Harley Keener is an Asshole
Summary
Peter Parker was a simple, homeless crook until a friend approached him with a simple offer: Pose as Harley Stark, the missing son of Tony Stark, a notorious politician who had been receiving some bad publicity lately. Peter packs up and heads right up to New York after he and his friend come up with a plan to rob the place. After receiving a cryptic message, however, Peter starts uncovering some dark secrets behind the seemingly picture perfect family, and realizes that nothing is what it seemed. And so he sets out to answer the question: What happened to the real Harley Stark?

- So, I’ve been hinting this at the beginning, but there was some foul play involved in Harley Stark’s death
- Peter was going to meet Michelle, Harley’s ex girlfriend, who Harley called before he disappeared. She gave Harley a necklace the night before he disappeared.
- There was going to be some slow burn with Peter and MJ, with Ned suspiciously watching Peter from the background
- Peter was going to throw Morgan a surprise party, and apologize for being a jerk to her when he was a teen. Morgan was going to roll her eyes, but decide Peter was alright.
- Meanwhile, Peter was going to bond with Tony and Pepper. He was going to confess that he was always interested in biochemistry, but couldn’t pursue it because he couldn’t afford it.
- When Tony hesitates and asks why Peter didn’t come to him, Peter says some really heartfelt line about not having anyone to depend on, that makes Tony and Pepper hesitate in their original plans
- Peter was going to ask Ned what happened the night he died. When Ned tells him, Peter begins to suspect Ned purposely murdering Harley
- Meanwhile, he’s attacked by an assassin again, and is once again injured
- When he asks Ned what happened, Ned gets angry and tells Peter how he lived his entire life scared that he murdered his best friend. He also tells Peter he knew something was off, as he had nothing in common with Harley
- Peter was going to track down the train conductor on the train Harley supposedly died in, and he was going to tell Peter that Harley did, in fact get off the train
- Peter then asks Happy and Bruce their accounts, and finds out that nothing adds up. Bruce slips that Harley had a drug problem, and it was making Tony look bad. Happy says that after they got back, Tony asked Harley to bury a large bag full of something. Happy says he suspected the bag to be filled with drugs.
- Peter then gets attacked by another assassin, but manages to get the upper hand and demand who sent them. He’s shocked to find out they were hired by Tony Stark
- Peter then comes to the conclusion that Tony killed Harley because he was getting Tony bad PR, and hired some orphan kid who somewhat resembled Harley to pose as his son, and then kill him so Tony can play the grieving father card again. He confronts Tony, who doesn’t deny it. Pepper comes in then, and Peter realizes she was also aware. He accuses the family of conning him when he was supposedly conning them.
- When he gets a little aggressive, Morgan comes in holding a gun, telling Peter to calm down. She says that Peter deserves to know what was going on.
- Morgan explains that Harley did come back that night, but he attacked and almost killed her. Morgan grabbed a vase in self defense, and accidentally killed Harley with it. Tony, not wanting Morgan to go to jail, covered up the murder, and spread the rumor that Harley ran away
- Peter doesn’t know how to process it. He steals a bunch of money from Tony, and donates it to nonprofits under Tony’s name. After this, he plans on leaving the Starks for good
- Morgan finds Peter at the train station. She tells him that she’d never seen her parents as happy as when Peter was with them.
- Peter tells her they were the closest thing he ever had to a family
- Morgan asks if Peter would come back and stay with them as himself. Peter asks that they call him by his real name, and get to know him, than Harley StarK
- Morgan agrees, and the story ends with Peter going into the car, and gaining a new family.
