Pregnant?
Maya arrived home from a 24 hour shift, eager to see her wife
-Honey I'm home!!- she says walking into the room watching Carina laying on the bed holding a book and a cup of coffee
-Hello bambina, how was your shift?- Carina motions Maya to come lay next to her leaving the book and her coffee at the nightstand
-Exhausting- she kisses Carina softly - but now that I'm with you everything feels better...
-Hmm everything feels better at home bambina- soft kisses are exchange - you know what's time for?
-Is it finally the day?- Maya says jumping off the bed
-You forgot?!
-No no!!! I set a reminder on my phone... that just died an hour ago- Carina laughs at her wife's reaction- It's not funny!
-Actually it is, you look cute
-So...You have it? - Carina nods- then what are we waiting for?
-Wait- Carina holds her hand- No matter what the result is we're gonna be okay right? We can try again?
Maya holds her face, looking directly into her wife's eyes
-Carina no matter what the result is we're going to be fine because we love each other, and of course we're going to try again- she kisses her nose- can we take the test now?
-We can- Carina takes the test from the nightstand and takes her wife's hand guiding her to the bathroom
-So you pee in this and we wait five minutes - Maya says more like a question and Carina nods
Carina takes the pregnancy test and do what needs to do
-Ok, is the timer ready?- Carina says putting the test on the counter
-Yes babe, ready?- Carina nods and Maya stars the timer
Maya gets closer to her wife and kiss her softly, she hugs Carina and keeps her close hoping that pregnancy test is finally positive, hoping she can soon have a baby in her arms. Carina rest her head on Maya's shoulder also hoping for that test to be positive, wanting to finally start a family, happy to do this with her wife, happy for them finally being fully invested in their family
The phone beeps and they pull apart, both nervous to look at the results
-Together okay?- Maya says taking the test but not looking at the results yet- ready?
-Let's do it - Carina says holding Maya's hand
Maya truns around the test and they both gasp
-Two... Two lines? That's... That's a...
-That's a positive! Bambina I'm pregnant!!- Carina adds and jumps into Maya's arms
-We're having a baby!!! My love we're having a baby!!- Maya holds Carina and starts spinning around the room
-We are! I love you so much - Carina says now crying holding strong to Maya
After a few minutes Maya puts Carina in the bed carefully and puts up her shirt
-What are you doing?!- Carina says laughing but Maya ignores her and starts kissing Carina's belly- Bambina you know it's too early for the baby to feel you right?
-Don't listen to your mamma my little love- she kisses her belly one more time
-So am I not your love anymore?- Carina says pretending annoyance
-You are my love, our baby is my little love- Maya says smiling- omg?!!
-What? What's wrong?
-We have to decorate a room, gender neutral theme but with firetrucks paintings on the walls and rainbows!!
-Slow down my love, we have plenty of time- Carina says laughing, secretly loving her wife's excitement
-Our apartment is small Carina, we need to buy a house, with a big garden so we can have picnics and play
-That sounds interesting actually, you know what? we should start looking for houses- Carina says considering the idea of having their own house and imagining a little boy or girl running around
-Definitely, but first... Let's celebrate!! What do you want babe? Pasta? Pizza? We can go anywhere you want
-What about a pizza and lots of cuddles- Carina says liking the idea of just spending the night with the love of her life celebrating their family is getting bigger
-Then pizza and cuddles and a movie? also you can't drink wine anymore but we can have juice or something
-we can fiure it out- Carina says standing up but Maya holds her hand stoppping her- what's wrong?
-I'm doing everythin you go and rest babe, I want you both comfortable
-Maya I'm just a couple of weeks pregnant! I can still do my normal activities!
-I know my love, and i have to get used to the idea of that but now it's not about that- she kisses Carin's cheek- it's just me wanting to spoil my pregnant and beautiful wife, ok?
-Ok bambina, if that's what you want
-Of course Carina, you're carryin our baby, I can't be more grateful and in love, now let's go- Maya holds Carina's hand and walk to the kitchen to prepare the juice while Carina... just watch, happy and pleased to see her wife in this mood after all they've been through.
Pizza arrived, they chose a movie and Carina lay between Maya's legs and put the blanket over them, resting her head on Maya's chest both excited for their future, looking forward to all the journey that having a baby implies
-I love you- Maya said suddenly - both of you...
-And we love you bambina, you are our home
