We’ll get through this
Tony grabbed his keys off the table, quickly chugging the rest of his coffee to race to the door. “Are you ready, Pete?”
Peter slid down the stairs on his butt in only his underwear. “Yeah.”
Tony sighed. They were already late because Morgan clogged the toilet with her sock and Tony had to unclog it before it overflowed, which it did so then they had to clean that up. “Are you going naked? I don’t think so.” Tony kicked off his shoes and went upstairs to get clothes but he spotted Pepper. “Pepper, can you bring down clothes for Peter? We’re gonna be late.”
“One second.” Pepper yelled down to him so Tony walked up half the stairs and picked Peter up, holding him with one arm around his stomach as he walked around the front foyer trying to find Peter’s shoes.
“I’m throwing it down to you.” Pepper said and before Tony even had the chance to process it, clothes were landing on his head.
He placed Peter on his feet but kept him tucked against his chest and bent down, holding the pants out for him. He knew he was giving in but they had no time and Tony didn’t want to miss Peter’s physical exam.
“Hurry. Put your foot through.” Tony tried but Peter was acting crazy which made it even more difficult. He handed Peter his shirt and placed his shoes in front of him. “Harley,” Tony called out to him as he passed by. “can you grab my phone in the kitchen?”
Morgan ran over to Peter and handed him a fruit pouch. “Here. Are you going to the doctors now?”
Peter took the pouch from her and opened it up, nodding his head to answer her question. He waited until his dad stopped manhandling him then walked out of the house after his dad.
Tony locked the door behind them and walked over to the van. “I wanna go get McDonald’s.” Peter said as he climbed into the back and sat down.
“We don’t have time. We can go after.” Tony promised him, checking the time and hoping that they made it in time.
At home, Pepper let Asier outside in the backyard to run around for a bit. They hadn’t had time to take him on a walk for the past few days which they felt guilty about but they were way too busy with life.
She walked into the kitchen, ignoring the huge amount of dishes that were piling up and all the groceries still not put away. She walked away from that for now, hoping to get to it at some point during the day.
“Morgan, come clean up your dolls. I told you to clean them up an hour ago.” Pepper called out to her daughter who was currently drawing something in the dining room. “Morgan. Right now.”
Morgan stomped into the room. “Okay.”
“Don’t give me attitude. Clean up your mess.”
Morgan began cleaning it up. “Peter’s toys are here too. I’m not cleaning his up.”
“He can clean it up when he gets home.” Pepper pulled out her phone to check the time, hoping she could get some of the house cleaned up before Peter and Tony got back.
“Mom, is Petey sick? Why does he have to go to the doctors?” Morgan asked, a bit concerned.
“He’s just going for a check up. To make sure everything’s okay with his body.” Pepper told her. She was supposed to go with Peter to the doctors but she had a last minute meeting and then the toilet got clogged so she decided to stay home and leave Tony to do it all.
Morgan thought about it for a bit then went back to cleaning up her toys so Pepper went upstairs to get some laundry done and to clean the bathrooms and bedrooms.
“Mom?” Harley walked into Peter’s bedroom and sat on the made bed, watching his mom vacuum the floor. “Why are you even cleaning in here? Peter doesn’t even sleep in here anymore.”
Pepper thought back to when she still used to clean what would be Peter’s bedroom before they got him back. It brought her back to those awful memories. “He’s with your dad.” She felt the need to say. “I still gotta clean it. What’s wrong?”
“Nothings wrong. Can I take your car out to hang with some friends?”
Pepper wiped the sweat off her forehead. “What’s wrong with your car?”
“Nothing. I just need to put gas in it and I’m too lazy. So can I take yours?”
“Well, the seats are deep so the car seats are still in there, Harley.” Pepper fixed her hair, trying to put it into a high ponytail. “So you need to take them out and bring them inside.”
“I will. Thanks, mom.” Harley went to rush out but Pepper called after him.
“How long are you going to be because I’m cooking dinner tonight and I want you home so we can eat as a family.” She leaned against the doorway, watching Harley walk down the stairs.
“Uhhh, like literally an hour. We’re just going to hang out then I’ll be back.” Harley raced down the stairs after that and Pepper sighed.
She didn’t mind Harley going out with friends but not when Peter was already out and she had to worry about him. Like she always did but she knew Peter was safe since he was with Tony.
.
.
.
The doctor's office went well in the sense that Peter listened and didn’t make a big deal about some of the tests like he did in the past.
Although they didn’t get good news, Tony was very concerned and had to talk to Pepper about and have a serious conversation.
As promised, Tony was taking Peter to McDonald’s. He wanted to spend some more one on one time with him even though he did have that one on one time fairly often; it still wasn’t enough.
So Tony parked the van and took Peter inside. They got their food and sat down at a booth, Peter talking non stop about the doctor's office and how he didn’t cry once. Unlike all the other checkup times.
“And even when she took my blood!” Peter exclaimed, taking a bite out of his chicken nugget.
Tony nodded, watching how long it took for Peter to eat. He looked over and did a double take, spotting Harley at the pop and juice fountain. He didn’t think it was him at first but then Harley turned around and spotted them there.
“Dad? Peter? What, I thought you guys were at the doctors?” He walked over and sat down next to Peter, immediately having his drink pulled out of his hands from his little brother. “This is pop.”
“I wanna sip.” Peter tried to lean down to put his mouth around the straw but Tony stopped him.
“No, Harley, take it away from him. No pop.” Tony slid Peter’s orange punch over. “You have a drink.” Tony wanted coke but didn’t get it since he knew Peter would ask for a sip and he wasn’t allowed. It wasn’t like Tony and Pepper were preventing Peter from trying certain things but Peter had pop before and was jumping off the walls all night, plus it was extremely unhealthy.
Harley pulled it away from Peter then. “Dad said no. Sorry, dude.”
Peter picked up his chicken nuggets and took another bite then sat on his knees to fully face Harley. “Guess what?”
“What?”
“Guess.”
“I don’t know.”
“Guess.”
“Uh, you’re waiting for your food to get cold before you eat it?”
Tony chuckled at that answer.
Peter sighed. “No. I went to the doctors with dad and I didn’t even cry once and I even got um, I’ll show you,” Peter rolled up his sleeve to show the bandage. “I got my blood taken. See? And then… I got a lollipop but I already ate it.”
“Wow.” Harley took a sip of his pop, watching Peter watch him. “That’s so good, Pete.”
“What’re you doing here? Mom refuse to feed you?” Tony chuckled.
“No. She’s on a cleaning streak. I just went out with my friend for a bit and I was going back but I was craving root beer.” Harley took another sip of his drink for emphasis.
Tony knew he had to go home and help clean but he didn’t want to. Maybe it was why he was prolonging going home. Plus they still needed to go to the pharmacy and get a few things for Peter.
Peter gasped. “You’re drinking beer?!”
“No.” Harley didn’t like being accused of drinking. Peter didn’t know about that short phase in his life. It was rough. “It’s pop.”
“Peter,” Tony stopped his youngest son from potentially saying anything else. “It’s a type of pop. How bout you stop talking and finish eating? Then we’ll go home and we can clean up the mess you made in the living room.”
Peter jumped on his bum on the seat with every word. “Nope. Nope. Nope.” He then slid onto the floor, under the booth so Tony looked at Harley, showing his frustration on his face.
“Peter, get up. That floor is disgusting.” Tony peeked under the table and grabbed Peter’s arms then pulled him up, sitting him on his booth now. “Eat. You ate half a chicken nugget for lunch. Can you eat the rest?”
“No.” Peter crossed his arms then pointed to the fries. “I ate fries too. But I’m not hungry anymore.”
Tony sighed. This was their problem. “Please. Just one more nugget.” He picked one up and held it in front of Peter but that didn’t work so he placed it down.
“Can I eat it then, Pete?” Harley asked.
Peter didn’t answer him, too busy with leaning his head back to get Tony’s attention. “Might as well. Are you going home now?” Asked Tony. “We have to go to the drug store to get something then we’re going home.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you guys at home then. Thanks for the food, Pete.” Harley grabbed the rest of the food and left, waving bye to them so Tony got up and grabbed all their garbage.
He looked back at Peter. “Let’s go. The faster we leave, the faster we can get home.”
By the time they eventually did get home, Tony was drained. They had to search the whole pharmacy to find what they were looking for and Peter was bored and tired so he was nagging at Tony the whole time.
He knew, or at least hoped Peter was going to go to bed early tonight.
Peter kicked off his shoes and ran in, looking for everyone. Tony noticed the car seats by the front door and wanted to ask Pepper about it.
“They’re upstairs, Pete.” Tony called out to him then went upstairs, almost getting trampled on as Peter ran ahead and into his parents bedroom.
“Hi Peter. Harley told me he saw you guys at McDonald’s.” Pepper said, leaning over to grab Peter so she could hug him.
Peter let himself be pulled into his mom's arms but then he spotted Morgan’s iPad so he reached over to grab it from her just as Tony walked in and stopped him, not saying anything about that.
“How was the doctor's appointment?” Pepper asked Tony, a hint of concern in her voice.
Tony laid down on the bed, completely exhausted. “Hey, you two buggers go play for a bit. Go. Get out of here.” He gently kicked Peter’s butt with his foot but then Peter was sitting on him. “Go play, buddy. Unless you wanna go clean-”
“No! Bye!” Peter slid off the bed and ran out of the room with Morgan.
Tony rubbed his eyes. He was so tired. “So,” He began. “the doctor said that Peter’s underweight. He’s ninety-three pounds and should be at least one hundred and five.”
Pepper sat up a bit, extremely concerned now. “Oh no.” He placed her head in her hands, feeling exactly how Tony was feeling. Like a failure of a parent. “It’s just so hard.” She cried. “He doesn’t eat anything we cook for him.”
Tony didn’t want her to cry. It wasn’t the end of the world. “Hey, it’s fine. He’s healthy. He’s with us and we’ll get him to gain more weight.”
Pepper wiped at her tears. “What did he say when the doctor told you guys?”
Tony thought back to it. Peter was putting his clothes back on when she told him. Tony was expecting it deep down. Peter had always been on the lighter side but he was too light. “He um, he didn’t say anything. I don’t think he knows. We need to talk to him about it though.”
“We will. As soon as possible. Let them play for a bit and then we’ll talk to him.” Pepper suggested. “Is everything else okay? All his body parts working fine?”
Tony ran his hand through his hair. “Yeah, everything else is fine but he’s low on iron because he’s not eating enough so we had to pick up vitamins that he has to take twice a day.”
“Oh god.” Pepper shook her head. She wanted to hear some good news. “What are we doing wrong?”
Tony moved closer to her so he could wrap an arm around her. “Nothing. We’re doing everything right, Peter is happy and we’re gonna work on it. He’ll start putting on weight. The doctor even said that he hasn’t started puberty yet so once he does, he’ll start gaining more weight.”
“Did she say why he hasn’t yet?” Pepper asked. They were worried about Peter’s delayed development but not too worried since Peter was otherwise healthy.
“She’s not concerned about it. We shouldn’t be either.” Tony pressed a kiss to her cheek. “He’ll bloom when he’s ready.”
With a nod, Pepper got off the bed and walked towards the door. “You’re right but I just wanna see him for a bit. I barely got any cleaning done.”
Tony chucked. He didn’t mind a messy house. He knew one day all his kids would grow up and there will no longer be a messy house. Just a boring clean house so he loved the mess. Sometimes.
They walked into Morgan’s bedroom and found Peter chewing on one of Morgan’s dolls bottles as he laid on the floor and watched Morgan change the diaper on her baby.
Tony walked in and sat in the bean bag chair, not knowing how to approach the bottle situation that Peter was currently doing and Peter either didn’t realize he was doing it or didn’t care.
Pepper sat on the bed and made eye contact with Tony, having a silent conversation about it.
“What’re you guys doing?” Tony asked, not wanting to yank the empty bottle out of Peter’s mouth.
“I’m the mom and Peter’s the baby so I have to take care of him.” Morgan explained, fastening the diaper onto her doll then grabbing another one and moving to Peter next.
Peter gave her a dirty look. “I’m not a baby. Don’t say that.”
Morgan stopped for a second to look at Peter. Both parents watched her, waiting to see what she did and then she was grabbing Peter’s pants and pulling them down. “You have the bottle, so that makes you the baby-”
Peter kicked his legs to get her to stop. “Stop! Leave me alone!”
“Okay, Morgan. Stop. He doesn’t like it.” Tony gently grabbed the diaper from Morgan, trying not to laugh at the situation.
Peter continued to give Morgan a dirty look and laid back down. “You’re weird. Don’t take off my pants.”
Morgan frowned. “I used to when we used to play mommy and baby before.”
“No.” Peter insisted, kicking his leg out at her again.
Tony moved across the floor to sit between the two. He could tell Peter’s teeth were getting ready to chomp. He tapped on the bottle Peter had in his mouth. “Morgan’s right, bud, this bottle is for her dolls. Are you a baby now?”
Peter thought about it. “No.”
“That’s what I thought. Can I have it?”
“No.” Peter turned his body so Tony couldn’t take it from him.
Tony reached over and snatched it. He held it, not putting it down until he could hide it, much like he had to do with some of Morgan’s pacifiers for her dolls a few years ago since Peter found them and snuck them.
Peter rolled back over to give him a dirty look then hit him. Tony grabbed his arm, “Do not hit me. Say sorry.”
Peter’s bottom lip shook. “Sorry.” He didn’t mean it.
Tony patted his butt. “Mom and I wanna talk to you about something. Can you come with us? You’re not in trouble.” He quickly added so Peter didn’t jump to conclusions.
Pepper told Morgan to give them some time alone and then the ten year old left. Peter watched his sister leave and sat up. “What? I was good. I wasn’t bad.”
“I know,” Tony rubbed his foot. “But I told mom what the doctor told me so now we’re gonna talk to you.”
Pepper moved closer to Peter, reaching out to caress his face. “Don’t worry, we’re not mad at you.”
Peter didn’t like talks that only involved him. It made him feel like he misbehaved and did something he wasn’t supposed to but he didn’t know what he did. He laid down on the floor and looked at both of his parents. “Then what?”
Tony began, “Well, you know how we had to go to the pharmacy to pick up a few things?” Peter nodded. “I got iron pills and some gummy vitamins for you.
“But… but before we already took gummy bear vitamins.” Peter pointed out. He remembered taking them everyday at breakfast with his siblings. Sometimes he took Morgan’s because they tasted so good.
Tony rubbed his leg. “Yeah, so we’re gonna start again because when the doctor weighed you, she saw that you were underweight.”
“We’re just a bit concerned, that’s all.” Added Pepper. “We wanna get your weight up so you need to start eating more at dinner and lunch.” For the most part, Peter was a good eater at breakfast and only complained about the food sometimes.
“Okay.” He agreed. Easy enough for him to say now but when the food was placed in front of him that he didn’t like, that’s when he refused to eat it and then his body didn’t get the nutrition it needed to grow.
“Yeah? Do you wanna help me cook dinner?” Asked Pepper, reaching out to hold Peter’s hand.
“Yeah but just me. I don’t want Harley or Morgan to help.” Peter stuck out his bottom lip. He wanted his mom's attention all to himself.
“I’ll make sure they don’t bug you guys.” Tony stood up and held his hands out to help Pepper and Peter up. He went to tell Harley not to go in the kitchen then went to find Morgan to play with her.
Peter ran into the kitchen and pulled out his cooking apron. “Help me tie it please.”
Pepper tied it for him and pulled out her notebook of recipes. “We’re gonna eat a healthy dinner of chicken, broccoli, mash potatoes, corn and peas and some fruit for dessert.”
Peter looked at the recipe. “But fruit isn’t dessert. I want… cookies.”
“No. We’re having healthy meals and you’re gonna help me cook it. We need to take the chicken out first so you do that while I start boiling the potatoes.” Pepper grabbed a pot and filled it up with water to put on the stove. She used to cook almost every single night with Peter when he was younger and it was always such a fun bonding experience.
Peter sat on the counter and chopped up the carrots while Pepper dealt with the chicken. “Look! Am I doing a good job?”
“Absolutely. Keep chopping.” Pepper turned to put the chicken in the oven but while she did, Peter grabbed a bowl of water and accidentally flipped it over, spilling it all down his pants.
“Uh oh.” Peter looked to Pepper for her reaction.
“That’s okay. Cooking gets messy sometimes. Clean it up then go change your pants.” She handed Peter a paper towel to get it cleaned up so Peter cleaned it up the best he could and then slid off the counter.
“I’ll be back but don’t chop up the carrots cause I still wanna do that.” Peter pointed to his little workstation and went to run off but then he ran back. “And don’t pour the corn in because I wanna do that too. Or the peas.”
Pepper smiled fondly. “Okay. I won’t. Go change.”
Peter quickly ran upstairs and into his bedroom. He changed out of his wet pants and underwear then put on clean pants and went to run back downstairs but he got distracted and went into Morgan’s bedroom. “Hi.”
Tony was surprised to see Peter but he noticed he had an outfit change down below. “Hey. Why did you change your pants?”
“I spilled water.” Peter sat down to see what they were doing. He grabbed one of Morgan’s barbies and started taking off its clothes to change the outfit. “She needs to wear different clothes-”
“No! Daddy, tell him to stop!” Morgan bounced on her bum, frustrated with Peter ruining everything.
Tony grabbed the doll from Peter. “Stop, Peter. We’re playing here. We’re not coming down to bug you and mom, are we?”
Peter laid on the carpet to block Tony out. He spotted a box of candy under Morgan’s bed and reached for it, pulling it out and popping one into his mouth.
“Hey, no eating before dinner. Give me that.” Tony grabbed it from Peter and looked at Morgan who was caught red handed. “What’s this, Morgan?”
She shrugged. “Candy.”
“Yeah and why is it in your room?”
“Because I like to eat it.”
Peter sat on Tony’s leg to try and eat another one. “I want it.”
“No. I’m taking it. No candy for you guys.” Tony put the box of fuzzy peaches behind his back. He knew how crazy his kids got for candy so Pepper and him had to limit their candy intake.
Peter crossed his arms but stood up to leave. “Bye!” He ran downstairs and right as started going down, the doorbell rang so he ran down the stairs and over to the door to open it.
The lock that he couldn’t reach wasn’t locked so he was able to get the door open. Two men in black suits were at the door. He looked up at the two of them, curiously. “Hi.”
“Are you parents home?” One of them asked.
Peter looked at his glasses and thought they looked funny. “Yeah.”
“Can we come in?”
Tony heard the doorbell ring so he was already getting up to go see who it was but when he saw that Peter had already opened up the door, he raced even faster down the stairs and grabbed Peter to push him away. He looked at the two men. “Can I help you?”
One of the men pulled out a business card for Tony who took it and scanned it over.
“Mr. Stark, we’re here to get a blood sample from you and your son.”
Tony felt like he was just slapped across the face with those words. “A blood sample? Who sent you?”
“Our client would like to remain private. We need to prove your relationship to the child. You and Mrs. Potts.” The man took off his sunglasses, trying to look intimidating to Tony but he wasn’t.
“You don’t need to do anything. You’re not taking any blood samples from my kid.” Tony looked at both men, trying to find any sort of hint as to who they were and who sent them. The card wasn’t much of any help.
“Sir, if you don’t let us in, we will have no other choice than to come back with the police.”
“Then come back with the police.” Tony slammed the door shut and locked it. He took a few breaths and turned around, seeing Harley and Morgan standing on the stairs with Pepper holding Peter against her.
“Tony, who were those men? What did they want?” Asked Pepper, holding onto Peter for dear life.
Tony looked at the business card in his hand. “I don’t know. They didn’t say who they represented but they wanted blood samples from Peter and us to prove we’re his parents.”
Peter ran over to Tony, crying. “No. I don’t wanna get taken away again. Don’t let them take me.”
“Baby, no ones taking you away again.” Tony reassured him and kneeled down so he could hold Peter closer. “I promise you. Your mother and I won’t let it happen.”
Peter clung onto his dad. “But it did happen.”
That hurt Tony to hear. He looked up at Pepper who walked over to them. “We won’t let it happen again. We promise you. It’s gonna be okay.”
Peter believed that but he was still scared. He stuck his thumb in his mouth and nodded against his dad’s shoulder.
Morgan reached out to hold Peter’s hand. “It’s okay, Petey. You’re safe with us.”
Peter nodded again. He suddenly didn’t feel like cooking anymore so Pepper finished cooking while Tony went to call Natasha about what just happened and to see if she could find anything about it while they ate, he was hoping to get information from her soon.
They sat down for dinner and the mood was slightly brighter. Peter was extra clingy and hadn’t removed his thumb from his mouth once so Tony had to physically remove it himself. “How are you gonna eat with that in there.”
Peter looked at his plate. He didn’t like it. “I don’t want this dinner.”
Tony cut up his children and stabbed a piece with the fork to hold it up to Peter’s mouth. “You made this with mom, just try it.”
Peter pushed it away and turned his head but Tony tried again and this time Peter took a bite but spit it out. “It’s yuckie. I want chicken fingers and fries.”
“This is chicken, Peter.” Pepper pointed to the chicken on his plate so Peter pushed it away.
Both parents sighed. They fought with this every night. Tony grabbed Peter’s plate again. “Then eat some corn and peas.”
Peter looked at it and started separating the peas from the corn with his fingers since he didn’t want to eat the peas. “I don’t want these.”
“That’s part of the dinner so you have to eat the peas.” Pepper tried but Peter wasn’t having it.
“I don’t have to.”
That continued for the whole dinner. Everyone else finished eating but Peter who barely took two bites so Pepper was tasked with sitting with him while Tony put the dishes away and told Morgan to get ready for bed.
Twenty minutes after dinner, Peter was still at the table with Pepper so Tony came to switch out. “How’s it going in here?”
“He’s not eating.” Pepper told him and got up. “Good luck.”
Tony sat down. “If you don’t eat, you’re gonna go to bed early tonight and you don’t get to play.”
Peter sat with his knees pulled against his chest. “If I eat, then can I have my bottle tonight? With milk?”
“No, this isn’t negotiable.” Tony picked up his fork. “You need to eat so your body can grow healthy and strong.”
Peter sighed and pushed his plate away again. “It’s cold.”
“Okay. I’ll warm it up then you have to eat it.” Peter followed Tony into the kitchen but by then he was tired and hungry so he ate the dinner, feeling like he lost the fight with his parents but at that point he was so tired and drained of all his energy to care.
“Good job. I’m so proud of you,” Tony took Peter’s now empty plate to the sink. “Can you shower and get ready for bed? Your mom’s upstairs but I’ll be there soon.”
Reluctantly, Peter went upstairs to go do as his dad said.
Tony waited until he was gone before he grabbed his phone and walked into his office to call Natasha to see what she found. “So?”
“Their client is some guy named Charles Pace. He’s been following Peter’s case for the past few years after meeting Steve in jail, supposedly Charles was a guard there before he was fired.” Explained Natasha. “So he just believed Steve’s story and wanted to figure out the truth.”
Tony thought that was crazy. “For who? Just for his own pleasure or something?”
“Basically. He’s just a lonely guy.”
Tony ran his hand through his hair and checked the time. It was already late and he had to get Peter to bed. “Well, I don’t like how some random guy was able to find our home address. I want to sue him and I want our address out of the books.”
Tony was worried about copycats. Someone who’s crazy enough to come after Peter just to see if they could because they were sick enough to want to be like Steve and Bucky.
“I’ll work on that.”
“Thank you. I gotta go.” He hung up the phone and went upstairs. He expected Peter to still be in the bathroom either playing with something he found or still in his clothes but to his surprise, Peter was lying in bed with Pepper. “Hey.”
Peter turned to him. “Can I have my bottle?”
Tony looked at Pepper first then nodded. “I’ll go get it.”
He went downstairs to grab the bottle for the millionth time now. Pepper’s plan wasn’t working. Tony understood that perhaps they weren’t doing it right because Peter had a bottle last night on the trampoline but still, he felt like it wasn’t working.
Tony grabbed the bottle with water in it and a cup of milk then went upstairs.
As usual, Peter held his hands out for the bottle and happily took it. He laid down and took a few sips but frustratedly pulled it away from his face to see what it was.
Both Tony and Pepper watched him carefully. Peter took a few more sips then threw the bottle and rubbed his eyes, yawning.
Tony didn’t ask if he wanted milk since he wanted Peter to ask for it himself which he did. He turned to face his father and Tony knew what he wanted before he even spoke. “Can I have milk? Please?”
Tony sat up to grab the cup. “You have to sit up and drink it.”
“Okay.” Peter took a few sips, trying to twirl her hair as he drank but it wasn’t the same as lying down so he handed the half full cup to his dad and laid down, sticking his thumb in his mouth.
“Goodnight, Pete. Sleep good.” Said Tony, pressing a kiss to his head.
He waited until Peter was asleep which didn’t take very long. He knew Peter slept better with his parents and Tony slept better with Peter between them.
He told Pepper about Natasha’s phone call before going to bed themselves.
.
.
.
Tony wasn’t asleep for very long.
Peter was kicking him in his sleep and somehow turned so he was upside down so Tony woke up to flip him back over but that resulted in Peter waking up a bit. Normally, Tony wouldn’t do this but he didn’t want Peter to wake up and be wide awake cranky in the morning so he grabbed Peter’s hand and helped him guide his thumb into his mouth.
He took to it instantly so Tony sighed with relief, hoping he could get some sleep but he wasn’t so lucky because Peter decided to go full on octopus mode on him.
That lasted the full night.
