Chapter 33

A huge cheer answered Percy as he stood, exchanging one last glance and smile with Tony, Thalia and Nico. He led everyone out, where they all spread out in their respective positions, with Percy in the centre, and Tony hovering above.

"It's time."

They took their stances, Reyna stood in front of the Roman Legion head held high, her armour glinting in the light, in front of the Fifth Cohort the banner of the Roman Legion was held up proudly, the Greeks stood behind him.

The Gods looked terrifying, Apollo's armour blinded anyone who looked at it, Artemis' shone slivery in the light. Poseidon held his trident in his hands looking every bit terrifying as a wild ocean. Hades was wearing his Helm of Darkness, standing with Persephone who had a vindictive smile upon her face,

Athena stood tall, her eyes sharp and stormy, promising revenge for her daughter. Aphrodite looked beautiful and a terrifying force of nature at the same time, her usual flowy dresses replaced with bronze armour, dark eyes and hair pulled into a bun, she held her head high with the determined face of a true warrior, she had an array of weapons in her belt.

Percy immediately decided that whoever crossed her path today was going to not going to face a merciful death.

Time stood still, as their ears picked up the distant but loud noise of the hundreds of monsters and Giants trampling across Olympus. Even the air seemed to hold its breath, as the chaos grew louder, and the jeers of the monsters could be heard.

Looking at the size of the approaching army curses were heard audibly among the demigods and their allies. The Giants were the first to be seen, led by Porphyrion, who was sneering.

The battlefield reined into complete silence as the two armies stood across each other. Porphyrion broke the silence, his voice loud and cutting through the air with a hiss that made most demigods wince.

"Perseus Jackson, the mighty hero, come to face your death?"

Percy did not take the bait, choosing to instead reply, "If there's anyone who will be leaving here as dust, it will be you and your army, Porphyrion."

"Foolish demigods." The Giant returned unperturbed.

Percy scanned for Kronos but he was nowhere to be seen. The coward would come after tiring everyone out, Percy thought bitterly.

Polybotes then roared, "Let's begin brother, I cannot wait anymore to devour these foolish demigods. And beware Perseus Jackson is mine to kill."

Porphyrion looked Percy dead in the eyes as he yelled, "Kill them."

Percy defiantly looked at him and said, "Come on guys let's show them what we're made of."

Both armies surged forward, the previously silent air now becoming a mix of yells, and incoherent battle cries. The demigods and their allies were careful to stop far away from their traps while the monsters were stupid enough to run straight in them.

A laugh burst out of Tony as he watched the monsters yell angrily as they tripped and the bombs exploded in their ranks, disintegrating the entire first row of monsters. This is just the beginning, Tony thought smugly.

Apollo watched as the twins, Otis and Ephialtes triggered a huge bomb which sent them sprawling back into the army, crushing another group of Cyclopes in the process. The battle hadn't even started yet but it was working slightly in their favour.

Both sides had huge number of armies, but their traps worked perfectly. Porphyrion, Polybotes and Alcyoneus roared in anger and charged straight at them, the bombs didn't even confuse them.

Zeus and Thalia met Porphyrion, with huge flashes of lightning, Thor was helping too. The Giant was hit by three flashes of lightning but just staggered and was disoriented for a moment, Thalia used this to her advantage and stabbed him in the leg, but had to roll away to avoid getting trampled.

Alcyoneus was held by the shadows as Hades manipulated them, Nico meanwhile was confusing the Giant by disappearing into the shadows and stabbing the Giant and appearing behind him, stabbing him again before melting again. All the while Persephone helped them by throwing daggers at the Giant.

Poseidon and Percy charged towards Polybotes, who sneered and released his deadly basilisks into the crowd. Percy yelled over the din, "Do not under any circumstances look the basilisks in the eyes."

The snakes came towards him, Percy easily severed their heads using his sword. Percy and Poseidon exchanged a glance with each other and both of them summoned the power of the seas.

Percy closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again, his eyes glowed green as a storm was brought forth by the combined power of Poseidon and Percy. The stormy winds encircled the Giant making him wobble and stumble.

Percy had his own hurricane around him, and he advanced killing monsters left and right, showing them no mercy. Poseidon looked like an identical copy. Both of them channelling the unrelenting fury of the sea towards their enemies leaving destruction in their wake.

The Avengers, and the other demigods, although already knew, watched the terrifying force that was Percy and Poseidon unleashing their fury. Even Polybotes had an apprehensive look on his face.

The whole battlefield turned to watch, the demigods and their allies in awe and the monsters and Giants in fear. Polybotes kept trying to turn the water into poison but Percy counter-acted him throwing it away each time.

The Giant slashed down with his blade but Percy leapt out of the way, and stabbed the Giant in the leg. Polybotes just staggered and swept his hand. Percy was unable to dodge in time and as a result was knocked away but managed to avoid injury by rolling into a ball as he dropped. His vision dizzied for a bit before a fresh wave of anger crept inside him.

Polybotes was going to pay for knocking him away, cause ugh, that shit hurt. He distantly heard someone shout his name but paid no mind to it and ran back into the winds.

Poseidon gave Percy a nod and, Percy ripped Arius out of it's sheath, and the next time used it to counter the Giant's strike, Polybotes hand slowed enough that Percy was able to easily dodge it, Poseidon threw his spear straight at the belly of Polybotes with enough force to make the Giant bleed the golden ichor.

Polybotes staggered to his knees, but kept fighting, he sent waves of poison towards Percy who simply deflected them, Polybotes dodged Percy's strikes but he grew weaker by the second as Poseidon repeatedly struck him with his spear.

Percy caught a weak spot and slipped under the Giant's guard, the proud Giant had overestimated himself and was wearing no armour. Rookie mistake.

Percy's shout was drowned by the agonised roar of Polybotes as he drove the blade straight into the Giant's heart. Percy spiralled down and rolled to a stop far away near Poseidon as Polybotes turned into dust.

The battlefield was completely silent as Tony saw Percy's power unleashed so powerfully, he felt proud and awed and terrified at the same time. Percy and Poseidon looked deadly and the whole battlefield had watched what happened to those who dared cross their path. Tony was glad Percy was on their side.

The silence dropped as suddenly as it had come, the Giants charged with renewed anger. Tony shot a laser at the telekhine who was about to hit Steve, killing it on impact.

"Thanks Tony," Steve yelled in the midst of fighting another Cyclopes, he and Natasha were fighting back to back guarding each other as much as possible. Natasha wielding a multitude of weapons, some Tony had never even seen.

"Don't mention it." Tony yelled back as he dove towards the other trapped demigods. He occasionally kept a check on Percy too, Tony had just about had a heart attack when the Giant had knocked him aside like a rag doll, but Percy thankfully seemed unruffled.

Thalia grunted as she dodged yet another one of Porphyrion's strike. The Giant simply laughed at her, which drove her even madder. She backed off for a bit then asked Zeus to keep it occupied for a few moments.

"Hey Thor!" She yelled and then gestured to Thor who understood her plan using the few hand signals they had come up with to communicate quickly.

She and Thor crept to Porphyrion's sides, dodging and killing monsters on the way. Zeus meanwhile was goading him, perfectly causing the Giant to become more and more irritable. With a single nod Thalia and Thor leapt at the same time smashing into each of the Giant's side.

Thalia drove her spear and called upon a bolt of light to hit the Giant's side, on the other side Thor did the same. Their combined efforts seemed to work and the Giant fell to his knees. Zeus used this moment to call, and struck the Giant with the master bolt.

Another loud scream and a blinding flash of white later, the Giant turned into dust.

Thalia and Thor high-fived before landing gracefully on the ground.

Thalia heard a call from her right, "Showing off are we cousin?"

Thalia rolled her eyes as she easily deflected an arrow sent her way. Stabbing another monster she retorted, "It wasn't me who had glowing eyes Kelp Head."

Percy scoffed, "You're just jealous Pinecone face."

Before Thalia could retort back, Nico and pretty much all the Avengers yelled in unison, which was creepy as heck, "Would you two just shut up? We're fighting a battle here."

Percy and Thalia simply rolled their eyes and continued to fight. Even the Gods seemed amused at them. Poseidon simply looked exasperated, Zeus confused and Hades smirking slightly from the darkness.

Alcyoneus was killed without too much fuss since he wasn't in his home territory. Percy and Thalia turned their attention to the twin Giants, Dionysus and Pollux along with Apollo were fighting admirably well, so Thalia yelled,

"I'm taking them Percy go find someone else."

Apollo looked offended as he yelled, "Excuse me! We're perfectly capable of killing him on our own." Right at that moment he was nearly decapitated by Otis.

Thalia grinned and said, "You were saying?"

Apollo just rolled his eyes, "Fine, if you are so eager to please me. I was just kidding, just kidding." He added the last part as Thalia turned her murderous glare towards him, Apollo shuddered as he could feel his sister's anger too, all across the battlefield.

Apollo turned to check on her for a moment, she was doing admirably well with Kayla and Phoebe by her side. The three were quick and agile, slashing at Orion making him bleed in several places. Satisfied he turned back to his fight.

Malcolm swung his sword at the Giant as he and his mother Athena duelled blows with him. Malcolm then hurled a dagger at his eye, though not his weapon of choice, it hit it's mark perfectly, blinding the Giant. Athena used this distraction to ram a spear into the Giant's heart thus killing him.

Nyassa and Hephaestus fought valiantly against Mimas but were having very little success, since everything went wrong in the presence of Mimas, but this was solved quickly with the help of Hades, who once Nyassa and Hephaestus had managed to weaken Mimas by multiple wounds on his body opened up a tunnel straight to Tartarus below Mimas. Nyassa was especially proud of her traps that she had set to backfire so no matter what happened they would manage to in some way or another weaken Mimas.

Hephaestus turned to her and said, "Good job daughter. I will see you again later." Nyassa simply nodded but a blinding grin split on her face and despite her dwindling energy fought with renewed enthusiasm.

"Come on Jessica, this will be as easy as applying nail polish. Periboia is nothing,"

Periboia snarled with hate and raised her dagger but found herself swiftly blocked by Jessica, Jessica and Aphrodite double teamed her holding her in a fierce fencing match.

In between strikes Aphrodite threw doves, petals and strong scents into the Princess' eyes confusing her. Jessica finally managed to overpower her and right at that moment Hades once again opened another portal to Tartarus sending a screaming Periboia off.

Steve threw his shield at yet another monster, while dodging an incoming punch. He glanced around the field once and saw the utter craziness going around. He asked Natasha, "Why did you even wake me up?"

Natasha rolled her eyes and said, "Why? You getting tired old man?"

Steve smirked at her and said, "Oh you wish young lady, in our time it was so much simpler."

Natasha threw a dagger and replied, "Well get on with the times fossil."

Steve chose not to reply, and well he couldn't since he was facing a hellhound, which was really huge.

"Uh...Tasha? A little help here?" He asked her.

Natasha ran and used Steve's body to manoeuvre herself onto the back of the hellhound. She plunged her sword deep into its neck, and it instantly turned into dust. She dropped and rolled to a stop in front of Steve.

"Just yell next time." Was the only thing she said before running off once more.

Percy kept an eye out for Kronos, why hadn't he appeared yet? And just great Percy must have the worst luck in the world because right as he thought those words, a voice boomed out.

"Perseus Jackson......"
