The word spread like wildfire, most of the agents are happy for the new couple, but for Viper? She is sad and angry at the same time because she didn't take the risk and told Killjoy how she truly felt for the genius.
As she heard the door opened, the chemist turned her head to see who entered. Oh, it's Killjoy. "Halo Viper!" The german greeted, Viper greeted her back with a small hum and continued on her experiment. "I don't know if you heard this but Raze an-"
"Are in a relationship? Yes, I know about that Killjoy. I'm surprised that Brimstone let you two stay in the protocol despite breaking the policy" Viper said coldly, not even looking at her.
Killjoy wasn't expecting this kind of treatment from Viper, they did a lot of projects together and Viper even opened up to her back then.
"Is there something wrong Viper?" Killjoy asked, she heard the chemist scoffed, the german placed her hand on Viper's shoulder, Viper immediately slapped her hand away from her. "Don't touch me, can't you see I'm busy?" Viper snapped.
"Sorry... I'll leave you alone" Killjoy muttered an apology as she left the american's lab. Viper felt guilty for lashing her anger out on Killjoy. She knew that she couldn't force Killjoy to have feelings for her, afterall, she did suspect something fishy is going on with her and Raze.
Viper sighed heavily as she left her lab to get some fresh air, as she is walking around, she heard the engineer talking to her girlfriend.
"You're saying that Viper is acting weird?" She heard Raze asking. "Ja, she was so cold, I don't know what happened to her, she wasn't like this before" Killjoy replied.
"Maybe she's just tired, love. Try not to think about it too much, let's get some sleep, it's getting late" Raze cheered her up. Viper wanted to apologize to Killjoy but she couldn't tell the german why she was cold and angry.
Though, she sometimes wishes that she has Raze's personality, maybe Killjoy would fall for her. Letting out a frustrated sigh, she decided to went back to her lab and forget about the conversation she overheard.
Days has passed, Viper is working non stop just to forget the fact that Raze and Killjoy are dating. She didn't left her lab to get food,or socialize with other agents.
Killjoy was beginning to worry about her friend, she hasn't seen her in days, the german decided to visit Viper again in her lab. Once she entered, she saw the american passed out in her desk. She immediately brings her to Sage.
"She just passed out of exhaustion, let's give her some rest" The chinese informed. "Sage... why is she suddenly so cold?" Killjoy asked.
Sage raised one eyebrow, "You didn't know? Believe me or not, Viper has feelings for you for so long before the protocol was formed, when she heard the news about you and Raze, she started to isolate herself from everyone" The monk explained.
Before Killjoy could speak, Sage signalled her to leave "you should go now, you have a mission today right?" Killjoy nodded and left.
Killjoy did have feelings for Viper back when they were working for kingdom, she didn't know if Viper is interested in her thats why she stopped crushing on her.
Oh how Killjoy wondered if she had the guts to tell Viper how she felt back then.
