Excalibur is celebrating a holiday, the strangeness of all this is how it was a holiday that only exists on Earth 45, not on this Earth but Opal Luna was pretty adamant they celebrate if only to show solidarity with the interdimensional sections of Excalibur. Meggan hated the idea only because it comes from Opal Luna who still baits her eyelashes at Brian.
The holiday has a complex story that only Kurt is interested to know. Apparently, on Earth 45, they´ve got a polytheism system and each God represents a different form of love. Kurt is a Christian but he´s fascinated by the story and the system.
Rachel is paying attention to the story of a Sappho Godness who protects and loves all lesbians and trans women. Her eyes shine when Kurt mentioned she even makes weddings.
Meggan and Brian are neutral throughout this solidarity exchange.
Kitty is the one looking at the clock nervously. Too nervously. In fact, Lockheed is flying faster- as much his weight and wings allow- to Kurt to bite his tail- the elf has still to warm up to Lockheed- and to makes Kurt pay attention to his friend.
Kitty is pacing back and forth. Bitting her nails and looking grumpy and a bit afraid. This prompts Kurt to forgive the purple dragon and with a quick bamf, Kurt is next to Kitty.
"Katzchen, what´s wrong?" He puts his arm around her causing the girl to stop pacing and stare at his big golden eyes. Biting her inner check, Kitty confesses.
"I´ve got a date and I´m really nervous..." the confession follows by a nervous smile and a blush.
Kurt blinks at this admission. "I didn´t know Piotr is coming over" his tone is supposed to be teasing. The tone is too fake to pass as such.
Kitty only shakes her head. "Not Piotr, not a man either"
Kurt opens his mouth and closes. He never suspected Kitty would ever date a woman, but, he´s not against it. "Oh, who the lucky lady?"
Kitty offers a tiny smile. "I can read your mind, elf. I swing both ways...as for who the lucky lady is....quite funny you mention this because is Wanda Maximoff"
Kurt blinks at her 3 times.
Wanda and Kitty? When this ever happened?
Kitty chuckles at his expression. "Again, I can read your mind...at least, just yours. We meet in SHIELD and we talk, bond over and I asked her out...she said yes" Kitty scratches her neck. "It was a bad idea? I mean...I only dated 3 Peters in my life and that doesn´t look good on my romantic resume"
Kurt squeezes her hand gently. "Hey, look at me, you´re great and Wanda is lucky to have you" Kitty gave a look that says clearly ''is just a date, elf, we´re not marrying'' and her stare is too pointy to not be confused to a literal cat.
"I meant every word, either this is just a date or you two became the powerful couple topping Jean and Scott" Kurt states proudly. "You deserve to be happy...and I hope Scarlet Witch realizes how lucky she is to have you"
Kitty nods, still unsure, still afraid. Kitty smiles and gets up.
The doorbell rings and Wanda shows up. Kitty is wearing blue, Wanda is wearing red. The two women hold hands and after a small introduction- and a brief explanation about the interdimensional holiday- they finally leave.
Kurt, Rachel, and Meggan watch the scene even when they´re no longer there.
"A witch and a cat?!" Meggan jokes. Rachel´s grumpiness is no surprise and Kurt hopes everything went alright with the date. His friend deserves happiness even if it´s with Scarlet Witch.
