Midoriya Voice Quirk AU
I am going to make a story of this later.
In this AU, Midoriya has a singing-based quirk. He can basically manipulate people's emotions through singing. He could make people cry by singing a sad song, cheer people up with a happy song, make people irritated/enraged with an angry song, you get the idea. But no matter what he's singing, anyone who hears it has an overwhelming urge to pay attention and listen. In this AU, Inko is unfortunately a bad mom and Hisashi is dead. The family is pretty wealthy.
Midoriya loved singing, and Hisashi and Inko enjoyed hearing him sing. They loved seeing him use his quirk. But one day while walking home, they got too close to a villain attack. Neither of them were paying attention because of Midoriya's quirk. The villain had made the building they were passing by unstable. The building fell, and Hisashi protected Midoriya. Inko did not handle her husband's death well, and began to blame her son. She refused to let him sing or use his quirk, and he tried to stay as quiet as possible. He doesn't speak much, and he learned other forms of communicating. Hisashi was their main source of income, so to help with the money Inko had Midoriya become a model. She got greedy with all the fame and money he was making and kept pushing new jobs onto him. It was never anything that involved singing, and most jobs had minimal talking. So, no acting jobs.
In this, UA has a program that basically allows people to pay the school for their child to get in. There's no real test of the child's skills, just the parent(s) or guardian(s) paying so their child gets into the school. For extra money, they can choose which course their child is put into. Most choose the hero course. This program was basically a scam created by Nedzu to get more money. The teachers are free to expel any student as long as they have a solid reason to back it up, so most are expelled. Especially the ones in the hero course, since Aizawa dislikes this program and already has a high expulsion rate.
Inko decides to pay for Midoriya to get into the hero course, because it will look good on her if her son becomes a hero. In this au, Aizawa and Yamada (Present Mic) are married and have adopted Shinsou as well as Eri. Eri's rescue happened earlier, and work study students weren't involved. Shinsou and Aizawa are both salty about the pay program and make assumptions. Yamada tries to keep an open mind about the student(s) but doesn't particularly like the program either. They have Shinsou do the recommendation exam because it's not robots. He gets in the hero course. Mineta doesn't.
Aizawa starts to notice something's wrong with Midoriya quickly, but doesn't quite make the connection at first.
