I loved sunsets, and she just made this perfect, more than perfect even.
“Do you like it?” She asked me.
“Are you kidding? I love it!”
“I’m so glad.” She was smiling again, and blushing, and I noticed it too.
“Why did you do this?” I asked curiously.
“I wanted to do something special for you, after you talked about how much you pretty much really like me.” She chuckled. I blushed and looked away.
“It’s true though.” I made the risky move; while she still held on to me tightly, I placed one of my hands on her cheeks, leaned in, and kissed her. I could feel her kissing back, and it felt like nothing I’ve ever felt before.
I parted from the kiss, and her face was in a bit of shock. I giggled a bit, and then as she sat there and blushed, she started to laugh a bit too.
“You know, I don’t think I’ve ever loved you more than I ever have now.” I told her as I kept watching the sunset.
“Wait, you love me?”
I realized what I said and started to panic while blushing. “I- I mean, like, what I do mean is-”
She kissed me again. Which caught me so off guard.
“Bonnie,” she looked me straight in the eyes with the most cutest smile ever, “I love you too.”
I started to tear up, and next thing I know, I’m hugging her so tightly that I start to cry on her shoulder. And she’s there, she’s actually right there, caressing my back, trying to help me feel better, glob she’s so sweet.
“Marceline..” I ask, my voice hoarse because of my crying. “Yeah?”
“Can we get back together?” I ask, “please..?”
She stopped caressing my back for a minute, and I looked up to her and saw yet another shocked expression on her face. Glob did I say the wrong thing? Did I ask her at the wrong time? Maybe I should tell her nevermi-
“Yes.”
Yes. “W- what?”
“Yes. I’ll get back together with you. I miss you, Bonnie. And I’ll keep missing you if we aren’t back together at all. I want you in my life, Bonnibel. I want you as my girlfriend, I don’t want you to leave again.”
I started to tear up again. And just hugged her.

Marceline flew us back down and we went back inside her house. We decided to do a movie night together. She heated up some popcorn and got the couch all comfortable; a bunch of pillows and a couple of blankets.
We shared our bowl of popcorn and just placed it on the floor afterwards because neither of us felt like getting up. We then cuddled as we watched the rest of the movie. Both of us tried so hard not to fall asleep during it, and surprisingly, it didn’t happen.
“Wow, what a good movie.” Marceline admitted.
“Did you say you didn’t like that movie before?”
“Yeah but a while ago I rewatched it and I pretty much liked it.”
“Hmm okay. But, this is nice. I love doing this kind of stuff with you.” I told her as I nuzzled my head on her chest for a few seconds.
I placed both of my hands on her cheeks then started to deepen the kiss. Where at this point, we were making out. Yes. Making out. I placed my hands on Marceline’s hips as she sat up a little, taking me with her as she still held onto me.
We had made out for a good 20-30 minutes before we started to get a bit tired, and our kisses were becoming less tender and more sloppy. “Marcy, I’m starting to get a bit tired.”
“Yeah I noticed when our kisses were getting sloppy.” I chuckled a bit, sat up, and took out my hand for Marcy to take. We went upstairs and I practically jumped on her bed belly-flop style.
“Wow, nice one, P.B.” Marceline said sarcastically.
“Thanks.” I said cheerfully. Then laid down and got all comfy, pulling the covers over me. “Hey, don’t get all comfy without me!” Marceline yelled, “too late! I’m very comfortable. Hmm, you can sleep on the floor.” I smiled, then Marceline went to the edge of the bed and went under the covers and squirmed her way to where I was.
“Hey!” I yelled. “Ahh, that’s better.” Marceline said as she laid right on top of me. “Get off of me!” I yelled, but it muffled through Marceline’s shirt.
“Ok fine.”
She laid right next to me with her arms wrapped around me and her chin resting on my head. “Mmm, I’m getting sleepy.” She told me softly, and I just blushed at how adorable she sounded right now. So as I felt myself also getting sleepy, I wrapped my arms around Marceline’s waist and, once again, nuzzled my head against Marcy’s chest, feeling safe, warm, comfortable, and loved.
“I love you Marcy.” I whispered, wondering if she could hear me.
“I love you too, Bonnie.”
I smiled. Feeling like I would never lose her again, I didn’t want to lose her again. She made me whole again, and I didn’t know how to thank her for that. Even though we’ve both been through some tough stuff in the past, it all came back together to know that we still love each other till the end.
