Goodbye
This was it. This was goodbye. The 5 of them stood in the room. Tony off to the side, Wanda on the other side hands ready to erase their memory, Howard and Maria on the center, next to them Strange had his portal open and ready. He hadn’t wanted to get to earth so quickly, he wanted to wait a while, until Howard and Tony worked things out, but he figured Howard agreeing to apologize was the best it was getting and decided to just come.
“Ready?” He said giving staring at Howard in hopes of hinting at that apology.
“Yup- OW” Howard yelled as Maria elbowed him hard.
“Are you sure there isn’t anything you’d like to say first?” she asked sickeningly sweet giving him a pointed look, well glare.
“No” a glare from Strange *sigh “yes” he turned to Tony and in a stilted manner gritted out. “I’m so very sorry.”
“For whAt” Maria emphasized, sounding much like a parent scolding their child.
he mumbled something incoherently
“What was that,” she asked again voice like honey, if honey could kill.
“I SAID IM * sigh I said I’m sorry for treating you badly when you were a child and your whole life, you didn’t deserve that and it wasn’t your fault. I really am sorry Anthony and it kills me that when I go back I’ll just make the same mistakes because I won’t remember”
Tony was just barely holding back tears “thank yOu,” he said in an attempt to sound bored, but his voice cracked at the end and gave him away.
The two men nodded at each other in acknowledgment
“Okay then,” Strange said satisfied “Wanda?” She nodded and then in a blast of red light hit the couple who just as quickly were swallowed by the portal, and thrown back, into their time.
