friends again?
Adora
She was shaken awake by someone, maybe the librarian, her mind supplied, trying to convince her that there was no real threat, she was safe at school.
When blue eyes slowly fluttered open she was met with a pair of hetrochromic eyes, (one a brilliant tealy blue and the other a bright, pretty yellow) staring intensely at her. Catra.
"Hey Adora."
The blonde fumbled with her words before she settled on a simple-
"Catra. Hey.."
Her mind couldn't wrap around the fact that Catra was actually talking to her, even after what she did. Catra is talking to me!
"I umm.." The brunette took a deep breath and slowly exhaled before she continued "i-i 've been wanting to talk to since I saw you yesterday"
The blonde collected her thoughts before she replied with " I- you have? " she quickly continued when Catra slowly nodded her head. "Me too... I just wanted to say sorr-"
She was cut off by Catra shushing her.
"Yeah, I mean that's fine, but, could we maybe talk about all that later, as in later today after school? If you can."
Oh. I can't. The blonde quickly shook her head remembering what her mom had said this morning and the events playing in in her head.
"I can, actually"
A small and subtle grin plastered on her face. The blonde looked up to see a small smirk stretch across Catra 's face. Just like when we were kids.
"Ok that's great. Meet me outside the school gates at the end of the day. I'll be waiting princess."
A small blush spread out across Adora' s face. She used to call me princess all the time as kids. I almost forgot..
"Ok, I'll see you there kitty."
Before Catra could reply and to save herself from complete embarrassment, she swiftly made her way to her first class, Science. Shit..
Catra
She was left alone standing in the middle of the library a blushing mess. Kitty. Adora still remembered. But did she care?
Catra walked out of the library silently searching for Scorpia so they could walk to there next class together. Science. Shit..
"Wildcat! There you are!!"
Catra was scooped into yet another bone crushing hug. Wildcat?! What the fuck was that about. Before she could voice her opinions, the bell rang and soon enough Catra had been dropped and was being dragged to her next class.
Time skip
The day went fairly quickly and Catra found herself following Scorpia to the cafeteria.
"I promise you'll like them!" Scorpia paused for a second and have Catra a look at reassurance.
Catra rolled her eyes a bit, but let Scorpia continue.
" There's lots of them, we used to be separate friend groups but then Adora, she's blonde and like super popular! She was friends with both the groups and just decided to merge them, it's really cool actually cause that's how I met Perfuma! "
"Oh. Well that's cool Scorps, and whose 'Perfuma'" Catra said with a slight laugh. Who knew teasing someone could be so fun . A loud laugh escaped her lips when she saw Scorpia had turned beet red.
"I- o umm she's .." Scorpia look down at her shoes, as if to hide her ever growing blush.
" she's so nice and kind and pretty and she helps out with the biology department, with plants and stuff, and she's got her own save the world group! We encourage people to recycle and look after the planet! You should totally join Catra! "
A smirk stretched across her face and she rolled her eyes, whilst putting an arm around Scorpia she replied:
"As much as I would love to do that, dirt and plants really aren't my thing."
they came to a stop when they reached a rather large table right in the middle of the canteen. Was Adora really that popular?
Her thoughts we're interrupted when Scorpia spoke and wrapped an arm around her shoulder.
"Guys! This is Catra she's gonna come and sit with us." Scorpia spoke with a huge smile on her face.
In a couple of seconds she was being showered in a bunch of "Hey Catra" or " where did you come from" and " it's nice to meet you" and then the occasional "Come sit next to me!"
Catra scanned the table and saw a bunch of people staring at her, not taking their eyes off of her, they were clearly waiting for a reply, so she silently waved her hand. When eyes eventually went off of her, she went back to looking at the people sitting there, she recognised a few faces like the heads daughter Sparkles (or whatever her name was), and then Entrapta (?) Who was in her maths class (she was really fucking smart) also, Mermista and her annoying boy toy Sean (sea hawk) who were in her PE class always fighting about something, and then finally her eyes met with those stupid deep blue eyes that only pretty girl Adora seemed to have.
"Hey Adora."
Adora smiled one of her stupid toothy grins and softly replied:
"Hey Catra."
Catra found herself smiling back against her own will, stupid Adora making her do and think stupid things.
Their 'moment' was cut short as Glitter spoke up:
"Do you two.. Like know each other or something" she said with a slight eye roll.
Just as Catra was about to speak up to say something, Adora beat her to it.
"Umm.. Yeah we were friends"
The purple haired girl looked at the two girls for a couple moments and then went back to talking to the guy who she was sitting next to; who she later found out was called bow, when everyone was introducing themselves.
But Catra' s mind was still thinking about what Adora has said, what Adora has called them. Yeah they were friends, but were they gonna be friends again? Catra found herself asking, it's the only thing that's on her mind. Before she could dwell on it anymore the bell signalling the end of lunch goes, and before she can even say goodbye she's being dragged to her next class by Scorpia whose rambling about Perfuma and asking Catra if she likes all the new people (new friends) she had met. And for some odd reason Catra finds herself nodding.
