It had been 7 years since Ava came back from the other side and 5 since She got married to Beatrice.
They went back to the Alps after traveling the world and settling in their life. And now, it was time to extend their family. It's been a year since their first try. But unfortunately, nothing was working. Jillian had reassured them that nothing was wrong with them, and Ava and Beatrice worried that maybe some of their wounds had made permanent damage. But no, they just had to be patient. Ava looked again at the test. It's the fourth one she did, just to be sure, just to not have false hope. But again, the results were the same: pregnant. She couldn't believe it.
Finally, finally, it worked and Beatrice wasn't there to celebrate it with her. She had to go on a little 3 days trip for her job. She had hesitated to go because Ava wasn't feeling well, but Ava had insisted, thinking it was only her period. But when they didn't come, she began to think and felt hope building. And this hope was confirmed! She checked the time: 10h29. Beatrice had told her that she will come back tomorrow with the first plane available. Should she call her? Or wait until tomorrow to tell her.
After some thinking, she came up with an idea. She couldn't help but smile. Maybe Beatrice wasn't there, but she will make this moment memorable for her, Ava's way.
Beatrice was tired. She had taken the 4 am plane to come back home as soon as possible. She didn't like to be separated from Ava, especially when she was in pain. After finding her bag, she went to the arrival part of the airport to see Ava waiting for her. She couldn't help but smile when she saw how radiant she was. Ava seemed to feel better.
"Hello darling," Beatrice said, taking Ava in a hug, and deposing a tender kiss on her lips.
"Hello honey, I missed you." "Missed you too". "I have something for you, but you have to promise me not to freak out."
Beatrice was surprised and a little worried. "Are you ok? Are not feeling well? You should have stayed ho..."
"What did I just say," Ava said, laughing a little "I'm fine Bea, it's just a little gift. Stop worrying ok ?"
"Sorry"
Ava took something from a bag and hid it behind her back so quickly that Beatrice didn't have the time to see anything.
"Ok, so, yesterday I had good news, and I wanted to share it with you with something special," Ava said a little sheepish. "And so, yeah, here".
Ava was showing her a teddy bear. Why would she want to share a news with... The bear was wearing a t-shirt and on it, you could read "Be my Mama Bear ?" with a little bee.
Beatrice froze. Is Ava saying what she thought she was saying? "Ava..."
"Remember when I said it was my period coming? Well, it didn't. And then I remembered what Jillian said and so I bought 5 pregnancy tests and all of them were positive. I'm pregnant. We're going to be mothers Bea" Ava said with tears in her eyes and a smile bigger than the sky.
Still, Beatrice said nothing. But she was in movement. First, a hand went to take away the tears falling on Ava's face, the other one going on the bear. Tenderly she kissed her and put their foreheads together.
"I can't wait to be the Mama bear of this little Bee with you, Honey".
