Captain America, Star Girl, and the Howling Commandos
"Hey," Steve greeted, coming to sit next to his sister.
"Hey. We in deep shit?"
"I don't know yet. I have a meeting with Phillips and the General. They want you to come with?"
"I would, but I would rather stay here and wait for Bucky."
"How is he doing?" Steve asked.
Amy shrugged. "I don't know. They said that the machine I found him in messes with his mind."
"I gotta. Keep me posted," Steve told her, kissing the top of his head.
"Lt. Rogers? You can go in now...He's just getting cleaned up," the nurse told her.
"Thank you," Amy said, walking into the room, wearing a pair of brown trousers and a button-up shirt. "Hey, handsome."
Bucky looked up, feeling slightly awkward. "Hey."
The awkwardness lasted a minute before they were in each other's arms. "Ames...You have some explaining to do..."
"I know," Amy sighed. "Where do I start?"
"The beginning, I guess," Bucky said, sitting back on the small bed and pulling her closer to him until she was between his legs.
Amy opened her mouth and instantly told him everything. She told him about her mission to find the Tesseract, finding it, and meeting Schmidt and Zola. She told him how the kind town keeper tried to hide her, but Schmidt killed him. She told him how she tried to get the Tesseract first, and how when she touched it, she was blasted back. She explained the rush of energy, and how she killed those HYDRA soldiers and almost got to Schmidt. She explained what Steve volunteered to do, and their tour.
"Lt. Liberty?" Bucky asked.
She nodded, rolling her eyes. "I was barely in commercials. They said I was too 'outspoken'. They mainly focused on Steve as Captain America. I was basically something pretty to motivate the American men. It was Howard that gave me the name Starshine...Which I changed to Star Girl." Bucky didn't say anything. "Jamie...Are you mad at me? Do you hate me?"
Bucky let out a breath. "I could never hate you, Ames...I-I'm mad that you're in that position. I never wanted you to get into trouble or hurt."
"I can protect myself. I liberated a whole prisoner camp and saved your ass. I took out nearly a hundred HYDRA soldiers."
Bucky smirked his signature smile. "When I was captured...The only thing I thought about was how I would never see you again."
Amy's heart melted as she pressed her lips to his. "I love you," she breathed out.
"I love you too."
"Thanks for taking me shopping, Peg," Amy said to her friend as she pulled on a black low-cut dress. There was a huge celebration to celebrate the return of the 107th.
"No problem. I'm not used to having a female friend, so I'm glad I have you."
Amy smiled as she painted her lips a dark red color. Capping the tube of lipstick, she pulled her long hair up. "I'm just happy that everybody is back and safe. And that Steve and I aren't getting demoted."
"Can I ask you a question about Steve?"
"Anything," Amy said.
"He seems so nervous...around me."
Amy let out a loud laugh. "It's not you...It's all women that's not me. Steve...He never really had any female interaction. All the girls he was set up with were set up by Bucky and-or me. So, women in general...They make him nervous. He's very sweet though. And very kind, and smart. He's a hell of an artist. He's just...not good with women."
"Oh."
"Yeah...He embarrasses easily. You should see him when I and Bucky are busy in our apartment."
"So, he doesn't approve of your relationship?" Peggy asked.
"No...He does...He just doesn't approve of me and Buck having 'marital relations' outside of marriage."
"So, you're not America's innocent sweetheart," Peggy laughed.
"Please...When I was liberating those soldiers, I told Schmidt to fuck off...Flipped him off."
"Oh, I would've loved to see that!"
"I would love to flip off Phillips."
"I would actually love that too," Peggy laughed.
"Come on...We look sexy and beautiful, and there is a certain Sergeant that I want to dance more ways than one with."
Bucky chuckled as Steve tried to persuade the rest of his squad to join him in the fight. "See? I told you. They’re all idiots," Bucky chuckled as Steve joined him over at the bar, while the rest of the men sang.
"How about you? Are you ready to follow Captain America into the jaws of death?"
Bucky snorted. "Hell, no. That little guy from Brooklyn who was too dumb not to run away from a fight. I’m following him. And his sister. But you’re keeping the outfit, right?"
"You know what? It’s kind of growing on me."
"Amy's is growing on me too," Bucky smiled, seeing the woman in general walk in next to the brunette.
"Captain," Peggy greeted Steve as Bucky looked at his girlfriend.
To him, she was the most beautiful woman in this universe. In all the universes. The black dress seemed to make her skin glow, and the new color of her hair shone even brighter. "Agent Carter," Steve greeted.
"Ma’am. Lieutenant," Bucky flirted.
Peggy watched as her friend blushed a deep crimson "Sergeant," Amy purred, instantly wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him.
"Howard has some equipment for you two to try. Tomorrow morning?"
"Sounds good," Steve said, trying to ignore his best friend defiling his sister.
"Can I buy my Lt. a drink?" Bucky asked his girl quietly.
"I'll allow it. I would really like for you to take me dancing instead...And then take me back to your bunk."
Bucky grinned wider, running his hands down the silky material of her dress, not feeling any underwear. "Lt. Rogers, are you not wearing panties?"
Amy let out a giggle. "I see your top squad is prepping for duty."
"You don’t like music?" Bucky asked, joining in on the conversation again, his hands still on Amy's waist.
Peggy smiled. "I do, actually. I might even, when this is all over, go dancing."
"Then what are we waiting for?"
"The right partner."
"Well, I found my right partner. He was right next to me the whole time," Amy said/
"Come on, sweetheart. Let's dance," Bucky told Amy, leading her to the dance floor for a slow song.
"They look happy," Peggy sighed, looking over at Steve. "0800, Captain. Bring your Lt."
Steve nodded. "Yes, ma’am."
"What's up with those two?" Bucky asked as he twirled Amy around.
"Peggy got a crush on Steve, and Steve is well..."
"Steve?" Bucky asked. Amy chuckled and nodded. "At least that didn't change."
"It didn't...He's even more awkward now that he's bigger." Amy ran her hand across his shoulder and up into his short hair. "God, I missed you."
"I missed you too. Wanna go back to my bunk?" Bucky asked.
"Lead the way, Sarg."
Amy giggled as Bucky led her out of the tavern, and down to the bunks. Once inside the room that was his, he kicked the door close, pushing Amy against it. Their lips met in a frenzy as their hands roamed. Amy moaned as he licked her lips, begging for entrance. She opened her mouth, slipping off her heels. Bucky moved his lips from hers to trail down her neck and to the spot behind her ear. Amy shivered as she pushed his jacket off, and reached for his shirt.
Bucky removed his lips, and let her slide the shirt off of him. She pressed her hand over his heart, feeling it beat steadily underneath her palm. His steely blue eyes penetrated her heart as he slowly unzipped her dress leaving her bare before him. "You're so beautiful," he whispered, bending down to pepper kisses down his body.
The moment his lips reached her most intimate parts, all thoughts left her head as she collapsed against the wall, gasping out his name. "Jamie..." she moaned, one hand on the wall above her head to keep her steady, and the other hand on his head. Her fingers pulled on the longer pieces of hair on the back of his hand. As he devoured her, he lifted one of her legs up around his shoulder. "Bucky...Jamie, stop! I need you," she moaned, pulling on his hair to lift his face up to hers. She tasted the smoky, yet sweet taste of herself on his lips and tongue, making her need him even more. He easily lifted her up, and carried her quickly to the bed, their lips still meeting.
He laid her on the bed, undoing his trousers with one hand while holding her chin with the other hand. In their haste, he barely had time to get his pants and boxers all the way off. Once they were to his knees, he positioned himself at her entrance, and easily slid home into her warm heat. She moaned at the feeling, digging her nails into his back. Their union was quick but full of passion.
Amy shouted as stars flashed behind her eyes, her body vibrating in ecstasy. He gave a low grunt, his body stiffening in reaction to her. Afterward, they lay in bed together, both dozing off to sleep.
Bucky moved with purpose through the lab until he came across the blonde woman sitting in a chair. Her face was bruised and bloody as she looked up at him, her green eyes begging him. "Bucky...Please! This isn't you! It's them!"
"Kill her, Sargent," came the cold German voice beside him.
"Bucky! Jamie...please! I love you. Think of Steve! Think of me! Don't do this! Baby!" Bucky unclipped his Glock from his belt, his cold eyes trained on her. He pointed the gun at her forehead, her green eyes full of tears and fear. "No! Baby, please! Don't do this!" He couldn't continue to stare at her as he was about to kill her. Her eyes haunted him. Closing his eyes, he turned his head away, his finger applying gentle pressure to the trigger. "JAMIE! PLEASE! N-"
Her cries and the sound of a gunshot snapped him out of his slumber, his heart hammering. He was covered in sweat, his bare body sticking to the military sheets. They weren't the best, but at least they beat the cold hard table that he was strapped on. Looking over at the sleeping woman next to him, he let his body relax. He'd been having the same dream for several nights now. It's been a couple of days since Steve and Amy rescued him from the Hydra base. He didn't know what they did to him, but he knew that they somehow messed with his head.
"You okay?" came the sleepy voice next to him.
"Yeah...go back to sleep," he mumbled, shifting his body so he can look at her. She was laying on her stomach, her arms under her pillow, her bare back not covered by the sheet.
Her green eyes were open, and staring at him. "You know you can't lie to me. What's wrong?"
"Just a nightmare..." he sighed, laying on his side, his fingers drawling endless patterns on her back.
"The same one you've been having?" He looked at her in surprise. She reached a handout, and placed it on his cheek, stroking it gently. "I hear you wake up every night."
He kissed her palm, sighing heavily. She rolled herself onto her side, continuing to stroke his face, offering him silent support and comfort. "HYDRA...That scientist...They did something to me...To my head...in that chair. I was in this room in the lab, and they had this woman. They wanted me to kill her, and I was going to...I couldn't stop. But-I couldn't. I couldn't watch as I killed her-I-" his voice choked as tears welled up in his eyes.
"Shh..." Amy whispered, scooting closer to him, and pressing tiny butterfly-like kisses on his face. Her eyes filled with tears of the symphony as her love quietly cried in fear and pain. "It's okay..."
"It was you, Ames...They wanted me to kill you, and I couldn't-I couldn't kill you. I would-I wouldn't ever kill you..." he sobbed out.
"I know...It's okay," she cooed, hugging his body to hers. "I'm not going anywhere."
By morning time, Bucky and Amy got ready for the day, heading down to Howard's lab. "Hey, Howard...How's it going?" Amy asked, walking over to the billionaire. Bucky watched from the sidelines, feeling the twinges of jealousy as he watched the two interact. The nagging voice in his head was speaking to him, telling him that he wasn't good enough for her. "So, do you have any toys for me?"
"Of course, darling..." Howard grinned.
"Peggy, that’s not what you thought it was," they heard Steve say as he followed Peggy into the lab. The woman looked upset as she stalked into the room.
"I don’t think anything, Captain. Not one thing. You always wanted to be a soldier and now you are. Just like all the rest."
"Well, what about you and Stark? How do I know you two haven’t been...fonduing?"
Amy choked out a laugh, laughing so hard that she had tears running down her face. Peggy's face turned bright red in anger. "You still don’t know a bloody thing about women!"
Howard was grinning, shaking his head. "Fondue is just cheese and bread, my friend."
Steve blushed. "Really? I didn’t think..."
Bucky was hunched over as well, laughing. "You're an idiot!"
"Jerk," Steve muttered, red as a tomato.
"Nor should you, pal. The moment you think you know what’s goin’ on in a woman’s head, it’s the moment your goose is well and truly cooked. Me, I concentrate on work. Which at the moment is about making sure you and your men do not get killed. Carbon polymer."
Amy came up to the table, seeing the piece of cloth. "Should withstand your average German bayonet. Although Hydra’s not going to attack you with a pocket knife." He referred to the shield that Steve had used. "I hear you’re uh...kinda attached?"
"It’s handier than you might think."
"I took the liberty of coming up with some options." They followed him to some shields. "This one’s fun. She’s been fitted with electrical relays. It’ll allow you to..."
Steve on the other hand was drawn to a round silver-looking shield. "What about this one?"
"No! No! That’s just a prototype," Howard tried to say, as Steve kept looking at it.
"What’s it made of?"
"Vibranium. It’s stronger than steel and a third of the weight. It’s completely vibration absorbent."
Steve turned to Howard. "How come it’s not a standard issue?"
"That’s the rarest metal on earth. What you’re holding there? That’s all we’ve got."
"You quite finished, Mr. Stark? I’m sure the Captain has some unfinished business," Peggy said with so much malice.
Steve turned to her, holding up the shield against his chest. "What do you think?"
Peggy picked up the gun and shot at Steve as he quickly moved the shield up to deflect the bullets. The small metal didn't even make a dent. "Yes. I think it works," Peggy declared, putting the gun down at the table, and stalking off.
"I have some ideas about the uniform," he muttered, still shocked.
"Whatever you want, pal," Howard nodded, taking a piece of paper that Steve offered him. Then he turned to Amy. "Alright and you...I added some touches to your suit."
Amy followed him to a mannequin where her black suit was. "I added a silver star in the middle since you're Star Girl. I also fixed your utility belt with all the fixings. This is a taser, smoke gernade, regular grenades, and these...are my babies. He lifted two small guns. Since you can transfer your energy through them, I made them big enough so you can shoot your blue energy balls through them like a pistol."
"How did you do that?" Amy asked, picking up a gun. She focused her energy on the clear chamber, watching it fill with blue light. Howard started talking nonsense, so she waved her hand. "On the other hand, it's all right. I don't need to know."
"I also made you this," Howard said, grabbing a small metal stick. With a flick of his wrist, it grew to nearly six feet long. "It's made out of tungsten and Vibranium."
"I thought you said you only had the stuff for the shield?"
"Yeah, well, I made something for you first. Because you're my favorite."
Amy smiled. "This is gonna be fun."
