Soap X Ghost - Confession (Angst)
It had been a long time since Soap had felt this way about someone. He had known Ghost for years, fought alongside him in countless missions, and always admired his strength and bravery. But now, as they sat together in the quiet of their barracks, Soap couldn't keep his feelings buried any longer.
"Ghost," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I need to tell you something."
Ghost looked up from his book, his expression unreadable. "What is it, Soap?"
"I...I have feelings for you," Soap said, his heart racing. "I know it's probably no what you want to hear, but I can't help it. I've tried to ignore it, but the more i try, the harder it gets."
Ghost's face remained blank, and for a moment, Soap realised he had made a terrible mistake. But then, Ghost spoke.
"This isn't the place for relationships, Soap." Ghost replied, his voice cold and distant. "Even if it was, I'm not interested."
Soap felt his heart sink. He had hoped that Ghost would feel the same way, that they could finally be together after all these years. But it was clear that Ghost didn't see him that way.
"I understand," Soap said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I won't bring it up again."
But Ghost didn't seem satisfied. "You need to move on, Soap. You can't keep holding onto something that's not there."
Soap nodded, feeling tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He had always known that Ghost was a tough and practical person, but he had never expected this kind of rejection.
"Okay," he said, his voice barely audible. "I'll try."
Ghost gave him a small nod before returning to his book, effectively ending the conversation. Soap sat there for a few more minutes, feeling numb and rejected. He had thought that confessing his feelings would bring him some kind of closure, but instead, it had only made things worse.
As he got up to leave, Soap couldn't help but feel a sense of regret. He knew that he would always have these feelings for Ghost, even if they could never be together. But he also knew that he had to respect Ghost's decision and move on, no matter how hard it was.
He turned to Ghost, wanting to say something, anything, instead of just leaving it like this, but when he realised Ghost hadn't even looked over to check in on him, he realised it would only make things worse.
From that day on, Soap tried his best to move on and put his feelings aside. He continued to fight alongside Ghost, but things were never the same.
Ghost had grown distant, and it felt like they never saw one another unless they were on a mission.
He couldn't help but feel a little bit of sadness every time he saw Ghost, knowing that things most likely would never be the same again, and his feelings weren't reciprocated.
He should've never said anything.
