Wednesday..
Enid pulled out of the hug and looked at Wednesday.
”Why didn’t you say anything?” Enid asked.
”Be—Because everyone is—is mad at me” Wednesday said through hiccups.
"No Wednesday, we shouldn't have been mad at you. I was just worried and that turned into anger. I care about you alright?" Enid said softly, holding back tears that were threatening to fall.
Weems was watching this interaction between the two and knew they were both oblivious to their feelings towards each other.
"You girls can go back to your dorm now. Enid, are you moving back to Ophelia Hall?" Weems asked
Enid nodded not noticing she was holding Wednesday's hand. The goth didn't mind it though. She hasn't been in contact with Enid in so long that she just wanted to be near her at all times.
Enid said goodbye to her friends and walked back to her and Wednesday's dorm. The walk was quiet but it wasn't awkward. Their relationship was weird but nice. They could have a huge fight one night and then come back to each other like nothing ever happened between them. That's why they were the best duo ever. They even were in "The Best Duo" section in the Nevermore yearbook.
When they made it inside the room, Enid smelled very blood. Wednesday smelled like it too. Enid gave Wednesday a confused look.
"What?" Wednesday asked softly.
"Do you smell that?"
"Smell what?.."
"Blood."
Wednesday forgot to spray the room to hide the smell a little bit. "What are you talking about?"
"Nevermind. My smell can be wacky at times." Enid said noting to herself to ask Yoko tomorrow.
The two went out to the balcony. The balcony was where they had serious talks. It started when Enid and Wednesday both opened up to each other there. It remained like that ever since.
"So.. were you going out late at night because you are... Ghost Spider?" Enid asked making sure no one could hear her to protect Wednesday's identity.
Wednesday nodded as she looked at the crescent moon. "I'm sorry for worrying you," Wednesday whispered.
"Don't apologize. What you're doing.. it's amazing. You shouldn't apologize for saving lives while risking yours." Enid said hoping Wednesday would understand and continue her hero duties because a lot of people needed her.
"WEDNESDAY!" Eugene screamed through her earpiece.
Wednesday flinched and Enid gave her a concerned look. "What happened?" She asked.
"Eugene is talking to me through my earpiece," Wednesday replied.
"WEDNESDAY! GREEN GOBLIN IS TRYING TO BURN DOWN JERICHO! HE'S AT CRACKSTONE'S MELTED STATUE" Eugene screamed.
Wednesday's eyes widened in shock. "I'm on my way," Wednesday said.
"What's going on?" Enid asked.
"Green Goblin is trying to burn down Jericho. Warn Weems just in case it spreads to Nevermore through the trees. This place already had enough of almost getting burned down to ashes." Wednesday instructed as she got her suit on. She jumped from the balcony and shot her webs swinging to Crackstone's statue.
Enid watched the girl swing in the air, mesmerized until she realized she had to notify Weems.
She ran through the halls and made her way to Weems' office. When she got there, she knocked on the door and opened it.
"Do you need something Enid?" Principal Weems asked.
"The Green Goblin is going to burn down Jericho, Wednesday told me to warn you just in case it makes its way to Nevermore," Enid said after each breath.
"Thank you for telling me, I'll have the students head outside," Weems said and Enid nodded running to Yoko's dorm.
Enid was out of breath. She opened the door knowing Yoko leaves it unlocked for Enid. "YOKO! .. GOBLIN, FIRE, LEAVE!" Enid yelled.
"Girl what?" Yoko said, more confused than ever.
Enid breathed before continuing, “The Green Goblin is going to burn down the entirety of Jericho if Wednesday doesn’t make it there in time and we have to evacuate because fire could spread to Nevermore.”
”You could’ve said so.” Yoko got up and went to the door.
”Let’s go furry!” She yelled.
Enid chased after her.
—
Wednesday made it to Crackstone’s statue and the citizens of Jericho noticed her and started cheering.
”I know I’ve been gone for like a week but it’s not that big of a deal..” Wednesday mumbled to herself.
”Lookie here! The heroine is back! Did your mommy miss you?” The goblin said the last part in a baby voice. How annoying.
”My mother isn’t here but if she was, your ass would’ve been beaten long ago.” She said shooting her webs at the glider and pulling it towards her.
“I’m sick of your bullshit. Get this over with.” Wednesday said.
”If you say so..” The goblin threw a punch which Wednesday caught. She dropped him to the ground and he made a grunt.
He grabbed one of his bombs and threw it at Wednesday. She was sent flying but she managed to stay on the ground by clawing her fingers in the dirt. She stood up and stared at him. Then she shot her webs at his mask catching him off guard and pulling his mask off. Wednesday stood there in silence. Xavier Thorpe.
"Hello We-" Wednesday shot a web at his face to stop him from revealing her identity to the public.
"You say anything and I will have your head ontop of Nevermore Academy." Wednesday threatened.
She stopped to pull something out. Xavier ripped the web off his mouth and put his hands up in mercy knowing today would be the last lay he would be breathing.
"H-Hey, Hey, I was just joking alright? I wasn't planning on hurting you!" He let out a scared chuckle hopping Wednesday would spare him.
"I must admit, you were good at hiding it. You were horrible at actually trying to light something on fire though. It's really not that hard." She said slitting his throat. Xavier fell to the ground bleeding out.
"I thought heros weren't allowed to kill the villain!" He tried to scream it but he just sounded like he smokes cigars daily.
"Well I'm not a hero. And that's the most stupidest thing I've ever heard in my entire life." Wednesday said as she stomped on his head.
She grabbed his body and swung into the distance. The audience was shocked. After the girl was gone, everyone cheered knowing that their town was safe.
—
Wednesday made it back to Nevermore and all of the students were outside.
"LOOK! IT'S GHOST SPIDER!" A kid yelled.
The attention was brought towards her. Weems, Enid, and Eugene ran up to her.
"Xavier was the Green Goblin." Wednesday said.
Everyone looked at the bleeding body. Enid gagged and Eugene faced the other direction.
"Ah.. He's dead. Uh- I'll call the-" Weems was cut off by Wednesday.
"No. Calling people will be the downfall of this school. If the people who saw don't know he's from Nevermore, your school will remain. You call the police, your school will be no more." Wednesday said. "I will burn his body."
Weems just nodded with her mouth slightly open. "Yeah- yeah, do whatever you need with his.. body.."
Wednesday swung off to burn his body.
—
Wednesday and Enid were back in their dorm. Enid was writing on her blog about how Xavier was an evil villain who tried to commit arson. Wednesday was..drawing? Who knows what she does.
"Willa" Enid said
"Hm?"
"Do you think more people like Xavier are going to emerge from somewhere?"
"No one knows. Not even me. But if someone ever does, I'll murder them"
Enid giggled and walked over to Wednesday and sat on the edge of her bed.
"I'm glad we have you to protect us." Enid said with a smile.
Wednesday stopped moving her pencil. Blush could be seen on her face. She nodded in response and went back to her paper.
"Say, how did you become Ghost Spider?" Enid asked.
Wednesday stopped what she was doing and turned to the wolf. "Well.."
—
"Hello Eugene. What are you working on?" Wednesday asked the boy
"I was collecting some insects yesterday and I found this weird spider"
"May I see it? I might be able to tell what it is"
"Sure! Be careful though"
Wednesday put her hand in the jar and got it to crawl on her hand. She started looking at its features not sure what it was.
"I'm not sure I've ever seen this thing before. You might have discovered a new spider." Wednesday said, fascinated with his findings. Eugene was about to say something before he saw the spider bite her.
"It's a biter" Wednesday said keeping a straight face.
"Wens, the bite is effecting your hand at a concerning speed" The boy said when he saw a bump on her hand.
The spider collapsed on Wednesday's pale hand.
"Seems like it dies after attacking its victim. Reminds me of bees"
"Yeah you should get that checked out though, it might be posionous.
"No worries Eugene, a tiny bite like this won't harm me" Wednesday said picking up the spider with her other hand trying to place it in the jar so she could do a dna test later.
"Eugene, it's stuck on my fingers." Wednesday said
"Here-" He said taking the insect but instead of picking it up, it ripped into two.
"What the- Did you have glue on your fingers?"
"No."
Eugene gave her a sheet of paper to hold and when he tried to take it from her, it was like it was stuck on her hand.
"OH MY GOD YOU'RE SPIDERMAN!" Eugene screamed.
"Spider what?"
—
"No offense, that's kind of boring Wens" Enid said
Wednesday shrugged and continued to write on her paper.
"Wednesday.." Enid said
Wednesday looked at her. Why was she calling her by her full name? What had she done this time?
"I um, I like you. And I say like as in I love you and as in i.. wanna be your girlfriend.." Enid said
"Enid,"
